Do you want to hire the "Rock Stars" of contractors? Do you want the job done quickly, on time, and at a fair price? Do you want quality? Cascade Roofing just gave me the wow factor. From the initial bidding process with Nels, I learned more about roof care, maintenance, installation, and science than from any other roofing company. Cascade wasn't the cheapest, but they also weren't the most expensive. Quite frankly, my bid was a couple thousand cheaper than I thought it would be. Nels was honest, forthright, and probably told me more than a salesman should. But I like that...it's called trust. I was comfortable with Nels. Cascade does all work with salaried employees...not subbed out like other roofers. This means the guys on the job have careers, not jobs, and they act like it. No cussing, no loud music, no slacking off. Everybody was on time, and the crew worked their butts off like no skilled craftsmen I'd ever seen before. Contractors get a bad rap, but these guys came through. Clearly they ate Wheaties for breakfast, because these guys worked like champions. I heard a great deal of laughter throughout the day, showing that the workers all have a strong rapport with each other. My roof went on in one day. That's right, a contractor on site at my home for ONE DAY. They cleaned up the work site, and I was left with a great looking home. Oh, and here's a nice perk....I get to pay for a portion of the job with a credit card...with no surcharge...and earn some airline miles! Cascade replaced our roof in 2023. They were great. I felt they were honest and trustworthy. The price was fair. They set expectations for additional costs depending on the condition under the shingles and while they has to replace a bit of plywood it was minimal. They gave us great advice on choosing color and product. The foreman let us know our sunroof would need replacement soon (we figured) and asked if we wanted them to take care of it. They were able to do this at the same time for a very reasonable cost. The roof looks great. They got it done in ONE day! The crew took great care around our new deck and railings and cleaned up the entire area very well. Would recommend this company if you need a roof! read more

I have been doing that since the 80's, before there was an Angie's List, before Home Advisor.com. There was a Flory's List. And if you care to see it, it's a mile long! In my result: Even though they've had one complaint in the last 10 years, and their 1st license was in 1995, I'd like to give people chances anyway. OK. This review is for our roofing experience from 3 years ago. My roof is still solid and looks awesome ! we had multiple bids and they weren't the cheapest, but convinced me the quality work and service will be there where other don't seems can match. They work very fast, cleaned up, friendly, answered my question on site. They also discovered dry rot, informed me what they could do to fix it, and gave me an estimate and options. Everything went so smooth from initial communication to completion. I wish they do more than roofing. read more

Roofing is never a fun way to spend money, but Cascade made it as pleasant as possible. When we bought our most recent house, we knew it needed roofing repairs and that the garage needed a brand new roof. So, I got several bids. What a mixed bag! There was the company that said my whole house needed to be re-roofed at $12,000, but never returned my calls. There was the company that never showed up. There was the company that got their bid to us a week late, and when the bid came in, it was missing all the pertinent pages. Then there was the lovely owner-operated company that we almost used. He said he would fixed the roofing issue on the spot, but didn't have the parts in his truck. He was great. But, in the end, we chose Cascade. Here's why: --When you call Cascade, you always get a real person on the phone, who knows what's going on. This was not true for most of the other companies I called. --Cascade's estimator spent a good 1-2 hours with me, going over possible ideas, and got the bid back to me very quickly. --The bid was unbelievably clear and detailed. It answered ALL my questions about licensing, insurance, materials, etc. But the major reason we picked Cascade is that they were the one company that had a complete solution for our complicated garage situation. They were able to do carpentry work (installing soffits) and a torch-down roof to deal with the low slope. The tricky thing with Cascade is that they are very popular, which meant that they were booking jobs 6-8 weeks out. I was worried about the roof leaking in the meantime, so they sent a foreman out to stabilize the roof for free. Gotta love that! The job took a couple of days, but by the end of each day, the job site was always tidy, and all of my plants survived intact. The garage looks great, too! We were very pleased. read more

We knew Cascade from work they had done for the family. They are straight up on what needs fixed and the best way to fix it; everything is very clear in their quotes and they are very personable. A very good crew that behaves like they should - they are at someone's home and that space needs to be respected! We aren't just talking putting on some shingles... we had some ugly issues and they removed sags, installed outlookers and replaced decking to straighten the roofline and remove the wrinkles. They also put on a 16' x 31' patio cover with clear Suntuff covering... I highly recommend them for this sort of work. It is absolutely beautiful and they put it all into place in a single shot when they did the roof. They also pay attention to the little things - cleanup of nails and their garbage after the workday is done, placement of their materials, using proper underlayment near the patio cover, spray painting the chimney flashing and vent stacks to match the roof color. In fact, the owner came back and cleaned a bit of overspray off the bricks for us. Can't say enough good things about these guys, a real good bunch. read more

I'm not easily impressed but when my mothers home needed a new roof 2,000 miles away in Portland, Cascade Roofing was as good as their reviews. The project was coordinated and executed flawlessly. This is not a typical construction company, at least not one I have ever dealt with. I only wish I lived in Oregon so I could use them for my house as well. They did everything to make sure our new roof was energy efficient and beautiful. Nels and the entire crew were professional and did everything they said they would definitely ahead of the time promised. We have been in the process of remodeling our home for the past year and finding someone who does a great job and gets it done on time( 3 days for a roof is amazing) is hard to find! They have their own crew so they don't contract out and they worked so hard we were grateful they were able to finish the job so soon. After all when you live in the house and the work goes on and on for weeks( like some roofing I've seen) that's not something we wanted. They weren't the highest in cost and they were great! As a fellow reviewer, and customer of this company, I'd like to address the complaints of others: 1.) "Their quote was "double" compared to the other quotes." Indeed, it is true that they were the most expensive quote for us, out of the 3 that we received. However, they actually not only put a new roof on your house, but they also make your home more efficient and allow it to "breath". I'd say 99% of the roofing companies out there can put a new roof on your home; hell, have me come over, and I'll slap some shingles down for cheap, but how many actually talk to you about efficiency, air movement, mold reduction, reducing heating and cooling bills? Probably not any of them, except Cascade. At least, that was my experience. Daniel walked us through the edge and ridge vents they wanted to add, and provided a couple of brochures that really got us thinking about how a home should "breath", and why air movement is absolutely critical in a roof. I wouldn't say that their bid was even remotely close to double what the others quoted - I think that's hyperbole from the other reviewers. They were more expensive, but not even remotely close to double. Again, if you simply want a roof on your house, and don't actually care about mold reduction, home heating and cooling efficiency, etc. then go with the cheaper option, while your roof rots in the the sun and rain. 2.) "They said the pitch of our roof was too great, and referred us to another company for the job." Ok, so they don't take on that liability. Have you been on your roof? You do realize that falling off of a roof can have dire consequences right? If Cascade roofing doesn't want to put their employees at risk, then that is a great on their part. They do refer you to another company. It's not as though they say, "No way!" and hang up the phone. Seriously, there's no reason to ding a business based on the fact that they feel there's a safety concern for their workers doing certain jobs. It shows they actually care about their employees, and don't want the liability. Now that that's out of the way, from start to finish the company was great. Daniel walked us through everything, and again, explained the details of adding airflow to our roof. The workers were awesome, too. Drew, the owner's son, was out there busting his ass like the rest of the crew, and was pleasant to talk to. We found some wood rot over our front door, and it is comforting knowing that I have a roof over my head that is going to last 30 years. The workers did a thorough job of cleaning up, and busted their ass to get this roof done. I can't say enough about Cascade's professionalism, work ethic, and quality of work. I had Cascade do my roof. The roof had up to 4 layers of roofing in some areas and was in very poor shape. I received 3 estimates and Cascades was very competitive. The estimator seemed very knowledgable and professional. Being a first time home owner and not knowing much myself about the process, he walked me through and answered all my questions easily. Although they had to keep pushing the date back, due to lots of rain, they kept me very updated about when they would do the roof. The crew that did the roof were very professional and cleaned up the area well afterwards. The whole process was fairly easy and they were incredible to work with. I can't say enough about the plumes of smoke sent up my gluteal fold from several of the roofing contractors that I met with. Cascade had one of the highest plume factors. From the moment they arrived (I live in a nice area), I knew it was going to be bad. What I was not prepared for was having to request the bid despite being told I would receive it within a few days. Imagine my shock and disbelief at a bid that was twice the price of all other bids (for the same work). Wow! We did our homework & solicited estimates from 6 roofers before settling on Cascade, but I was still not prepared for the quality of experience that these guys delivered. From start to finish, Cascade did exactly everything they promised to do down to the smallest details. Daniel (sales rep) was extremely focused on understanding our concerns & over-communicating expectations up-front to avoid any 'surprises'. I can't commend Arturo's crew enough for their obvious focus on safety & customer satisfaction as they replaced our 20+ yr cedar shake roof with a heavy duty architectural shingle that looks just fantastic! Was pleased to see their team haul away all of the roof debris daily & finish our project in just under 3 days - I think I found one nail in the driveway afterwards, but that was about it. How many roofing outfits volunteer to replace damaged fascia board/trim & then touch-up/repaint, as needed? How many companies install scaffolding to minimize ladder usage and damage to gutters & landscaping? Nels was flexible with billing arrangements. ATERRO and his team are TOP OF THE SHELF! He oversaw and directed every detail of the entire job, was on the roof himself, and ensured full communication with the customer. They went beyond and above. They safely protected my home and landscape as much as possible and cleaned up to where I did not know they were here. Their bid may be higher than others, but the above quality explains why it is worth it. I have used Cascade Roofing twice in the past three years, once in 2013 for a ranch home and again in 2016 for a two story home. The first home was a tear-off and replace with the Certainteed Architectural shingle and the second was a complete tear-off of the cedar wood shingle, installation of new plywood and the install of the Certainteed Presidential shingle. Owning rental homes, we used to roof our own homes and business properties, but now that we have found Cascade Roofing, we no longer have to do this work as they do quality work, exceeding our expectations. Nels and the Cascade crew have always been professional and it shows in their work. The crew arrives ready to start the job when promised. They prep the home and the grounds to protect as much as possible and proceed to begin the work at hand, cleaning up everything when done at the end of the job. Their website has a good video, which shows the process they go through from start to finish. Cascade is a bit more expensive than many other roofing firms, because they tend to use higher quality materials, and staff a larger crew, but I have found them to be competitive overall with those companies who compete in their peer group. I had cascade do a tear off and new roof install and am pleased by the quality of the work (ask me again after the winter rains!). Cascade sent a large crew who worked their buns off for a solid twelve hours. They started at 7:30 and did not quit until after sundown. Before starting work the crew covered my plantings for protection. At completion they did a thorough cleanup. I checked the lawn the next day and found only one small piece of roofing felt. They even used a magnet to find any stray nails. That was what I call a good cleanup. Cascade was not the cheapest roofer (by about $1000) nor the most expensive but over the years I've learned that you often get what you pay for. One suggestion: find somewhere else to be while they are working. This is a noisy process. read more

I know people who have had Cascade replace their roof and had hoped to have mine done by them too, but will keep looking. Everyone is busy this time of year and I appreciate it when they flat out tell me they can't do it or won't get to it until November instead of wasting my time coming out to give me an estimate, then finding out it won't work out. read more

We solicited 4 bids, 3 of them were competitive. Cascade Roofing's bid was more than double the others. The assessor seemed more interested in telling me what was wrong with my house than in fixing the roof. If the bid was a way to say "we're not interested in your business," then they were successful in that. There are better companies who'll respect the homeowner, go with one of them. read more

Perhaps it isn't fair to write this review, because our house was not re-roofed by Cascade. You see, I called to ask for a quote, and the person handling my request apparently went to Google Maps as we were talking, looked at the photo of my house, and told me that the roof was simply too steep. All they had were "old guys" working at the time, I was told. Until they managed to train some "young guys," the company just didn't want to risk putting geezers on a roof that was too steep. We got quotes from 4 different roofing companies because we have almost 5000 sf of roof on 4 different levels and knew it was going to be a big job! Cascades estimator was very informative and helpful. Their quote was already nicely competitive, but they gave us a deal if we would let them do the job during the winter! It could not have worked out better, they came in during the dry but very cold weather near the end of January. They showed up with a small army, probably 9 guys and had the job done in two days! I wish YELP let you post pictures, because I got a great shot of a big crew on our roof and one guy must be their high point guy, because he was standing on the highest point of the roof! I had to take a picture because he looked JUST like the "Fiddler on the Roof" ! They made sure the driveway and walk ways were clean and clear when they left on the first day and did a nice clean up job when they finished on the second day. Mike, the Foreman, even went through the crawl spaces and attics to check things inside and out! When the guys found that the vent shafts from our three bathrooms were not as straight as they should have been, they straightened them up, making our fan and ventilation systems more efficient! We are out-of-state landlords and needed to find a reputable roofer for our home in Lake Oswego. We interviewed many good roofers but were apprehensive for one reason or another until we talked with Cascade Roofing. They were very willing to answer all our questions and presented us with a detailed description of the project, time schedule, products and warranties. They also knew we were not in state, so were patient to answer all questions and put our minds at ease. The project turned out beautiful and they seem to go the extra mile for us. They installed an attic fan to allow moisture to escape and installed all new gutters. It was done absolutely to perfection and on time. We just completed a big project of replacing our roof and installing solar panels, and Cascade Roofing was our choice for the first part. And what a wise move that was, for it turned out that they also helped with the second part. It was a complicated process, because of the coordination that was required between the roofers and the solar installers, and I can't imagine a better company to deal with this than Cascade Roofing. The main dude there, named Nels, was simply fantastic from start to finish, guiding us all along the way -- including helping us make the crucial decision between attaching the solar brackets directly onto the roof supports before laying down the new shingles ... as opposed to first putting on the new shingles and then making holes in them afterwards when attaching the solar brackets. Nels confirmed our inclination to go the first way, thereby making it very unlikely that a leak would develop later. Plus, he also put down a special "underlayment" sealing material beneath the shingles, which would make even less likely any prospect of a leak in the future. Aside from these technical issues, the solar people were not the easiest bunch to deal with, especially in terms of scheduling, and there were numerous delays along the way. But Nels was patient and supportive throughout the whole production. Then there was the Cascade Roofing team that actually swept in on the day of the job itself, in terms of tearing off the old shingles and laying down the new ones -- what an incredible group they were! It was like a swarm of bees or something, zooming in to take on their work: they were very fast, efficient, and careful in all that they did. The foreman, Mike, even came up with an ingenious solution for completely protecting our delicate marionberry crop from being harmed in any way by all the debris and commotion. And in the end, they did our whole large (and steep) roof in one day, from start to finish -- including sealing the interface around the solar brackets. Plus at the end, all the crew (there were around 9 of them) participated in doing a very meticulous clean-up process, so that when they left there was almost no sign that they had been there, aside from the beautiful new roof that was now solar ready. On top of everything else, did I mention that they were reasonably priced? All in all, it's hard to imagine a better choice, by a company that will take good care of you, than Cascade Roofing. After getting a few bids we selected Cascade Roofing due to their high ratings and reports on all websites, along with the Better Business and Contractors' Board. The 9 to 10 employees working on our roof tore off and installed 68 sheets of new plywood and reshinged the roof all in one days' time. The hard working employees did a good job of cleanup which also included cleaning out the gutters. I wish all my home improvement repairs went this smoothly. When my husband and I wanted to replace our roof, my parents and my husband's boss both recommended Cascade Roofing because of how well they did when they hired them for new roofs. We're really happy we chose Cascade Pacific too. A sales rep came out for an inspection and gave us a range of quotes depending on warranty length and when we wanted the work done (we chose winter rates because they're lower but you have to wait for a nice day so you don't get to schedule the work in advance). We established a good relationship with our rep right away because he was knowledgeable, professional, patient, and friendly. He sat at our dining table and answered all our questions and we had a nice conversation. When he came to the house again for a follow-up meeting for me to sign the paperwork and pay the deposit, I got cold feet because I didn't feel ready. He said I could take my time, and he never made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. A couple of weeks later I was ready to take the plunge so he came out again for a third meeting, and sat our dining table again and was fun and professional the whole time. A crew of about nine or 10 guys in good shape completed our roof in one day. They arrived in time to start working promptly at 8 a.m., and they were gone by 5 p.m., just as our rep had estimated. They worked hard the whole day and only stopped for lunch. Cascade gives you a list of rules their crews have to follow when they're on the job, such as no smoking, etc., so I felt confident about the type of people and activity I brought to my home and neighborhood. Cascade Roofing's services cost more but in context, that's because they do everything for you, even handle permits, and they will bring your roof up to code rather than just re-shingle. That means they will diagnose your roof for any issues and replace any rotted wood and replace and install any vents. They also only hire trained and experienced workers and they treat their employees well. Roof-related horror stories happen to people who try to go cheap and don't do their research. Hiring Cascade Roofing will give you peace of mind because you're getting the best service and you're protected from anything that can go wrong during and after your install. Clayton with Cascade looked at our roof several years ago & bid the cost of replacement; however he told us we did not need a new roof yet - we had a few good years left with the existing one. He was straight with us, did not pressure us to buy a roof we did not need. So in January when we thought we had a problem we called Cascade - on a weekend! - and got a person! I was amazed. Clayton came here again; turned out there was no leak, but the time had come for replacement and he quoted the job. We contacted two other companies for bids as well; the bids were comparable. We accepted Cascade's bid and waited for spring. Materials were delivered on Friday, & on Monday at 8 am the crew arrived to start work. Friendly, hard-working, competent, safe, and considerate guys. (Oh and Carolyn in the office is so nice to deal with!) It took them a day and a half to tear off the old and replace with new, which is what was quoted. When they were done, our property was scrupulously cleaned up - not a nail to be found. And they sent a thank-you gift as well! Cascade recently replaced my roof of approximately 17 years. I had four bids and all were very competitive. Cascade's was a little higher because I'd asked for a "worst case scenario" bid and received it. I didn't want any unpleasant and expensive surprises when they tore the roof off. They quoted a replacement of all plywood (I knew there was water damage) so that I knew what the maximum amount might be but came under budget by about $1,500. Though the other companies I received bids from were very quick to respond and informative, I felt Cascade was willing to tell me the worst case quote instead of telling me what they thought I wanted to hear. As I reviewed all quotes, I realized that they were almost exact when I added up the little extras that Cascade spelled out. They did a nice job, completed it in a day and a half and left everything very neat and clean. I've already recommended them to several of my neighbors that have similar roofs. read more
