It was super relaxing and my tech did a great job. I was even surprised I got a neck/shoulder massage while my old gel was soaking off. Loved that they didnt use any machine to force the gel off and not feeling rushed whatsoever. My tech took her time and did a few check ins to make sure I was good. Cheap place. You get what you pay for at this place. I got my nails done here two days ago. I did a gel manicure and My shape was supposed to be square. She didn't understand what I meant when I told her to paint the sides of my nails. She also left pieces of lint under the gel after applying the clear top coat that I noticed after it dried. She filed it down and just added more gel not making it an even coat or adding a top coat to where she filed off. She added three layers of gel color. As you can notice there are also many air bubbles and after two days the color is started to turn. You can see it starting at the top of the nails it looks more red and as if it's spreading. Would not recommend. There are definitely better cheap places. I just really needed to get my nails done and was on a time limit. read more

I got a simple manicure done at Mt. Everest Nails and it was perfect! I was in and out in good time and my nails have endured well in the great New York outdoors. I even ruined one of my nails on the way to the air dryers and the technician was quick to fix it and was very pleasant. This place is great for the price, exactly what I want when I'm looking to get my nails done in Ridgewood. Only negative was the strong fumes inside but they did open the door to rectify that as much as possible. Added plus is that that they accept card and are perfectly priced! read more

I got a gel manicure here YESTERDAY and by today the gel polish on 5 of my 10 fingers has completely peeled off. Never again. I'm on my way back there now to try to get it fixed and may update my review later, but to be honest, I don't really want them to try to "fix" it, I just want my money back. Never in my life have I had such a terrible gel mani... UPDATE: Another woman in the shop fixed it, but not before first pressuring me to name who had done the bad job to begin with...I skirted the question, since it was pretty awkward...I'm a customer, not here to rat anyone out. Not my business, just fix the job. One of the other women working knew immediately who had done it, not sure if she remembered me from the day before or if there's a reputation of the original nail tech? Either way, the repair job has held up, and I really appreciate their willingness to redo it, no questions asked. Still would not recommend or go back since the whole debacle was such a waste of my time and there's NO excuse for how bad a job it originally was. SECOND UPDATE: after one week, most of them are peeling and it looks awful. Not up to par for what a gel many should look like at this point. I give up. Taking it off. This spot is SO GOOD I wanted to keep it a secret for myself but I HAVE to share it with my fellow Yelpians! My best friend brought me here today for the first time (and he's a guy!) so I didn't know what to expect from a guy recommending me a nail spot haha. They are EXQUISITE. It wasn't too busy so I was surprised with how fast and diligently the staff works. I had one lady doing my pedi while another was standing up doing my mani!! We of course finished my gel mani at the table with the UV light- so much attention to detail, and the calming back massage- I honestly felt special. My nail lady helped me pick out a beautiful color that turned out even prettier after we finished. NOW, I trust very few people with my eyebrows. Sometimes I don't even trust myself. But seeing how gorgeous my nails came out, I decided to get my eyebrows threaded as well- another WIN for this place! I will return and spread the word around because this place deserves to be seen! I live off the L train line yet I am still not familiar with some of the stops so today I went exploring. I got off at Myrtle-Wyckoff ave and wandered around looking for a nail salon for about 10 minutes until I came across this spot. It is a no-frills place on a side street, but as a native to BK it is nothing I am not already used to. Anyway, the place was empty which made me skeptical at first but I was greeted by Cathy who was super warm to me so I couldn't resist. We talked about our life stories, laughed, and she was extremely precise with my nails. I requested short acrylic tips; it came out perfecto! We also watched tv while we chatted which made the experience pretty personable. My total was $25 which is pretty decent although I can find a salon in Flatbush for $18 - $20. Pros- staff was super friendly. Prices super low, I paid $19 for regular mani pedi. Cons- I don't think they properly wash there equipment in between clients. Just a quick rinse under the water and back in the bucket it goes. I wanted to give 2.5 stars but that's not an option. Maybe it was the nail tech that did my nail but I was not happy with the finished mani. Pedicure came out nice. I feel like the nail tech got sloppy towards the end. I pointed out a few mistakes which ended up still being there as she rushed to fix them. While I still recommend it because they're the only spot in the neighborhood (that I know of) that sanitizes their instruments, the service isn't what it used to be. The last time I was there for an underarm wax, they did such a poor job that I had to go to another place a couple of days later to fix it. It was a total waste of money. I've gone to a lot of places and I'll never go anywhere else again (unless it's absolutely necessary). These women are kind, generous, and have a standard for quality that I haven't seen at this price point. Gel is $21. No upcharges or upwelling. It comes with a complimentary massage for a few minutes (I always just up it to 10 min cuz it's worth it) and they take their time and make sure you get what you want. A good basic nail salon, but don't even bother to ask for designs or new techniques like "ombre", because they will claim they can't do it. Their selection of gel color and SNS colors are not expansive either. They've also started nickle and diming customers over simple things like switching to regular polish after having gel, and so on.
