Thieves!!! Fraudulent Dealership! All they are interested in is stealing your money by up-selling services you don't need. You MUST avoid Priority Toyota in Hampton, VA at all cost when servicing your Toyota vehicle. This place is the worst of the worst of dealerships, and I know from experience because I have lived in NY, TX, SC, GA and now VA. I serviced my car at Toyota dealerships in all these states because there are certain things only they can do. I was up for a 90k service on my 2002 Toyota Highlander which called for Timing Belt change and Engine Coolant flush, among other minor checks. I called a week before to schedule, and they gave me Monday, August 15 at 9am. During the appointment, I specifically asked what the price was for the service and they quoted something north of $800. I then asked for a breakdown of the cost...that is when began to degenerate into an argument, fraud and lies. They started with coolant which they quoted as $120, and timing belt as $199.95, Cabin Air Filter $25 (got it for $6 from Amazon), Engine Air Filter $25 (got it from Amazon at $9.95), etc. etc., They ten went on tire rotation, oil change, and a host of other inflated cost items. I then insisted that they only schedule me for Coolant Flush and Timing Belt. When I arrived with the car, first they could not find my appointment, and then when they found it they started up-selling me on water pump replacement, etc. etc. which I did not request or need. And, then when I said no, they said the coolant flush was now $169.95. So in order to avoid any confusion, I declined the coolant flush and told them to change only replace timing belt and perform VA State inspection. Well, I should have known better not to request the inspection...but once again, I trusted they would use some judgment. At 430pm, I received a call from Priority that my vehicle failed the state inspection for windshield wipers and rear brakes. The lady on the call (a Jennifer: they all call themselves Asst Service Manager) said the wiper was $19 each and installation was free, and the rear brake pads would cost $250. So I indicated to her that she can go ahead and issue a failure sticker and I will get the wiper and replace the brake pads myself. 30 minutes later, she called back that my car was ready...I went over to pick up the car, paid them and was given the keys. When I turned the car on, Check Engine light and VSC light were both on. I went inside to ask how that could happen since both lights were not on when we dropped off vehicle. Things quickly turn south by me asking that simple question. They said the check engine light was on when I dropped it off....I was like, WOW!! How could they manufacture such a lie in my face...I asked why I would bring the car for timing belt change when I knew the check engine light was on. They then went on another lie tirade...that they were trying to tell me but I wouldn't listen to them. Wow!!! By this point I was really fuming for a bunch of semi-trade school grads to call me a graduate engineer a liar in my face. At this point I realized, I was never going to be able to make sense of anything these bunch of trade school guys had to say anymore...so I left. I drove to Walmart, where I picked up 2 Michelin windshield wipers for $5.95 each...that I installed right away. I logged on to Amazon and ordered Raybestos Premium Ceramic rear brake pads for $25. I will install that this weekend and to save my sanity and avoid these street legal liars, I plan to send the car to a mechanic and rather pay additional $16 to have the inspection sticker issued. I have also had the coolant flushed at another dealership for $99.95. Oh, by the way I presented my 15 percent Costco rebate for with Priority Toyota printed on it but they said they cannot accept it. read more
