I was offered a drink when I arrived, and only waited a few minutes even though i was early. The hot towel treatment that is standard with every cut was fantastic! She really listed to what I wanted and I got a great cut. On my way out the door I was offered a complementary chair massage by Brian, which was one of the best massages I've had! so relaxing! Since I came here based on the Yelp reviews I read, I figured I would write my own. I drove 2 hours from Asheville to come to Re in Charlotte to receive a Keratin treatment (not many places in Asheville offer them, and if they do, it's the KeraGreen treatment which has not worked well for me in the past). After driving 2 hours, it was nice to just pull right up to the building and use the complimentary valet parking. I was greeted warmly by the receptionist at the front desk, and the 5-7 minute wait was honestly welcome since I had just been in the car for a while. My stylist, Dash (her full name is Dashelle), came and cheerfully introduced herself to me before leading me to her chair. I felt like I had known Dash forever! We had the best time talking about our favorite TV shows, our families and more. She was very quick with the Keratin treatment while not making me feel rushed whatsoever. I am very happy with how the treatment turned out. I will definitely be back to see Dash at Re again, and I highly recommend this salon for a Keratin treatment. read more

I have been coming here about every two months for a couple of years now to get my hair cut. Brittany Sneed is wonderful.. so great that I followed her here after she left the previous salon she worked at, even though it means going out of my way. It's like visiting an old friend instead of a stylist, and my hair always looks great! The salon itself is decorated beautifully, and in an old restored building. I've always found the front desk to be helpful, and I usually pre-book future appointments at checkout. There is never much of a wait for me after check-in, which is great. The only thing I don't like is the required (but complimentary) valet parking... I would rather just park myself in one of the spots out front! read more

Brittany Sneed at Re Salon is a life saver. I talked to her on a Tuesday with the streakiest highlights you ever did see (it literally looked like I let a 4-year-old take a bleach pen to my head ). But by Wednesday at 10 am she had it fixed and a game plan to make my hair look even better when it grows out in a few weeks. The salon is wonderful, the front desk staff is helpful and not snobby like at other places. Valet parking is also nice, it makes me feel swanky. Love this place! read more

I have had the most amazing massage from Mare at Re yesterday. She used the hot rocks and it was like being in heaven. The atmosphere was calming and I didn't feel self-conscious at all like I thought I would. The room was private and cozy, the temperature was great, both of the room itself and the oils, and I cannot tell you how phenomenal the massage itself was. She hit all the spots, pulled and pushed in the places that needed it, and paid special attention to areas that were a little tighter than others. She gave me a full body massage with neck and scalp and it was worth every penny. I'd strongly recommend her! I walked out of there more relaxed than I've been in months, and still feel great the next day. read more

The customer service was horrible. There was a long line at the register. There was 2 people in front of me and 2 people behind me but somehow i ended up being the last person to get checked out. Why? Because I only came to get an eyebrow wax. The register lady checked me in so she knew what i came in there for. The register lady purposely skipped over me and called the person behind me. The person that was standing behind me looked at me and apologized twice for getting ahead of me but it's not her fault. The register lady purposely skipped over me. Sara is amazing! She did my Botox a few days ago (my first time getting it) and she was so great. It looks perfect! I am terrible with needles and fainted briefly for a second right after injections but she and the woman who was shadowing handled it so well and made me feel comfortable! I went to Sara for my Botox and fillers and couldn't be happier. Not only is she super sweet but she really knows her stuff. I explained to her what my concerns were (smile lines, wanted slightly fuller lips and wrinkles in my forehead) and she addressed them in a way to where I didn't feel pressured to do everything at once. She explained what she could do, how she was going to do it and even gave me her opinion on what she thinks I should focus on. She was not "money hungry" or pushy like some other places I have been. I ended up doing everything (Botox in my forehead and filler in my smile lines and lips and it came out phenomenal. She numbed me so the procedure was virtually painless. I am new to Charlotte and had no idea what to go for my hair. My first experience was at a different salon and I was pretty displeased with the cut, color, and wait time. I was nervous to try a new salon wondering how many disappointments would have until I found somewhere I liked. But I stumbled upon Re Salon and saw all the positive reviews, and decided to give them a try, I'm so glad I did. My stylist was Jessica and she was amazing! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone. First and foremost she was on time. I appreciate it when someone honors the appointment times. It shows me they value my time as well as their own. She really listened to what I was looking for, and made helpful suggestions. Based on her suggestion I tried balayage for the first time, and I am really happy I did. She did a really great job and I was super pleased with the result. Lastly, I can't be happier with the haircut. It was so well done. Before my cut with Jessica it took forever for me to style my hair and coax it into place how I liked it. Afterwards it takes no time at all to get ready. My hair just seems to fall into place naturally. It has been about a month and a half since my appointment and I am still surprised how easily it styles. It is truly the sign of a great cut when it takes all of the work out of styling. The Salon itself was comfortable and the staff was friendly. It was a fun and relaxing vibe. This place is a ten out of ten! Or in this case, 5 stars! Kelly was/is my stylist/hairdresser and she was absolutely wonderful. She was kind and funny and she's actually a good person that rescues animals and is generous. She was very receptive to what my ultimate goal was, and also offered honest advice on how to achieve my goal, which was great. She listened instead of doing what most other salons do- try to talk me out of what I want for what will make them the most money. She boosted me up and made me feel good about myself for the first time in a long time. It was almost like spending much needed time with a friend. She did a great job on my hair and went above and beyond for me on very short notice (this salon is high demand and she got me in on a weekend with a 3 day notice!). I have been afraid of salons for a long time. Mostly because of a slew of bad childhood haircuts (alas, the 90's mullet), and then a salon later in life that put me down and refused to even attempt the things I would ask for (it wasn't like I was trying to go platinum from black hair, I just wanted friggin highlights). I remember asking them to lighten my hair a shade to a lighter brown after they refused my initial request. I was pale and wanted a lighter shade of brown to help me not appear ill (I'm a cancer survivor so I worry about that) and they flat out told me no. That in order to lighten my hair, they would first have to turn it red and that they werent about let me walk out with ugly hair and have me say it came from their salon. I couldn't believe people could be so cruel and I cried in the chair after she told me that. And even after knowing how badly thy hurt my feelings, I was never offered an apology or explanation. I was mortified and I thought I'd never go to another salon again.... But then I had a moment of clarity in life where I realized that I put all my confidence in my long hair. That avoiding the salon and having this long hair became a basis for how I felt about myself and it just doesn't seem healthy. So I decided to donate my hair to PBL to make wigs for cancer patients. And I did it- I had a pal of mine put it in a ponytail and chop it off. I donated 13 inches of hair, and for the first time in forever, had shoulder length hair. The only problem was, the remaining hair never got shaped to its new length by a professional, and I was kind of stuck with a mess. I got through a couple of months by hiding the hair in messy buns or covering it with scarves and headbands. My confidence came crashing down and I started to feel terribly guilty that I didn't like the hair after I donated it. I finally decided that I had to have a professional work on my hair, and I began to search for a salon. After reading through reviews, I settled on RE Salon and Spa because of the glowing reviews and how much people loved the staff. I asked if they could squeeze me in that very weekend, which was three days away, and they actually did it. They were kind, professional, and the shop is so lovely. That's when I was introduced to Kelly and she brought my confidence back from the dead. She didn't just fix my hair, but she cut it so that as it grew, it would still look good and wouldn't require constant maintenance. She deliberately set me up for success when she easily could done a number of things to get me back in the chair spending money. But she put my needs and my ultimate goal of growing my hair out again as a priority and she restored my faith in stylists. The whole place just felt like it was overflowing with joy and female power. It was so relaxing and everything I'd want out of a day at the salon. I highly recommend this business as your go-to salon and spa, especially if you've been burned by other salons and you have difficulty trusting someone with your precious locks. Let me start by saying that I absolutely ADORE Heather at Re Salon. She's amazing and I went to her religiously for more than 2 years. But yesterday ended that, and not because of her! Because of their terrible administrative staff that has messed up my appointment 3 times now. The first time, I showed up and they had me scheduled for another day and time (even though they sent me a confirmation email). The manager apologized, gave me a free facial, and we got things straightened out. The next time I scheduled, I showed up and they had me scheduled with someone other than Heather! I was pissed, and had to reschedule yet again. This last and 3rd time I showed up and they yet again had me scheduled with someone other than Heather (even though I scheduled that appointment while paying for my previous haircut with HEATHER). The girl at the desk was unapologetic and only wanted to reschedule me for another time. I told her "no thanks" and walked out. I'm now searching for a new salon. It is completely unacceptable to me that the administrative staff at Re Salon cannot seem to do their jobs correctly. It seems to be common sense that a customer who has seen only 1 stylist there for more than 2 years should not be scheduled with another stylist. I block off a night of my week for a haircut, and I expect to have that haircut with my chosen stylist. And I don't think the customer should have to worry about whether the admin staff has done their jobs correctly. It's a shame that some talented stylists are losing business due to the management's failures. read more

I don't know if it's the clean, bright atmosphere, the friendly stylists and their creativity, the wine... Or perhaps just a combination of it all? Michelle is amazing! She's friendly, talented & has such a sweet personality! Did I mention she gives The best head massages? I've tried a number of salons in town over the last two years, and have decided to end my search because I've finally found my favorite of them all! The stylists at Re are usually pretty busy; to call and get an appointment with the person of your choice, at a time that is convenient for you - well, I haven't had that kinda luck each time. But that has actually worked in my favor, because now I can tell u that whether you see Jesse or Heather or Michelle, you won't be disappointed! By writing this review, I am probably further reducing my chances of easily getting an appointment with one of these folks, but Re and all their stylists deserve to be praised! They are pricey, but you get what you pay for. They do a good job of assessing what their clients want, and I can only speak for myself, but I've always walked out of Re feeling like a million bucks ;) read more

Best. Salon. Ever. Can't say enough about it. First went there for a manicure and it was the best experience. They carry all the hot new shades. It was so personal, I felt so comfortable and my nails looked fabu! Second time I went there, I went to get a haircut fixed from a previous visit to InSync salon. Gigi was recommended by a co-worker of mine and I'm so glad I took her advice. Gigi was great! She listened to what I originally wanted and not only did she fix my cut, she made it better than I could imagine. I actually enjoy doing my hair. She also recommended some product that I absolutely love! And I am a product whore! Everyone there is so nice and what they've done to the place is so amazing. Even though they made it their own, they've kept the "coolness" of the old firehouse. You wouldn't believe the services they provide. Super awesome salon that I highly recommend. My mom and I both had appointments for an hour facial at Re Salon and Med Spa. Our appointments were at 11a so we got there around 10:50a. Once we were there we waited a while before getting into our rooms. I think we were finally greeted and taken into our rooms around 11:05. We both really enjoyed the facials and the girls that gave them to us were very nice and pleasant. Our only complaint was that we didn't feel like we received a true hour facial. I get that they need to give you a few minutes to change before and after but considering the facials didn't start until 11:10 and we were finished at 11:50 just doesn't cut it. I just feel like we weren't compensated for what we paid for. For $95, 40 minutes is not acceptable. I can only imagine how long their 30 minute facials actually are. Because of this, I doubt we will ever be back. read more

Not the best facial. My aesthetician was really sweet. I told them I was especially looking for extractions. They spent more time massaging my neck and arms than doing extractions. I had to do the extractions myself once I got home. My skin looks like I didn't even get a facial. If you're looking for a relaxing time this facial is nice. I absolutely love this salon. The front desk girls were so sweet and professional. No bad attitudes like a lot places have. They were very warm and inviting! There's a Keurig for coffee and they offered me something to drink. Jennifer was my stylist and gave me a consultation and took her time assessing a personalized look for me. She also gave me the best head massage when I was getting my hair washed. I felt like a princess getting pampered, and so pretty and polished after my haircut and blow dry was finished! I had a terrible experience at "Re Salon & Med Spa". During the pedicure they gave me a fungus infection. It was awful! Neither the owner nor the nail technician said they were sorry. The owner would not call me personally. She would only communicate through the spa manager, which delayed any attempt at a resolution. They promised to call me back last time we spoke, but I never heard from them. At first, the nail technician claimed that I came in with an existing infection until she realized she had confused me with another client. There was no apology. The owner, nail technician, and manager were difficult to work with and did not offer any customer accommodation such as a refund. I am extremely disappointed, what poor customer service and bad sanitation!! I am giving it ZERO stars. This is troubling for a salon & spa that poses as a high-class establishment. My husband regrets buying me the gift of services to Re Spa. read more

I wish I could write rate different services separately. I both love and dislike Re Salon at the same time. Here's how I would break it down: Ambiance: 5 stars (gorgeous interior in a historic fire house) Hair Services: 4.5 stars (great, but very very pricey) Nail Services: 1 for quality, 4 stars for friendliness Spa Services (facials, medical treatments): cannot rate Front Desk: 1 stars Value: 1.5 stars Overall: 2.5 stars If you're looking for just a hair salon, I highly recommend it. There are some great stylists and colorists and the design of the place is great (though I don't totally love the whole open row of stations (same goes for Aveda, Varji & Varji, etc.). But you are going to pay out the nose for the services. For what I was doing there (trim, color, foil) I was regularly paying $250 per service and two other places I've been it was only $110-135. I wasn't even going to the most seasoned person either. I agree with Amanda- Jane is awesome but since she went back to school she's really tough to get an appt with, so I ultimately ended up switching stylists and then salons. However, my opinion of the quality of nail services is a different story. The nail room is cute with nice decor but the chairs they do your nails in are not the comfy massage chairs and are frankly a little uncomfortable. My co-workers and I went to get nails done (3 of us at the same time) and the other two were so unhappy with the quality of the work they had peeled off their gel nails that very night. I had the best service/quality of the 3 of us from a nice Filipino lady from Germany (that sounds funny, but she spent most of her life in Germany) who used a different technique and spent more time. But it still wasn't as good as my normal spot so I will not go back. In contrast to the hair costs, it actually wasn't high priced, but from the sound of it only my lady did nails full time and the others were also into hair and maybe facials? So the lack of specialty showed through in the work. The front desk staff are unfriendly and kind of useless. I usually have to ask for a drink (or my stylist asks) and sometimes when I have called in for an appointment, they don't ask my name which caused scheduling snafus. read more
