I was in town for a wedding, staying at a hotel nearby, and saw they were within walking distance of this salon. I called on a Friday and was able to get an appointment for the next morning a few hours after I was scheduled to fly in. Very spacious, open, airy space conveniently located in Charlotte's South End district. It was fairly quiet for a Saturday at 11:30a. Just two stylists in the shop. My stylist said they're still only half-staffing since Covid and with so many clients working from home, Saturday's are not the super busy days they used to be! So I scheduled a blow-out (wash/blow dry/style) so my hair would look well done for the wedding. Kerry, my stylist, was great. She was honest, straightforward, and tried every which way from Sunday to get my abysmally straight fine hair to do something, anything, other than lay flat on my scalp. Once you enter the salon you are transported into an industrial and eclectic atmosphere ... the staff is friendly and helpful and David is certainly a magician with color and cut !! He is honest, but not to a fault and genuinely interested in the outcome of your hair and the manner in which you glow when the work is completed !! It is pricey, but no more than other salons which do not supply the same outcome ! The only tip is to get an appt early... he is always very busy !! read more

Got the cool summery haircut of my dreams! Lanie cut my hair and she did a fabulous job. A shampoo, cut, blow dry and style is $55 but they honored the 25% off so I paid around $42 and gave a $10 tip. Paid $52 for a smoking summer cut and color consultation overall. Great deal, especially when places uptown are charging $60+ pre-tip for anything. Lanie was super patient, very knowledgable, and so funny. For anyone coming in, I recommend her for a cut! read more

A friend of mine recommended Lainie at KM & Company and I finally went to see her. I really appreciated the time she took and she definitely knows how to cut curly hair so that it stays curly. She stayed within my request not to lose much length. I'm trying to grow my hair longer and it had been 6 months since my last haircut. Not only is she sweet and conversational, she really knows what she's doing. While cutting your hair, she gives you valuable tips and tricks to maintenance, styling, and general information about the characteristics of your hair. Ladies, you know what I mean when I say that you know when it's time for a cut. You hate your hair, nothing looks right, etc. Since switching to Karla, I no longer have that problem. After being victim of a disastrous hair color appointment at a different salon, KM salon was able to fit me into their busy schedule and completely fix the color of my hair! Alison was absolutely amazing. She explained what she believed happened with my hair color and how she thought it was best to fix it. After spending years of being super picky about who colors my hair, I went to Christina after falling in love with a friend's hair color. Christina ended up taking me from a highlighted blonde mess to a beautiful dark brown, which I LOVE. I get compliments all the time on how natural it looks and how they cant believe I was ever a blonde. Christina is a color goddess and not only listens to what you want, but always is able to put her touch on things that you might not have thought of. Im moving to the west coast soon and at a complete loss with what I am going to do without her. I am a guy who is very critical of my haircuts. No one has ever been able to cut my hair the way I always want it. Until my girlfriend told me to come here I was going from barber to barber. Now it's safe to say this place will never be able to get rid of me. Christina is amazing. I will never let anyone except for her cut my hair again. Men's wavy/curly hair is often difficult to deal with. You are limited to a select few styles that are often outside the current trends. Christina has performed a magic trick. She set out to make me happy and confident in my hair style and has delivered! Although it's been a 3 month process of growing out and taming my hair I am ecstatic with the results.
