Out of all of the threading salons I've been to in NYC, Queens Beauty Parlor on Manhattan Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is my favorite. It's reliable, quick, affordable, and friendly. I usually get my caterpillar brows threaded here along with the peach fuzz of my upper lip. I also do waxing on my sideburns to avoid looking like Dan Humphrey or Chuck from the TV series, Chuck Bartowski. I particularly like having Kristina - she's the best. Firm but gentle hands, I always come out feeling prettier - a dove flying out of the salon, when I came in feeling like Quasimodo/Helga Pataki. read more

I've been coming here for over 2 years now and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is so friendly, there is sometimes a wait for walk ins but never anything too bad, had a few different services, Brazilian, eyebrows, full legs and underarms and all are great. The Brazilian takes about 10 minutes it's fast, easy and they do a great job! It's always very clean, no double dipping the wax, usually it's Rekha who does them and she's amazing. She's super friendly and is very efficient, pays attention to details and gets every single hair every time, she gives me a mirror at the end to make sure and she's never missed anything! I specifically came out of my way to come to this location because it only had 5 start reviews on yelp and I want to find a consistent place to go to for an eyebrow wax. I'm giving 2 stars because the woman was nice but she firstly got the wax into some pieces of my hair somehow, which she didn't even acknowledge, even though I could see her trying to pull the dried wax out of my hair. So, I had dried wax in my hair all day. Then she burned both of my brow bones with the wax. It was very painful and the shop itself is overcrowded and not relaxing at all. If there is one thing I love; is consistency. This is what I get when I visit Queens Beauty Parlor. I love Farjana and her staff; they are true professionals. This is the place you go to when you want perfect eyebrows, silky legs, and a smooth Brazilian wax. No double dip! This location is the smallest one out of their three locations. Make sure to schedule an appointment if possible. Menuka is faster than a ninja and gives useful tips so that your skin is perfect for the wax before and after. Aside from the great service; the prices are cheap. A pack of five Brazilians is $100, and five eyebrows threading $25: a steal. The place is tiny as can be but it is spotless. Parking on Manhattan Ave is no biggie if you wait a few minutes for someone to pull out of a spot. The other two locations are in Astoria and Rego Park. Please tip well, ladies. I have been going to this place for years since it opened up back in 2017 or 2018, and I have recently been experiencing racism from this place by two new employees named Mena and Kumasi, I believe. I went here twice in the past two months, and they both did my eyebrows, and they are extremely racist. They look so bothered doing my eyebrows, and as a black customer who's been coming to this eyebrow, it's really a big turn-off. I notice they roll their eyes and talk sh** in their language as if they are disgusted that a black person is coming to the shop when I've been coming here for years. It's downright disgusting. I came in on April 4 of this year and got my eyebrows done by the employee Mena; I could feel the racism when she handed me the mirror to look at my eyebrows. She would rudely hand me the mirror, not evening facing me; she gave me a dirty, stale look when I paid right after. Then I came in this past Friday on, May 4, and got my eyebrows done by Kumasi, I believe their name was, and they did the same thing: dirty look don't even look pay attention to me as a customer, just handed me the mirror rough without looking at me even to see if it was handed. Her rude attitude and the customer were deplorable. Like she does not want to serve black people. My question is, why are you doing a customer service-based job then? It's not a job for you if you are racist; pick a new career. When I was about to pay, Mena and Kumasi both said something in the language, and they both gave me dirty looks. But I noticed they had no problem with white customers in the shop. When I paid, I made sure I didn't tip. Kumasi didn't even bother to look up when I paid just had her head down, and only looked up when she saw that I didn't tip. It was utterly disgusting behavior. After I paid, she wasn't even going to say bye or thanks for coming; she just had her head down. I could feel the racism. And that isn't very pleasant since I never experienced that for years. It rubbed me the wrong way to the point that I don't care to return and just want to find a new place since many new eyebrow places are opening up. I can definitely take my money elsewhere. What a way to lose a consistent customer. I'll definitely tell others not to come here. This business needs to do better in hiring because it definitely will keep people away, especially blacks. I'll be sure to write my review on Yelp and report this business of racism to get flagged online. I don't play that, given I have been going there for years. I will sure tell others to stay away; I'm not paying my money to experience racism in 2024; they really should've done better with hiring and overseeing how they treat customers of all kinds. I have a loyalty card that I don't even care if finishing because of their rude, racist behavior. I'm sure this company will not address this racist behavior, but I hope whoever ever reads, especially black people, definitely do not come here to this now racist business. read more

Review during Covid! Great service today at Queens Beauty Parlor! I came in for a Brazilian Wax after 5 months since the last one. The beauty technician was so nice and caring, always checking in with me to see how I was feeling. She was very detailed oriented, too! In the end I decided to get a full leg wax, too. Great job, now my legs are super smooth and feel amazing. It's so convenient, 60$ for a Full Brazilian and full legs! Will definitely come back next month. Ps. They're also great at safety measures during covid: customers must wear masks, and the employees always wear masks and gloves. And most importantly : No double dipping! Finally found my golden eyebrow lady MENUKA. This review is for her! I've been coming here ever since they opened last year after the consistency and services received here. I live a block away and used to go to Sika religiously until I started having mediocre eyebrows. Then I stumbled upon the grand opening promotions being passed out on the sidewalk and decided to take a chance. So glad that I did. Every single time my eyebrows are so finessed and beautiful. People always ask me where I get it done and presume it's some fancy overcharging place in the city. Not only the great work, the salon is brand new and in excellent condition. It's always clean and refreshing to visit and there is hardly a long wait time. Menuka is always there and she's a very sweet person, she takes her time and is so graceful. If you purchase the prepaid eyebrow cards you're only paying $4 per eyebrow and that's so hard to find. I'm on my 3rd loyalty card and will always continue to support this business. I stumbled upon this place the other day and wanted to give it a try because of all the amazing reviews. I got lash extensions which were supposed to be $35 but since it was my first time there, they gave me 20% off so it came out to like $30!! I came because of the excellent reviews but they massacred my eyebrows. I asked for them to be cleaned up and tinted but I wouldn't let them tint them after I saw what they did. I will let the before and after pics speak for themselves. The before was taken the day before I went to them. I have no makeup on in both pics. They change the shape of my brow and made them both shorter and thinner. When I said something about what they had done, they agreed that they screwed up and said, "well, it will grow back." I've gone to some other places that told me my eyebrows were terrible and I was messing them up (I'm not saying that's not true...) but here they actually took a hand mirror and showed me exactly where I want to clean up my brows between threading sessions so I can keep the shape. By far the best threading experience I've ever had! I've been threading for the past couple years but normally hate the maintenance due to my sensitivity to pain. Menuka greeted me at the front door while I was observing the new store front and invited me in and explained the available services. She was kind, gentle, and patient through the entire service. I was impressed by her evaluation of my eyebrows and explanation of how to rebalance my shape.
