Several months ago, I brought my Ducati 800SS to this shop for service. The work performed included an oil and filter change, cam belt replacement, safety inspection, and other maintenance items, for a total cost of more than $1,400. At the time, I was recovering from multiple eye surgeries and was unable to ride the motorcycle myself. A neighbor assisted me by transporting the bike to and from the shop. When the service was completed, Lawrence contacted me to arrange pickup. I explained that I needed time to coordinate transportation with my neighbor. He informed me that if the motorcycle was not picked up within two days, storage fees of $150 per day would be charged. Given my medical circumstances, I found this response disappointing and lacking flexibility. After retrieving the motorcycle, I immediately noticed that it was not running properly. The bike lacked power and did not shift smoothly between gears. I contacted Lawrence and was advised to continue riding it, with the expectation that the issues would resolve themselves. After approximately one month, the problems persisted. When I called again to discuss the situation, I felt my concerns were dismissed, despite explaining that I had recently undergone a cornea transplant and had limited ability to ride the motorcycle. I requested that the shop inspect the bike and address the issues, but was told I would need to pay for additional diagnostic work. Since the motorcycle had not been operating correctly following the service, I was disappointed that there was no willingness to verify whether the issues were related to the work that had been performed. As a result, I sought a second opinion from another Ducati specialist. During their inspection, they found that the throttle bodies were out of synchronization and that the fuel lines had deteriorated. After replacing the fuel filter and fuel lines and correcting the throttle body synchronization, the motorcycle ran exceptionally well and performed like new. Based on my experience, I found the customer service lacking, felt that my concerns were not taken seriously, and was disappointed by the shop's unwillingness to stand behind its work. While others may have had different experiences, I cannot recommend this business based on my own.

The R7 Goes In for Its Break-In Checkup…read more I just got the new 2022 Yamaha R7 back from Wheelsmith Racing and it's running like a dream. Raul Meono had it in and out in a day and had some nice things to say about the R7. In particular he noted how light it is and how straightforward the valve check and other items were. I first went to Marc Salvisberg's Wheelsmith Racing with my new 1989 Yamaha FZR600. Raul had started at Wheelsmith in 1981 and his brother, Otto Meono Solis, joined Raul in 1990. In recent years Marc has done the dyno tuning on my bikes, but since I first brought the FZR in, all the other work has been done by Raul and Otto. Every single time in the past 32 years their work has been perfect and delivered exactly when they said it would be. Also, Raul and Otto are two of the nicest people you're ever going to meet and it's a pleasure just to see them. And it's not just me; their customers love them.
