Kerri is fantastic. After moving from Brooklyn to Charlotte, it took me a while to find a place a really liked, and lo and behold, Kerri is from Brooklyn. I swear it's a coincidence! She does an amazing job with the really long thick hair. She cleaned it up and made it look much more polished while hardly taking off any length. I also have long blunt bangs which need regular trims, which Kerri does for free and you're in a out in a couple minutes (still tip though!). Other perks--you can book your appt online, no product pushing, and Kerri is a really genuine cool girl. read more

I have tried 3 different salons in Charlotte and have had okay to horrible experiences at all three. I have lived in Charlotte for 3 years and it has been extremely difficult to find a stylist who listens and takes their time to make sure they know what I'm asking for as far as color and cut. Well after today I do not have to look any further!!!! After reading reviews on YELP for Flirt Salon and Kerri (Stylist), I decided to give them a try and make an appointment today to have my roots colored (I'm a brunette w some warmth in my hair) and a small trim (I'm letting my hair grow out for my wedding in July so this part was extremely important to me!!!!). I made the appointment very easily and got to the Salon which is next door to BeYoga studio and is very cute! I was offered a glass of wine (which I gladly accepted) or water by Kerri and she was very professional and friendly. I felt comfortable right off the bat and she got started immediately. She asked all the right questions and really listened to what I had to say about my hair and she never interrupted me! She mixed my color and corrected a mistake a previous stylist from another salon had made to my roots, my color looked AMAZING!!!! I have never been this happy from a 1st time visit with a new stylist!!!!!! she also trimmed my hair and only took off the dead ends and now my hair actually lays straight which it was not doing before!!!! I am so pleased with Kerri and her work and this will now become my new salon of choice!!!! Also she got me in and out at a very decent time...I did not have to wait on anything ridiculous and the prices are reasonable and comparable. I most certainly got what I paid for!!!!!!! read more

I came to Flirt based on the Yelp reviews. Here was my experience: The appointment started late. The only question that was asked about my hair: how much length do you want off? About 25-30 minutes later I left with: a boring and ugly blunt cut, too much length taken off, and $72 dollars less. I had long hair with long layers. My hair is thick, so normally it gets thinned with thinning shears and some razoring for the layers. All I wanted was a trim. I walked out with my long layers being whacked off into a blunt cut. There was a woman waiting with hair dye sitting on her head the whole time during my haircut. I got out of there as fast as I could. I was so depressed after my cut, I had to have it fixed. She was very nice and talkative. But I would much rather not talk and leave with a good haircut. read more

i have been living in the charlotte area for right around two years now and had yet to find someone who would color my hair the way i wanted and would not cut my hair that i want to grow out. let me clarify that the color i wanted: little mermaid red-orange. so one day i find out about this salon and call up kerri and she says she'll do it and you know what? she did. it was simple as that. she just did it, because i asked for it. and she did it quickly and did it again today when my roots were growing out and i trusted her enough to trim the ends and she did just that, trimmed the ends. not cut off like 4 inches, just a half inch. and she didnt try to give me some weirdo hipster haircut either because i didnt ask her to do that so she didnt. do you see where im going here? ask kerri, and you shall receive. read more

I have awfully thin and flat hair and have never really had a great hair cut to help it out. During my first appointment with Kerri I told her to do whatever she thought would help my poor hair (while keeping it easy to maintain) and she did wonders. After switching hair salons four different times within the first year or two that I lived in Charlotte, I finally found Brooke Underwood Ridberg, and have not looked back! I have been seeing Brooke as my stylist for about six years now and even followed her from Varji and Varji to her new salon, Flirt. I love it! The salon, easily accessible, but just enough off the beaten path in Dilworth, is the perfect place to relax. Brooke is fantastic at what she does and always knows what color and styles will look best. In addition, Brooke is so personable, she makes you feel like you are sitting in a friend's living room, rather than a salon having your hair done. I wouldn't go anywhere else and look forward to being a client of Brooke's for years to come!! read more

Fantastic place. Very happy I found it! Kerri is wonderful. Whenever I splurge for some professional hair-doing, it seems most stylists can't resist (no matter what I say to deter them otherwise) applying sparse, "natural, golden highlights" with "some soft layers to frame the face" and then they flip the whole thing out with a blow-dryer and giant roller brush. And then charge $300. This is a lovely look, and I'm sure Kerri could do it. But she seemed excited for me that I wanted something "different." She gave me milk-chocolatey hair with red chunks underneath that peek out and blonde pieces on top just in the front... beautiful. Love it. I look like a happy, little fall leaf. She added more red chunks a week later when the first round was a little too conservative. And INSISTED on not charging me. Excellent customer service. Will not be going anywhere else. read more

I have been going to Brooke for my highlights for years. I was excited for her change of venue at Flirt Salon. Its in a great location and has tons of natural sunlight. Its a relaxing and quiet setting, not the typical bustling and million hair dryers all going at once. Obviously I love the location, but more so I LOVE my hair! Brooke has managed to really understand what I want out of my visit and offers suggestions on what will look best on me. I always get compliments on how great my highlights are. After living in both DC and New York I was having a hard time finding someone who could cut and color my hair to my liking in Charlotte. After reading several reviews online I found Kerri. I've been going to her for a few years now and have never been disappointed. She's never pushy but always has great suggestions when I start talking about changing my style or color. I always get compliments on my hair too. Flirt is a cute and casual salon in a great location. I love the ease of scheduling my appointments online and I've always found Kerri to be very flexible when I have a scheduling conflict. Loved my experience at Flirt. I'm new-ish to Charlotte and have had a couple bad experiences at some well-known salons in the area. I took a chance based on Yelp's reviews and gave Flirt a try, and I'm so happy I did! A very cute salon located in Dilworth, which is perfect since I live in South End and work uptown. The salon is charming, just 3 stylists but they each have their own room which I love as opposed to being lined up like cattle at other salons. I saw John who did an excellent job with my highlights and cut. He was on time, friendly, and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I'm definitely going back to see him. The salon itself is cool and relaxing, full of light and just has a great vibe about it. Also love they have online booking which is so convenient. I'm almost nervous to write this review because no one wants to give up a good secret! This place is definitely a gem. read more

Well - I don't think I have EVER written a negative review of a place, but like many of you, I know how hard it is to find a good stylist. I came to Flirt three times (same stylist each time) but will never return again. My first visit was great. The salon was quiet, my stylist was focused on me and gave me a great cut. Came back a second time and like others have said, I was squeezed in between multiple appointments, my stylist was busy talking to other clients and staff and was not really focused on my cut. I left disappointed but thought I would try one last time knowing sometimes people just have an off day. My last appointment was after almost 6 months without a cut and I wanted to get back to my short, angled bob. I knew I was being squeezed in that day which I thought would be ok. Appointment was over 30 minutes late starting (and I only had a 45 minute window) and the cut she gave me was NOTHING like the pictures I had shown her. I left with a mushroom cut and it was horrible. She kept saying how great it was, how much she liked it, and how she loved doing short cuts like this. She told me if I got home and didn't like it, she could fix it up for me anytime. It was a nice offer, but why would I go back when you just gave me a cut that was NOT CLOSE to what I had asked for and was probably the worst cut I have ever had??? Ended up going to a salon the next week and they saved my cut! It has now taken two cuts to fix the damage done at Flirt and for that reason, I wanted to recommend that others that they look elsewhere. Although I'm sure this place was once great, I can't say that any more. connected in any way to the owner or employees. read more

I chose to have my hair cut at Flirt based on the Yelp reviews, however I was incredibly disappointed with my experience. First, my appointment was scheduled for 2 weeks out. But that didn't bother me. I just assumed the salon did really good business. When I arrived for my appointment, another lady was having highlights done. So my appointment was basically squeezed into the middle of her hair appointment. I felt completely rushed. I also assumed that part of the appeal of going to a pricey salon was that the stylist would have some creativity and ideas as to what type of hair style best suits their customers. I was hoping for some ideas, as I had not had a stylish cut in years. My stylist apparently did not have time to work with me. After talking to me for less than a minute, she came to the conclusion that I was very conservative, therefore the only hair style option I had was a bob cut. So I paid $65 + tip to have a hair cut that I could have gotten at Great Clips. And it was uneven, which was probably do to the fact that my appointment was rushed. I had to return the next day to have it fixed. read more

For years I went to the best salons in New York for my cut and color. When I moved to Davidson I had several terrible experiences. It was so bad that I was driving back to New York to get my hair done. One day I saw a women with gorgeous hair and I asked her who did it. That is how I found "Flirt Salon"....I loved her three dimensional color and bouncy cut. I have been going for several years and I can't rave enough about Kerri. Now I am the one people ask about who does my hair and many people from Lake Norman drive to Charlotte and get their hair done at Flirt. All the stylists are good, but I only go to Kerri. She is super trained by the best in the business and knows what she is doing. A few years ago they were interning some young girls from the Aveda School and that is why there are a few bad reviews, they do not do that anymore and have expanded, adding another fabulous stylist. read more

Kerri was great! I just moved here from NY, so I was nervous about finding a good stylist. The salon was cute, served wine and she made me feel very comfortable. I had her cut and highlight my hair.
