I rarely leave reviews, but this experience deserves one. I purchased my vehicle from Suttle Motors a few years ago and included a tire warranty. Recently, at around 70k miles, I needed new tires and reached out just to understand my coverage. I left a voicemail -- no response. A week later, I called again and was transferred multiple times. When I finally spoke with someone, I explained I needed an oil change and wanted to discuss my tires. The representative immediately dismissed me and said tire replacement "is not a thing," without even trying to understand what I was asking. Because of that interaction, I took my business elsewhere (Sam's Club), where I received quick and professional service. I still went back to Suttle the next day for an oil change. I arrived at 7:45 AM and was still waiting after 9:00 AM. In total, I've spent over 4 hours across two days dealing with poor communication and long wait times. I have had horrible experience with service department. I needed my. alternator replaced and had a battery that worked just fine. The alternator was covered by my extended warranty. When I had car towed to Suttle, the service department refused to diagnose the problem unless I purchased a new battery first. So I had to buy a new battery that I did not need, so they could diagnose, and the alternator, which was the only problem, was replaced. Another situation, I have slow leak from a tire. Has two tiny nails in tire, and I am sent a text that they could patch, but they recommend replacing tire that would cost $380. I reply back, please patch. The tire was about a year old or less. I get no response. I go to repair station, and then I am told I only have the option to replace the tire, because was two nails rather than one. The photo they originally sent me showed two nails, so that wasn't new information. Then, they claimed they could not patch because of type of tires. read more

My insurance agency, The Hartford, removed my car from Hampton Collision Center in Hampton and transferred it to Suttle Motors in Newport News. Hampton Collision had my car for over 30 days (they originally estimated 4 to 5 days) without ever attempting to do the rear bumper replacement for my car (see my very negative review on my horrible experience with Hampton Collision Center). I live in Virginia Beach. Hampton Collision had moved my car 31 miles away from their Virginia Beach facility to their Hampton facility without my permission. The Hartford recommended Suttle Motors. My car was towed to their facility on Thursday, May 11th. Their staff kept me fully informed on what was happening with my car. The following day, Friday, they evaluated it and told me all that was needed was a rear bumper replacement and painting. They completed all the repairs by the following Thursday. The car was towed back to my home in Virginia Beach the next day. The bumper replacement and paint job for the rear were flawless. They had also detailed my car inside and out. The swirl marks that at accrued on my 2018 Hyundai Sonata over the years were nearly all gone. My wife and I said it felt and looked like a new car when we drove it. I highly recommend Suttle Motors for body repairs based upon this experience. The only reason I might not use them in the future is the distance from their shop in Newport News to my home in Virginia Beach and that dang tunnel between us! Then again I might if insurance pays for the tows because I would know that my vehicle would be fixed right and on time. read more

Whenever I take my old beat up old Toyota to Suttle Motors Cadillac dealer the customer service is always great but today I needed a favor. My dogs retractable leash got tangled in the tire last night. When I drove off after looking for it nothing dropped down. Absolutely convinced it was stuck somewhere in the car I asked Sam on the green team if someone could put my car on the lift. She made an appointment for later that afternoon but wasn't there when I arrived. After sitting there for a few minutes the 2 ladies behind her desk inquired about my visit. After I told them these ladies got on the ground literally crawling under my car looking 4 that leash, they even popped the hood and checked the motor and a gentleman service guy gave them more flashlights. It was no where 2 be found. I was dumbfounded because I heard and saw it when I disconnected it from my doggie harness. One lady said it probably got wrapped around something when you drove off. I carefully retracted my steps from last night and sure enough it was wrapped around one of the sign poles where I was parked. I just wanted to say that was exemplary customer service and it wasn't even a charge. Reminds me of the old days when merchants just helped you cause you needed help. I commend the hiring department for having the insight to hire people that are professional and treat customers with respect and support. Honestly had an excellent experience yesterday on 04/01/2021. Drove in with my 2yr old and talked to Tony about a Jetta trip I was interested in, he let me check out the interior and underneath car and hood no problem. Traded in my Dodge Dart which had more than its fair share of problems and couldn't be happier to be rid of it. The paperwork was quick and easy going and I was finished in about an hr swapped the cars out right there and I was on my way. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a dealership. I spent $70,000 on a used car. Had to fill it with gas once I left the dealership. In addition it had a cracked rim. The dealership offered to fix the rim and I had to convince them that is not an option. They then replaced it. I scheduled an appointment ti have one tire switched onto the rim. Advisor said it'll take 20 minutes. After 3 hours I demanded an explanation. They got their tire machine stuck on my rim. After 30 more minutes they finally got it off. I told them to put the new rim in the car and I'll take it somewhere to. get switched. Oh, and by the way, they completely scratched the rim while trying to swap it. I have also left 3 messages for the general manager snd have yet to receive a call back. read more

Review of the service side of the dealership: Everything went well! I unfortunately failed inspection and chose elsewhere to fix it but I got it re-inspected here. The service members were kind and very accommodating. I love the Starbucks coffee machine in the waiting area. I do wish they had more magazines available. One of the customer service members was walking around offering people cold water and snacks such as honey buns, oreos, chips and crackers. The wait was long but it was a busy day. I walked around to the show room to ask for a piece of paper and a pencil. The person I spoke with was extremely nice and gave my son and I an entire legal pad to draw on while we waited. My car was towed to them and sat on their lot for 11 days and they had no idea until I called for a status update. A couple days later, they deemed my car a total loss. They said that they would cover any overages on my rental due to their 11 day error. My rental allowance ran out yesterday. Suttle said that they are not going to cover any overages because, as they said, USAA allows 5 days after the the vehicle has been deemed a total loss. USAA policy states no such thing. It's 5 days from when payment is received (not yet received) or when the $900 is used completely, whichever comes first. I'd have had plenty of money had they not SAT ON MY F*CKING CAR FOR 11 DAYS! I'd give negative 5 stars if possible. One is too good for them. read more

I used to think very highly of Suttle for their great customer service and attention to detail. However my most recent experience was leaving much to be desired. I've always brought any of my vehicles there for paint work, touch ups, and ding removals. They have always done a wonderful job and did this time as well. Although this is great, they also returned my car in a different way than which I brought it to them. I got it back with scratches on my window glass, and my car in dynamic sport mode (which takes about 3-4 button clicks to change to that mode). I bring the scratches to their attention and that they were not there when I dropped the car off, and they tell me that it wasn't caused by them and it was caused by road grime, even though I had just had the car detailed about a week prior by the dealer and that the dealer noted any imperfections. I now have to pay to get my window replaced out of pocket which is going to cost me roughly $1,007.20 for laminated glass, tint, and labor. All for something that could've been avoided if they were more careful or their employees didn't take my car out for a joy ride. Especially since I have a tracker on my car. Overall, the paint job they do is very well done, but be sure to take pictures and have proof of your cars condition before you leave it with them, or you could be in the same situation I'm in right now. As much as I want to leave them 1 star because they damaged my car, that would be bias based on one thing, when what I brought it there for was done very well. 3 out of 5 for the great paint work, but 2 deducted for the damage to my car, and their neglect to fix it. read more

Replaced my headlight with a defective part. Took 2 weeks of calling to reschedule the service. Told me that my car was ready, I picked it up and the light was not fixed. Spoke with the manager Steve who lied about the construction of the headlight--said they replaced only the shell and the whole assembly was not covered. That however is not true about a 2006 Lexus IS350. It comes in one complete assembly with the ballast attached. Called me back a few days later and said the replacement part was no longer under warranty anyways. Just an absolutely horrible experience and massive waste of time. read more

I found myself in a dangerous predicament because of Shane Outland who I bought my car from. Thank God nothing happened to me or my new car. When we did the test drive for the car he explained what all the buttons and controls in the car were for and how to navigate the touchscreen and change different settings and access various controls/options. I found him to be very helpful and knowledgeable about the car as he should be. I asked how much gas was in the car because I wasn't able to tell because it looked to be either a full tank or on E. For someone brand new to the car it's next to impossible to know the difference unless you were familiar with it. He was not sure either but still assured me it was a full tank and I trusted him because he said it with so much confidence and was knowledgeable about the car in general so why shouldn't I believe him? Also, I assumed it was standard practice to keep enough gas in the car for test drives and having it be on E wouldn't make sense. When it came time for me to take my new car home, I hit the highway and after just a few minutes of high speed driving in the left lane I started noticing error messages coming from the car and had no idea what was going on. I never in my life drove a car on E so I had no idea what was going on. I thought the messages the car was giving me was not a big deal but started moving over to the middle and right lane with the intention of continuing to drive on but to pull over to the right shoulder in case I needed to (still not knowing I was on E) and then I started to realize I was losing speed. I still didn't know what was going on because I never experienced this before. I didn't turn on my hazards while this was happening because I didn't know where it was since it was a brand new car to me and I didn't expect to need to use it so soon. I finally knew I needed to pull over because I was losing so much speed and made it to the right shoulder just in time as the car completely lost speed and came to a stop. This whole situation occurred in a matter of seconds. Maybe thirty seconds or so? Have no idea. What happened to me is completely unacceptable, unprofessional, and negligent on Shane's part. It was his job to make sure that he knew how to read the fuel gauge and make sure the tank had sufficient gas. Because he told me it was full when it was in fact on E I was put at risk of a car accident on the highway. I've been driving for over twenty years and this was the first time I experienced running out of gas. Shane put me in a difficult spot and I am lucky nothing happened. Lesson: if you are uncertain about something make sure it is addressed sufficiently and don't trust the salesperson completely. read more

I bought a 2011 Chevy suburban from Suttle motors back in August 2022. When I first drove the vehicle off the lot I had to bring the vehicle back to the lot because it was cutting off while I was driving. So I Had to turn around and leave the vehicle at the dealership for almost a month because they Couldn't figure out what was going on. When I finally got my vehicle in September after I bought it in August they assured me everything was fixed everything was fine and the vehicle was working. As I drove my vehicle not even two weeks later the problem was back on my vehicle I took the vehicle back up to Suttle motors and was assured that my vehicle would be fixed once again this is the third time I had to take the vehicle to Suttle motors I had to speak to Mr. Miles Suttle because the service team which is the Green Team at Suttle Motors told me they was not going to do anything everything that was wrong with the truck they wanted me to come out of pocket after I only had the truck for seven months and everything that was wrong with the truck was over almost $3000 I had a warranty at that time and was told my warranty wouldn't cover anything my issue is I'm still having a problem with the truck here it is May 2023 I have reached out to Mr. Miles once again and he passed me on to the service manager the service manager told me very disrespectfully that he's not doing a thing to my truck anymore mind you I didn't cause the problems with the truck Mr. Miles did assured me he would take care of my vehicle and he put me in a rental for one day the same day I had the rental the dealership was harassing me about bringing the vehicle back because our truck was ready the same day I dropped it off now (how) my issue is that I am still having the same problem going on with that truck, they didn't give me any reports when they did service my truck and I feel like it was a lot of racism in that dealership I can point out everybody at the dealership that was very disrespectful and rude to me even though I make my payments on time I haven't had any accidents since I had the truck and I haven't caused any issues so I am very upset with this service I feel like they are discriminating against me because I am a black woman And I am looking into lawyers because I was sold a lemon and Suttle Motors does not want to do anything about it when they sold me the vehicle the first day of me driving off the lot and every day since I've had problems with it and every since then it's been a problem with this truck I have proof that I reached out to everybody that I can reach out to at the dealership everybody gave me the runaround they were rude they were disrespectful and they definitely kick me out the dealership without a care in the world I am writing this review on this dealership not because I want attention or I want to get them in trouble but I know my rights as a buyer and I know that if I came back to your dealership about the same problem over two and three times that means somebody is not doing what they supposed to do and the service Manager spoke to me very rudely and told me even if I bought the truck back up there for the same issue they won't do anything about it and I felt like that was very unprofessional know when I got the truck it already had issues before I even got a chance to fully get it on the road from the dealership.
