Hampton Service Dept is lacking in management, professionalism and common courtesy. Had an appointment at 1330 for a state inspection. I got there early hoping I could get it accomplished sooner. Go into the service desk and tell the rep I am here for a state inspection at 1330. She tells me they are at lunch and will be back at 1230. She then asks will you be waiting and I said yes. I also clicked waiting on their website when I scheduled the appointment. I go eat lunch and get back at 1330. I ask the rep are they done with my vehicle and she responds with you are Viniard with a 1330 appointment and I say yes. They have not got to it yet. I go back at 1415 and ask are they complete and she says no but started. Let me ask Mike to find out how much longer. At 1515I go in and tell the rep I want my truck. She says I don't know if they are complete. I dont care I want my truck. Joe, the service manager, gives an excuse about a window to get it accomplished and then says I will go check. As he walks out he has a smirk on his face. He must have found it humorous. I finally get my truck at 1527 and then Joe says in the computer it shows you not waiting for your vehicle. I took that as a cover my butt excuse and finally got my truck. I would rather pay for somebody to complete a state inspection in 30 minutes then blow smoke up my butt blaming the computer. I will never buy another vehicle from Hampton because of their shabby service department. Horrible service from Joe the so called service person. Dont go!!!! read more

Thanks to George, at Hampton chevy used cars, for his help selling my duramax. It was time to get into a smaller more economical truck. The whole experience was quick and easy. George was very professional, and courteous, as well. I would recommend going to visit Hampton Chevrolet if you need to buy and or sell a used car or truck. George and everyone there are very professional, yet courteous, and will get you in, and or out, of a used vehicle. Thank you Hampton Chevrolet. read more

I purchased a 2019 Nissan Sentra from hampton Chevrolet November 2021. What a big mistake! Had problems with it 2 days after purchasing this car. these people did good by getting it repaired only took 2 weeks. (Wow) Received Sentra back 3 days later wouldn't start. I was stuck at Walmart twice dead in driveway 3 times. Called Hampton Chevrolet back to tell them about problem they told me battery problems wasn't covered by my warranty. smh. Took it to advance auto in December they were kind enough to clean battery cable off. Ran good til January 17. Now it's parked in my driveway deader then a doornail. in the meantime I'm making car payment. Would not recommend this dealership to anyone. And I haven't in fact told about 3 people not to go here. That Kelly girl that's on my team is a rude snob! So very disappointed. No transportation sucks! read more

Went there looking for something specific but found a car that was perfect for me and I appreciated the flexibility of the saleswoman working with me. I've had a few problems though like hidden third party warranties that weren't explained to me that they were an additional $3400. And then when getting everything sent to me, I asked for the plates to be specifically sent to my workplace but they must've not heard or acknowledged and now they are sent to the opposite side of the country. Terrible communication. read more

I have to tell you upfront that I am a very hard sell and I am particularly skeptical of salesmen, especially used car salesman and even more so of used car salesmen who wear cheap, shiny suits and pinky rings. But as fate would have it, in Dec 2017, my beloved 1998 Nissan Altima with 110K miles took it last breath and with no time to waste, I had to get another car. After an exhaustive internet search and going to several used car dealerships including a dealership in Norfolk where the gangster looking salesman had what appeared to be a sculpted penis on his desk, I went to Hampton Chevrolet Mazda and that is where I met Andy Ruckman. I have nothing but accolades for Andy! Andy is a professional. He is knowledgeable, patient, has a great attitude and he knows how to listen. He quickly put me at ease and I did not feel that he was trying to take advantage of me. I actually felt good about spending my hard earned cash at that dealership. Thank you Andy for making my buying experience at Chevy Mazda a pleasurable experience. Caveat - Some of the staff in the service area are not as friendly and courteous as Andy and I will leave it at that. read more

Thanks to the Hampton Chevy service team for helping with a warranty repair issue I had today on my 2017 Corvette. Joe Bonney really helped to make it a great experience and the staff went above and beyond and completed my repair quickly. I will definitely return for more scheduled maintenance work and warranty work as needed. They also have a very clean service area and a great online scheduling tool. Tim M. Hampton,Va read more

Would give them zero stars for poor business practices and questionable business ethics. Too many other dealerships in our area to bother with one that has many stories for why they performed below expectations. Either a training issue or just dishonest. Communication is key for a success business. They either lied to me or their employees do not discuss what vehicles they are selling. Would recommend all my fellow Veterans avoid this business. Not wanting a mom&pop mech, I called two different ford dealerships and was denied service for today and tomorrow(unless I left car overnight ) for a state inspection that I just relized is a month over due. Also, the inspections cost at these two locations, Hampton and williamsburg. So I called Hampton Chevy and the service agent, a young lady said she would be worried it couldn't be completed today, but she would squeeze me in the following morning, stating I could wait for it, being that it would be completed quickly. I work in Hampton so this is percect. Also, I purchased a car from Hampton chevy 5 yrs ago and had a pleasent exp. then as well. I RECOMMEND HAMPTON CHEVY! read more

Always great service by Phil Stallings and his Team...we would never take our vehicles to anyone else!

The service writer was exceptionally nice to my wife and had my vehicle ready in a timely manner. It is a big deal since she had our infant daughter with her. Parents will understand how important schedules and timing are. Thank you! read more

I was never pressured to purchase anything. I felt like Joe T. was more like a friend than a salesman. I was torn between two cars at two different locations, Joe's personality alone made me decide to purchase with Hampton Chevrolet. Everyone in the dealership was professional, extremely helpful, and really nice! read more

HORRIBILE!!!!! These folks are absolute crooks. They won't budge on prices of USED cars and they tried to sell me a car that had CLEARLY had the Odometer doctored. Carfax report odometer reading didn't match and was off by almost 30,000 miles. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!! read more

Very pleased with my seller and everyone that I dealt with at the dealership. I felt comfortable and not pressured to buy a car. My dealer Carl was very with with every question I asked. I was greeted by everyone that I came in touch with as I was walking in the dealership. I loved the experience. OUTSTANDING. Professional employees that will pinpoint every detail and go out of their way to make sure everything is squared away properly. Previously had an issue with Hampton chevy. The whole chevy team worked very hard to resolve my problem and especially the blue team. My experience was great! I felt that everyone from each department was very courteous and knowledgeable about the products and services relevant to their positions. My salesman, Mark was wonderful! He listened to what I wanted and delivered just that. Mark was friendly and not at all 'pushy', he allowed me the opportunity to try and ultimately choose the best vehicle for me and my family. Daniel from finance was a God send. I have no idea how he managed to do what he did for me, but I can't express my satisfaction with the finance rate he was able to obtain for me based on my less than less than (Yeah, I meant to say that twice) perfect credit score. This is my 12th car buying experience and I can honestly say it was the best, including the ones where my only responsibility was to choose the car. I shall return..... read more

My car was sold in 2016 and I have been trying reach someone at your dealership for two years to cancel my warranty. If ever in need of service sacrifice the extra time and distance and take your vehicle to Casey in Newport News. Jim at Hampton was extremely rude and unwelcoming. I went in to learn the process of using my tire and wheel warranty on my 2017 Chevy Tahoe I bought in June. After explaining to me in a manner like I was bothering him he went on to tell me that "he don't know what to tell me". Needless to say I left the establishment and will never return. read more

Unfortunately, the $4100 repair needed this visit was paid by me because my extended warranty expired 16 Dec 2013. Even more unfortunate, the same error code/problems experienced in Aug '13 were the same that necessitated this $4100 repair, because then, when i brought my truck in, your mechanics failed to diagnosis the problem. If they had, the repair would have been taken care of under my warranty. For that reason, coupled with the multiple problems I've had with this 7 year-old Tahoe, I cannot recommend either your service department or your brand of vehicles to anyone. Nor will I ever purchase another GM product and I will not recommend anyone purchase a GM product. I suppose that my only real recourse... read more

What a JOKE!!! Saw a new Silverado online and contacted Ashley at the dealership...worst mistake ever! She provided me the out the door price then when I asked for it in writing it took 3 days for the dealership to contact me to say "Oh were sorry there was a computer glitch the truck is actually almost 4k higher than we quoted". The dealer should have honored the price they listed it for...this is just bad business. STAY AWAY THEY WILL CHANGE THE PRICE ON YOU!! read more

My wife and have been loyal customers for over 24 years and that's where it will end. I setup an online appointment thru "Hampton Chevy Website" when I arrived for my scheduled appt., My service adviser (Jim Goslee) made it clear he didn't think much of on-line appts. and he was very busy with other orders and I would have to wait. Another adviser took over to help me I told them of the issues I was having and was told they would take a look at the problems. They called back and said they could fix the items they found and I authorized the work to be done. I was told that they would also give me an updated "more precise" estimate. Well, after waiting 5 days without a response, I called them and was told my van would not fit on their lifts? First off it took 5 days for you to decide this and still not respond to me, but I called 2 other competitors and they said "that's crazy" They had never heard such a thing. I guess I am still wondering why they did not want to work on my vehicle? I can assure you that I will never ever darken their doors again.......... Craig, Hampton read more

When I arrived at my appointment Monday, Dec 19th (originally for an engine malfunction indicator light fix) the red team clerk noticed my rear left tire was flat and said they were able to patch it up for about $25.00. I was thankful they could perform this unscheduled service right then.Unfortunately, the next day the same tire was flat. After work I got to the repair center (after 5pm - too late to be seen) and they scheduled me on the next day at 3:30pm. I did not make it to the appointment yesterday because the 'patched tire' filled at the appropriate psi level blew out on my way to the appointment. I was disappointed the service provider did not properly patch my tire, or inform me that my tire was in that bad of condition. I am purchasing a new tire now, but still think this experience could have been avoided if 1) on my part I did not drive the car to work to worsen the tire, and 2) if your repair center did not incorrectly 'patch' my tire. Would greatly appreciate some feedback or a conversation on possible reasons this happened. Thank you. read more

My experience previous to today was awful I was with a salesman named Andy amazing cute service and went above and beyond to help me. I bought a 2008 Mazda 3 three days after I got it it broke down I brought the car back was told nothing was wrong. I drove it home and within a week it broke down again they said it was the battery and replaced it with no cost the car broke down a third time I had to have it towed in the said the intake manifold was was bad (a main part on the engine) they took two weeks to replace it I advised I did not feel comfortable driving the car after a lot of persuading and paperwork they let me keep my 2012 loaner car and handled all the paperwork and even paid the difference of my down payment Andy Dustin Paul and ML went above and beyond thank you read more

I will never, never, never go here again. I made an appointment to have my car diagnosed after being rear-ended. When I arrived at the appointment, Kelly (in service)didn't even remember our extensive discussion and couldn't find my appointment. Not seeing this as the red flag that it should have been, I left my car and took a ride over to Enterprise to get my rental. Fast-forward a week. I arrived to pick up my car only to find it had barely been touched and that the part that the adjuster needed to see couldn't be assessed because Hampton Chevrolet had not taken the car apart to get to the part. So, there I was... hundreds spent on a rental and still no fixed car. No one called to tell me they had not fixed or assessed what was intended. Completely shocked, I just took my car-jerking and all-and ran. This place should be heavily fined or just plain ol' shut down. Absolutely disgusted. read more

Carmella was my salesperson when I went to look for a car. She was fun to deal with. It was the manager that ruined the whole deal. I caught him in several untruths. I had expressed that I wanted $2000 for my trade in. They came back at $1000 with unfounded reasons as to why so low. I will never go to them again. read more

I am beyond pissed with this location and will never go back and I recommend that no one with a car that you are trying to get restored do the same seems that the mechanics that dealt with my car are out to take your money and run your tab up! I recently took a 1996 Chevy Impala to them due to it not starting up. Prior to this the car had been to them maybe 3 times to get things changed out. They first diagnosed the the ignition and switch were bad changed it out still didn't work so they put those parts back on changed out my distributor told me it was bad leaks back there so I asked them to fix that come to find out that wasn't fixed. After the distributor was back on still could figure it out after weeks them come tell me that they don't know what it it and that it could be my fuel injectors and that my gas looks like varnish. Well one the gas had only been in the tank for about a month the fuel injectors had already been done and a seal kit had been put on by them in Aug 2017 this job had to be done at the same time and it was $2200 and to add to this insult I was told that it could still not fix my problem. So I paid this dealership $1349 and still had to get my car towed off the lot. So I took it to another mechanic right away I was shown that Hampton Chevy put my distributor on wrong it was put on 45 degrees to the right or left so my question is how can a mech do this and I was also told while I was getting the car done that the lead mech had been looking at this car! So I end up paying my new mech $1100 for Hampton's mistakes small price to pay for learning that I can't trust this dealership. Just needed to put this out there in hopes that it prevents someone else from getting screwed over. Oh I went back to the dealer and showed them what happened I got 350$ back asked if I was ok with that sure thanks for the help and showing me I am not crazy but this shows you that they are doing shady business on the Work floor my distributor leak is still going on and they were supposed to fix as well that I got charged for. read more

I was shopping for a new car while my 2005 Tahoe was being inspected. I was told that the inspection would take 1.5-2 hours. Within 20 min, I was called to the service dept. and told that my side mirror was cracked and would not pass. I had spoken to 2 mechanics and 1 inspector at 2 other shops who said that it would pass with the crack, as visibility was not impaired. Jim said it would be almost $200 to replace. I told him that the part is $15 on Amazon, and he replied in a cocky manner, 'Well, do you want us to fail it?'. Ummm YES, because I'm not paying $200 for a $15 part and 30 minute job when 3 professionals already said it was not an issue. Plus, the Tahoe was not fully inspected, which is a Virginia State requirement. So, I told the salesperson that her service dept. just blew her sale of a new car as well as the loyalty of a 12 year customer by trying to rip me off for $200. read more
