Very fast delivery of appaglingly anful food: My "Sharp Italian" hoagie was soggy, warm, & BLAND. Adding salt & seasoning wasn't enough. I choked down half of it, then picked out the large helpings of meat, and they were tasteless. The small amount of cheese was equally bland. Half of the roll was soggy, & the veggies were limp & also soggy. Threw half of it -- $7.50 worth -- away. Chips were OK, but the rest was INEDIBLE. My wife's "Italian Tuna" was SWIMMING in mayo, also warm & soggy. She managed to eat half of it before giving up. Assuming that "Primo" meant "well above subpar" was my mistake! NEVER AGAIN!! WaWa hoagies are half as pricy, but MORE THAN twice as high quality: good quality meat, plenty of good cheese, fresh & crisp veggies, & dry rolls. If all you want is fast delivery, go for it. I came to the Methodist hospital visiting a friend. I'm usually only in Philly for the airport or Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse . Primos was a staff recommendation. My corned beef sandwich was literally 2' long!! Big is good. Taste was just right too! The Nonna Vegetable was great too. The bag of chips a perfect choice. The macaroni salad was fantastic. I appreciate the suggestions the guy answering the phone made. All spot on!! I gave my delivery guy $5 extra asking is everything I need in the bag. His answer "yes". I was disappointed when I got back to the room and there were no napkins nor spoon/fork for the salad. Still.... The food was great. read more

Went to Primo located in Langhorne, PA. Had been told their hoagies were the very best. Ordered a mild Italian melt sandwich & old work style meatball sandwich. Took them home to eat. They were both terrible. The Italian melt had little or no meat, mostly shredded lettuce. The meatball was 2 meat balls sliced in 2, and NO sauce or gravy in the sandwich. I love Primo Hoagies - it's a real treat. I go to whatever location is convenient near where my work and family timeline takes me. The Norristown location on Egypt Road is where yesterday took me. I was introducing the Primo hoagie experience to my 95 year old mom, and it was a late lunch / early dinner to wrap up a long, busy and very hot day. Unfortunately for me, my trip to the Norristown location turned out to be one of the worst customer service experiences ever. We were assisted by Shareese H. at the counter and I also noted she made our hoagies. She took our order and made our sandwiches. We ordered 2 simple hoagies, primo size, ham, swiss cheese and mayo for mom; and primo size Big T, tomato, onion, light oil and red wine vinegar for me (same hoagie every time.) The only special request was that the hoagies were cut in half and wrapped separately, so we could enjoy the 2nd half next day. We chose a small bag of chips, a macaroni salad, said please and thank you like always, paid our $34.74 bill in cash, declined the receipt, and left a $3 tip in the tip jar before sitting down to await the order. The order was made and ready efficiently and we set off driving the 15 minutes through rush hour traffic to enjoy our feast at home. On arriving home and plating our hoagies however, I noted my Big T was slathered in mayo. I cannot eat mayo. I called the location, Shareese answered, I kindly explained what I had, and she agreed to remake the sandwich. I reviewed that it was the Big T, tomoto, onion, light oil, red wine vinegar and she acknowledged (it was only 20 minutes later) saying that she had the ticket right there. I got in the car, drove 15 minutes through rush hour, returned the incorrect sandwich, she apologized, provided me a coupon for $3 off my next hoagie and then I proceeded home 15 minutes set to join my mom for dinner. Surprisingly, when I opened the sandwich, it was again, covered in mayo. I was beside myself. I thought about just throwing the sandwich out, but $34.74 is alot of money to invest in sandwiches. I called the location again and got a very nice gentleman, explained the situation, he told me the woman who made my sandwich had left, but that he would be happy to remake the sandwich and refund my money. I graciously accepted his offer and got back in the car again, this time my mom wanted to come along, and drove the 15 minutes back to Primos to once again try to get the right sandwich. I didn't think things could get worse, but they did. Shareese was at the register, no uniform this time, greeting me with a scowl, and pointed me to a pile of money on the counter, indicating there was my money back. A little shocked at her demeanor and indignance towards me (the customer, who ordered and received the wrong sandwich twice) I explained I had just called about the 2nd sandwich being made wrong twice, and that the gentleman I spoke to on the phone was going to remake the sandwich and refund my money...her response to that was that he shouldn't have done that without permission and that she was the manager and they weren't remaking my sandwich. She was told by her boss to do this. She then blamed me, saying I had ordered the sandwich with mayo. I asked her to see the receipt as I order the same hoagie every time. She told me she couldn't give me the receipt as it was deleted to already issuing the money back. Completely flabbergasted, I asked to speak to the boss. She declined. After 5 minutes of discussing this, all the while with 2 other customer service gentlemen looking on, one of whom actually offering to make the sandwich and pay for it with his own money to resolve the situation, while other customers came and went. I said I'm not leaving until I talk to the owner. Finally Shareese relented, and called the boss from her cell phone. I put the cell phone on speaker and explained the situation to Bilal Hubert, he listened empathetically said they'd remake the sandwich and refund my money. He went on to say he would talk to his people and that he hoped to retain my business. I reiterated that this experience was totally and completely unnecessary. I was polite. I was clear. I even left a tip. For whatever reason, Shareese made two mistakes and then decided to take it out on me and my mom this day. I explained to Bilal that a customer service representative like Shareese can kill a business and that she has a lot to learn about how to treat people. I also reiterated that there was a very nice man who took my call and was going to make a bad situation right. It's a shame that Shareese did not allow this to happen. I declined the additional sandwich and requested the entire ticket be refunded. Bilal agreed. Shareese generated the refund and off we went. I should have asked for my $3 tip back too. I was thankful that Bilal as the owner acknowledgd the service issue. So, no Primo's hoagie dinner for me, but I had lost my appetite anyway. read more

Went to Primos in Mount Laurel, New Jersey yesterday and ordered a primo turkey and it was 90% lettuce and tomatoes and not even an ounce of turkey. The employee turnover at this location is evident that are skimping on more then what goes in their hoagies. read more

Ok time for a major update! Staff- like family always STELLAR Very Clean Meats and cheeses FRESH Taste- Outstanding! As long as they are open we will continue to come and support. Some times I have to call back just to tell them how on point and delicious their food truly is and they deserve to hear it. I'm on a diet and lost 75 lbs but I make room for my Primos! I get a small and cut it in half again I eat that quarter with a small side salad and some water! and have the next quarter the following day (just gotta know how to wrap it overnight so it doesn't get soggy). Plain bread is especially tricky the seeded rolls resist the sogginess of the oil and vinegar better. So you can eat their hoagies and loose weight! Oh and I no longer put chips on it. You don't need it any ways! I hope this review doesn't get rid of my previous one! They supported 2 pregnancies every book and doctor said no lunch meat too risky. Well I'm here to say I was eating it every other week or more and I was 100% fine. Lunch meat is only risky from a place that is not reputable and clean. You just gotta love these guys. They truly care about what they produce. And no, I don't call after every hoagie like I want to I reserve those times for when they just make it impossible not to call. We are very disappointed! We have ordered from Primos for parties for years. We ordered today and there is no longer 4 layers of hoagies on the tray and the sandwiches are half the width that they always were before. But we paid more then other years!!!! When I called to say something about this, I was told everything is weighed out and that they bake their own bread! Yeah, that helped!!!!! Deluxe tray had 3 rows , instead of 4 rows and the mini tray has 2 rows instead of 3rows!!!!! There is no room to put pickles or peppers on these!!!!! read more

Well today I made the best choice, my Turkey Diablo was spicier, gerthier, juicer, over all wayyyyyyyyyyy better than the shore ones I ate this past summer. Don't miss out on this primos location! It pains me to write this negative review because I have had some very good experiences with Primos in Ewing. I have used this merchant to cater our manager meetings for the office. However, my last experience has left me with a bad feeling; a feeling of non-appreciation. We ordered some sandwiches after a long day at work; drove 20 mins. home and discovered that the order was incorrect. We contacted Primos and it was agreed that we would return the sandwiches the following day. Upon returning the sandwiches, Tim remade them correctly with little to no apology. No offer of a bag of chips or bottle of soda - nothing for our inconvenience. Merchants must understand this simple fact - I don't have to spend my hard earned money with you and your establishment. I have another meeting this month and was planning on using Primos. However, after this last experience, I don't believe they deserve my business or the business of my company. read more

This is the original location of Primo's Hoagies! When you come here you can expect that old school South Philly hospitality. It's a tiny, no frills take out only corner shop selling really tasty hoagies (not subs for those out of towners). I actually think this particular location is the best out of all that we've tasted. What makes Primos hoagies so delicious is the perfectly crispy, toasted original Primo's Brand rolls. It's all in the roll if you ask me. If you're not sure what to order, you can't go wrong with a classic Italian. Hubs go-to is the 'Chicken Diablo' and I prefer 'Nonna's Veggie'. It's absolutely incredible! Breaded eggplant, roasted red peppers and broccoli rabe with sharp provolone. They will leave it off if you're dairy-free and I feel even then, it doesn't miss a beat. The sammies are reasonably priced and ready fairly quickly although there's definitely a steady lunch crowd around noon or so. Heading here at a slightly off time is your best bet especially for a legal parking spot also! Don't you dare block the street! Knocking off a star for their hours. They close at 4pm or whenever they run out of rolls. I can definitely appreciate them wanting to keep the rolls fresh but there have been many a times when we wanted to grab and easy dinner from here and it was impossible. That inconvenience is a total bummer. We would probably order from here a lot more often if their hours were more conducive to our schedule. read more

Finally made it to the OG South Philly location and it was the exactly how you'd imagine it; quaint and totally S Philly'esque. I had the Tuna Diavlo, per Billy's recommendation. He also told me that my sammich is owner's favorite, so I was even more satisfied with my selection. Matic had the Corned Beef hoagie with all the fixins, cause that's his go-to. Now for the taste: AMAZING PER USUAL. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the bread, meats, and condiments super fresh, tasty, and generous. We are Def coming back. read more
