Learned of this salon through groupon or living social and was very pleased. Although, to be fair I visited this salon during a weekday before 5PM so it was not busy at all and very clean. The pedicure itself is a a real treat because the massage is not the quick pat down that you get in the cheaper salons and person who worked on me was very meticulous. Afterwards, I was moved to the nail bar which was filled with every nail color and nail polish brand that you can imagine. I chose to get a gel manicure which lasted very well and looked beautiful until I removed the color. I have had gel manicures from other places but never got as many compliments as I did this time. The price is a little more costly than i am used to but i would definitely return based on the quality of work that I recieved. read more

Walked in for a pedicure at 7:30. I asked if they could take me because I could come back if not. They did and the girl who did it very clearly rushed as she seemed to want to go home (made apparent by the fact that, right after she sat me down to have my toes dry, she went to get her things and rushed out the door. I understand that they close at 8:00 (she sat me down at about 7:55 so it took her about 20 mins to do my pedicure), but for such a poorly done job, they could've said they didn't have time. She didn't spend any time smoothing out my feet and the stone massage was basically a quick touch of my legs. Disappointed. Won't be back. I still tipped 20% because she and the girl at the front desk were friendly but I suggest you find a different place. read more

Really good experience with Primp and Polish. I wanted foil work done and had bookmarked a design I found on Instagram. Despite being late, the hostess still allowed me to hold my appointment which I appreciated. Yang was great to work with, and helped me tweak the design to my liking. She replicated it perfectly and I'm very pleased with the quality of the work. I'm going on week 2 and it still looks just like when I got it, which is always nice but especially since the design work is pricier. Would recommend 100%. read more

I used to love and swear by Primp & Polish and recommend it to everyone but I don't know what has happened the last two times I have been here. This most recent time I came in with my natural nails grown out to a medium length and said I wanted them cut just a little and shaped round and she cut my nails all the way down to the skin without even checking to see what length I wanted. She also didn't want to help me choose a color (I know they have a book but usually they help me achieve the look I want because they know the range of colors they have and what they are and are not able to do, I just wanted a sheer lilac and would've also been totally ok if she said that it wasn't possible to get that color but at least help me, don't be rude and brush me off). Also last time I came here they were just sloppy I mean with nail polish not even on my nail but over the skin (which makes your gel nails lift so fast). Also this might seem trivial but they used to offer complimentary wine or tea here and I wasn't offered that today. I'm so sad I have to find a new nail place, so unfortunate. read more

I love this place! I used to go to a slightly cheaper spot in my neighborhood and P&P for more of a splurge, but since COVID hit I'm really only comfortable at Primp & Polish. They're very diligent about their safety protocols and enforce their policies (with kindness). It's also a serene and relaxing environment, whereas were I used to go had frequent, excessively loud chatter (employees & customers). The ask that ppl refrain from talking at length on their phones which I appreciate bc it is supposed to be a spa environment. I don't have a dedicated technician that I always see bc I honestly think they're all wonderful. Certainly worth the little bit of extra money for the lovely experience & peace of mind. read more

Had a great first experience. Loveliest receptionist, and fantastic technician called Abby, who's very talented and sweet as can be. My nails look fab! read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. I recently moved to Williamsburg and was searching for a good nail salon. FOUND IT!! Super friendly staff and VERY clean. My gel manicure lasts about a month! So the price is definitely worth it. I make cakes so I'm always in the kitchen and washing dishes. *Yang is the best !! My mother and I ALWAYS go to her. read more

Such great service all around. Last 2 times I've come here have been my best gel manicures. Will only come here from now on! Expensive but worth it read more

I had a nice experience here. I walked in without an appointment in the afternoon and was seen right away. It's a nicer experience than the cheap Chinatown salons but not quite as luxurious as the spas. The price reflects this. $18 for a regular manicure, not a bad price for the experience. It's very clean and fresh inside. You sit at a high top bar while you get your nails done and they will give you water or tea if you'd like. They add a hand scrub into their treatment which is a great touch that I don't experience in many salons. The area for nail drying is a great big couch so I liked the comfort of that. This is a place where you know what you'll get no matter was technician you receive. I would come back again for that consistency. read more

I usually do Gel mani but since my nail get little thinner I was tryin to do class mani this time. So I've been here 3-4 times and each time when I go, I feel they don't really greeting customers. Maybe I'm not there REGULAR. This time, (which was 2days ago) technician was pretty sweet but her job was so bad. I did honey and milk spa pedi and classic mani. Paid 70 with 10 off discount. Not sure this is what I was looking for. People think that I applied extra layer on top of what I had! Which the Technician did!! Horrible... read more

Ask for COCO! She does a great job and is super friendly. There are a few locations but this one is always super friendly. I get gel manicures for $40+ tip and they stay on longer than any of other salons that I've been to. Stop in and treat yourself! read more

This salon is relaxing and clean. I was a walk-in and they fit me right in courteously. I received a really soothing pedicure complimented by lavender essential oil, hot stone and a lime scrub. They even gave me two cups of chamomile tea! I felt so relaxed after my appointment here. It's a bit on the pricier side (I paid $55 for a pedicure, gel removal and manicure, no polish) but I think it's worth it for a calm environment. read more

I initially really liked this place because it was well kept and clean. But after getting gel done here twice and it chipping after a week, I knew something was up. I asked them why it wasn't staying and they tried to tell me there was something wrong with my nails? I quickly learned after going to Vanity Projects (and spending LESS than what they were charging me here) that it wasn't the case. My gel is still on after 3 weeks with no chips or damage. I don't know what's going on here, but their gel quality is terrible. read more

Came in and got a pedicure, reason I don't know why, I guess because i could. the receptionist was nice and accommodating. She was able to get me set up and taken care of. I got what i guess is the classic one and it included a slight massage of my leg with a warm cream. May return again if i am in the area. read more

Love this spot. Nice ambiance, sweet and experienced staff. Great prices also. Especially for Williamsburg. Great at waxing. Go.

Love the salon, the customer service is ok. Receptionist is friendly but some of the nail techs aren't as friendly. I have mixed reviews on these salons. Sometimes my gel nails last sometimes they don't. When they last they're beautiful and I am satisfied with the nail art or polish. But when they don't it can be a pain to get an appointment in time to fix them. read more

Ping Yang gave me one of the best manicures I've ever had. I got gels with some simple nail art and her attention to detail was amazing the whole time. My only note would be that the girl at the front desk said art on all nails would be around $10, and it ended up being $20. To be fair, I should have clarified when I specified my design. Overall a good experience and I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in New York! read more

Primp & Polish - Nail Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

I loved how fast I was in and out and what a great job Rachhu did with my mani pedi. I really liked how clean everything looked, with the tools coming out of a sanitized bag and how all of the scrubs and lotions were behind the counter and out of sight instead of cluttering the counter space. The sugar scrub and lotion smelled so good I even bought some to take with me! I also loved that when you get your pedicure, you sit on a massage chair. Also the nail polish selection was crazy! Not only the colors but they have regular, gel and vegan available. There were other options too and a number of brands to pick from. They also have really good coffee and tea available. This has been my favorite nail place I've ever been to! read more

Primp & Polish - Look! I did it yesterday. - Nail Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Over 400 colors to choose from??? I really could stop my review right here, but before I go, I must tell you that at least one Primp and Polish experience is a non-negotiable. I first came using a Living Social for a gel mani and pedi. At first I'm like, cool a gel mani and pedi for $16, I can't beat that with a bat. I checked out the website and saw the decor, I'm like, yeah, I'm in for a real treat. Made my appt, went on in, now I'm like, yeah, I'm gonna love this! First of all, I thought the 400 polish colors were just for regular mani's, but then the receptionist gave me a color wheel just for gel polish....what the blouse and skirt!! I started with the pedi, again, thinking I was getting the basic treatment, but the lady adorned my legs with warm clay and wrapped plastic, all the while showering my toes with fresh lemons and sticking my feet in yet another sea scrub and foot wash, complete with a hot stone massage and a 5 minute foot rub. NICE. My mani was just as good without the frills and the lady I had (Sofia) was thorough, polishing quickly and efficiently. I have gone once more since then and like Sarah W. said, not all the ladies are consistent. My mani did stay on for the full two weeks, but the color started to fade (2nd time, first time was totally awesome). That's not going to stop me from going back though. Monday-Wednesday before 4pm gel mani and pedi is $29. read more

What month are we in? January? Why--because as a nursing student, I tend to lose tracks of days, weeks, months, etc. due to my massive heap of work. My main source of respite is my weekly manicure, so when I heard about the gel manicures-a manicure that claims it can stand up to my constant hand washing and not chip for two weeks (I'm one of those unlucky people who has a love/hate relationship with nail polish-I love it, but it seems to hate me because I get chips within 3 days after my manicure!)-I was diligent about finding a salon that does them. Boy, Am I happy that I stumbled upon P&P. I came here without an appointment at about 630 on a Wednesday night and to my pleasant surprise, there was absolutely no wait. The inside is beautiful, clean, and bright. Also, as a bit of a nail polish hoarder, I look for a salon with a wide selection of colors, so I can honestly say this place has the most nail polish I've seen in any salon (literally a wall full) and they're all great brands-Essie, OPI, and even Chanel! For $22, the amount of attention and service you get is incredible...not to mention that this is dirt cheap compared to other places in the city-some other salons charge as much as 50 dollars! So, take some of all that extra money you saved by going to P&P as opposed to other places and tip your manicurist--they definitely deserve it! read more

Going on my fourth visit here soon, I think it's time for a review. I'm another one who was sucked in for the Living Social gel manicure/spa pedicure deal. Smart offer, because it got me in the door & now I'm sticking with it. They've got every kind of gel that you can think of-- Shellac, Gelish, Axxium & some other kind, too. They do Minx nails, regular polish & they seriously have every color polish (including Shatter) that you can imagine. I watched someone freehand a design on someone's big toe in 2 minutes & it came out lovely. The spa pedicure was weird. Some kind of Jello-like foot bath, but the moisture treatment for my legs worked really nicely. They use hot stones for your massage & that was a welcomed addition. The regular pedicure incorporates hot stone massage, hot towel & an exfoliating scrub, too. The gel manicures have lasted the full 2 weeks, so that's great! But, word to the wise-- 2 out of 3 manicures were *perfect* here, one not so much, because she didn't get the shape of the nails right. So, as with most places, DO wade through the nail techs & when you find one that you truly like, book with her again & again! That saves you future heart ache. It's a way more relaxing vibe than the tiny nail salons on Bedford. Pedi chairs are really good at massaging. I guess I kind of need that unwind nowadays & will continue to book here. The only thing I wished they'd do is the whole quick massage of the shoulders thing, but they don't & I guess I can't expect everything, so I won't nit pick, because I am happy with Primp & Polish! They do offer massage for a fee if you really need it. $25 minimum for Credit Card, or you'll have to use cash. read more

The place is great and the owner is nice but the staff seems under qualified. My polish was painted too thick and goopy... so of course it gatored, bubbled and chipped within 4 days... horrible. I went back to show them and although they were nice about it, they could have offered me a re-polish... they didn't. I might give it another try in a couple of months but for now I'll stick with Grand Relax Spa up the street. read more

I come every few months. This place is overall well managed, pleasant atmosphere and great for pedicures. also great for a quick shoulder massage. Less stars because of inconsistency. Some of the staff are very capable and some are not able to do even a passable job. (I always tip the person 20%, regardless of competence because I think this job of a manicurist is extremely hazardous given the constant exposure to toxic fumes and is a lot of caregiving work for someone elses body at ones own body's expense) I like it they have a high quality IQ air filter for the benefit of staff and clientele. ( I think that all nail salons should be required to operate air filters and have good ventilation systems!) They should also go a step further and start offering more toulene-free and formaldehyde free nail polish - like the line offered by their neighboring shop Skinny Skinny at the corner of Roebling. Overall, I like coming here and they keep my feet in good shape. read more

I've been here twice and while the first experience was good, the second left much to be desired. I called to book an appointment, specifying the type of manicure I wanted and letting them know I would need three tips (damn my fragile nails). I show up right on time and they say they're running late. Ok. I sit down at the spot and pick out my colors, but it starts to feel rushed. I was just looking for the same colors I did last time. Maybe they should have let me do this while I was waiting? I let the manicurist know that I want some simple nail art (pointed half moon shape), and that's when the trouble starts. The girl goes off to talk to the receptionist for a few minutes, who then comes over and tells me I should have told her I wanted this on the phone because now they'll have to cancel someone else's appointment because it will take over an hour. I've only booked online before, and there's no option to select nail art. Yet I've never been berated when my roommate and I booked online and showed up wanting nail art. Why would I get a plain one-color manicure that I could do myself? What exactly do they do for all of their online appointment bookers who want nail art? Do they all get the same lecture? I tell her if it's a problem I'll leave and go somewhere else, but the exact same manicure took an hour last time I got it done. I start to put on my coat, but somehow after one more lecture on how I should book my appointment next time, they're able to magically fit me into the appointment that I booked again. Like I thought, the manicure was finished in one hour and two minutes (I don't need cuticle cutting or hand massages - I just wanted color on my nails), even with the time spent to explain to me twice how I should have booked my appointment, but I felt stressed out the entire time because they made me feel like I was causing a problem when I specified the same types of details they ask when you book online. I'm also disappointed because two of my tips are too long, making it hard to type, and the art on two of my other nails is lopsided, but I wasn't given any time to give feedback since they were rushed. I really didn't have time to go back this week, but I guess now I'll have to. It wasn't a cheap manicure, and an experience that was supposed to be a treat ended up being a stressful disappointment where I felt like a burden for wanting a more expensive specialty service that they are known for. Next time, I'll do my nails at home. If you're going to rush through the service because your salon is running late, then be honest about your limitations and let me leave to go to another one of the four locations. Scolding me once I'm in the salon after showing up on time for my appointment is actually a pretty shitty way to treat a customer when you can clearly solve the problem and finish the manicure in an hour. I'm very disappointed in the extra time and money I'll now have to spend getting it fixed. On a positive note, the manicurist was very nice. read more

Michelle was awesome - my feet were in bad shape and she gave me a much needed pedicure after my new baby interrupted my pedicure schedule! I just got home from treating myself at Primp & Polish. It was AWESOME! I walk past Grand St almost everyday on my way home from work (love me some Snacky, Baci & occasionally Dokebi bbq) and the colors of their nail polishes caught my eye. I took a quick peek from the outside one night this week and I got so ecstatic to see a brand new nail lounge! I have been getting so bored of all the typical nail salons in the neighborhood. I went there today with my fiance. He had a pedicure with Sunny (sp?) while I had my hands and feet primped & polished by Young (she was great). Also, they are running a complimentary UV gel or Chanel polish upgrade as their grand opening special. I've always wanted to try the UV gel polish and see what the fad is all about. I'm so glad that I did it! My polish was dry in 2 minutes and I didn't have to wait at the drying station aka the part that I dislike most whenever/wherever I get my nails done! Not only that, the pedicure was top-notch: lemons, scrub, hot stones, lotion, massage (which I really enjoyed but I didn't get the name of the girl that did it), hot towel, you name it. The nail techs took their time and they were attentive & very detailed. I was even offered some chocolate by the owner. This place is clean & very relaxing. Loved it! This is my go-to nail spot, effective immediately. PS: It's the only place in the 'burg that offers Minx nails. Dopeness. read more

Very nice place , I was very pleased with the outcome. My nails already had acrylic on them when I came in and it didn't seem like something there use to dealing with. In the end it didn't matter. read more

Primp & Polish - This is the black moon . Nail design by Fang - Nail Salons Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Ummmm, let me start with the positive. The decor is super cute, the place was clean and the color selection is impressive. Now for the not so fun stuff...my technician sucked! Looks like my 3 year-old nephew painted my nails. I think she was blind as a bat, she had glasses on and was older but if you can't see I'm not sure what you're doing giving people manicures and pedicures all day. She also didn't soak my nails before my manicure which is bizarre. It was raining and humid out the day I went and it was about 80 degrees in the shop- they hadn't put the AC on! In sum...this is your typical assembly line, rush you out the door but with pretty decor. This place is pricey, you're definitely paying for the pretty ambiance. read more

This place is definitely adorable, I always feel welcome here, comfortable and they play much better music than the usual Lite FM you hear at every run of the mill salon. If only the manicurists paid as much attention to detail as the owners did to create a nice environment. I've had 2 manicures here, both with different women and both of them were pretty awful. First of all, my manicures were both approximately 20 minutes long. Don't get me wrong - I love a fast manicure but it was fast because they don't do a thorough job at all. They don't soak your fingers in water to cut cuticles here. Which is bizarre and probably not good for your skin. And my nails looked like they were painted by a drunk 4 year old. My nails were all different lengths and shape as well. And the second time I went there, there was a clipped nail just hanging out on the placemat from the previous manicure. The stations need to be cleaned in between customers, that was just gross and the manicurist never noticed!! Also - $13 for a crappy manicure. Totally overpriced. I get manicures in the city (GOOD manicures) for about $8-10 (and tip.) Sorry P&P, really wanted to love you guys! read more

It's a nice place, clean, lots of space, but I'm not paying for the decoration. Compared the job and staff here, I prefer Agua De La Vida, they are much friendly, careful and gentle. First off the place is very clean and organized. Soothing music and you can hear the water trickling in the background. The service is iffy and not very friendly, but now and then you will get a good nail technician. For some reason the person doing your nails never introduces themselves. You just get whoever is available at the time you arrive. Depending on who you get it can be an amazing experience or a horrible one. The first time I went the girl was very sweet and gave me an amazing massage (love her!). Third time the girl was really rough and in a rush to get it done. My (gel) nail polish had bumps in it. Have to live with that for 2 weeks! Not cool. But.... I go back because the location is convenient and it is really nice in there. Just need to work on their customer service. read more

Love this place. It's clean and they always do a good job. It's quiet and calm and I can really relax at this place. There are not people running around all over the place and it's not hectic. Def going back here. read more

This place is one of the better nail salons in WB. People can bitch about the ladies/receptionists at the front but you only interact with them when you walk in(can ask the nail tech to ring you out while you dry).
