Very nice little bbq spot hidden on a small street. As you enter, there's a few picnic tables for seating and they have a drink cooler and shelf for utensils and such. Counter ordering and they'll bring out your food. It smells delicious as soon as you walk in, and the taste matches. Brisket was extraordinarily tender and melted apart. Just flawless texture and exactly what you want. The bbq sauce is amazing as well, very tempting to buy a bottle to take home. Sandwich was well put together. Mac and cheese was good, though the cornbread was a bit underwhelming. Overall very tasty stuff here, great quality to value. Guys that work here and the music also add to the chill vibe. Definitely will be back for more, thanks.

Lackluster ribs... I ordered a half a rack of ribs and was very disappointed. I found them to be bland and dry with the flavor profile of a grocery store rib rub. They were not very plump or juicy! To top it off the bbq sauce is savory which some may enjoy but I added mikes hot honey for some sort of depth and soy sauce! Glad I ate this at home so I could tweak it. I made my own Mac and cheese so I can't comment on theirs. It's a nice atmosphere and friendly employees but the food is a disappointment to me.

It was a hot day, so heaps of meat weren't what I thought I wanted. So yes, I went to a BBQ joint and ordered a salad. First: The salad, a kale caesar, was delicious and satisfying. I have no regrets. Second: the meat is also excellent, and it's the reason to come here. My table also had pork belly nuggets. I had a bite, and they were delicious--meaty, chewy, a little sweet and a little tangy. The brisket was possibly my favorite brisket ever. I had one bite with the tangy, vinegar-y sauce and vowed to come back another time to eat a LOT of it! My companion enjoyed the queso mac and cheese with cheetos. Just go. It's so, so delicious.

I am glad I made some time today to check out Zig Zag BBQ! It is hard to find good BBQ in general..but when I kept hearing about a new BBQ place in Fishtown it was on my list of places to visit! Zig Zag BBQ is next to Martha..on a tiny street! Parking may be difficult because it is a mixed zone area...residential living and businesses! Now..to the setup during COVID..Best to call ahead instead of walking up like we did..but they were accommodating and offered wonderful customer service! They sold out of ribs (will be back to give them a try) so we decided to get: Brisket (moist; tender and flavorful); Wings (tasty rub; crisp and juicy on inside) and a side of Potato Salad (I've had better..pretty bland)! Our drinks of Hibiscus Watermelon and Mango (Top Choice) we're light and refreshing! This is a LEGIT BBQ spot! While waiting for the food..tons of patrons were stopping by to pickup their orders..so they have a following for sure! Stick to the meats..No sides needed in my opinion..keep doing the thing you do well..BBQ! I'll be back!

I've been waiting for Zig Zag BBQ to open for months now, so was eager to put down an order 2 days before pickup as I was worried they would run out of food. For a party of 4, we shared 1 lb of brisket, 1 lb of pulled pork, a full rack of pork spare ribs, and sides of queso mac, potato salad, and esquites. The barbecued meats were nice and smoky. I definitely recommend the brisket and spare ribs. The sides exceeded my expectations. The queso mac and esquites had hints of lemongrass in it, which really elevated both side dishes. The potato salad ran out before I got to it, which must mean it was amazing as well. Price point wise, Zig Zag's is comparable to Mike's BBQ, except for the sides, which are on the smaller side and pricier.

Because we were a large party we shared a bunch of the family style trays which ended up being perfect. Meat highlights were the juicy brisket and flavorful pulled pork - on a Hawaiian roll this was absolute perfection. The best sides were the burnt end beans and the mac and cheese. The vibes are fun and lively and they have an extensive list of beer, wine and cocktail. The negroni was so smooth that I had to order a second. The food didn't come out all at once which was a little awkward since we were in a group. One person in our group ended up waiting 15 minutes longer than everyone else to get her food. The pulled pork sandwich was okay. Not the best I've ever had but decent. The Pigs in a Clover was a ton of food. Definitely could feed 4. The sides were better in my opinion than the meat itself. We loved the slaw, Mac, and potato salad. The half sour pickle was a little weird although I guess it did live up to its name. Tastes like a cucumber that isn't quite a pickle yet. The pulled pork was standard. The ribs were very smokey and charred but a little tough. Flavor of the meat was good just not standout. Overall I would come back here especially because the vibes are very cozy, inviting, family friendly, and warm.

We're never great at eating our money's worth, so the pay-as-you-go setup felt like a better fit. We got the favorite set for two, which ended up being plenty. The biggest highlight right away: they grill everything for you. KBBQ is just better when you can sit back and eat instead of managing the grill yourself. They also use a back grill to keep things moving, so there's barely any pause between rounds of meat. It felt really efficient. Also, the place is surprisingly clean and doesn't have that heavy "you're going to smell like smoke for the next 5 hours" vibe, which I really appreciated. Somehow they keep it all under control even with constant grilling. Service-wise, the staff were attentive and clearly working hard, especially since it seemed a bit understaffed. That said, my friend did feel a little uncomfortable at times. There were a few moments where it felt like we were being watched closely, almost like they were worried about a dine-and-dash situation, and we were asked multiple times if we had paid. I personally read it more as things being slightly disorganized with a small team juggling cooking, serving, and payments, but I can see how it might come across differently depending on how you interpret it. Food-wise, the meat was very good, but the banchan really stood out to me. The cabbage salad with a gingery soy dressing was super refreshing and cut through the richness of the meat perfectly. Free refills on banchan are always a win too. I also liked that the grill came with corn cheese, egg, and sprouts, nice extras you don't always get. The corn cheese wasn't as sweet as I expected, and the egg was a bit on the salty side, but still enjoyable. The tilted grill setup was another plus since it lets the grease drain away, so the meal didn't feel overly heavy like some AYCE spots. Overall, it was a really fun experience. A bit pricey, but worth it for the quality and how easy the whole meal felt. Just something to be aware of with the service dynamic depending on how sensitive you are to that kind of thing.

Everything from the vibe the minute you walk through their doors, the design and decor, the menu, the cocktails, the bar, the music, the food .... I could go on and on but this is absolutely one of the best dining experiences I've had in 2025! Our server was such a doll too! She was so friendly and patient as we weren't sure what we wanted to order since everything sounded amazing. She made recommendations for appetizers and entrees based on our likes and she knew exactly what she was talking about because the Asian Ginger wings were SLAMMING!!!! The wings were fried perfectly and seasoned to perfection ... naked bones were all that was left on the plate lol. And our entrees .... WOOOOWEEEE! Literally finger licking good! I intentionally didn't eat all of my pasta because I wanted to be able to have leftovers to eat the next day lol. The serving size also made that possible because it was generous, but we all know cooking pasta and lobster perfectly fine s tricky but they managed to do it! I also can't forget about the cocktails which we had a few of ... all oh so very creative and packing a nice punch (& the bartenders were all fun)! We sat at the bar after we finished dining because there was also a DJ by the name of DJ Shizz playing hit after hit after hit and entertaining the crowd which was like the cherry on top of the experience.
