Let me tell you guys, I grew up in this area, have been doing my nails in NYC for over 20 years, and the regular manicure here lasts me longer than any other manicure I've ever gotten, over two weeks with no chips. I'm a bartender so my hands tend to be wet a lot, but even with that, this manicure just FEELS different. They don't soak your hands in water, they use some kind of cuticle liquid to remove cuticles, etc., but whatever it is, I now make sure I only come here. Prices aren't too cheap, $17 manicure, $33 pedi, but they are thorough and I add a $3 design to spice it up. With how long it lasts, to me, the price is justified. They also give great massages, these ladies all have good hands so even the quick hand and foot massages during the mani/pedi are amazing. It's also very clean, quiet, and spacious in here. this place is a 10/10. there are so many nails places in willysburg and it can be overwhelming to decide where to go. on one end you got them bougie bougie bright interiors that looks more like the inside of one of those museum of ice cream places, then on the other end you have the other hole-in-the-wall that gets the job done but you feel like you're bothering them paying for business. well this spots sits perfectly between both ends. i live in downtown brooklyn and while there are a good mix of affordable and bougie spots, i don't have a regular spot bc they either 1. are not worth the money or 2. do a terrible job. i'm now going to take the G to willysburg just to go to gather. $50 for a full service pedicure + 10min massage?!?! are you kidding me? these women have the hands of a strong angel bc i've been to many a massage spots but this might have been the best foot massage i've EVER gotten. i didn't even notice myself letting out an audible "nooo" when the timer went off after the massage. it was THAT good. they have those headrest massage chairs and when i walked in there were 2 women getting massages and i remember thinking to myself, why are these women getting massages at a nail salon when there are 100 massage locations nearby? but that was old me, new me knows now. heck, i'd come here just for those strong hands anywhere on my body. the place is right off the bedford L and a little bit of a walk from the G but not bad at all. it's bright, spacious and super clean inside with 8 new massage chairs, a few nail stations and i think 3 massage chairs. i ended up paying $65 bc i got gel for my toesies and it may have beeen the best $65 i've ever spent on a mani/pedi! read more

Just awful service. I showed them how badly the job was done and they wouldn't even fix the bubble bumps under the polish. The vibe felt cheap and the woman herself said they have bad/old polish. So disappointed. The manicure was $16 and I tipped her $10, then they tried charging me $1 for the top coat that dries your nails quick. Never going back here again. Also the nail lady coughed straight at me without apologizing. Don't go here unless you're happy with half painted nails with bubble bumps underneath. read more

We didn't call ahead and they were able to get us in and out within an hour which was nice. Shaping/filing was good but I'm pretty disappointed with the actual nail painting part because the technician refused to paint the tips any thicker than EXACTLY over the white parts of my nails, which obviously are going to grow out... I asked her to paint it a bit more after which she said oh well your nail only goes that far. Well yes, but won't it grow out so shouldn't you paint it a little higher than what it is currently? Lo and behold, 5 days after my manicure the white part of my nail grew out and is now peaking out from the colored part. Which is exactly what I said was going to happen. Disappointing that I got a decent manicure but 5 days in it is starting to look a little silly since my nail is peaking out. Also think they charged some tax/fee for a credit card payment which there was no heads up/signage for, so my $45 mani came out to like $47 and change plus tip. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I use to regularly go to this spot until about 2 weeks ago I went to get a manicure. While the girl was cleaning underneath my nail she accidentally went too deep and stabbed me. I yelped back and she laughed it off. Cut to a week later my middle finger is completely infected-I've never seen a finger like this before it was twice the size, white with pus and throbbing in pain. I went back to them to fix it but they told me to go to citymd around the corner and I got charged $225 for them to drain my finger. I go back to ask for a refund and they won't give me one. So the manicure I got there ended up being almost $300 with the hospital bill I was left with. Unbelievable! read more

I've been here a few times now and it's now my go to spot to get my nails done. It's a big space, and very clean. They're always very nice and quick. I also think this is the best priced nail salon in Williamsburg. I never have any complaints on my nails and they last for a while. I got a dip powder manicure here a week and a half ago after reading positive reviews about Gather Nail & Spa on Yelp. The place looked clean and my nails looked great initially but after just 1 week (dip/SNS powder lasts well over 3 weeks when applied elsewhere), they started to chip apart. Each day strands of my hair got caught underneath my nails as they started to lift up from my fingers. This was frustrating to begin with because I paid over $50 and expected them to last. I just removed the remaining polish from my fingers and am horrified. My nails are now so brittle, thin, and discolored. I have black/brown nail fungus underneath every single fingernail. I have been consistently getting dip powder at other salons for the past 4 years and have never ever seen my nails in this condition. My nails were so strong and healthy before getting them done here, as I had not been back to a nail salon since March due to COVID-19. Really disgusted. read more

Excellent service! I was a walk-in for a pedicure and they took me right away. The pedicure was very thorough, relaxing, and she was very gentle. The initial color I picked was still too light with three coats. Without any hesitation or irritation someone on their team repainted my toes with a darker color. I got a regular manicure here. My experience was just ok. The cons: First, the woman doing my nails kept asking me if *all* I wanted was a manicure. I get that a regular manicure is their cheapest offering, but I was pretty clear that that's all I wanted, and it was uncomfortable to be pushed several times. Second, the manicure itself wasn't anything awesome. My nails are shaped a bit unevenly and the cuticles aren't fully off (the polish is lifted over them at the base of my nails). The manicurist dropped the nail file on the floor at one point, picked it up, and kept filing my nails. She was pretty rough when filing the cuticles as well. She also kept having to wipe off excess paint because she was putting it on thickly. Finally, she upcharged me for "quick dry" top coat without telling me it cost extra, but I guess that's standard fare at a nail salon. The pros: The salon seemed clean (aside from reusing dropped tools). It was a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. They took my walk-in in the evening right away, and I saw them also accommodate another woman who came in early for her appointment. Overall, it's not too busy. Aside from pushing about what I wanted, the woman doing my nails was polite. My manicure was $11 (before tip, would've been $10 save for the quick dry top coat) which I consider pretty cheap. I hate doing my nails at home, so for the price I'd come back. read more

Gather was my go to place when they opened in the Fall of 2019. It was large, spacious, clean, reasonably priced, and was serviced immediately upon walk in. Six months ago I'd stop by only to be told they were booked solid with appointments and asked to come back in a half hour. Ok, fine except when they back peddled telling me there were no availabilities until 7:30PM. Unfortunately, you can't book an appointment for a manicure only. Every time after that I was told the same, come back at 7:30PM. I got tired of the flip flopping. Either a tech is available in a half hour or later on in the evening. Which one is it? Make up your mind. I was one of the their first clients to use their services and sent people to them to garnish more business. I found another salon a few blocks away in June. I have been here three times since it opened, and it's my new spot. The space is clean and large. The technicians are super friendly. They do extra things like a leg scrub for a pedicure and also a shoulder massage at the end while you are waiting for your nails to dry. They offer three coats on gels if they notice it isn't dark enough due to the color. Little things like that add up to me. Prices are reasonable. I can't recommend it enough! read more

My nails were long when I came in which I did intentionally because I wanted a little length to my nails. I showed what length I wanted my nails and my manicurist right from the start cut off all the length I had on my pinky which horrified me. She then went to proceed to make all my other nails longer to which I told her she had to even out the size because I couldn't have one nail significantly and obviously shorter than the rest. Then she didn't listen to the shape I wanted (round) despite me showing her the shape I wanted (I came in with the shape) and proceeded to make them very pointy and sharp and couldn't even do that properly as they came out very lopsided and not centered. I had to correct her many times to try and even out my nails but even that didn't help. The result is a very uneven lopsided and nubby set of nails that I'm not satisfied with at all. She didn't listen to a thing I wanted despite correcting her multiple times. This is the WORST experience I've ever had at a salon -- so much so that I have to warn others. So good! I walk past this place everyday and I've been meaning to stop in because they just opened recently. I got dip powder and the girl did an amazing job (totally forgot to get her name)!! All the tools were clean and straight from a sterilized package, she was extra thorough, and my nails turned out perfectly. The only thing I wish was different was a bigger selection of dip powder options. They probably have about 20-25 to choose from which is fine because they have the most popular colors, but I was looking for more shades of gray to choose from. I walked in to get a regular manicure done and asked for my nails to be cut short. The manicurist was really rough, she held my fingers so tight that I had to keep moving my hand to make it more convenient for her so she doesn't hurt me so much. I usually don't say anything because I am a pushover and don't like making people feel bad. After she cut nails on one hand half of my fingers were hurting where the nails were cut, I looked at them and they were cut so short!!! right down to the meat. I asked for round shape but it became clear that no shape would be possible because there was nothing left to file! As I expected she barely filed my nails after she finished one hand I asked her to stop and said I didn't want her to proceed with my manicure. It's been two days and two of my fingers still hurt. It's been the worst manicure I've had in my life. She was probably new but literally anyone who had done manicure a few times in their life would have done a better job. read more
