I hadn't gotten my nails done since pre-pandemic and was feelin like treating myself, so I decided to book Lili and Cata for a couple reasons: - They're one of the only nail salons in the area that have a website, post prices online, and let you book online - Reasonable prices (there are definitely cheaper places, but a lot of them looked less clean or had worse reviews) - Non-Toxic polish - Good reviews It was super easy to book an appointment, and a week later, I can say that I would highly recommend this place and it's definitely on the upper tier of nail places in NYC!! I got the basic gel manicure and regular pedicure, and it came out to $98 before tax + tip. I got my nails done with Jasmin, and she did a great job perfectly shaping my nails + painting. Also was so impressed with my pedicure (not pictured), as my feet were in terrible condition and they look soooo good now! It's been a week and my nails haven't chipped at all. Sometimes when I go to nail salons the paint job is a little messy, and when I do light colors I'm worried about it being streaky or uneven, but this place was really great about meticulously painting, and it looks great! They also give you a little moisturizer and hand/foot massage with the standard mani/pedi which was a nice touch. Everyone there was super nice and I like that there was a cafe attached where you could get something to sip on or eat while you waited. All in all, would definitely recommend, really high quality service and good value IMO, will be coming back soon! read more

We made a reservation for three to do our Lush gel manis at the greenpoint location on a Sunday afternoon. We showed up at the wrong location and they waited for us to essentially start 15 minutes later. I appreciated that. The Williamsburg location was more spacious and seemed newer. The Greenpoint location seemed cozy. My technician was Elena and she was really sweet. The tools seemed to be thoroughly sanitized and the filer seemed to be brand new, which I appreciated. I think the price is around $60 plus an extra $5 on each nail that has a design. Total was probably around $70 not including tip. I tipped Elena $20 because she was so sweet, she was amazing. I wanted something classy but glitzy and chose a pinkish color and a shiny glittery one. At the last minute after the gel mani was almost done, I asked for some designs. I think they didn't have the type of crystals and add ons that I really liked but opted to do two nails with designs anyway. I chose a dry flower design and three crystals. The technician was very patient but I don't think they had the proper tools to pick up the crystals. The tweezers weren't pointy enough to apply the crystals so it took some maneuvering but it finally made it on. It seems like the 3D designs aren't commonly done here. The final result I am decently happy with. We also got a quick hand massage and 5 minute back massage so that was a nice add on. My short stubby nails seemed to be elongated with the way my nails are shaped. I absolutely loved the glittery polish, I should have done all my fingers with this instead of the pink color. The 3D designs are okay, not the best and the flower fell off after 3 days, so I wouldn't recommend doing 3D designs here. My friend had a complaint about the nails and we were able to work with the owner to get her nails redone, so the service is quite good. If you have any issues, I recommend contacting them immediately to see if they can do something for you. read more

I found Lili and Cata via Google because I wanted a dry pedicure. I was able to get an appointment on the same day so I was grateful. The staff was very nice and friendly. That is a huge plus for me. They made sure you were comfortable. What I loved about this place was they have a Cafe inside. Who doesn't want to sip a chai or cocktail while getting a pedicure? Lol. Their cafe prices were very reasonable. As far as the service, my technician was extremely nice however the service wasn't worth the money at all. I regret getting my nails done because that is something I don't play with. I regret not going to my usual nail salon that is pretty much perfect. I just felt like taking a drive and trying a new spot. I won't return. My nails were mediocre and there was dried gel polish on my skin that I removed in the car. In my opinion, a technician sees your hands and they have a light so to be honest I shouldnt have to correct much,but that's my opinion. My toenails were okay as well. I came here last week for the first time as it's in my neighborhood and I've passed by numerous times. I was able to make an appointment online and it was a fairly simple process. When you step inside the salon, there's a cute cafe to the left of entry way. I got there a few minutes early and was able to take my time picking out my polish colors. LOVE! We just moved over here from Williamsburg and I'm so happy to have found my new regular spot. The owner checked on me a few times during my pedicure to make sure I was happy and things were going well which shows she cares. I love the movement of non toxic nail salons but often find a shortage of color options, not here! There was a huge color selection! My pedicure was super comfortable and relaxing. It was also pouring today and they didn't rush me out to make room for another guest, they let me take my time so my pedicure was dried ful There's also a gorgeous little cafe as you walk in. Will definitely be returning! UPDATE: I wanted to update my review but it remains 5 stars! I got a mani/pedi when they were able to reopen from COVID and I was so happy with my experience. They had every safety measure in place (some I didn't even think of) and they turned their backyard into a legit oasis. My experience was almost comical how bad it was.. I do not fully blame the nail tech as there was a language barrier and she just did what she was 'told' by the manager but I was more shocked and disappointed with how the 'manager' handled my situation. This place came highly recommended to me so I was extremely excited. The moment I sat down I showed the nail tech the first picture that I found on Instagram which is what I wanted. I am not a nail expert but as she was going through the process for my nails I started to get a little worried so I showed her the picture another 3 times through the process. The way she did them did not look like they were turning out that way but again I told myself I've shown her this picture multiple times.. I shouldn't be so dramatic so I let her continue on. To my horror and not much of a surprise I ended up with the second picture of the poorly done French.. the first picture and second are so clearly different my mind was blown. I asked to speak with the manager and when she arrived all she told me was you said French tips.. I specifically remember telling her on the phone that I am not good with nail lingo but that I have a picture of what I want an it's kind of like a French. The person on the phone told me I'll put that down for now and when you come in bring your picture which is exactly what I did. The nail tech and the manager both told me after 2+ hours doing these nails SHE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THE FIRST PICTURE/ SAME PICTURE I SHOWED THEM MULTIPLE TIMES I was ready to cry out of pure frustration and for how long I was there. I had my best friend's wedding I was leaving for so I did not have much time to go to another place so as they did my pedicure I thought about what to do.. I decided to make it easy and go for a solid color. The nail tech 'redid' the nails but she did a terrible job shaving off the remnants of the mistake which resulted in fatter looking lumpy uneven nails. When you see the last picture they look fine but to the side they were so horrible and lumpy. THIS IS THE KICKER-- the manager tried to charge me for their mistake in addition to what I was already supposed to pay for!! WHY SHOULD I PAY MORE FOR YOUR MISTAKES?! I also heard the manager incorrectly tell the owner what happened and tried to make it sound like it was my fault. This was seriously insane and I was still charged incorrectly.... I was still charged for a French even after I didn't end up with this. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ARE GETTING A SIMPLE MANI PEDI AND MAKE SURE TO TRIPLE CHECK BEFORE THEY CHARGE YOU I am just so upset about this still and really can't say enough to be careful when they charge you if you do get something done that isn't as simple. This was truly the worst experience I have has and just even more blown away with how inattentive this manager was since customer service is her job and mine was so poor.. if they better managed this situation I would not have written this lengthy review but from how awful they were people should be aware. read more

My nails started chipping 4 days after I got them done and this is my nails 10 days later. The indoor gel manicure is $47, after taxes $49.12. Yeah that's more than $50 after tips. For the price I'd expect them to last much longer. I've had nails last longer for less. I wanted to like this place bc I live in the neighborhood & didn't wanna go into Manhattan. The place is really cute and seems clean. The person who did my manicure was really gentle and nice. But just totally not worth it. Really disappointed. No, I didn't reach out. Because I shouldn't have to go in for a touch up after 4 days for a $50 gel manicure. A 7 day guarantee is pathetic, but I hope it strays people away. I was in search of an outdoor pedicure and came across Lili and Cata and promptly made my appointment. What a gem! The outdoor space is amazing and honestly I wish it would be offered as long as the weather allows! I was greeted by a friendly woman who took my temperature, had me use hand sanitizer, and helped me pick out my non-toxic polish (no touching the bottles during covid)! Elena did a great job on my half moon manicure- she really look her time and was very sweet. Everyone was wearing masks, and they took my temp and had me wash my hands upon entry. It was all very responsible and I felt safe. After, I enjoyed a black and white cookie from Brooklyn Whiskers- they have lots of vegan treats and some drinks available. Great relaxing environment, although I am disappointed with the work done on my nails. They're bumpy and my cuticles were not treated. The mani is sloppy There's a crack in my nail after one day. This is unacceptable for a $80 mani. I spent a total of $186 . It's such a drag to go to the salon to get it fixed when it should've been fine to begin with. STAY AWAY! I got a mani/pedi Tuesday3/8. It cost well over $80 with tips ($6 tip for mani, $10 to pedi tech) and the morning discount (would be over $100 without the AM discount). The manicurist cut me (see 2nd photo) and was about to cut me again and I yelped for help. She left my nails a mess (see 1st photo) even with a $6 tip. I asked the man who runs the place if someone could please clean the polish off of my skin (see above photo) and he said everyone was busy and commented "You're not coming back right?" I asked if he could remove the polish from my skin and he said he's not a licensed technician... to use nail polish remover. Had an amazing pedicure experience here! It was my first visit and I wanted to find somewhere close to Long Island City and that used non-toxic polish since I am pregnant. A quick ferry ride over was all it took to get here and the shop is beautifully decorated with super comfortable chairs to relax in for your pedicure. Since they use non-toxic polish, it does not smell like a nail salon when you enter and they will be opening a cafe section soon so it will smell like yummy coffee! =) I enjoyed the fact that the pedicure was waterless to save water and I left with my feet still feeling soft and smooth. Hands (ha!) down the best manicure I've ever had. Katty, my manicurist, paid amazing attention to detail and was absolutely fastidious. Made absolutely sure that my nails were perfect and listened very intently when I mentioned that my nails are very brittle and break easily. I've been to a lot of very good salons, but this was the first time I left entirely satisfied. Lili, the owner, was a sweetheart to boot. Not only did she make me feel very welcomed there, but she had no problem with a friend of mine sitting and waiting with me, even though she wasn't seeking services. Lili was very sweet when I mentioned some rough personal things going on in my life, and showed genuine interest and concern, rather than the typical "I'm listening because that's good customer service" vibe one often gets (at no fault of those, people of course; it was just really nice to receive the support). To top it all off, the ethics of the place are great. I know it's not the only cruelty-free game in town, but after going home and looking into their products a little more, I was very pleased by the obviously thoughtful sourcing. DISAPPOINTING FROM THE START!!! First here are some much better nail salons. With exceptional service and ambiance in Brooklyn. Element Nail Salon. Honey Nails (many locations in Brooklyn) much better options than Lili & Cata If ambiance is all you care about go here, everything else is horrible. Beyond disgusted with the treatment of the staff.. NO WATER PEDICURE so they do pedicures with no water. They have some reason that seems ridiculous to me. Charge to take of old polish, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't $12 dollars. A pedicure is upwards of $40. Gel polish upwards of $20. Booking is overly complicated. A 6 step process to book online. You first have to create an account already annoying. Then input your credit card info so they can charge if you cancel. Fine. With all of that you would expect to get a confirmation email right?? Wrong never received a confirmation email. Called to confirm my appointment, they have no appointment for me. And there are totally unwilling to accommodate myself and my friend. Cool. At 11am, I had another friend make an appointment to join us she was accommodated over the phone for a 11:45 appointment on the same day! Ultimately myself and 4 friends were going to get pedicures and all 4 of us had to cancel because of the employees unwillingness to accommodate us. Understandable they are busy cool! To add insult to injury the employee or whoever I spoke with was beyond rude! I made a comment that the nail polish removal seemed overpriced over the phone and she proceeded to follow my comment with "SO WHY ARE YOU COMING HERE" that's not customer service, yes I was frustrated but never raised my voice or used obscene language and for that to be the response i was shocked. When customers are willing to patronize a business that charges a premium for there services, the expectation is exceptional customer service!!! That is what customers are paying for PREMIUM SERVICES WITH ACCOMPANYING EXEMPLARY SERVICE!!! I spoke with this employee on Wednesday 05/02 at approximately 10:30am.
