I just left after a first visit and was very impressed with the staff and ambience as well as my manicure! Connie gave me a great gel manicure and I was impressed with her care and thoroughness. I haven't had a gel manicure this clean in a long time and my hands look, feel, and smell amazing! read more

It's expensive here but you get a lot more than other spots. Hot stone massage? That was pretty cool. It was quick but did the trick. read more

I have been coming here religiously since 2012. Everyone is awesome, but particularly love Yang & Nicole. They literally treat my family like family! They've seen my oldest daughter grow from an infant to a little young lady. Yang is amazing with nail designs and their method of gel removal has kept my nails healthy and not brittle all these years. Love coming here & will continue to do so!! read more

OK...really, it's more 4.5 stars! I found Primp & Polish through an awesome Living Social Deal. I just moved to Brooklyn from San Francisco 2 months ago and had yet to establish my go to nail and waxing salon. So when this awesome 50% off a Gel Mani/Pedi usually priced at $67 popped up at $33...I figured why not? I am so glad I went! I loved the gel bath spa for the pedicure. It felt amazing, like stomping in warm jello (probably not the best desciption, but trust me, it feels good!) And I am absolutely in love with my Sparkle Pink toenails! And my gel manicure? OMG...amazing. When I read about how the gel manicure could withstand rough activity, I was skeptical. I play the guitar, so I stopped getting manicures cause the paint would chip in seconds. But last night, after my "gelicure" I was jamming out with the acoustic and to my surprise, my nails were still in tact! I was amazed...and oh so happy. I also did an add on and got my eyebrows waxed to get them out of hairy caterpillar mode (gross). Since I've moved I'd been so busy tying loose ends together I kinda let myself go in the pretty eyebrow department. However, Abby, who did my mani-pedi, also did my eyebrows and they afre so cute! They aren't my usual shape, but I like the change. I left feeling prettified...and I think that's all that matters! Feeling good! I am definitely planning on going back in 2-3 weeks depending on how long I can make this gelicure last. However, the one draw back is the price... Without a Daily Deal site's assitance, this 20-something y/o is gonna need to save up for the next visit that I am ballparking around $80. Yikes! read more

I chose to move to Williamsburg - but was so apprehensive about finding good beauty salons ... nails, hair etc. It doesn't exactly seem like the place where people go ham for a good spa. However - Primp and Polish saved my life. The spa pedi's are great, manicures fantastic and efficient and they have an amazing selection of polishes - including Chanel and Dior. Which is everything. The store is chic, well maintained and the staff are great. Oh, and you can book online if you need to! read more

I'm so disappointed by the mani-pedi done yesterday at this salon. One of my toenail chipped right after and this morning my hands do not look good either... Also why should we pay and tip before the service is completed. Not very clever from a client service perspective. On top of that, my bank went suspicious when I tried to pay from their payment terminal and issued a fraud alert on my credit card. read more

Clean and lovely place. Meticulous and talented nail artists. Lots of colors to choose from and discounted gel mani and gel pedi if you come during the week m-thurs before 4 pm. read more

Best location of this chain in my opinion, I get manicures with regular (not gel) polish here and always have great experiences. Price for the area is average and they are always quick and do a nice job, plusI love the range of polish that they have here. Highly recommend. read more

Nice salon in many ways -talented staff, nice choice of polish, cute decor, but they are understaffed. I had an appointment and have to wait 25 minutes after that time to get my nails done. They also kept lying about the wait time - telling me and other guests that it would only be "5 minutes". Two other people walked out while I was there, angry that the staff had lied about wait time. Go here... only if it isn't busy, but don't trust that a reservation will hold your spot. read more

On the upside, the place is very clean. Cute atmosphere. And an incredibly large selection of polishes On the downside, my mani-pedi left much to be desired. The massage was very, Very light and short. She scraped too much off on the side of my foot, and now it's raw and sensitive to touch. And I have polish on the skin around my toes. They only take cash tips. So unless you want to use their generic atm, be sure to bring some cash with you! I gave them three stars, because the establishment itself was so appealing. Maybe I just got a bad manicurist. read more

I absolutely loved this place!!!!! From the greet to the service in this location was perfect. They are so attentive to you and your needs, which you don't find anymore without it requiring for you to pay an arm and a leg. They rub this little lemon on your toes, provide you with a complimentary sugar scrub on your legs and feet. They make sure of any ingrown nails, i am telling you this place is awesome. I recommend it to anyone!! read more

Wow incredibly bad and expensive pedicure. Seriously one of the worst pedicures of my life and I've been getting them for over 35 years. I thought I'd pamper myself and get the nicest one offered. What was I thinking??? Go to Lys Nails on Bedford. Their pedi is half the price and they do a better job. Not great but better than this. Wow I feel like such a sucker read more

I called before hand as I don't live far and they got me an appointment for 10 minutes later. Happy days. I had an express gel manicure from Maggie that cost $35 inc tax. Which is decent price for the area. It took around 30 minutes in total. This included filing, trimming nails and cuticles, hand scrub and massage as well as the gel application. Maggie's a no-nonsense quick and sufficient nail technician who did a really detailed job. The manicure is really even and my hands look great. This is the first time I ever had gel and she has definitely convinced me this is the way. I am surprised how fast it dries. Lady at the front desk was polite and helpful. I am interested in seeing how long it lasts, and will probably update my review on that aspect. Cash tip only, but they have an ATM inside with a $2 fee to use. I do recommend, especially if you need to get in and out and on your way. read more

Let me start my saying that I've been to a lot of high end and immensely pricey nail salons, getting tons of art. The prices AND the quality at Primp & Polish are vastly superior to any of these places. Winnie and Michelle have done fabulous negative space manicures for me, and are meticulous as well as insanely lovely and polite! I was offered green tea immediately, and they both triplechecked that I was happy with the size of the triangle and top coat finish. The prices are AMAZINGLY competitive and Mon-Thurs, between 10am-4pm you get $5 off regular gel manis AND 50% off nail art. They also have great samples of what the designs look like and then you can customize the color palette. I'm thrilled to have taken a chance and tried a new salon in Brooklyn, versus going to Manhattan places like I normally do. I'd recommend making an appointment online to ensure timeliness and availability, but this place is wonderful! read more

I've been coming to primp and polish every two week for almost two years! So clearly I love the All of there nail boutiques. They have 5 locations in close proximity of each other. All locations are clean. All staff are very helpful and friendly. read more

Manicure lasted 3 days. Pedicure already chipping after 5 days. Also smelled like a chemical factory when you walked in. Bad ventilation. Too pricey for what you get. Your basically paying for ambiance. read more

I came here to get gel nails and a pedicure. The gel manicure was great but the pedicure was another thing. After getting my pedicure done the pedicurist person dropped a towel on my tows, messing up my two big toe nails. Her attempt at fixing it was horrible. I left with my toe nails being all messed up and feeling frustrated at her attempt of trying to fix it. When I called to complain the receptionist had little to say about the service and didn't offer a solution or anything. As well tips are only cash, even if you pay with card, heads up for anyone coming here. Although I would recommend you don't waste your time and go somewhere else. read more

They take their time and it lasts! Relaxing environment and they always work to fit you in.

The new receptionist is super nice and since my last review this place has improved not only in the quality of their mani pedi (probably the best in Williamsburg). But also in welcoming their clients. It could be 5 star but my credit card say. 'No!'. At the end quality has it's price. read more

So I went back and the pregnant receptionist couldn't be bothered. I sat and waited and waited and waited while she had the company phone and her cell phone up to her ear asking her friends if they felt the earthquake (this was in August). One woman was so upset with her service, I watched her paint her own toes in the reception area. A hot mess. The receptionist couldn't be bothered. I waited my turn and after 35 minutes I was called. I wanted gel but most of the colors were out. I waited too long to just walk the F out so I got a plain pink manicure & high tailed it out of there. I still have $$ on my gift card but cant see myself going back to that BS. Enter at your own risk, the service is hit & miss. read more

I went in the same day to see if the damage could be un-done. Jessica, the receptionist (manager?) was very apologetic and sweet about getting my nails fixed and agreed that the state my nails were in were unacceptable. I'd totally give more stars if the manicurist was the same way, but unfortunately she wasn't. She didn't apologize and convinced me almost that it was my fault for choosing regular polish over gel. I do understand that gel is the way to go for designs, but I've had the same thing done with regular polish without any problems before. Anyway, I reluctantly agreed to go with gel, and was charged $13 extra ($10 off still so that was good). Surprise, this time she painted the light color, and then went over carefully for the dark. I admit my nails look pretty great now, but I wish it turned out this way the first time around. When it came to paying, I wrote $15 total ($13+$1 credit card fee + $1 tip on top of original), she laughed and said I need to write "$5" under "tip", not total. Thanks. I tip you first for a sloppy job, add a little something for re-doing, and you expect $5? I do want to give primp & polish another chance, but definitely with another manicurist. read more

Came in around 6:30pm on a Saturday after making a 7pm appointment. They weren't busy and were able to accommodate me and a friend as well. I guess you just have to go when they aren't totally slammed--it's a much quieter, spa-like experience. Our techs took their time with the massage part and it was a great experience. Credit card machine was "down"--that was a little bit of a bummer. **update: My friend and I went our separate ways but both of us ended up with bigtime smudges on both our nails and toenails. Now, I came home and watched a movie after allowing plenty of time to dry at the salon. Make sure you ask for quick dry top coat or something--this is a major problem here. read more

With much anticipation I brought my best girl friend here so we could have fabulous manicures w design. I spent 40$ on what ended up being a horrible mess. I'm so sorry to say we were both terribly disappointed. The design was very bad for both my friend and myself. But what is even more surprising is that the manicure was awful too! What a waste of money. read more

Great spot! Yang is my gal! This place is immaculate? polishes all lined up and you can even pick out whatever design fancies you. Love coming to this Primp and Polish location! Yang and Danny are the best and always take care you me! I don't know the receptionist's name, but she's always nice and helpful. Thanks ladies!!! read more

I just spent $200 on nail services here. I got home to find all of my toe nail polish smudged, after being assured they were dry (sat through hard gel nail tips after pedi). I have been coming here since the day they opened like 9 years ago. I am flying out of town for a wedding in the morning and called back to find out the color used so I could attempt to fix myself. The receptionist could only tell me that's it's nobody's fault. Fine...but why not offer reimbursement or a free pedi when I return consider I have been such a loyal customer for many years? You guys just lost one...never coming back. read more

This place is great! So clean, and the staff is very attentive and welcoming. Yoyo is great- I will definitely be back.

The best nail salon I've been to and I've lived here for 7 years! I started going about 2 or 3 years ago and eventually it became the only salon I go to. Has a wide range of gel colors (I get gel about every three weeks, am addicted) and everyone does a decent if not amazing job (and everyone is relatively fast as well). Nicole who works at the desk is super friendly and accommodating and it's always a delight to see and talk to her! Definitely recommend to anyone whose looking for a gel mani that's done both well and fast. read more

This location is very awesome I have been with my girl Maggie for about 15 yrs when she started at their first location, they are very polite and they give you exactly what you ask for as well as the front desk Girl Nicole she help me match my color with perfect match to give me exactly what I wanted. This was the best place that I went to in years!!! The atmosphere and staff are very nice, friendly and professional. Moreover, I was taking in as a walk-in and did not have to wait for more than 5 min! The pedi with addition of lemons and hot stones are MUST have, and they are automatically included in the service! Very unique and nice! Will def come back again!!!! You are best guys! read more

The girls at Primp & Polish were super professional. The salon is clean and modern. Their Gel selection is unlike anything I've never seen before -so many colors to choose from!! When I asked to have them re-do a design I wasn't too happy with they obliged and took care of me with a smile. Strongly recommend Primp & Polish! read more

I am writing this with one of my eyes closed. I decided to come in for a quick eyebrow wax. Unfortunately the lady dropped the wax onto my eyelid then used a cloth with oil only to make it worse. I am not sure if it is wax or oil in my eye right now but I am 100% sure to never go back to this place. They continued to charge me for the services and insisted nothing was wrong. I am now spending the rest of the evening in the hospital. read more

Claire was amazing. She was friendly, made me feel pampered, and the mani-pedi I received looks great. The place felt clean, modern, and I loved the fact that I could drink unlimited tea. Would definitely come back again, especially for Claire! read more

It's not the first time I've visited nail salons in NYC to nurture my addiction to gelish. The last one I visited last week was "Primp and Polish" in Williamsburg. It's unfortunate the money they spent on the interior and snobbish attitude by the dark-haired Ke$ha wannabe receptionist didn't reflect the service they intend to provide. Rude, obnoxious and boring, this establishment gets a big fat 0/10 from me, especially since my "2-3 week manicure" started peeling off after 4 days. read more

Primp & Polish is the best NYC nail salon I've been to in 5 years. Their gel manicures last 2+ weeks and the pedicures are great too. I also appreciate the atmosphere which is more relaxing than the typical salon. In this case it's worth the extra price. My only complaint is that I've consistently waited 30+ minutes to be helped even though I made appointments. read more
