In The Best of Hands! I dearly love my very heavy Baldwin upright concert piano. I have taken it with me from Colorado to Illinois, from Illinois back to Colorado, from Colorado to a storage unit in Washington and now finally from storage in Washington to my apartment.. Response times where very slow. I requested a quote via yelp, they responded the next day and all seemed good. I then said I'd like to schedule and gave them the date. They responded that they would check availability and get back to me, they never did. I then tried calling. We did the quote thing again over the phone, then I said I'd like to schedule. They said to email them. So I emailed them and never got a response. I ended up giving up and finding a different company, the other company had me booked and confirmed by the very next morning. read more

I have moved this regular sized upright 5 times, and this was both the easiest potential move in terms of stairs; navigation, but the worst in terms of the moving company: it's the first time I've had damage to the house/piano from "pro" piano movers. Luckily it was minor: they bashed the side of the piano into the ceiling above the staircase (see photo) because they started off using the wrong technique and decided to press forward rather than restarting. Piano got a bit of paint damage. Hopefully all will be fixable easily, haven't had a chance to work on it yet. They also didn't say a word to apologize for the damage. The crew was also complaining about the difficulty of the move and said I should have had to pay more. I found this very unprofessional. They also were arguing amongst themselves more than I expected. At the end they left a mess of dirt, sticks, and such that was on their padding materials or shoes from previous moves for some reason. I was also surprised at the cost. Maybe it's normal for Seattle, but I had the same piano moved by pros in San Francisco for the same price, going up 6 flights of a windy staircase. This was a simple move up to the 2nd floor and they charged the same. For the price I really didn't expect any trouble. I'll go with A1 Piano next time. read more

Long story short... My piano was damaged and the seat cushion torn during the move. The piano damage was due to over tightening of straps. The cushion who knows. The piano damage was caused by a third party mover and so was the bench. It did take a long amount of time to get both matters handled however the bench, is nearly fixed. It's been 4+ months. Pro Piano Move at first wasn't very good at communicating with me about what was going on so I felt left in the dark for much of this process. I did explain to them how simple phones calls just letting me know where things are standing a few times a week would have made my overall experience better. Since that conversation things have been much better. I do suggest Pro Piano Move to reevaluate your business partners and please do a before and after condition report before moving pianos and benches. read more
