Privè is a nice restaurant. A full bar nice waitresses and bartenders. I've been several times after work for a good strong drink. It is a great place to go with a group of friends or maybe on a date. I have not been disappointed eating anything off of the menu. They have music playing a mix between soul, r&b, and rap. This occasion I didn't partake of the adult beverages they range around $10 - $12 for the top shelf drinks. They do have happy hour specials. I believe a bottle of wine is $21 during that period. I brought my mom here for Sunday Gospel Brunch. We were sat within 15min. Food came out quickly and was super hot. Our server could barely pick it up. I ordered the shrimp n grits- too spicy and not enough grits. Mom ordered blackened tilapia- delicious! The sides come in such huge portions and each in its own dish which I really appreicated because it made sharing easy. We had cabbage- the best, sweet potatoes-decent, greens-good, and mac n cheese- soupy but alright. The fried bread best was the best and most unique thing they had. The live band was great! They made up for the not so stellar service by our server. I wish the band took song request and had a tip jar. I would come back but only for the band and bread alone. Really bad experience...The waitresses was pleasant, we were seated quickly, then it all went downhill, 25 minutes before someone took even our drunk order. The table in front of us sat down 30 minutes after us and got their food and drinks first . The food was basic bar food, and the drinks were so so. It took way too long to get our food and drinks!. This restaurant was unbelievable... when I first walked in I thought such a nice restaurant, as I sat down to order my food, the music was so incredibly loud, that me and my colleagues had to practically scream the order. The music had so much cussing that it was almost impossible to enjoy your food with such vulgar language blasting on sky high in your ear. While eating dinner which the food did not taste bad. Their were a group of young teenage girls who stood up in the middle of the floor right by our table and shook their asses with booty shorts on and made loud noises and danced while we were eating. It was disgusting I was pissed off. And so were my colleagues. To top it off 30 minutes after we'd left the restaurant I started having severe stomach pains. Turns out I caught food poising from the restaurant! ‍ I was so sick I had to pull over on the side of the road and ended up puking everywhere! In my hair, on my shoes. And I told someone about my experience and turns out another friend of mine went there a couple months back and the same exact thing happened to her with the food poisoning. Too loud music, mediocre food, and TERRIBLE service. I don't know why someone would do that to broccoli. Just add butter, a little salt and some garlic and walk away. What you did was an atrocity. Yo Gotti, you gotta step your game up!! Talk to Nas!! Go to LA and check out Sweet Chick! It's almost like Privé is going for the shabby chic look, but it's just shabby dude. ADVICE: 1. Make this a lounge with a fully stocked bar and get rid of the kitchen, OR hire a second cook. It doesn't make sense to have a menu with 5+ items and only one cook. And I can't think of anywhere with more than 4 tables that only has one cook. 2. Don't serve steak without a steak knife!! It's not like I had some buttery filet mignon...it was a tough a** NY strip. 3. Redecorate and make it look like this place is worth something. Knock out the wall if you want everyone to be able to enjoy the music. If you want to separate the lounge and restaurant, put the bar in the middle so people enjoying dinner can look at the band!!! 4. Fire half the service staff. Just because the girls are cute, doesn't mean they're effective. We waited at least an hour and a half for a second glass of water, but there were 6 servers, 3 bartenders, and only 4 tables were occupied! You don't have to be a restauranteur to know that this place was run very ineffectively. 5. HIRE SOMEONE WHO HAS RUN A SUCCESSFUL BAR/RESTAURANT AS A CONSULTANT. Like I said, this place is shabby!!! Mind you, we dropped like $300 on our combined checks and were treated like our party of 8 tried to split one drink. I'm just a girl from LA, who likes good food and a good restaurant experience. I would not go here if you consider yourself a foodie, or someone who likes craft cocktails. I went to Prive' for a birthday dinner and really enjoyed it. I ordered the half pound burger with fries and wine. The wine was on special so it was only 4 and I got 2 glasses and the burger was only 11.00. Overall the burger was really good and huge. Ms. Mims constantly came around to ensure that we were ok and even another server periodically checked on us. The only downfall was our server. She was really really slow, another server explained to us that she is from Russia and is trying to adjust to things here, which is understandable. Overall, I will dine here again. Last night my friends and I went to Prive' Restaurant (owned by the rapper Yo Gotti). I had a very bad experience , as did all my guests that attended my husband's birthday dinner. Don't forget this small detail- We had reservations for 8:30pm. The first disappointing issue was, when it was time to order drinks, half the table wanted sweet tea. The waitress tells us, I'm sorry but we ran out of tea. WTF, who runs out of tea? This is the south. This is unheard of in all my years of living. Yall don't have sweet or unsweetened tea ?! Ain't this bout a .......!!!! So, I asked the waitress, well ok, so let us know upfront what else are you out of before we start ordering. She said, "Oh that's it. We got everything else." So, we all order appetizers and drinks. It took like 30 minutes to get our drinks. Mind you, the restaurant was not crowded AT ALL. It was less than half full. So, she brings the appetizers and we realize there were only 2 table settings for 8 people to use. We had to wait another 5 minutes to get eating utensils. Meanwhile, our wings and microwaved spinach dip was getting cold. So we all are socializing and waiting and waiting and waiting.....well damn is she coming back to take our order? As I pan the room, I'm looking for the waitress. I don't see her but I do see the other wait staff busy doing the "Wobble" with other guests.....anyway. So, the waitress FINALLY comes back to take our order. They have a new menu item that includes chicken. So my friend, orders the NEW chicken dish. Waitress-"I'm sorry but we ran out of chicken." Ok so now yall are really killing me. This can't be real! Are we on Candid Camera or Punkd?! Lady I know we just asked you was there anything else yall don't have before we start ordering and you said no. How in the hell do you run out of CHICKEN in Memphis? The only chicken available was chicken tenders for the chicken and waffles dish! This can't get worse Lord. So, my dinner party is cracking all kinds of jokes because this sounds plum crazy right now. Oh back to the drinks....my friend and I ordered a drink and they were aweful and bitter. My friend informs the waitress that the drink is wayyyy to strong and not good. She comes back and tells my friend, "My manager said we can't take alcoholic beverages off the bill but we can try and add something to tone it down." So, my friend said to just bring her a side of pineapple juice. So......we continue to wait on our food. By the time we get our dinner it is officially 10pm. I began to eat my ribeye, loaded mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. Why was my broccoli ice cold. At this point, I just didn't even eat the broccoli. We all eat and pay for our meals ( I wasn't too happy about the gratuities being included when my service was shitty) Don't get me wrong, I ALWAYS leave a tip and not just a dollar. But when your service is shitty why should I give you an 18% tip? Anyway, this story gets worse. We all walk out to the parking lot, say our goodbyes and disperse to our vehicles. Why in the hell does my friend's daughter and her boyfriend comes walking back towards us quickly? SOMEBODY DONE BROKE IN THEIR DAMN CAR! They stole both tvs that were located in the headrest, the radio, money, popped the trunk and stole his damn speaker!!!! This is too much for one night. Mind you Prive' has security or let me say this, we saw 3 security vehicles riding around and the area around the restaurant is very well lit on the corner of a busy intersection of Winchester and Riverdale. Needless to say the security inside Prive was notified. The lady calls the police and of course how long it took them to come, we don't know. We got tired of waiting..... The poor people had to ride all the way back to Jonesboro Arkansas with a busted window, and naked car. I try and always support black owned businesses. I was told that this was an upscale restaurant, therefore I had high expectations. The atmosphere was really nice and the bathroom was extremely clean. I was somewhat disappointed with the lack of choices on the menu along with the prices. Your sides were a la carte. We ordered the spicy shrimp pasta and the portion size was approximately the size of an appetizer. (cost $18) We also ordered the herb chicken half, the skin was seasoned perfectly, but the inside was dry and tasteless, it too was $18. We ordered a side of asparagus ($4) There were an excessive amount of employees just standing around. I feel that the type of restaurant they want to portray can not be effective in the parking lot of a strip mall. The highlight of the night was the attitude of our waiter (Markus). She was not attentive to my party's needs and she reeked of alcohol and she acted like she was on drugs. I was disappointed and would not recommend her to anyone. I didn't have a very good experience there at all for it to be my first time...We was there for a birthday dinner and we were sitting at the table about 25 mins before someone even came to the table to see what we needed to drink...After waiting that long another server approached us, apologized about the wait with a manager offered us an appetizer for us waiting...after about 20 more mins the drinks from the bar finally came and one of our guest entrees....everyone else was just looking at her eating alone about 10 min, at that time we still didn't have even the appetizer they offered us. Make a long story short our food finally came and the appetizer still didnt hit the table until we asked for it. The app was the last thing to make to the table and we later found out that it was only 3 servers on the floor and about 7 large parties including 30 people in the white room. There was no way possible for any server to take care of us properly and help each other at that point. We finally asked for our tickets and told the server that we really needed to be out of there by 12 due to it being our friend's birthday and we had a surprise for her at 12. We finally got tickets that were all wrong and ended up leaving 20 mins after the time we needed to leave and we arrived there at about 9:45..more than enough time to eat and be out by 12..the only thing that made this night a little better was the server Natasha... she was very concerned and kind hearted and wanted to do whatever she could to make us happy! She was great and she wasnt even our server! She showed more concern than anyone that approached the table. read more
