The food and manager (Nadia) is great! Its BYOB and you can make boozy milkshakes. Or add a lil something to a drink from their soda machine. Nadia's single smash has Nadia's secret sauce, which I'm told was like a bigmac sauce. I think it tasted similar but was also thinking aioli. My hubby ordered a Juicy Philly with a turkey patty with a side of onion rings; I ordered a Turkey patty with Cusabi, avocado, smoked Gouda and P'unk sauce with a side of sweet potato fries. My burger was good but my hubby's burger was EXCELLENT (so were his onion rings - lol). We also ordered shakes - I had the BW (vanilla and Nutella) and my hubby had a strawberry shake (I think). I thoroughly enjoyed my shake; I did not taste his. The service was great! The young lady who waited on us was nice - she explained the menu well and checked on us while we dined. i've been here a couple times for lunch now, and my biggest takeaway is that i should be taking this food away instead of eating there because they are messy!! both times i've been were during the workweek on my lunch hour, and there was ample seating available, which is an amazing draw during the colder months. i have gotten their normal veggie burger, and while it tasted great, it falls trap to a common veggie burger issue: no structural integrity. the patty refused to stay together and was falling off with every bite. for the most recent restaurant week, i got their special impossible burger with fig jam. this tasted even better imo, and the impossible burger held up much better compared to the veggie, but she was STICKY!! this was 100% due to that jam so there's really nothing that could've been done, but i definitely looked silly trying to tame it. the restaurant week deal included a burger, a side (great, crispy sweet potato fries), and a shake (a fantastic captain crunch inspired one) for an awesome price, so i definitely see myself returning for a similar deal. i just know better now than to try and eat this in public lol read more

I don't understand how this place is still in business. The people are nice but my burger was so meh. A good burger is salty and juicy. This was neither. In fact, I'm pretty sure it wasn't seasoned at all. It was a bit dry and tasted like char. Their signature sauce is watery and a little sour like Worcestershire. It was whatever. The bun is large and not very soft which really made the dry tasteless burger worse. At $13, it costs more than a double at Shake Shack or 2 Big Macs, which are both better. Decided to give this place a try - wanted to get something new and read some decent reviews. I'm not sure which burgers those folks got, but the beef burger is tasteless and dry. I don't believe the food was seasoned at all. The bacon on the burger was raw (and I love undercooked bacon) - but that too was tasteless. Also got mozzarella sticks, which were drowning in oil with a cold cup of sauce. The first few sticks were ok, but the bottom few were soaked in oil, and were inedible. The young woman that worked the counter/register was very nice, and the staff overall seems quite pleasant. It's not really their fault what sort of food is produced. I assume it's relatively well known that the meat is dry and flavorless, hence the large number of things you can put on the burger itself. It's a cool idea, but the burger is not at all worth what the cost is. Based on quality of food, this place is a 5 star joint. You can tell that freshness is the most important thing, and with several vegan, veggie, and gluten free options, anyone can dine here. Dropped off one star because it is PRICEY! 8 dollars for a small milkshake? Though it was vegan, I don't think I could ever justify that purchase again. Saw P'unk Burger's deal for East Passyunk restaurant week, and it was such a great deal, we had to check it out! For $15, we got a side, choice of burger, and a shake - can't beat it! We were planning on picking up in person, but it was a dreary, rainy day, and when we realized they had $1 delivery, it was a done deal. We easily placed our order online, and luckily, they had their restaurant week special on the front page, so easy access. I opted for sweet potato fries as my side, the veggie burger with fig jam and apples as my main, and attempted to get their banana salted caramel vegan milkshake for my dessert. A few hours after placing our order, I got a call that they were out of bananas, so they could not prepare my shake as ordered. They did offer to make a salted caramel shake without the banana, which was nice! I was just surprised they didn't have this option given it was a feature on their restaurant week deal. The fries were great - lightly seasoned and crispy enough, although they did get a bit soggy on the delivery, but nothing that wouldn't happen with any other take out. There were a ton of fries, so enough to have a second day! The burger was pretty good, too - I could definitely tell it was non-meat burger, but the consistency was spot on and still very flavorful! I loved the fig jam and tart apple accompaniments, which made for a really nice, fresh flavor and made me feel less guilty for having a burger :) The brioche bun was a great vehicle for the sandwich and didn't overwhelm too much. My salted caramel shake was the highlight of the meal - I got mine made with soy milk, and you totally would have no idea. It was deliciously creamy and so filling, but I was so sad when it was over! My fiancee opted for the pickle chips as his side (great reviews on Yelp), which were pretty tasty - nicely crispy and salty! My fiancee attempted to get the Guatemalan chocolate and coffee shake, one of the options on the restaurant week deal, but they also called to say they were out of that shake. Again, super surprised they didn't actually have 2 of the 3 shakes they offered for restaurant week, but so it is. He was offered his choice of any other shake on the menu, so he settled for a s'mores shake, which he was a big fan of! He agreed, the shakes were the highlight of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed our restaurant week meal from P'unk Burger! While they wasn't the *best* burgers we've ever had, we appreciated the unique toppings, and it was a solid, filling meal for the price. Great little burger place with loads of options for people who have dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free). I had a turkey burger which was quite satisfying. You can basically build your own whichever way you want (beef, turkey, chicken, veggie, etc) and add whatever you want on it too so the options are endless. They also have gluten-free buns available. There's other food here (salads, appetizers, other entrees) for anyone not wanting a burger and although I didn't have any I'm sure it's all good. Overall highly recommend, the service is super friendly and it's in a really cute area of South Philly. It was delicious but quite decadent (way more toppings than needed... but not complaining about that). I had a more simple burger with vegan cheese and the signature sauce - while the burger was quality, I think without all of the fancy toppings, the burger ended up feeling a little boring/missing proper seasoning. The side of thin cut fries was massive - they were good, but I wish I would've ordered them with seasoning because they were kind of bland. With that said, the onion rings were amazing. When I first heard that the people behind Slice pizza where opening up a new burger joint at my beloved Passyunk Ave I was ready to try it out. Especially when I heard that it made milkshake using Little Baby's Ice Cream flavors, and had an old school arcade machine that featured Burger Time! And over all it delivered a satisfying experience. Since Chhaya did a good job of housing a jam packed brunch crowd in the space when they resided in it, it was kind off odd to see P'unk sacrifice some of that room for the sake of fitting in huge wooden picnic tables. Especially for the supersized one that multiple parties sit in. But the interesting communal dining setup made for a different experience that was tolerable thanks to the quick and accommodating staff. And if you don't dig it just be prepared to do take out or indulge upon a classic video game session. Its pretty awesome that you're able to choose between beef, chicken, turkey, ahi tuna, veggie burger, or portebello for your burger options. And you're able to choose between plenty of topping options that include Garlic Insanity or Black Peppercorn Bacon from 1732 Meats, 11 kinds of cheeses (including Daiya for the vegans), vegan & gluten free sauce options, and all kinds of veggies; making for nearly unlimited customization options. But the signature burgers are all reasonably priced; and hook up options that are inspired by breakfast, Cubano sandwiches, pizza, and more. and there's even a bad ass burger of the month option. the black peppercorn bacon, smoked gouda, onion ring, and signature sauce that topped off the P'unk Burger made for a savory and filling top burger contender. The sea salt thin cut Idaho fries were tasty, but next time I'm doing the combo that pairs them with their sweet potato fries. I went for their variation of the B & W with nutella ice cream instead of chocolate in favor of the more wacky Little Baby's varieties (with flavors that rotate weekly, and one made with espresso from Reanimator coffee). And Ultimately I should have taken a walk on the wild side instead.
