Came here without an appt for a pedicure for myself and a little moon for my 6 year old. The staff made accommodations to take us immediately and it was very nice. We were given a choice of polishes. Some came with an additional charge. We went for the one that dried within 5 minutes for an additional $10 each. My daughter and I sat side by side and had our manis. From start to finish the pedicures took about 30 mins. While my technician was applying polish, I noticed it was unevenly coated on 2 of my nails. It was supposed to dry in 5 mins and after 7 mins I touched the uneven coat and it smudged. I asked the technician to fix it and she did. We waited about 10 mins for the polish to dry, my daughter waited longer since her pedi was short. When we got home her polish is completely smudged. Overall I enjoyed the experience but dont think this is for me. Even looking closely at our toe nails long after they dried, there are spots of missing polish on my feet and smudges on my daughters decal. read more

I really wanted to love this place. The aesthetic is so cute. This people, we're very friendly and yeah, lots of availability. It was a very short and safe walk from the William Vale hotel. Unfortunately, in a week, all of the gel nails have either chipped or completely peeled off. I do really light work with my hands and don't do anything that requires me to yse them agressively. I really don't have a problem spending money, but I paid almost ninety dollars with tip, and to have my nails completely destroyed within a week was very disappointing. read more

I got a nail strengthening mani/pedi and though I forget the name of the woman who did it, she was lovely and my nails - now over a week later - still look beautiful. I changed my mind a few times part way through and she handled it graciously. I got a manicure and pedicure, my manicure is already chipped and I got it done yesterday evening lol and my pedicure got smushed after I went to sleep, probably because they had to do 3 coats of color polish to achieve a solid color because again their polishing technique is not the best. I had asked my tech if it was dry and she said that my toes were dry but they weren't. I made an appointment for 5:25 pm today, for a stress free manicure. I have back to back plans tomorrow, Saturday, getting my hair done and meeting up for a date, plus I'm working to 5pm, I couldn't go any earlier in the day. I arrived early and was told to take a seat, they were busy for the late hour. Another woman arrived asked me if I picked my color yet, no one said anything, once I did she informed me that She "needed a few minutes." At this point it's way past 5:30pm, I had worked a very brutal week at work and realized they overbooked appointments. I informed reception I would be leaving and she let me know that me esthetician had been given add ons by the customer prior to me delaying my appointment. To be honest, I had an uncomfortable experience with a different esthetician here, who made me feel uncomfortable during a massage and I wasn't sure I wanted to return but I was in a bind because my nails are weak and needed to look good for tomorrow's date. Thanks a lot! Please ensure you don't overbook or ensure there is enough time between appointments. We spend a lot of money here over time and being passive aggressive when I say I'm going to leave when you're less than forthcoming about a change in your esthetician's schedule speaks volumes when I came here to unwind. read more

I've been getting my nails done by Nancy for a few months now. I love the products that are being used, get for sensitive skin. I was never able to grow my nails but since coming here they have been growing and staying strong. Super clean, friendly and attentive. Really bad experience. I came here because I had a gift card they had a horrible gel color selection. They told me to go to a nearby store to get the color I wanted in gel which I did. After they put it on they subsequently told me that it was not the correct type of gel for them. Why didn't they tell me ahead of time? . OK Manicure Clean, Basic and Simple Environment Issue with charge - Resolved (ish) with good customer service I stopped in after work on a weekday without an appointment. I was able to get a manicure with about a twenty minute wait. The salon has a nice but small selection of polishes to choose from. The desk manager was nice and responsive until I realized she misrepresented the services price to me. I wanted a basic manicure ($26). When I asked for a basic manicure, she told me a 5 minute oil massage or hand mask was included, even when she said that I was barely interested. mind you, I had to rely on her word since the prices are not posted anywhere. When I sat down with the technician, I repeated again I want the basic manicure. Come to find out she charged me for a FOCUS manicure ($36). The cost difference was not worth it - the massage was weak, the warm oil felt nice. I emailed the salon and they refunded me as well as offered an apology for the confusion. Now, the place is new. I thought it was minimalistic until I realized I missed certain things typically found in salons - massage chairs, walls of endless nail color options, etc. I also learned that while the name and branding is new this place is owned by the exact same people as the previous business in the space. lastly, my manicure looked good at first and then little bubbles, speckles showed up on my nails within an hour of leaving the salon. my hands were also white from the cream used on my hands. I can also see where the clear polish ends on the sides of the nail and that's not my preference. The technician who worked on my nails has 15 years of experience, was nice and took her time. is it worth the cost? in terms of products used, maybe (leaning yes). holistically, probably not. OH, and the salon is pretty peaceful and quiet when I was there EXCEPT it's located right in front of metal thing on the street that people periodically step on - this makes a LOUD noise and took me out of any serenity I could manage. read more

Honestly, when I've gotten pedicures in the past, it just feels like working at the place must not be a great experience for the women there, but I got a really different energy at Lunula Salon. Clean, and beautiful, I got a pedicure from Gita, and it was incredible. I guess I would say that most pedicures almost feel kind of like a fast food experience - it seems like they want to get you in and out. This felt closer to a more elevated spa experience. As someone with naturally long nails, it is hard to find nail salons that fits this criteria. I got my mani pedi by Nancy and she was lovely. The salon is clean and the music they play is melodic so it was a relaxing experience. Everyone is very nice and I appreciate the high quality skincare they use, however the manicure was very messily executed & I was charged extra for quick drying shellac nail polish without being aware beforehand. The French tip I got is extremely uneven & there was paint left under my nails. Would unfortunately not come here again even though the staff was very kind and the clean products are nice, it is not worth it for a sloppy execution at the price. Well- I wanted to like this place more. The renovation is lovely. The plants are nice and its super clean. Firstly, the selection of polish is very basic and small. I think they are trying to do the minimalist thing. Fine for me, but I brought my daughter in and there's nothing fun on offer (no glitter or interesting colors). The pedicure station is pretty odd and uncomfortable. There are no sinks, so they can't really adjust water temperature and the chairs aren't comfortable. My feet were in about an inch of tepid water. I really had trouble trying to relax while balancing my feet on a rounded tub. I felt bad for the technicians- it looks back breaking to try and bend over peoples feet. The chairs are just basic chairs with no massage option. After the service, the owner (or manager) asked how it was and I mentioned that I'm not sure I'll be back because I miss the massage chairs and the quick back rub while your polish drys. I thought I was being helpful but she asked what I meant as if she had no idea what a massage chair was and seemed surprised people expect a shoulder rub. Really?-how could you work in a salon and not know what a massage chair is? Also it was kind of priceyfor the kind of pedicure you can get anywhere. I really enjoyed getting my French gel manicure with extensions here because the place is very clean and for once in my life I could actually understand the language being spoken in a nail salon in New York City. And I don't mean that in a negative way, but it's just sort of refreshing to know that the people working and doing your nails can actually have a real conversation and understand what exactly you want. I was seen right away without an appointment at Around 5 PM on a Wednesday night so that was shocking that the place excepted me without a reservation. I got pretty lucky though, because moments after she started doing my nails, it seemed like so many women were turned away due to a fully booked schedule/busy night for them. Nails: As far as my nails are concerned, I had French tips and I requested glitter ombré. I showed the nail technician what I was looking for and she achieved it to the best of her ability. The glitter they had at the nail salon wasn't exactly what I wanted, but it was good enough. I will however say I would not get this design or style again because I'm not really a fan of the small glitter and I was looking for more chunky pieces of glitter. I will post a photo of what I asked for and what the nail technician created. Service: I noticed a few women seated next to me both had short back massages while their nails dried, And this is a standard practice in most nail spas but I was not given a massage, likely because they were very busy. Pricing: I paid a little over $70 and I gave the nail technician a $10 tip. So $80 total. I got two nails extended (due to two acrylic nails that fell off) a fill in for the rest of my nails, the French tips and glitter. They charge you/add on extra fees for each nail service. Other salons I've been to will replace the broken nails without charge but every place is different. They literally charge you per nail here. The receipt said something along the lines of "replacement tip X2 for the two broken acrylic nails and X8 nails fill in. Lol Overall: I will definitely return because I really like the environment there and the fact that the woman speak English well. So it's nice to be able to communicate with them without worrying if they understand what you mean when you request certain styles or designs. All of the workers were very friendly and they seem to be very hard-working, gentle, and humble. That's not something I can say about most nail salons generally speaking when I go. Even though the glitter design they put on my nails wasn't exactly what I wanted, they still looked nice and next time I will definitely get a different design. read more

I've been here a few times before deciding to write a review. The salon itself is very cute, like a charming living room. One particular thing that I like about this place is that when you walk in you aren't bombarded with "PICK A COLOR!!!" The first time I came it was my first mani/pedi after a long winter, and my first pedicure after I had gotten a foot fungus from a different salon so I was a little traumatized (I waited 2 years before I had the balls to do it again)- but I was pleased to find that this salon has little sanitized kits for each person! The technician I had this first visit was VERY thorough. The pedicure lasts about an 1hr. She spent at least 10 minutes just clipping my toenail cuticles, making sure that my toes were clean. She did a great job painting my toe nails, and they help you put on your shoes and help you walk to your manicure station. I got a clear glitter gel manicure just to test it out, and I was happy. I work as a waitress- and so on the third day one of my nails chipped just a little- but nothing crazy. The massages in between were wonderful. The second time I came, I had a different nail technician. This lady was not as thorough as the first, but good nonetheless. She removed the glitter gel polish I had, but she was a little rough. She used the file cube thingy and it abraded my cuticles and the skin around the nails. Then I had asked for 2 nail stickers as a design ($6 Extra I think?) and she seemed a little unsure of what she was doing. They didn't have a great selection of stickers, and the ones I ended up choosing she placed them on in a way with glue and the gel polish that they became 3D and bumpy & scratchy. I conveyed my disappointment to her but she said "that's how it's supposed to be" ok... I don't think so but everything else she did was fine so I just sucked it up. The gel manicure lasted me 2 weeks without chipping. The third time I came, the luck of the draw was that I got the same technician as the first time. Yay! She was just as thorough and wonderful as the first time. I found my girl! She did a wonderful job on both my Mani & Pedi. She was very gentle. She took her time removing the gel polish and I looked a bunch of times and she didn't hurt my nails or skin. I like how in this salon they ask if you want your nails filed or clipped, the shape etc. I like that she was able to recommend styles for that work well on ME. Long story short, this salon is pricier than most in the area. There are 3 salons across the street that are way cheaper. But for the price you get a foot, hand and shoulder massage. You get a nice scrub. They lather you up with some soothing essential oils. They don't harass you the second you walk in the door. It's nice and quiet - and doesn't smell like a nail polish remover. The technicians take their time & pamper you. They don't try to turn you over like cattle. They help you put on your shoes. They are sanitary. It's something I look forward to on my days off. I will gladly come here over the other places in the neighborhood. read more

UPDATE: I called and they made an appointment for me to fix it. :) So I had been going here for a while and then left for two years. Before I loved the manicures that I came out with! I just came back after two years away and I got my typical gel manicure that normally lasts me 3-4 weeks. I got it on Tuesday night and it started peeling Friday and it's Saturday and half of it has already peeled off. Umm what? How did I pay almost $40 bucks for my GEL manicure to last less than a week?? I'm not happy whatsoever. As a customer that goes here to "treat yo self" and pay a little extra for a great manicure, I wish I had gone to my old cheap hole in the wall spot that charges 22, no frills...but I know my gel mani will last a month. This was my first visit, and I went out of convenience using classpass. 2 stars for cleanliness and ambience, but I got my manicure on Thursday, and it's Tuesday and I need a soak off. I went with gel this past visit and it's been less than a week, and the gel is yellowing. I'm not a smoker and I don't use any weird products or lotions, so unfortunately I think it's just an inferior gel that they're using. I'm frustrated because it looks gross and now I'll have to pay to have it soaked off, when a typical gel manicure should last at least 2-3 weeks. I have been coming here for a few months now. I wanted to wait a bit before I reviewed it. It's next to my waxing place so that's how I found out about it. Usually I go during the week so there is never more than a 5min wait. Facilities are clean and spacious. The mani pedi prices are decent and they always do a good job and the paint lasts. I get the basic/ simple stuff painted on, so not sure about the gel or more complex jobs. read more
