I had even provided photos of my daughter's hair in advance, so there was no surprise or misunderstanding. Further, the "master" stylist was very rude and accusatory when he approached me about retroactively charging us. Mind you he was the one I showed the pictures to, as well as the one who submitted the payment slips to the young women at the front desk. Changing prices after the fact is unfair and unacceptable. It also raises serious concerns about discriminatory pricing practices. Customers deserve transparency and honesty, not hidden or after-the-fact charges. I would not recommend this salon to anyone who values professionalism, fairness, and respect.

She told me that she didn't think it was a good idea to bleach the hair in the condition my hair was in because of the many years of black hair dye. What she recommended was for me stop the black hair dye and cover only the gray at the roots only a medium to dark brown and get regular trims of the ends until black was gone which I did. The purpose of the recommendation was that by dying the roots and getting trims was so that can later be able to bleach the hair to a lighter shade. The whole process took me almost a year to get my desired shade. I now have a copper reddish hair and love it. I've gotten many compliments on it and I can get away from dying my grays a little longer than when I had black hair.

Tina did my hair and she's Phenomenal I moved from Jersey 3 years ago and I have not found anyone That I trusted with my hair until now !

I've been here for a pedicure consultation and 3 pedicure appointments. So far, I have not been disappointed. Other than the standard and spa like treatments, there's also services dedicated to those who are diabetic, geriatric, and deal with harsh calluses and dry skin. My consultation with Vay (the owner) was for a couple of calluses and layered skin on a corn in between my little toe and the one next to it. She also gave me my first pedi. The seating was is very comfortable. She was friendly, focused, and thorough tending to my concerns. You can tell this is an art for her and she's serious about her work. I was nervous about it feeling uncomfortable, but totally the opposite. I left with my feet feeling amazing. The callus and corn between my toes was so smoothed out that I was pain free. Haven't experienced that in a very long time. No other salon tried to help with the layered skin, so I stopped going. The polish lasted about 3 weeks and pedi was good for a little over 4 weeks (the smoothness of what's between my toes). The salon itself feels spacious, clean, and I love the layout and color scheme. The music is loud enough to sing along to, but low to where it's not overwhelming. They also offer water and coffee. Despite the prices being a little high, it's been worth every single cent! You can also book appointments with a guest. Set up appointments that include a couple of services as well.

***Updating*** I was going to just delete this review after I talked to the owner this morning, but figured instead I would use this as a teachable moment for business owners concerned about bad reviews on Yelp. I had posted this as a one-star review (see below). Linda, the owner, called me personally to apologize, and she discussed the issue with her staff and talked about how situations like might be handled better and kindly helped me schedule a new appointment herself despite not being in the salon right now. The takeaway for business owners is: be proactive, discuss incidents with staff, but most importantly reach out to people person-to-person! The owner's handling of this got a one-star review changed to a 5! I know everything is more challenging with covid, but I do not feel they handled things professionally. I was running a few minutes behind on my appointment, so the front desk lady said she had to cancel as my stylist had an appointment at 1, over 20 minutes later. I asked if she would ask the stylist again if I agreed to forego the wash since all I needed was a simple man's hair trim, a task of less than 10 minutes. It would be one thing if she asked Shelly and Shelly said no, but the woman refused to even ask her for me, which was just rude and unprofessional. They've lost my business permanently. Turns out there's a reason they call this place "Attitude:" they have a seriously bad one. read more

I must admit that I have never written a review online - good or bad - but I had to share this experience. My 10 year old daughter decided to roll her really long hair up really tight in a comb all the way to the top thinking it would roll right back out. After two hours of breaking each tooth on the comb with pliers and wire cutters we got that out but the knotted mess that was left was unbelievable. We just knew it wasn't coming out. I called Attitudes since she had gotten her hair cut there a few weeks prior and they let me bring her in immediately. When we arrived I could tell by the look on their faces that this was no easy task. They never let my daughter see their concern and even the young daughter of the owner brought over her new puppy in an attempt to make my daughter feel better. Two stylists worked in between appointments for two hours to salvage what they could and gave her a new haircut that she absolutely loved. When I go to pay they say no charge and Merry Christmas. From the very beginning until the very end, I was impressed by these wonderful people and will always remember what they did for my little girl. read more

Attitudes makes you feel like you are home and a part of one big family every time you walk in. Each stylist is very experienced and continuously work on their skills and education. If you are not satisfied with something, owner Lynda Carlson and manager Erica Deppas make sure that they do everything they can to ensure that you are happy before you leave. The stylists never care if you want to try someone else within the salon as well. They have different level stylists too so it is affordable for everyone and there are always promotions. Each stylist is also very knowledgable about the product lines for home care of you new "do" and they take the time to work with you so you can get the "fresh from the salon look every day". Attitudes is also a kid friendly environment and all of the girls are great with children cuts. They offer services for weddings and other special events as well including hair and makeup. I moved to Charlotte, 5 years ago and was very lucky to find a salon five minutes from my house that has such a cool vibe and the people even nicer! The owner (Linda) is a wonderful, honest, professional person whose number one priority is to provide client satisfaction...the customer is always right mindset, which is no longer the case in today's business market! My stylist is her daughter (Erika), who is a top level stylist and definitely lives up to her title. I love that she is young, fun and always has different ideas on how to change up your look, she ensures to take the time to learn latest industry techniques by traveling to beauty shows/events which keeps the customer up to date on new trends/styles...fun! The best thing about the salon is the warm and inviting feeling you get when your there...it's just a welcoming/happening place! And you get cucumber water in the summer and hot coco in the winter! Yesterday was a very lucky day for me, I made my first appointment with Attitudes A Salon. I've been growing the blond color out of my natural gray hair for about 8 months now. I look like 50 shades of gray and blond, what a mess. I had a last minute invite to a wedding and was in panic mode. HELP! Maranda made my appoint for the next day! Coming from someone who had never (before Attitudes) gotten her hair cut from the same stylist twice: Love Attitudes! The stylists are great, personable, knowledgeable, and (most important for me) honest. I love that they listen to what you would like to do and they give you an honest opinion. Every time I go in, April K. takes what I would like to do and makes it better! You walk in to a beautiful salon with a cheery and pleasant receptionist to greet you. I had the pleasure of having Taylor give me a whole new look but cutting 7 inches off my hair and giving me a style that is perfect! Casey at Attitudes is amazing! I followed her from another salon and she is the absolute best. My hair is long, thick and there is a LOT of it. Casey perfectly highlights, cuts and styles it into wonderfulness. I have naturally strawberry blonde and Casey is a total experienced pro at coloring red hair. Personally I like it a brighter red and she makes it the perfect natural red color. I have seen many of her happy blonde clients as well, if thats your jam. These girls are the best! They go above and beyond...I called them with a hair disaster (I got a round brush twisted and really really stuck in my hair). They took me in right away and worked over 3 hours (of that an hour and a half past closing time) getting the brush and the tightest most massive knot out of my hair. I have been going to Attitudes since it first opened. One of my friends introduced me to Lynda years ago. I have thick, coarse hair that's difficult to color and cut and she has worked wonders in coloring my hair and finding the perfect cut. I even moved out of state for several years and couldn't wait to come back. Everyone always makes me feel welcome and comfortable there. I would highly recommend Attitudes! I have had 2 amazing experiences here with Gaby. She cut 10 inches off for me the first appt and did a balayage, she listened exactly to what I was looking for and it turned out just like the picture I brought in. This is the place personal one on one from stylist, staff and even the owner! I decided to look to Yelp to help me find someone else to try and hit the jackpot! I called and spoke to the owner of JonV, Tamika, and she was super friendly and professional on the phone and was willing to squeeze me in that same day. I'm always hesitant to try someone new because there aren't many with the skill set to work with my type of hair. Tamika was wonderful and did not disappoint! She gave me exactly the style and length I wanted and was super kind and courteous. The price was reasonable, professionalism top-notch, good location. The inside of the salon is aesthetically pleasing and clean. I also loved the diverse clientele. She has the skills and talent to work with men and women, young and old, and all hair types and textures to give you the results you're looking for. I will definitely be going back. Although my first visit was unusually busy, and the stylist ran behind - it was not her fault as a client ran exceptionally late. She assured me numerous times it was unusual. But I loved her and I loved my cut and color. So, I decided to give it a try again. I love my stylist Cat. She is knowledgeable and keeps up to date with the new trends. Prices are affordable. The place is clean, trendy and everyone is so nice. I am glad I stuck it out because I found a great stylist.

When it came to the cut, unfortunately there was a language barrier which I did not account for. Therefore she ended up cutting my hair more than I wanted. I wanted the layers in my hair just trimmed but she began cutting 1.5inches off of them. Had there not been a language barrier and a cut with too many inches off I would have gone back. The place itself looks old in the inside but I wasn't about the aesthetic it was about convenience and the cut. Convenience of last minute appointments was an At but overall cut was not great. I was also looking for a cheaper alternative to my normal price of 80.00 but I got charged 100.00 for a wash and trim. Unfortunately not what I was looking for at all
