Do not go here. I spent over 2+ hours for a basic single-color manicure and left with nothing done. The technician couldn't apply the polish evenly - even after 3 to 4 coats - and then blamed it on the condition of my nails (which I've never had issues with at other salons). She also pressured me to choose a different color I didn't want. In the end, I had to remove everything and go elsewhere to get my nails done properly. Update: I have been here twice now and I still stand by my review below. However I have changed my rating because both times, the gel chipped exactly on the 6th day which isn't ideal for me. Just a heads up! -- I haven't stepped foot into a salon that does nail art in a year. I booked a photoshoot that required me to get very intricate nail art, and they gave me a budget that was pretty much impossible if you didn't know where to look. Most salons quoted me $140-170 for the design. I came across Sofi's Instagram and loved their work so I reached out and they were the only salon out of the 30 I called that had a reasonable price for nail art that was within the budget I had. Upon arrival, I was greeted with friendly faces and the studio was having a morning cleaning, so it smelled nice and citrusy. My appointment was at 10:30. My nail artist was Ada. At first, she seemed quite serious, but she quickly opened up as the appointment went on. Ada was very gentle and meticulous with everything. From removal of current gels to polish application to nail art. She also did the nail art SO fast, and only needed the reference picture for just 1 nail. Everything else she just did it free-hand and from memory. I have attached the reference picture and how it actually ended up. I was required to get short nails but with that design. Ada did a fantastic job adapting the design to shorter and ALL nails, seeing that only one finger was provided as a reference. My cuticles are also very clean, the studio is spotless and quiet, and have a lot of colour options for gel. They do get extremely busy, I've never seen so many nail artists in one salon all working on someone, so make sure you book in advance. The reason why I haven't been to a salon for nail art is because a) the prices, b) it's a hit or miss sometimes if your artist isn't talented, c) salon work doesn't last as long compared to independent artists working out of their home studio/home calls. It was 30 and then 40 then 35 then 30 then 35... wack to change the price every time. also they are very rough with nails and don't soak off the gel they just sand it off w a nail file and some sort of chemical that makes the nail polish peel off and when left on too long starts to sting. i'd just be careful if your nails aren't strong. done going here. read more

I've been coming here for months and would 10/10 recommend! If you are someone who prefers long natural nails-- ask for Gel X without tips. When they first suggested I get that, I thought it sounded crazy, since I never heard of Gel X without extensions. Not sure if it technically counts as gel x, but whatever they do-- it works and they last a full month without any peeling, chipping or breakage. I've always bounced back and forth between extensions and having long dip nails, but as someone who has naturally curved nails, dip looks extremely thick and artificial. I deviated from my usual nail salon to try Sofi's because I have heard great things and I really wanted to love it because the staff was so great. I got a gel manicure and my nails were filed SO thin to the point where it is painful to the touch. I have never experienced this before at any other nail salon and my nails have never been this thin. I have had my nails filed down at other salons before a gel manicure but never to the extreme. I am appalled at how I was treated today. I have never been here before but wanted a fun nail design so figured I'd try it. Plus I knew sofi from the old salon she worked at. I was expressing to the nail tech how I wanted her to shape my nails when sofi the owner of the salon attacks me yelling saying "she's not done yet! you can tell her if u want something different after you wash your hands (as in after she's done shaping)!"In front of the entire full salon. I responded by saying this isn't my fist time having an acrylic set and as the customer I should be able to express to my nail tech (who wasn't even Sofi) what i want. I was completely embarrassed for her to yell at me just for trying to tell the technician what I like. I will never come back to be treated so rudely. She completely robbed me of a relaxing experience as I had to sit there for the remainder of the time completely embarrassed to be scolded like a little child. I decided to give Sofi's a try in my pursuit of finding a reliable salon for a manicure. I called the day prior and was able to easily set up an appointment. It was a Wednesday and the salon was fairly crowded. I already had SNS nails on that I needed to remove, so that process took a long time. The woman removing my nails didn't really seem sure of what to do. Ultimately my nails were wrapped in foil and I was ushered to one of the pedicure chairs to wait. The woman working with me then worked through an entire other person while I was waiting. I understand that the process to remove SNS nails takes a long time, but I waited significantly longer than what was necessary because I had to wait until my technician was done doing someone else's nails. It was nice to be in the massage chair though and Sofi was really kind and acknowledged that I had to wait in the end. As far as my nails itself - I was told that I couldn't get chrome nails with SNS so I opted to try for gel. Once again, my technician didn't seem super knowledgeable on how to apply chrome nails. She was persistent and detail oriented though, which I appreciated. It's now a little over a week later and I've experienced some of the chrome chipping which is a bummer. Prices are fairly reasonable in comparison to the area. It is a very crowded salon and expect to allot at least two hours even if you make an appointment. I'd consider returning but only booking with Sofi next time. FYI - you can pay in card for the service and the tip, which is nice! read more

I can't say enough how much I love this nail salon. People ask me all the time where I got my nails done- I've gotten stopped by strangers even. the work they do is so so so good, and they are FAST. I went to Sofi's to get nails for a special occasion. Her shop is pretty popular so do call ahead and expect a wait even with an appointment. Overall the quality of nails that I received was great. I am very happy with my nails I have gone in for gel X mani and normal pedicure and then gone back for a fill on the gel X mani. This was my first time getting extensions so it was a learning experience for me. I wish there was a little more price transparency and description of the differences in services as I was new to this I didn't know the difference between gel x and acrylic and it wasn't really explained I had to google. All prices you have to ask for what things cost before. I paid $75 plus tip for the original gel x set with holo tips and $65 plus tip for my fill with French tips and one missing gel x nail I was told a fill with one color would be $50 and if I wanted a more elaborate design it would be $75. The pedi was $30 and fairly standard. My first set lasted 3 weeks and I believe it would have lasted longer had I not actually hit a door with the nail on accident. The nails were smooth and the designs had extra care taken. Just be sure to ask questions to ensure that you understand everything. read more
