I've been here a couple times and I usually like their pedicure services, so this time I decided to try the Aroma Spa pedicure for the first time. The mask left my legs feeling super silky and smooth, which I loved. The only downside was that the woman doing my pedicure was a little rough with the cuticle nippers. Honestly I gave this place a chance, despite the on and off service they have provided for others, but for me personally I'm never coming back. I got a $37 gel manicure. The lady I got in particular was too aggressive, I gave her a $6 tip but in all seriousness I should've given her a $2 tip just for wasting my time. I sat down and I had a previous gel manicure that needed to be soaked off. She put on the aluminum with the acetone and asked me what color I wanted. I was interested in a calm yellow but she didn't have the gel color I requested, that is to say a calm yellow she had all the "yellows" I did NOT want. I ended up choosing this pepto-bismol color and I was somewhat trying to like the color but overall it was my fault for not saying nothing. It took me 2 minutes to decide that I wanted to change the color from yellow to something else because they didn't have what I wanted before I realized I was talking to myself, maybe she thought I was one of "those customers" that was gonna be annoying and take long to figure out a color I wanted but I literally waited 5 mins before she came around, she came back and was putting her phone in her pocket. They're Ecuadorian and some of them have a attitude or something about them that feels like a different type of hospitality especially if you don't speak Spanish or maybe if you get the right one but I got the wrong one she was not enthusiastic enough for me. Maybe she was tired but regardless I'm paying for a service. I was not happy, honestly I was just desperate and I didn't want to go to flushing where I usually get my nails done because it's a hour away from me. I have tried this place more than once out of desperation and every time I have regretted it. Made a 530 appointment, showed up and they wouldn't honor it even when I showed them my confirmation email. There was someone else there waiting almost an hour past their appointment time. We both ended up waking out. At first I was just ignored until I kept interrupting them regarding my appointment and they were rude about it. Majority of techs don't speak English well so in past when I told them what I wanted they didn't understand and didn't follow. No shade I wish I spoke Spanish but it stinks to not get service requested. Once I kept telling the tech I needed my nails cut as they were way too long. She kept saying ok but didn't understand. When she was complete I complained and they wouldn't do anything. You should request the most experienced technician, as not everyone is proficient in filing or applying nail polish. I'm unsure how I ended up with such a thick coat that transformed my nails into something resembling grandma's. After growing my nails for eight weeks, I simply wanted a square look, yet they're uneven in length and far from being straight. I don't even know what I needed to say during the session to fix the issues at hand.. plus the store markets having 20% discount on Monday-Friday 10-4 and this discount doesn't even apply to your nail polish choice (i.e. when you pay 10$ extra for the chrome look) wish I knew about this detail before choosing an added service. read more

I've been here a few times, and I gotta say your experience will heavily depend on who does your nails. Yesterday, I went in around opening and got a regular pedicure + gel manicure. I've done this combo of services at this spot in the past, and typically they weren't spectacular but they weren't horrible as so many places in BK tend to lean if you aren't friends with someone at the salon. Yesterday, the woman doing my nails made four of my cuticles bleed after I told her not to use the cuticle clipper. It still stings when I wash my hands under warm or hot water, and I think yesterday will be my last trip to this particular salon. It's different when you tell someone not to do something because you know your body, and they ignore you/ think they know better than you. The only person who knows better than I do about my body is my eyebrow lady, and still, she is all about consent. I tipped her because I've been a service worker and don't believe in economically punishing people when a service was, in fact, rendered. Maybe this review is more, "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" vibes cause I thought I found a gem at this spot and then I walked out with a bloody and crooked French mani. Maria is the worst nail tech she gave me a whole different color on my feet and asked her why did she a different color she started pouting and sighing and took 6 min to get the correct color. As soon as I walked in I noticed the technicians seemed tense. I wasn't sure if that was normal for them. But then later I noticed them joyfully greet a customer. While I was getting my eyebrows done the woman kept turning my head violently. I asked her to "please not use so much force". She didn't respond. Then I said "miss you are hurting me, please do not turn my head so hard." At this point I'm raising my voice. She then said she was sorry and laughed it off. I had my dog with me and at a certain point her and another customer just kept staring at me and my dog and then just me. I've been going here for a few months and I have had nothing but great things to say. However last time I can in, my manicurist forgot to soak my nails (I was getting a regular manicure). I only noticed after she was painfully pulling, tugging and digging at my cuticles with her tool. When I asked the manicurist why she didn't soak my nails, she told me the salon doesn't do this anymore. I was very polite and figured maybe this was just a new COVID procedure. I needed to get my nails done before going on vacation and went to Yelp to find the nail salon with the best reviews near me --this was the one! I walked in without an appointment and the ladies working there were very accommodating. I only had to wait 20 - 30 mins even though they appeared to be very busy for a weekday. I would definitely recommend making an appointment if you decide to go here as I feel like I got lucky they were able to take me as a walk in. I asked for color gel French nails and showed my nail technician a representative picture to guide here. She was able to replicate the picture almost exactly and even helped me pick out a new color for the tip when the first color I picked was too light to show up. My only complaint with this salon is that the gel seemed to peel/chip fairly early (after 1.5 weeks). I usually get powder to avoid this issue so I'm willing to give them another shot with a powder manicure and hopefully that will last longer. Prices were also fair for the area. I will definitely try this salon out again; however, just keep in mind the gel might not last super long. I'd recommend powder instead! read more

I came in on a whim this evening, just about an hour into dinner plans I'd made two doors down. Been meaning to try gel nails for ages now but just haven't had the time. They had a few customers in but one of their techs was free so she was able to accommodate me right away. She said it would only take about half an hour or so, which was perfect for me. The interior is really nice. Lots of light, light colored walls and floors. Very spacious/not cramped and clean. The tools were clean. The lady doing my nails asked all the right questions and wasn't super chatty - which was what I honestly prefer anyway. She was gentle but not as mindful about the minor cuts I had on my cuticle (my cuticles are pretty sensitive and always have a cut somewhere at all times lol) and would just rub alcohol over it which burned a little. The warm hand washing/warm towel process was a lot more rushed than other salons who usually take their time and ask you to soak your nails, but I didn't really care. The hang massage at the end was a nice touch! Good pressure. She did a nice job and I'm glad I came in last-minute. There were some tiny uneven spots on my nails which definitely could've been better for $35 but I'm probably just hyper focusing on it. Overall a no frills spot for a gel manicure. They sometimes have specials, too. I'd come back for nails especially because I live really close but also bc they wax eyebrows and I've been meaning to find a go-to spot that still does that. read more

Came in for my 10am Saturday appointment for a gel mani and pedicure. Was greeted quickly and Sophia asked me to pick a color then had me sit in the back. The pedicure was very good! Initially I bummed that they didn't have massage chairs like typical nail salons, but I was happy with what I got. She really took her time and gave me a nice leg massage. I accidentally picked a color that was more pricey (additional $3) and she politely reminded me before she started that it would cost more. I asked her to pick another color close to it and she did. I thought it was really nice of her. The manicure was good. I was overall happy with my experience. Will come back. Decided to check out a new salon and I wasn't impressed but it got the job done. The salon was clean and the ladies were very friendly. More expensive than most salons. The nail tech took a long time on my nails and the outcome was exactly what I wanted. Recently moved to the area and was in need of a gel mani/regular pedicure. I decided to stop by here since it was fairly close and it looked nice and clean. I called ahead of time to see if they'd accept walk-ins in the next 15 mins, they said they were completely free and not busy. So I walk over and I ended up waiting 30-40 minutes. I didn't see any prices around but I figured a regular mani/pedi is the average of $40 or so, and if I wanted a gel mani, maybe they'd add an additional $10 or so. In the end, I paid $71 (not including tip) for a gel manicure, regular pedicure, and they charged me an extra $3 for a specific nail color that wasn't even anything special. $30 for a basic pedicure. $35 for a gel manicure. $3 for nail polish color. + tax. + tip not included. I don't think I'll be going back unless they offer mani pedi combo prices. Not to mention the gel manicure didn't last long as it started to peel away by the cuticles, and my cuticles weren't completely pushed down or cut correctly as they poked up like thorns after a day or two. The salon is clean and pleasant to be in; my tech was very attentive in terms of shaping my nails. However, my pedicure didn't last a week. Further, I noticed a spot on my foot that had been missed that I had to pumice myself the next day. When she was cutting my cuticles, she was pretty harsh, and a few times it felt like she was cutting too close and it hurt. Further, while I was sitting, some of the nail techs were conversing in Spanish -- I don't think they realized I'm fluent. Normally, I'll let people know when I can understand them, but as it happened they were talking about how ugly a client's nails were. I realize that this is probably something that happens now and then, but it kind of negated the pleasant vibe created by the decor. Covid safety measures are definitely up to par. Outside of that, I love that they take their time to do your service and you get to enjoy the experience.
