She did an absolutely amazing job and I would strongly recommend Barclay Papers to any bride or groom. Pace was patient and responsive as I worked with her remotely from Washington, D.C., mostly by email, and she went out of her way to make the wedding stationery special and stylish--each item was modern but classic, and took what I'd had in mind and made it so much better looking than I could even have envisioned. Each item was distinct, with different levels of formality (a cute postcard for the farewell brunch; thank-you notes with our monogram that can be used for wedding or any other occasion; elegant wedding invitations and RSVPs), but all perfectly coordinated. Pace also went out of her way to find and match the font from the logo of the winery where we were engaged; she had good advice on questions of etiquette (invitation wording, etc.) and quantities (fewer programs than I would've ordered--and she was right!); when the colors of the first samples weren't quite right, she tried other printers until she found one that could do the dark-background cards true to color; she provided a digital image of the invitations to upload to glosite.com so that our e-invites (for our more tech-savvy guests) would match the paper ones exactly; and she worked with me to select invitation type, paper stock, etc. to keep the costs reasonable. I was absolutely thrilled with the process of designing my wedding papers with Barclay Papers and with the timeless and stylish results.

The chandelier we had purchased in Denver turned out to be too small to fit the space for which it was intended. So I searched online and found a chandelier that The Antique Swan had advertised on line. It looked like a perfect fit. We called and spoke initially to Ann, the owner, who is the nicest person and knows so much about antiques. Turns out my chandelier was purchased by Ann on one of her annual trips through Europe where she scours the countryside looking for interesting pieces to ship home to her store. It is cool to get a first person story of where your purchase came from. My chandelier came from an estate near Stratford on Avon in the UK. I can't say enough about how helpful Eric was in getting the chandelier to us in a hurry. We had them pack and ship it to us sight unseen. It got to us in 2 days and each piece of crystal was individually bubble wrapped. It was exactly as advertised if not better. I highly recommend The Antique Swan.

A shop full of charm!…read more Raul welcomed us in with genuine delight, offering to hold our bags up front to "free our hands" and encouraging us to touch, feel, pick up, try on, and interact with all the pieces in his shop. He spoke of his collection of artisan goods from around South America with such pride, and it showed through in the beautiful curation of the store. It was full of goods yet gave each piece the ability to shine. It was vibrant and colorful, warm and inviting. SO many brilliant gifts to be found here. Wow, this place is a hidden gem…read more The prices cannot be beat for stationary. I was excited to see the Uni-ball one p gel pen for the first time in real life. They have a lot of other imported Japanese stationary brands as well and it's an impressive selection with fair prices. They carried kokuyo, campus, kleid stationary and many others. Also I discovered some new brands like leuchtturm1917 from Germany. They also showcased a local artist named Chris Gomez of Kaiju Cuts. They also were selling some books and many Austin souvenir. I really like the Austin public library hat and at $20 it's a steal. The tote bags are also very cute and would make a great gift.
