Helen is the queen of acrylics. Truly. Of all the salons I have been to over the years and the many nail techs that I have had- she wins, hands down. The fastest, most perfectly shaped, most affordable, and perhaps most importantly, the strongest. I've been getting acrylics with her for 10 years on and off and I've hardly ever experienced any cracking or breaking and when I have it was my own fault. I've moved apartments, done remodeling, washed eleventy million dishes, worked out, lifted weights, fallen down stairs etc etc lol... and these beauties have held up through it all! Go see her! Me and my mother in law went together to get gel manicures as well as pedicure and eyebrows waxed. This was by far the worst service we've ever received. We had the same technician do the gel for us both and she did a horrible job. Both of our gel manicures were very sloppy, she cut my mother in law while removing her cuticles. My nails are naturally long and I requested a tip on one nail which broke off, the tip she did isn't even glued fully to my natural nail. She waxed my mother in laws eyebrows with no shape at all and there were hairs still left in areas that should have been clean. This was supposed to be a relaxing Saturday pampering however her energy was totally off putting/rude and she did a terrible job for the both of us. This is my first time at this nail salon. When I arrived I was greeted by one of the technicians who also seemed to be the manager. The place was almost empty so I only waited 5 min. The technician who did my nails spoke very little English, so it was hard at times to communicate to her what I wanted. Nevertheless, we were able to figure it out. She was nice and very fast, but did pay attention to details. Efficient work and beautiful regular manicure for $10 before tip. Gel manicure is $25. I was lucky enough to have Helen do my nails. Their selection for gel colors is amazing. They have so many different shades! Very current colors as well. I settled on a dark winter shade. Helen is very thorough. She takes her time and did a great job with my nails. She got rid of all the dead skin around the cuticles as well. The prices are great at 25$ for a gel mani. Great place for manicures, although I'd call ahead and ask for Helen. She's the only one that seems to know what she's really doing and can speak English. Don't expect a spa experience, though. This is a relatively newer nail salon on Lorimer. I've been here numerous times over the last 8 months or so and am pretty pleased with the consistent service. It's a big, clean space that was pretty sparse but is now slowly being more and more decorated by the owner. I would recommend getting gel manis here, they do a pretty good job. Mine has lasted three weeks now. I do wish they would spend a little more time and care on your feet but not many nail salons do. Overall would definitely recommend! read more

Nice little salon and it's cleaner than other salons in this part of town. When the salon became a bit crowded on a Thursday afternoon, a customer came in and asked how long the wait was. The technician that answered was very honest and told the lady that they were very busy and the wait would be long. Most employees at other salons would have just encouraged her to sit and wait for the rest of her natural days so I thought the honesty was cool. I agree with another reviewer about the short amount of time they spend on your feet and I've been to other salons where they give a free leg massage and put the massage chair on for you for a few moments free of charge. This place is a hidden gem! I commute 3 stops from where I actually live to get my nails done. And it's so worth it! I scheduled an appt for an acrylic fill in, got one right the next day. At first I was a little thrown off by the quietness and that fact that nobody else was there. The place was super clean and shiny and Helen was sweet and knew exactly what I wanted. The outcome! Omg! Beautiful, thin! Natural looking nails. And they have a great selection of colors and brands. The second time I added a pedi and a ten minute massage. Feet are in fleek, the lady who did them was very nice and I paid 55 dollars for everything!!!! I know there are tons of fancy shmancy places in this area now, basically charging for the look of the salon rather than the service. Here you get it all, serenity and good service at a great price. RUDEST experience I have ever had in a nail salon! Maybe because I was a walk in? I was treated so rudely the whole time and never even asked what I wanted. She went and got massage rocks and literally went down the side of my leg for one second and that was all. Then she glared at me when I did not add a tip....finally I felt badly so I gave her 10% and she rudely stashed it as though it was nothing. I came here the other day for a simple manicure and they did a fanastic job. The salon is clean and very well priced for this area. They have a great selection of polishes along the wall, but they were not sorted by color, which was overwhelming. This is going to be my go-to nail spot. I highly recommend going here. read more

I have been going to Helen for about 2 months now. I usually get a Full Gel Set. I like this shop a lot. its quiet and clean. The equipment is constantly being sanitized throughout the day and everyone is cleaning or up keeping the store during down time. They don't talk too much and they are not hovering over you watching as you get your nails done. I'm my experience the Owner is usually in the highest demand and does the worst work. But not Helen. She is gentle. time efficient and overall a pleasure to work with. She has never cut me or made any mistakes. My nais last well over two weeks before I have to go back. I have never experienced that before. The prices are reasonable and its always a good time. read more
