Beautiful salon, professional stylists, and a relaxing mani/pedi room! I was in Charlotte for my East Coast wedding reception for my husband's family and friends and I needed my hair and nails done. My planning was late, but Re Salon was able to squeeze me in for a blow-dry and a mani/pedi as well as a mani/pedi for my mom. The mani/pedi room was so relaxing and surprisingly quiet - we never heard the blow driers from downstairs. And my hair looked great for the wedding photos! Seriously wish Re Salon was in Los Angeles, it would be my go-to salon! read more

I had my first haircut with Jesse a few weeks ago and it was great! I was apprehensive about going to a new stylist after having had several botched haircuts in the past. (I have thick, curly hair that has a mind of its own). Happy customer right here! Arthur is AMAZING!!! I moved to Charlotte a few months ago and trying to find a stylist in a new city was NOT a task I was looking forward to. I've had bad experiences in the past. Plus, I'm getting married in two months so no pressure right? As you can tell from my before picture I totally let my hair go due to the move and wedding planning. I had horribly grown out roots with lots of gray showing, totally fried ends from an old baylayage, and my color was faded with brassiness galore... Oh and don't even get me started with my bleached out eyebrows. Ugh. I sat down in Arthur's chair (the hot mess that I was) and was immediately put at ease during our consultation. He listened to my concerns as well as what I wanted, gave great feedback and has a fabulous sense of humor! The entire process was a pleasure and so much fun! He gave me a beautiful cut with lots of movement without taking off too much length, rich color with tons of dimension, and perfect eyebrows. Oh, and his blow outs are serious business, my hair still looked great when I woke up this morning. Wow! Arthur is magical and because of him my hair is on the road to recovery. Most importantly he helped me feel like myself again. Everyone at the salon was so nice. Love that they provide a complementary beverage, and the hot towel was a great touch. I've seen Jane for 8 years and am a loyal customer! I am so thrilled she made the decision to leave Modern. Modern can be stuffy and elitist. Re Salon is nothing like that. I have now gone a few times here. When you first pull in off of East you may be a little intimidated as I was. ( Choice of parking up front or in back) Quickly I filled out some paperwork and was offered wine. Always a plus. My first visit in was actually just for a blowout due to traveling all the time I don't feel I get a great shampoo always and spoil myself. Since Charlotte is lacking in blowout bars and understanding this concept I thought I would give them a try. I was paired with sweet bubbly Jessica she understood I needed a good shampoo and blowout only and did what I needed. I noticed my hair looked a little thicker than I prefer but still great for first time. Low and behold a few weeks later I was home in Charlotte again after a tragedy in my life while back where I normally get my hair done; my colorist moved to Austin and quit doing hair. I decided to let Jessica and the salon have at my hair. Being a blonde and naturally thick coarse hair I am very peculiar. I was again greeted with a glass of wine and spoke to about options and soothed thru process kinda like the parent with the kid at day care. Over all she did a great job on my color my cut is something we will learn together as my hair is difficult very thick. Overall time management was great. I also love to later hours if they are needed. Coming from Houston/ Dallas /L.A the prices are very reasonable. I'm looking forward to my next appointment with Jessica and to try out the very reasonably priced pedicures. I have found my new colorist in Charlotte which is a relief since moving here. read more

Yesterday I visited Re Salon & Spa for the first time for a customized chemical peel with Janeida. I usually don't write reviews (by usually I mean never) and I must admit--I'm very critical when it comes to customer service. Janeida exceeded expectations I didn't even know I had! She is the utmost professional, she put me at ease and made me feel extremely comfortable and the peel she gave me was the best I've had (I've had over 10+...). Diane has been doing my facials for a few months now and she's amazing! She really listened to me and came up with a unique strategy for my skin. She goes with the flow, looks at my skin and gives her best recommendation for what I need at each appointment. She gives me great advice to maintain clear skin post facial with an easy at home routine. I was in Charlotte for a wedding and picked this salon based on the other reviews. I definitely made the right choice! Lauren (esthetician) and Mariel (makeup artist/stylist) are both incredibly talented and very friendly and outgoing! The staff at the front desk are equally wonderful - you are greeted warmly when you arrive and they offer a beverage while you wait. The two level salon is lovely. I enjoyed my facial- she did a great job, assessed my skin condition and the facial was wonderful. I had a mani/pedi and my hair and makeup done at Re prior to my wedding in August. Everything about the experience was fabulous! The building is a renovated old fire station, which lends to the salon's great atmosphere. The receptionists were super friendly and the infused water is delicious! The wine was also a must given how stressed I was on the day of my wedding. Dashelle did my mani/pedi and it was probably the best I've ever had. She's super sweet and entertaining and you can tell she's passionate about her job. I loved talking to her. I am a clutz and had broken my toenail, which I was afraid would look bad for my wedding, but she fixed it so it wasn't even noticeable. She also shaped my nails perfectly. I couldn't recommend booking an appointment with her enough! Elizabeth did my make up and it was perfect. Like everyone else at Re she is super friendly and sweet. I opted for far less make up than most people would probably recommend on your wedding day, and I'm sure it went against her professional opinion, but she went along with what I wanted and I left feeling like an enhanced version of my every day self, which is exactly what I wanted! Lastly, Autumn did my hair and I can honestly say that I never once thought "oh my god, what is she doing to me?!" like I usually do when my hair is professionally styled. I loved the way she styled it and it held strong through my long, humid day with tons of outdoor pictures, the wedding ceremony, and reception. I knew I was in good hands the whole time, which means a lot! In summary, Re salon and spa was the perfect choice from beginning to end and I can't recommend it enough! I recently moved to Charlotte and was so happy to find a great salon for waxing, hair and mani/pedis. Delia does a great job on manicure and pedicures, she has an amazing technique using an electric machine, that is more efficient, cleaner and faster. She pays special attention to making sure you are comfortable throughout the entire appointment and gives great advice on how to take better care of your feet. She is also VERY attentive to sensitive toenails and ingrown nails. Melissa is a wonderful esthetician! Waxing is never pleasant, but somehow she makes it a very positive and definitely less painful experience. Like Delia, she knows her job well and is great at sharing advice on how to take care of my skin better. It's also really nice to not dread a waxing appointment anymore. read more

I got the o2 facial, and I don't know if my skin has ever felt/looked better! I don't have perfect skin, by any means. Never been the girl who looks perfect without makeup, by a long shot. I actually had came into this salon a couple of months ago. And although this salon is very beautiful and clean, it was not what I expected at all. First, I had to wait forever, literally about 20 minutes for my scheduled appointment. The receptionists were rude and unfriendly and as I'm sitting in the waiting area they're gossiping and snickering and making me feel very uncomfortable, never even saying a word to me since I sat down in the chair. After I'm finally taken upstairs, I have to wait ANOTHER 5 minutes while the lady is literally talking to another customer about her vacation...seriously. I'm standing there so awkward like. Then after my appointment, I was showed downstairs while the lady is again talking to someone else and said she would meet me down stairs to get me the information I had asked her about, and I have to wait downstairs again for another additional 10 minutes. As a new customer I felt very unimportant and the salon/staff was not hospitable at all. Very stuck-up and judgmental atmosphere. And the services are WAY over priced. I just had the best Ashiatsu massage from Mare and had to tell everyone I know how great it was (and everyone on Yelp as well). From the moment I walked into her studio I knew I was in for a special treat when I was told to relax in a big comfy chair and soak my feet in a hot bath and then got an exfoliating foot massage (what? I thought she was just going to walk on my back!) This really set the scene, getting me nice and relaxed while we discussed any sore spots or problem areas I wanted to address. The massage that followed was really the best I've ever experienced. Mare used the perfect amount of pressure to go deep but never painful and leave me feeling really great. After a lot of mountain biking in the last couple months, I walked in the door today with sore legs and a sore lower back. Mare erased all the soreness and left me feeling really great. I can not wait until my next appointment! Anyone wanting a great, deep massage should try Ashiatsu, and I can not imagine anyone better to go to than Mare at RE! read more

I am new to the Charlotte area and it was time for a facial so I booked an appointment with Re Salon. I usually get a Deep Pore Cleansing Facial back home in Atlanta. I went online and researched several places and found Re. On the listing of available services on Re's website, I noticed they did not offer Deep Pore Cleansing which is a very common/popular facial so I gave them a call to inquire if they offer this facial (specifically requesting deep pore cleansing), after being placed on hold to confirm with the Estheticians, the receptionist responded that this service is indeed offered but I would have to first come in for a consultation. After that I asked for the price ($110), which is what I normally pay for this kind of facial. I booked an appointment for the same day and when I got there I noticed it was a full service facility (including a hair salon with pretty loud music). I had the consultation and was told that they truly do not offer a deep pore cleansing, I was pretty upset but they reassured me that this is a med. spa and that the service I want could be under a different name. After which, I told them that I go to a med. spa back home where I get this service all the time. The actual facial experience: -Normally a deep pore facial would start with cleansing the face and eye areas. However; the esthetician completely missed my eye makeup and didn't remove it. -Fast forward into the facial, I was telling her where to make extractions in addition to not being able to feel the vapor on my face (the whole purpose of the vapor is to "open" up your pores)...Anyways bottom line is the results were sup-bar as I still have clogged pores on my cheeks, chin, and forehead...the only area she managed to get was my nose. I did pay for my facial but I will never return to this place and hope that I can find a more spa-like experience like I did at home. This has been the most awful spa experience to date, especially given the $110 price and they couldn't even get things right and clean my face properly. The experience itself was not "spa-like" and there was not a shred of serenity considering I could hear the loud music from the hair salon blasting through the door, on top of that I had to constantly remind the esthetician about all of the areas she was missing instead of relaxing. read more

I have attempted to contact this salon THREE times to inquire about an order I place on their website. I've emailed them twice and tried calling once. I have yet to hear back from them on the status of my order. No reply at all. It's been 2 weeks since they've withdrawn funds from my credit card, but I can't get anyone to tell me what happened to my order. I'll have to go through the inconvenience of disputing the charges with my credit card company. So disappointed this has turned into such a hassle. My friend went to RE SALON AND MED SPA to get laser vein removal around her nose and Mandy Brazemore the RN at RE SALON AND MED SPA burnt her with the laser and left a pit on each side of her nose. Sometimes you just need to walk on the wild side - that being said, changing hair salons after many years is as wild as I can get. But yelp reviews of Jesse and his expertise with short hair drew me in. I was greeted immediately and directed to a waiting area, nice cushy seats and lo and behold a glass of red wine to fortify the task ahead of me. Jesse greeted me by sitting down next to me to talk (think he was really doing a fly by to see what miracle he needed to perform). Then onto the chair (wine firmly in hand) to discuss my football shaped hair cut. Jesse listened - OMG what a concept! Then a wonderful shampoo, hot towel (heavenly) and Jesse started working his magic. All done and ten years had fallen off my face onto the floor to be swept away - Halleluiah! A quick hug and out the door with assurances that I will return in 4 - 5 weeks to rinse and repeat. Side note: left hubby at Nikko just down the street at the bar to wait for me. When I walked in he greeted me with - now that's what I'm talking about - he loves the new look and so do I. But the real test came this morning when fumble fingers had to try to recreate "do" from last nite - piece of cake - blow dry and tossle and I was out the door. After living here for 5 years , I finally found my hair salon and the perfect team of stylists. My mom and I both went for cut and color with Jesse and Autumn. My mom has short dark hair and I have long blonde and both were done perfectly. From the moment we entered, to the moment we left, we were treated incredibly well and were so impressed by how all of the staff helped one another and took great pride in their work. The salon is gorgeous, but doesn't have a pretentious feel like most high end salons in Charlotte. I highly recommend Jesse for cuts and Autumn for color, they listen and actually deliver beautiful results. I had been suffering from an extreme headache for approximately 6 days. The thought of going to the doctor crossed my mind after day 4. I had friend tell me to consult a massage therapist before doing so. I called Re and made an appointment with Mare. Once I arrived, I had a conversation with Mare about the headaches and the level of pain. She gave me some insight on how certain muscles located in my neck, can inflame and affect the muscles in the temple area of my head. This is where the immense pain was located. After an hour long session, the head pain had completely disappeared!! In the past, my impressions of massages had always been for purposes of relaxation ...never medicinal. This was an eye opening and an amazing experience!!! Mare's knowledge and experience alleviated my pain and made me a true believer in the medicinal and healing properties of massage therapy.
