I called on a Friday and was able to get an appointment for the next morning a few hours after I was scheduled to fly in. Very spacious, open, airy space conveniently located in Charlotte's South End district. It was fairly quiet for a Saturday at 11:30a. Just two stylists in the shop. My stylist said they're still only half-staffing since Covid and with so many clients working from home, Saturday's are not the super busy days they used to be! So I scheduled a blow-out (wash/blow dry/style) so my hair would look well done for the wedding. Kerry, my stylist, was great. She was honest, straightforward, and tried every which way from Sunday to get my abysmally straight fine hair to do something, anything, other than lay flat on my scalp. We landed on an up-do when the "wear it down" options didn't go as planned. My hair sucks, so I did appreciate the valiant effort and I was pleased with the end result. Thank you, Kerry!

I spoke with Mare, who's amazing by the way, and she suggested I try Ashiatu massage. I had never heard the term before. "Ashi" means foot. Therefore, it's a barefoot massage that involves using bare feet to apply strokes, assisted stretching the muscles. It's freaking awesome. I'm totally weirded out by feet, but I needed this. It the room looks all BDSMish, but it's totally not. She uses drilled poles to steady herself. I was so apprehensive but excited at the same time. Mare's sweet disposition put me at ease. I really valued my experience because I didn't think about her bare feet. I was relieved and listened to the flute and waves. If you're open and want to try a different type of massage, then this is a viable option. Did I mention they take FSA/HSA, too? Check of their list if serves. It seems they have a host of great medspa offerings such as IV Hydration, Sauna, inferred, and salon services.

The minute I walked in I should have known to leave, I asked to use the restroom and I was sent downstairs (I have arthritis in both knees) which would have been fine but the lady that came in right after me was directed to a restroom on the same floor as the lobby. My appointment was at 5:45 and I didn't get sat in a chair until close to 6:30. The lady who did my hair was very nice so there's that. When I showed her and her instructor my inspo pic they both said it was doable with the hair I had, I told them if it wasn't I could find a plan b no big deal but they assured me it would happen. So I'm feeling pretty good about life at this point thinking my hair is going to be fabulous. When they started the foils I began to get concerned the instructor did a few to show the student and when the student took over the foils they were kind of haphazard and wonky, but I told myself to have faith in the process. So wash and toner time happen. I get back to the chair and the towel comes off my head and I am horrified to find that the chunky money pieces I wanted were an obscene shade of yellow/orange. The highlights were uneven and you can see where they missed putting product on some of them because there would be brown sandwiched by blonde on the same strip of hair. The cut was ok, I have a few uneven pieces in the back but I can live with that. I am so not wanting to out of the house with this mess on my head. I
