1 star -- extremely disappointing experience and unacceptable lack of communication…read more I chose Japanese Auto Parts in part because of their 4.9-star Google rating, so I expected professional service and communication. Unfortunately, my experience on October 2, 2026 was the complete opposite. I dropped my Jeep off at approximately 7:30 AM for an 8:00 AM appointment. The plan was to have several repairs addressed, along with new tires, an alignment, and a complete health assessment of the vehicle. I was initially told that some of the parts would be delayed, but that they should still be able to complete the tires, alignment, and vehicle assessment so that I could have my Jeep back Friday evening. Instead, I had to repeatedly call them myself just to find out what was happening with my vehicle. There was essentially no proactive communication. When I called around noon, I was told they were still waiting on parts. I called again around 3:00 PM and was then told that neither the tires nor the parts would be available and that they could simply keep my Jeep over the weekend. What made the situation completely unacceptable was when the employee then admitted that, despite having my Jeep since 7:30 that morning for an 8:00 AM appointment, they had not even completed the vehicle health assessment. At that point, I told them not to perform any work on my vehicle and that I was coming to pick it up immediately. I walked in, collected my key fob, and left. Delays in parts happen. Tires can be delayed. Schedules can change. That is not the reason for this review. The problem was the complete lack of proactive communication, follow-through, and urgency. If I had not repeatedly called throughout the day, I have no idea when anyone would have contacted me to explain that the work they had discussed with me was not going to be completed. Keeping a customer's vehicle for essentially an entire business day without even completing the promised assessment--and only revealing that after the customer repeatedly calls for updates--demonstrates an unacceptable level of apathy toward customer service and respect for a customer's time. I specifically sought out this shop because of its excellent reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not remotely reflect the level of service those ratings led me to expect. I left without allowing them to perform any work on my Jeep and will be taking my vehicle elsewhere.

I can certainly understand that. They also mentioned an issue about liability and not wanting to damage my bike if something were to happen while they rolled it around in their workshop. I applied the honesty exhibited here. I've had repairs done here before, one in particular where they had to remove the dashboard to repair the display lights on the console of my 4Runner. They did an excellent job and the price was very reasonable. I tell you this to say that these folks are very honest and they will not just take your money if they can't actually do the work. They are upfront with timelines and pricing and for that reason I highly recommend this wonderful business for all of your automotive electrical needs, just not motorcycles.

First thing that ran into my mind was this was going to be a big expense.... Called up BMW and their first appointment was 2 weeks away.. looking around at alternatives and came across Auto Envy.. they said bring the car in tomorrow and they will give me an assessment... Dropped the car off and later that afternoon they diagnosed bad oxygen sensors and the ignition coils also need to be replaced.. the cost of repair was about half the price BMW dealer quoted a year ago saying that the oxygen sensors were going back agreed to the repair and had my car back the next day running like new again.. This is a small mom/pop type shop that specializes in BMW repairs.. Friendly Staff, good prices, and great communication. Highly recommended if you need work done on your BMW!!!

Spending the 4 grand for peace of mind is better then shelling out for a new engine if it fails. I'll end this stating that my car went in sounding like a dying zebra with COPD and came out sounding like a fire breathing dragon so I'm beyond happy and excited to feel the power of this monster super car.

After another auto repair shop completely screwed up my car, I brought it to Bayside after being scared to drive it all the way home from work. It was looked at the next day, and the owner sent me a video of my engine going crazy (like it was the day before too) and proof there was zero oil in the engine, and that it was seizing. They flushed it with oil for me, ran it for a while, and told me that they did what they could, but they were not sure how much damage had been done without taking apart the engine completely, but it was not good. I'm so grateful Bayside was honest with me and truly saved me from a really unsafe situation. The owner is upfront, honest, and will do anything to help you. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and hope they will be serving our community for a long time to come.

Recently they began squealing so I did a LOT of research on car mechanics to take my car to and decided on this place. Initially they called me up and said they didn't think there was anything wrong and so they wouldn't charge me. I appreciated their honesty. Then they called and said they figured it out and would charge me $600- slightly what I was expecting to pay, but fine nonetheless. Anyways, when I got to the place they had not only fixed my brakes but my engine as well AND they washed my car, too. They also charged me $100 less than what they quoted over the phone. I have nothing but good things to say about this car mechanic and would trust them if I ever needed my car to be serviced.

I wasn't vague about it -- I clearly explained the issue and expected at least a basic attempt to identify it. The truck passed inspection, I was charged (including an extra fee for using a debit card), and I was told they couldn't find the noise. After moving out of state and getting the truck inspected again, the problem was identified almost immediately: a bad sway bar bushing causing the rear suspension to rattle around. Obvious enough that another shop spotted it right away. So I'm left wondering: how does a shop performing a state inspection miss a suspension issue I specifically pointed out, involving a loud metal-on-metal clank, and then charge extra on top of it? If you bring your vehicle here with an actual problem, you may want a second opinion.
