    BLT

In terms of a sandwich I'd get again, I might consider Nick's for a filet mignon. The famous filet mignon sandwiches are pretty good with the meat quality and size, but overall, not too special for the price. 10 bucks acn get you a pretty tasty hoagie/sandwich/roll in these parts. The BLT was small, not really flavorful, and led me on a journey to satisfy my BLT craving- it turns out, you can easily make one better at home. Would love to try the BBQ here though. Maybe another type of sandwich as well.

Not gonna lie this was a very good sandwich, but with all due respect I was a little bit too hype to try it. Granted the roll was amazing and spinach and cheese added a nice flavor, but it left something to be desired. I think the ratio of bread to meat may not have quite hit the spot for me, as well as the actual flavor of the meat. Somewhat of a charcoal cooked taste but it could have been a little bit more seasoned imo. That being said it was a tasty lunch and filled me up. Definitely would love to try something else from here another time..

Great example of very good pieces not working great together. We got Nick's special filet mignon sandwich. Very good filet mignon. I guess for the price of $10.25 it was an appropriate amount. Very good sarcone roll but the roll kind of dominated the sandwich. Cheese, my kingdom for more cheese. Very good news for Mike Rant Sr., Kristen from The Inquirer has taken your title as world's guest eater. She commented that this was a very good sandwich but not a cheesesteak. Good overall experience.

Filet Mignon Sandwich with extra Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and an order of Onion Rings on a round seeded Sarcone Roll.

The Culinary Adventures of Tom Coghlan, FB I have been ordering From Nick's Charcoal Pit since he opened up at 13th and Jackson Sts. in the 90's. I became friendly with Nick and was a great fan of his business! I ordered from him regularly. After some success, Nick moved to 1242 Snyder Ave. After some time, Nick sold his successful business and trained the new owners well. The new owners have been continuing his legacy to the tee, down to Nicks savory house made BBQ Sauce! I basically order two items regularly from Nicks. The first Item I order is The Filet Mignon Sandwich with extra Provolone Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and an order of Onion Rings on a round seeded Sarcone Roll. I put as many Onion Rings as I can comfortably fit onto the sandwich. The filets are trimmed well and cooked to perfection every time! The seeded Sarcone Round Roll is the coup de gras! SOOooo good! The second item I order are The Ribs! I believe Nick's cooks their ribs slowly in a marinate and grills them to order, rather that dry rubbing and smoking them for many hours. I like both methods and I Can't say I like one more than the other... I like to mix it up... The ribs are tender and juicy, and the meat falls off of the bone. The BBQ Sauce compliments then well!

Small hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop in South Philly

This hole-in-the-wall near Broad and Snyder in South Philly is famous for its filet mignon sandwich. This is another one of Philly's incredibly diverse sandwich offerings. I tried one on a Kaiser roll and found it tasty. I did not find it quite as delicious or as large as the filet mignon sandwich I raved about at a similarly named (but unrelated) place in Paoli, but still it's a sandwich hard not to like. You can eat-in or take-out but if you want to add to your sandwich, def order it to-go as there are minimal condiments on offer at this shop.

I stumbled upon this place during one of my lunchtime walks in South Philadelphia. The sign said they specialize in Filet Mignon sandwiches- I was sold. I tried the quintessential Nicks sandwich- "Nicks Special" Filet Mignon Char-broiled with Sauteed Spinach and Provolone Cheese. Yum!! The Filet was prepared well-done and was piled on the sandwich. The cheese was melted and stringy and the spinach had excellent flavor. The combo made for a very delicious sandwich. The sandwich comes alone, but you can also make it into a platter with fries and coleslaw. There is only 7 seats in the small dining area. I would suggest you get your order to-go. The people who work here were super friendly and welcoming. My food was ordered and I was rung up and out the door in 5 minutes. Very quick, great service! I will definitely be back again.

The food is healthy, but not in that bland, everything tastes the same way. Every dish has its own personality, and the flavors actually pop. You genuinely feel good eating here. The rice is cooked perfectly, everything is fresh, and you can tell there's real care behind the food. It doesn't feel like you're just grabbing a quick healthy meal. It feels like a completely different dimension of what "healthy" food can be. Both chicken options are incredible and my go to every time. The Jamaican dry rub chicken is on another level, and when you pair it with the Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes, it will take you straight to another galaxy. It's the kind of meal where you pause mid bite just to appreciate it. The sauces are a whole experience on their own. They're healthy, packed with flavor, and they let you try as many as you want, which just adds to the fun. Real Food Eatery is a sleeper and one of the best under the radar spots in the city. We ordered the lemon tahini chicken, which comes with your choice of rice or greens. You can also split the base, so we did half rice and half greens. The meal includes two sides, and we chose the carrots and broccoli, then added a third side of cauliflower. Depending on how hungry you are, the portion was big enough for both of us to share and still feel completely full. Everything was fresh and really flavorful. The lemon tahini chicken was especially delicious. It's not a fancy sit-down restaurant, but the food quality is excellent and the service was exceptional. Most importantly, it's great knowing there are places we can go where she can eat safely without worrying about gluten. We would definitely return without question.

The menu looks so interesting and everything sounds wonderful. I got the Colonial wrap. First, I hated the cranberry aoili. Fortunately, I only put it on half. I should have tasted it first. But, that was my fault, and I would not be writing this review because of one item. I would just use a different dressing from my refrigerator. What I disliked were the tiny cubes of processed turkey all the same size. Real turkey would be differing sizes. And then I kept feeling pebble like pieces. I was afraid if I bit into them, I would break a tooth. I finally realized they were the bacon. I like my bacon well done and crispy, but... . And this was the better part of my order. The gnocchi lasagna went into my refrigerator for dinner. But, I opened it first and it seemed greasy. When I took it out, the grease had congealed on top. I tried removing it, but that hardly helped. As far as the taste, I could have opened my mouth and poured down salt. There was plenty for two servings. I ate two forkfuls and the second was to see if it was really as bad as I thought. It was. It had so much promise. It brings me no joy to write this. But, I thought my opinion should be known since that is why people read these reviews. The chocolate chip cookie was good

The cauliflower is cooked so well... it has a nice bite to it without being a raw crunch. I've also tried all of the other seasonal plates over the summer and early fall. Sweetgreen always adds several new feature items to its array of options each season. We get to experience items like mozzarella balls, heirloom tomatoes, maple glazed brussel sprouts, jammy tomatoes, and more all for a reasonable price. The salads and bowls are all well thought out combinations, but I like to mix it up a little bit by adding my favorites and subtracting other items. The beautiful thing is the total transparency of the price right on the app. As you build your salad or bowl, your final price is updated continuously. The app is great! My favorite meat protein is the roasted chicken. It is done REALLY WELL. Like... they deserve a prize of some kind for the chicken... at least for the Sweetgreen on 18th and Chestnut. I'm not as fond of the salmon or the garlic steak, but your mileage may vary. You might really like them. Every veggie is always super fresh. And service is always with a smile. Whoever is hiring the current crew is doing a great job because the food is always prepared really well and the servers are always really nice. Thank you, Sweetgreen, for your continued excellence!

It's manageable but not cravable. It's an oddity on a menu that isn't tailored to my taste buds. So for that, its a win - not an amazing one but a serviceable one.

We appreciate how their Yeeroh Meats are actually shaved fresh and not some pre-packaged meat or something that isn't shaved, which kind of runs counter to the point. Their hummus is solid as well. The only thing to note is almost all of the veggie toppings aren't necessarily always prepared -- the tomatoes for example are straight up grape tomatoes they throw onto your bowl which could overpower the meal. Still would recommend them as a solid restaurant in the area.
