We went for my son's birthday. The food was great, the hostesses were friendly. The only damper was our waiter. He was very uptight, a bit on the snotty side. This is the Boro not Brentwood, where we are down to earth and friendly. He did his bare minimum, I had to ask the server for my wine, and barely checked on us. I still gave him a good tip because maybe he had a bad day. But if we return I will ask for a different waiter. read more

Food is fantastic but cocktail lovers beware! This place thinks they are in NYC when charging for craft cocktails! Guess what, you aren't in NYC! We ordered a few drink specials off of their menu. Conveniently the prices were not listed on the menu like some of the other drinks. We were blown away when we got the bill and saw the excessive charges. I could have practically paid for the entire bottle of Tequila for the prices they charged, and it was a lousy one shot pour! After talking to the manager he said we should have used our smart phones to scan the menu which would have revealed the special prices. If you are going to list some prices on the paper menu, why not list them all?? Just be honest and publish the prices like all other drinks if you are going to charge $20+/cocktail. Then again, you know you might not sell any if you did with that sticker shock! Additionally, our server brand new. He couldn't answer menu questions without consulting someone. I get it, he was new, but he was not ready to be serving on his own. Little things like asking for water, plates for our appetizer, etc... We asked him to please not rush our dinner out and low behold dinner was being dropped at our table before we even could finish the appetizer we ordered. He often disappeared for lengths of time and we would have to grab another server for assistance. Willing to try them again, but this was on a night that they were not even that busy. We've had several meals there lately. The service is great and the food is delicious. There are several appetizer choices that serve as a meal for me and they are more affordable for frequent visits. A little more expensive than we want to spend for frequent dining but definitely a treat and well worth it! The salmon is EXCELLENT, very good salad and the Korean Barbecue stuffed potato skins are a really good appetizer. Drinks are excellent, and -most important-the coffee is good. read more

Needs some work. Friendly enough service but most of top recommended items were unavailable because they had run out of necessary ingredients. No guacamole, no salmon. Many of the other dishes used avocados, which were apparently gone. Poor planning there, particularly when it was not that late in the evening, was not busy, and it was a Wednesday night. Salad was only iceberg lettuce . . . iceberg? Is this a coffee shop? That needs rethinking. Also, salad had a foreign object in it, which was completely unappetizing. We were offered another dish comped, but things had gone too far wrong by that point. Disappointing and overpriced. read more

We drove to Murfreesboro to spend my husband's birthday here. I am glad to see my hometown getting more and more local restaurants like this one. I have to brag on our waiter, Stephan (I think). He was super friendly and accommodating. I absolutely loved the pear martini and the Korean potato skins. My husband ordered the steak tips and I got the shrimp pasta. I can't wait to go back to try some more of their dishes, perhaps sit on the front porch too. Thanks for a great experience! read more

Third time giving this a restaurant a honest try. The first time was shortly after opening and we found the food good but not anything amazing. The roasted potatoes were dry and overcooked, but thought they just needed to work out the kinks. The 2nd visit was made enjoyable by the wait staff we had attending to us & his recommendations. We've not gone out much due to covid in the last six months. We gave this hometown restaurant another shot tonight because we were eager to get out and just enjoy a night out. My husband ordered a Hendrick's gin martini before we ordered an appetizer. Appetizer came in an appropriate time, drinks were out in a reasonable time, but our entrees took unreasonably long and the server acknowledged that. My husband's entree was fresh and hot, but mine was room temp and the sauce was not smooth creamy, but it was sticky and gooey--the sign of it sitting around too long. The shrimp were barely warm. The manager approached the table without a mask, if that is a concern, and was kind and offered to remake the dish but we instead got a dessert. The banana pudding was tasty. The reason for 3 stars is because of the time it took to receive our lukewarm warm food & also because one Hendrick's martini was priced at $21. That just seems absurd, especially when the standard cocktail is usually around $12-14. The server couldn't really explain it and took our card and cashed us out. The server was sweet but seemed unsure and inexperienced. She didn't know what a pepper grinder is called or how to fully operate it. Maybe I'm expecting too much from Murfreesboro, especially because going out is rare for us these days. I understand everyone is probably doing their best, but we paid $145 tonight for an experience that really missed the mark. read more

We walked in for a 7:15PM reservation to find every table filled (they gave away our reservation), no social distancing, and none of the staff wearing face masks. My wife and I decided to leave and go elsewhere. Unfortunately, this was one of many restaurants in the area that has abandoned all pandemic precautions. read more

Best food in Murfreesboro! The Chef is very accomplished and five star. They brought so much bread and we were never without a refill. Our server, Edwin, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable on the menu and the town. He was a very polite and respectful young man. This was not a microwaved food like all the other chain restaurants. I will definitely be back! If you go get the lamb and korean bbq stuffed potatoes skins because some of the money goes to the local food bank! Really what other restaurant do you know that does this?! read more

I felt compelled to write this review not only because the food was amazing, but because the service was absolutely unparalleled. We were fortunate enough to be waited on by Jacob, the most precious gem of a waiter. He was not only attentive to our needs, but went above and beyond to take care of us. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. Everything was extremely flavorful. I highly recommend the carne asada fries--Completely drool-worthy, y'all. Overall, I got such good vibes in this establishment. The entire staff took care of us, even though they didn't have to. We had three separate team members assist us in small actions such as filling our water and making sure we loved our meal. One team member even held the door open for us as we left. As a person who is in customer service, it brings overwhelming joy to me when I receive amazing customer service like I did at Primrose Table tonight. I am elated to return to Primrose Table in the future and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dinner spot! read more

My wife and I had dinner there when the restaurant first opened. The atmosphere is fresh and cozy. The big surprise was when the food came. It was fantastic, certainly placing Primrose Table at the top of our list among Murfreesboro eateries. Without doubt, there is a WOW factor. Of note, there is a Kids Menu with a set price of $7...making it easy for parents to enjoy fine dining and bring the kids without breaking the budget. You will not be disappointed. read more

Went for the 2nd time the other night. The food was great, but was a VERY small portion of grouper for the price. Our server seemed a bit inexperienced as it took a 2nd time noticing my water was empty before she brought more and she never offered us dessert. My expectations were very high for Primrose Table this evening. After the opening of Dallas and Jane along with the more recent Steakhouse Five (and our regular favorite Five Senses) and the excellent reviews, my expectation was that Primrose would be on par with those. This was my mistake. The atmosphere was similar. The bar area was really cool and looked like a place that would be easy to eat at and fun to hangout around. The remainder of the space was very nice. We ordered the Korean BBQ Potato Skins... delicious! However, the plates were too small for the size of the appetizer. Drinks arrived shortly before and were adequate. When the server came to take the appetizer plates away (except for one dirty plate that remained on the table throughout the meal) they asked if we wanted to keep our knives. We asked for a clean one instead - then received a full cutlery set wrapped in a napkin... not what you would expect for higher end dining. Dinner arrived and we had the Chicken in a Woodford Reserve sauce. The sauce didn't disappoint; however, it seemed that the chicken had been sitting under the heat lamp for a while. It also seemed that there was some sort of riff or issue between our server and the bartender, which certainly isn't something that should be noticed by patrons. In then end, I believe that Primrose has the possibility of being one of the top dining choices in the Boro, but for now their front of house has a lot of work to do. These points may seem picky, but if you are paying Five Senses and Dallas and Jane prices, you'd expect a similar experience - and this certainly was not. read more

My wife and I visited for the first time on a Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The atmosphere is open but cozy. We ordered drinks to start (a Manhattan for her, beer for me) and settled in to review the menu. After a while we decided on the guacamole and lamp-chop appetizers, a pear salad and one of their burgers. The food was good but the service was not quite up to standard for an upscale restaurant. Our server was very nice but overlooked some things that make a difference to folks like us. For example, when the food was brought to our table the burger was accompanied by an order of fries. The menu states that a variety of sides are available, but we didn't catch that when ordering so our server just defaulted to fries. Not a huge deal, but when I asked about it I was informed that we could have another side but would be charged for it. Sigh. This would not happen at Five Senses where the fries would be replaced immediately with the side of our preference, no questions asked. Murfreesboro is a tough market to crack and I really do hope these people step up their game and stay here for the long haul. Time will tell. read more
