The onion rings were terrible, breaded like a corn dog and so oily I could barely eat two. At about a 1.8 they were absolutely nothing I'd order again. The restaurant had a very relaxed atmosphere, and the overall vibe was great. Our waitress was super attentive, and all of the other staff members were friendly and welcoming. For food, I got the double smash burger, my girlfriend got the chicken pesto, and we shared the nachos as an appetizer. Everything was really good. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the chicken pesto, but that's just a matter of personal preference and definitely not a reflection of the food itself. The nachos were excellent, and we chose tri-tip as the protein, which was really good. The star of the show for me, though, was the burger. I've never had a smash burger with that much flavor. It was easily the best smash burger I've ever had, and I would 11/10 recommend it to anyone who comes here looking for a burger. My only complaint was the fries. They were a little overdone, with some being overly crunchy. They still had good flavor, but it seemed like they may have sat a little too long. The best one was the spicy Diablo shrimp. Also Tiramisu was great and tasted very authentic. To end it we got the 20 year Tawny and that was perfect. Ambience was okay but noise was too loud for us. Service was good. Vegetarian options were very limited as they have egg in all their breads and pasta and pizza dough. I posted this last week after we went to Primos on Saturday, August 29th to watch a college football game and have brunch. When I posted this it was displayed as a different persons identity. So, I have now corrected the identity issue and reposted it. However, since I have posted this last week a couple of things have transpired: 1) Some one I know has passed by Primos in the last few days and it looks a lot like they are trying to clean up the "gross" conditions of the tables throughout the restaurant and that is a potentially good thing. 2) Other Danville residents who have lived near the downtown area for more than 20 years have also concurred that the Primos they had previously experienced is basically gone. Service has declined and is not good, prices are high and not worth the service provided, management is indifferent to the needs of the customers. Not sure who the owners are but they are obviously not from Danville and do not understand what the local residents expect and what they have experienced from Primos in the past. They may not think that local residents are paying attention, but they are and many I have spoken with are not returning to Primos, because there are too many options to be that rigid in customer policies that drive them away. There is Pete's across the street and Norm's just a few hundred feet away and many others within walking distance, nobody needs what Primos has too offer. Not much. ______________________________________________________________________ So, below is my original post from last week ______________________________________________________________________ Moved to Danville in 1993, been to Primos in the pre covid version dozens of times. Tiny place, small parking lot, but decent food. Covid came and all of a sudden the whole parking lot became the Primo's patio with a ton of seats and tv's, etc. Expansion has not served it well, new ownership also has not served it well. The inside is remodeled and someone spent some money on that, but the quality of the management went the other direction. It is horrible. We have actually liked our couple of previous engagements there before the new ownership and had it ranked in the top 3 for breakfast/brunch until today. Being from Danville and now living in Walnut Creek we have been to many local establishments in the last 35 years, so this assessment is based on a valid comparison of other local eateries. Today we went to have breakfast/brunch and watch college football. We first encountered the outside seating tables with a coating of something that appeared to be last nights, or last weeks or maybe months of stickyness that you could not rest your arms or hands on the surface of where your food would be placed or where you might set your phone or glasses down. (Sort of gross and definitely managable, if anyone cared) Instead we had to layer over the top with napkins to be able to put down your hands. Next, I ordered "Huezos a la mexicana" and I asked to add chorizo. I specifically asked the server to put the chorizo directly into the scrambled eggs and she made a note on my order to specify that. The order arrived and the chorizo was on top and not included in the scrambled eggs which was not a big deal. However, it was served with corn tortillas on the side and I wanted flour instead. So, I asked the server for flour tortillas instead and she came back and told me that the cook said that was not possible. Of course at this time I know that they have flour tortillas, because others in our party ordered the breakfast burrito and it was in a flour tortilla. The server was very apologetic but said the cook who had recently been promoted could be very "stern". I could care less. I asked for the manager and this is where it all went wrong. She acted completely indifferent about the fact that I was requesting a flour tortilla, but needed to explain why she could NOT provide me with a flour tortilla. It was because they only have the LARGE ONES for the burritos and ONLY HAD ENOUGH to get through the brunch menu on Sunday, so they had no extra flour tortillas to give/sell to me for my breakfast TODAY. I am normally not at a loss for words, but all I could do at that point is bite my tongue at how silly that answer was. UNBELIEVEABLE. If that manager is the best Primos has to offer, than all I can say is good luck. I guarantee you that every single person I know will be advised that going to Primos is a bad idea. I am also aware that it will likely have no impact on the revenue, at least immediately, but the current management (or lack thereof) will ultimately result in the demise of the business revenue. There are a lot of choices of places to go eat and spend our money and Primos is not one of them going forward. All I asked for was 1 flour tortilla and I was willing to pay for it. The manager's answer was NO, THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE. Unfortunate, but true Thankfully there is YELP read more

I went to Primo's earlier today for dinner when I walked in into the outdoor patio part, there is a 60 something year-old guy Customer and he was saying bad things about my hat, and I was wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat and he was wearing a gray orange letter San Francisco Giants hat and he told me that they're gonna kick you out by wearing this hat and then he was giving me a ugly smile and that he put on his San Francisco Giants hat and that guy really hurt my feelings and then I got greeted by one of the workers and then they told me that a lot of the tables has been reserved and then he told me that you better sit indoors but I love sitting in the outdoor patio. It's a really nice patio to hang out to eat pizza and drink beer and to watch TV. But I chose not to go indoors so I've tried to find a seat in the outdoor outdoor patio part and then I dealt with a lot of kids running around while I'm trying to find a seat in the outdoor patio part and then I decided to leave primos with no pizza and no beer. I think the reason why the seats were reserved because of this whole World Cup thing. And once this whole World Cup thing ends, I will come back without my dodger hat because of this 60 something year-old guy saying bad things about my hat and I will be wearing a different team's hat because of him read more

Primo's is amazing. The service is incredible and it amazes me how the staff is able to navigate such large groups making sure everyone is taken care and served in a timely fashion! Not to mention the food and drinks are so yummy. The garlic cheesy bread and zucchini sticks are a favorite! But honestly everything is good. Love their cocktails too. Primos, it's front of house, back of house and management team are an absolute gift to Danville. Our family has celebrated birthdays and graduations there. Our kids' football, rugby, and baseball teams have celebrated wins and losses together there. They have held Celebrations of Life, hosted fund raisers for veterans, and offered a safe place for people to gather during Covid. Chris, the manager, is hard working and kind. Most importantly he is professional. A great leader for the Primo's staff to look up to. He is book smart, he is kind, he is a problem solver. He has always come through for our family in a pinch when we call to reserve a table last minute on a busy night. Primos has donated countless pizzas to fund raisers, participates in give back programs, sponsors sports teams and marathons. Drew, Chris, and Spencer treat their employees and community like they are family. If you haven't been here, go. If you haven't been in a while, stop by. read more

I am a huge pizza person and Primo's surely does it right! However, what enhanced this already great dining experience was the General Manager, Chris. He has done a fantastic job upgrading the whole dining experience here. From managing the efficient staff to ensuring the quality of food and services, his versatility was clearly visible. Chris makes sure each table is happy and content with their meals. The way he interacted with the guests, with genuine warmth and a professional flair, was evident of his deep-seated passion for hospitality. His commitment to cultivating a positive dining experience is what sets Primo's apart from its competitors. Additionally, his presence provided a personal touch, displaying the management's involvement and concern over the guests' satisfaction. In conclusion, Primo's is a great place to eat, relax, and enjoy watching your favorite sports teams. Applause to Chris and the other staff for doing an excellent job! read more

Is there not something to be said about the treatment of customers, employees, and your community? I've eaten here before and the food left something to be desired. Don't let the convenience of a busy corner in downtown Danville deter you from exploring other establishments. The owner is absolutely derelict in his treatment of the peop[le involved with the restaurant. Employees have been put under duress through harrassment and unsafe work environments. Indoor seating and when the weather is nice, you can sit at the patio. I've been here a few times with coworkers. The service is fine if you're inside and you go after work, however it's slow if you're outside. Not the quickest place to go for lunch and you need to get back in an hour. I tried their Eggplant Parmesan which was new on the specials menu. It's listed as "breaded and grilled" but it's fried so the eggplant is crispy. It had two slices of fresh mozzarella on top and I appreciate that it wasn't covered in sauce.

Terrible Service, Filthy Bathrooms, and Disappointing Food!…read more One of the worst pizza restaurant experiences we've ever had! We came for Sunday lunch with family and my daughter's soccer teammates, only to experience extremely slow service, rude staff, and disappointing food. The restaurant had over 8 TVs, mostly showing Indian programming. I politely asked if they could switch just ONE TV to an NFL game. Despite multiple requests, both the staff and manager rudely refused, showing absolutely no flexibility or customer service. To make matters worse, the bathrooms were absolutely filthy! Trash and used paper towels were scattered all over the floor, with overflowing garbage bins. Completely unacceptable and disgusting for a restaurant! See attached photo. Poor management, terrible service, dirty facilities, and mediocre food. We felt completely unwelcome. Definitely never coming back, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place!

On a positive note, the staff was very nice and attentive, and the vibe gave that small-town charm, which made the experience pleasant overall.
