Came in early for my 9am "appointment". Went to check on it at noon and "it was next in line". Typical excuses of were very busy today, or it's lunchtime, which me being without my car is cutting into my lunchtime, but that's ok since I'm not in a customer service career field. I'm still sitting here in the waiting lobby, 3 and a half hours now after my "appointment". Will not be returning here for a single thing. Ever. Yelp really needs to update their app to allow for zero stars, because having to give this place 1 star is beyond bogus for the "services" I received. I thought doctors appointment were bad with the waiting. But this far exceeds that hands down. Again, will never return here for a single thing. Quick update. Currently 1:02pm. Still hasn't been back. Leaving without it even being seen/checked. Absolutely egregious. 0 stars for days. Can't stress enough, will never return read more

Mr.Cesar closed the deal for me and my 2026 equinox. They were able to get me close to my desired monthly budget, didn't get annoyed with me and what my desires were and even showed me multiple vehicles and models until we settled on my car. Cesar thank you so much for being kind and patient with me. You were great to work with and so was your manager! read more

I'm honestly so disappointed because I really loved the previous service done for my car here. I've had two appointments to get my spark plugs put in. The first one we waited 3 hours before they told us they didn't have them in stock. We rescheduled the appointment but then they booked us for the wrong day and were overbooked so they couldn't fix the appointment. Now we're waiting again for the third appointment just to get this one thing done. read more

I am very disappointed in their services. I had an oil change appointment. Literally, we sat there for 3 hours, and the service supervisor said, "Your vehicle is being serviced." I said my truck is behind you hadn't moved. Literally, he came back in 15 minutes and said the work was done. He lied; the tires were not rotated, we put numbers on them, and they were not swapped, and no oil change was done. The sticker was the same. This is horrible. It's like they do not want to service the vehicles that they have sold you. Just horrible..... read more

My daughter's 2018 Chevy Equinox broke down, and Kelly and the service department were wonderful to work with. They provided a clear quote, completed the repair within two days, and delivered the car on schedule and within budget. I've taken my car to this body shop twice, and both times were disappointing. The first time, my car's liner wasn't fixed properly, causing the tire to rub against it. Eventually, the liner came off while I was driving on the highway--a major safety issue! This happened after someone hit my car, and I had to bring it here due to insurance. They offered to fix it but never even ordered the part. Fast forward two years later, I decided to give them another chance after getting rear-ended. I specifically asked about the process to ensure parts were ordered ahead of time, and they told me it would take two weeks. I even called back to confirm and let them know I'd still like to drop my car off and get a rental. When I was finally ready to bring it in, they told me they never ordered the parts, even though I asked before I left the first day if there was anything I needed to sign to prevent delays. The worst part? On the day I was heading to drop my car off, they suddenly changed their story, saying the parts could now be ordered and arrive the next day--so which is it? Two weeks or one day? I've now found another body shop that resolved everything in just one day, unlike this dealership that wasted two weeks. I won't be coming back. read more

Went to Hampton Trevor lady to get my 2021. Blazer, fixed with the special needs, recall with the thermostat that needs to replace the fan. Will continue to run even after you turn the car off. All lights on the dashboard. Go off. It's a problem.I made my appointment the girl confirmed that.Yes, this is the special needs warranty that there wouldn't be any charge for anything. While hours later, COD called to see if the car was done and was told that they found nothing in the computer which is bullshit, because the computer hold to every glitch in your car from day one I wanted the coach that they pulled. I wanted the actual paper they couldn't produce it. They won the tell me the codes, I said, no. No, no, I'm not stupid. I can go to another mechanic and had them. Read these codes and make sure they're correct. Then, they told me that it was gonna be $92. And 50 cents, because they didn't find anything. And I said, no, no, no, we were told, this is under their special needs. Warranty under Chevrolet. He said, well, nothing showed up and I was like, well, of course it didn't. You didn't do anything so arguing with the manager of service who she is a very ignorant young woman and so is the girl who makes the appointment. I cannot believe the staff's demeanor was horrible. I've never seen two women be so catty in my life. After telling them I will be down to pick up my car. They told me they will not release it until I pay. The $92.99, I said, I'll be down with a check. In the meantime, I called Casey Chevrolet. I love forget her name, but she was knowledgeable. She told me the exact same thing that the recall special needs. What's going on?Nobody should charge me.I actually bought the extended warranty. What does even worse on and on and on?So here's a lesson to be learned. Do not use hampton chevrolet. They are not customer base. I originally come from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and I've never seen a car dealership act and treat customers so badly as me and my elderly husband was treated. I am going to Casey auto. read more

Hampton Chevy is an absolute joke. Their sales people are absolutely terrible and dish honest. Never buy a car from Hampton Chevrolet. I will tell you my experience originally bought a car from Hampton Chevy and before buying it they were trying to hide the fact that there was a massive leak in the rear main seal when I brought it to their attention, they seemed disappointed that I had discovered this issue. It took a lot of convincing to get the dealership to repair it before I bought it. my main issue with this is that they were trying to sell somebody essentially a ticking time bomb what they would've done if I didn't buy it and sell it to someone who wouldn't check the underside of the car and let it be their issue. After they supposedly fix the rear main seal They left me with a cracked exhaust manifold. And said there was no issues with the car at all. The worst part I guess it's all really bad but the worst part is that I paid the vehicle off on site with no loan and it took over nine months for them to get their heads out of their butt and get me my title. They are absolutely clueless and it took many calls and emails to get figured out. It seems like they only deal with people who know nothing about cars! read more

What started as a positive experience, turned negative. I believe I was sold a vehicle that Hampton Chevrolet knew to be faulty. Getting repair coordinated was painful and I was on the hook to pay half of the repair cost, which they did not estimate accurately. Was Super excited after purchasing a new 2021 Silverado (not from Hampton Chevrolet, that's another review) and looking forwards to adding some new assist steps because mine truck did not come with any. So after being told not to, I took a chance and went to the parts department at" First Team Hampton Chevrolet." Everything was going fine, the parts rep was super nice and informative. He also went out of his way to show me how to redeem my rewards points to save me some money on my purchase. Was told that the part would arrive the next day by 10:00 am which was great for me! The sale rep then led me out to the body shop rep to set me up an installment appointment for 1:00 pm the next day. Told me the install takes about an hour. I was set! I took off work the next day (this afternoon) to have the parts installed. Went into the waiting room right outside the part department to the waiting room. I found this a good time to take a little nap. Forty-five minutes later a service rep comes into the waiting room looking for me. He informs me that the parts did not come in and will be here tomorrow. This was a fail! With a name like "First Team" you would expect Hampton Chevrolet to act like it. There was plenty of things they could have done to rectified this problem. For starters, they could have called me that morning and let me know the part did not arrive, they had my number. Credibility goes a long way with me. Being my first time visiting Hampton Chevrolet they made a negative impression on me because they have shown they are not dependable. In addition, I assume "First Team" has something to do with customers first. Well, I was not first in this case. I wasted a full days pay of work for a service that I never received. As far as I am concerned Hampton Chevrolet should install my part for free, considering the amount of money I paid for is and money I lost by taking the day off. This was not First Team Service at all! Get it together Hampton Chevrolet! Vance S read more

Had an appointment for diagnostic service at 8:15. Dropped off at 7:45 with a promise of a phone call explaining work needed from Ray my "Guest Relations Representative". At this time Ray was very professional and we even chatted about the owner Mr Wood's impressive sound habit of being in the office daily. Around 230 I began calling looking for an update. 6 phone unanswered calls and 2 unanswered voicemails later I reluctantly returned to Hampton Chevy in person around 345 for an update. My "Guest Relations" representative Ray was a complete prick. After an eye roll and malicious compliance answering my request for an update he returned with the news that my vehicle had yet to be looked at but was "next" in line and they'd call me in an hour. That wasn't gonna work. Got my keys and left. What a zoo. Hard to believe they are still operating with that type of dick-move performance in the service center. Mr Wood would be dissatisfied. Won't return. Save yourself the time. A once flourishing business has gone to shit with the majority of the rest of the American workforce. read more

I am beyond impressed with the collision center here, so much so I think I would recommend them to friends and family. When it came to choosing a body shop to repair my car, this being my first time ever in a car crash, Hampton Chevrolet was my insurance companies preferred body shop - and i'm so glad we went to them. The damage the rear end of the vehicle sustained was substantial. The entire back of the car needed to be replaced. We arrived on the 27th November, signed the car in with the collision center (who were already expecting our arrival at 09:30,) and were called the 14th December saying they expected the car to be fixed the next day. Guess what, 15th December - it's done. They called at 1pm to say we could take her home. The entire time the car was in their possession, we were updated every step of the way by our assigned rep. Text messages, emails and voicemails of the progress were provided. The collision center made the whole process super easy, and the team here were very supportive. My car looks new again! 5* for the team here!! read more

I have a water leak in my truck. I asked around about who could fix this and was referred to First Team Automotive. I was told they were a big organization that serviced any vehicle and stood behind their work. I called the call center and asked if they could help me with my water leak. I was assured they could. They made an appointment for me at First Team Chevrolet and assured me it would be worth waiting almost 2 weeks. I live in Smithfield and needed to arrange a ride to drop off my vehicle on Sunday night. I got a call first think on Monday morning from the service advisor who informed me that First Team does not do water leaks and that I needed to come get my truck. This cost me a $30 uber drive and 2 hours of work. When I arrived I asked to take to someone to complain about my service and was told the Service manager was out but I could look around for the general manager if I wanted to. When I called the call center back they put me on hold and then sent me to voicemail. I did not receive a call back. They did give me the name of a company in VA beach who they said might be able to help me. He was very nice and agreed to help but also mentioned that he worked for all of the First Team Dealerships?????? So why not me??????? This morning I got a text from Hampton Chevrolet tell me I missed my appointment yesterday and asking if I want to reschedule???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? When I called back, there was a round of voicemail prompts leading no where. I would recommend steering clear of First Team Automotive and this dealership. read more

Brought my 2017 Chevy Volt in for warranty work to have the BECM replaced (known issue on Volts). The vehicle had to be towed in to their dealership due to the issue, and the engine control module fuse was pulled to allow the steering to be unlocked (the BECM failing prevents the car from moving or steering). I told them this over the phone. I told them it was the BECM due to pulling the codes myself, but understood they had to do their own troubleshooting which is fine. They did not diagnose it as a BECM, but reprogrammed the Hybrid Control Module (which is required to clear the BECM hard lockout to get the car to drive again). They said they test drove it and everything was working as it should. The charge was over $400 for the diagnosis and reprogram, which was fine if the issue was fixed. I took the car home 4 miles, and the next time I started it the same issue came back. I had the car towed back to the dealership, and this time they diagnosed it as the BECM and replaced it under warranty. I asked about if I could get the diagnosis charge refunded due to this being warranty work. The manager (Joe Bonny) was nearby, and the service advisor asked him to assist. He was extremely unprofessional and said "Is this the volt that came in with the fuse pulled for diagnosis, yeah the customer is not getting a refund". It was not necessarily the answer that annoyed me, but his attitude and the way he was combative and very disrespectful towards me. He also said, rudely "if you want to further discuss you can come back to my office, but you're not getting a refund". I will work through Chevy corporate regarding this, as obviously the dealer is not even interested in discussion, and at the very basic level won't offer the customer basic respect in communication. I own multiple Chevy vehicles and am new to the area, stationed here in the military. I will NEVER go back to this dealer again, neither for service or something as basic as a windshield wiper and I will never recommend them for anyone I know in the area, neither for service or vehicle purchases. The unprofessional attitude of their SERVICE MANAGER is unacceptable. Even if the answer is not what the customer is requesting at least reply in a respectful manner, all I did was ask the question. read more

I could go on for probably 2-3 hours with my negative issues at this dealership. I work in customer service and make a living off of customer service/tips so I try to overlook a lot of things.. ALOT of things!!! Now I am beyond that point. Recently my 2018 Chevrolet equinox has been riding a little bumpy. No problem, had a routine oil change and tire rotation scheduled for yesterday. After picking it up, it drove EXTRA BUMPY AND SHAKY AT THE STEERING WHEEL!! To the point I felt my safety was at risk. I had to call the dealership multiple times to finally get ahold of someone. Finally got in touch and was told 'it's pretty late in the day (2:30) so you need to get in soon' I only have one vehicle, and had to pick my son up from school at 3:30, his school does not provide bus services. I was worried it wouldn't be out in time. So I stopped at a small mom and pop mechanic just to see if my car was safe to drive and come to find out I have a 'tire belt seperated' the owner of the shop was soo kind not to charge me and told me to drive slow with my hazards on, go get my son from school and then go buy a new tire. Mind you, I have a video from the dealership yesterday showing ZERO problems with my car and ZERO recommendations!!! read more

What can I say, I had a vibration in my old Jeep for the longest time. Lot of adjustment and still couldn't get rid of it. Talked to Joe Bonney in the service department and brought it up for him to look at it. He gave it the once over and took it in the shop to put it on the lift. Took him about 10 min to find the problem. He told me that I needed a new front driveshaft since mine had dents in it. They put the NEW front driveshaft on and now I hit interstate speeds without a single vibration. His knowledge of the vehicle was unmatched. I had aftermarket parts on it and without hesitation he knew who the manufacturer was just by looking at it. Thanks again Hampton Chevrolet Service department for getting me back on the road, now in comfort! read more

Huge huge huge fan of this dealership!! I walked in skeptical because I was recently almost screwed at the last two places so I was hoping for, but not betting on a Hail Mary here. Anthony Middleton my salesman was awesome. He made sure I was hydrated with cold water and even offered me snacks. Test drives were fun and not pushy with Anthony. Even finance and management wanted to make sure I was happy. Here's the thing, everyone wasn't used car salesman pushy, they genuinely cared about me as a person and didn't want me to spend more than I was comfortable with, even if they lost the sale. First of all the sales team did a great job getting me the new truck I wanted. Great job by them The service department is absolutely terrible. The guy told me they called a few minutes earlier and left a message, but I still don't have any missed calls or messages. Oh well. The best part was they replaced a tail light I had out for free! Joey, my sales agent, was amazing! He was attentive to small details (remembering my family and car name), he was very knowledgeable about cars, and was easily understanding of what I needed in a car. Hampton Service Dept is lacking in management, professionalism and common courtesy. Had an appointment at 1330 for a state inspection. I got there early hoping I could get it accomplished sooner. Go into the service desk and tell the rep I am here for a state inspection at 1330. She tells me they are at lunch and will be back at 1230. She then asks will you be waiting and I said yes. I also clicked waiting on their website when I scheduled the appointment. I go eat lunch and get back at 1330. I ask the rep are they done with my vehicle and she responds with you are Viniard with a 1330 appointment and I say yes. They have not got to it yet. I go back at 1415 and ask are they complete and she says no but started. Let me ask Mike to find out how much longer. At 1515I go in and tell the rep I want my truck. She says I don't know if they are complete. I dont care I want my truck. Joe, the service manager, gives an excuse about a window to get it accomplished and then says I will go check. As he walks out he has a smirk on his face. He must have found it humorous. I finally get my truck at 1527 and then Joe says in the computer it shows you not waiting for your vehicle. I took that as a cover my butt excuse and finally got my truck. I would rather pay for somebody to complete a state inspection in 30 minutes then blow smoke up my butt blaming the computer.
