Chinese Peaceful Reunification?? And the amount charged is wrong.

Check your receipts! The chicken sandwich really was delicious--flavorful and moist. I had much difficulty communicating with the staff. But I will not return to C&W until I can get some clarification about this: My order with tax came to $8.85, and my card was charged $9.20 by "China's Peaceful Reunification," not "Chix & Wings." The charge later would post correctly as "Chix & Wings" for $9.20. (1) If there are additional charges for cards or card types, these need to be reflected on the receipt. (2) Where is the money going? What establishment is this, really? I am suspicious. Check your receipts!

Crispy Chicken Sandwich Single with Cheese with Onion Rings
Tricia T.

Ordered delivery tonight after walking by this place so many times and never stopping in, and I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the chicken sandwich with cheese and a side of onion rings as well as the crispy chicken bowl with chix rice and a side of mild creamy sauce. Yes, I, one person, ordered all that. I couldn't decide what I wanted. It's been a long week, okay?! The sandwich was delicious. The chicken was still pretty crispy even for delivery and the pickle, cheese, lettuce, and onion game added some class, texture, and flavor. I had ordered the onion rings because why not and those could have been crispier but they were still good. I dipped a few in the mild creamy sauce. The bowl was also pretty fantastic once I added that mild and creamy sauce in. I don't know what magic that sauce is made out of but I thought it was a great mix of heat and flavor. I'm not too sure about the partitioned takeout container because it made it difficult to mix it all together, but I got a couple solid bites of chicken, rice, vegetables, and sauce together before I fell into a food coma. I like the crisp on the chicken. The vegetables were more than just broccoli and carrots, which was fine by me. I love me some squash. Overall, not my favorite chicken bowl in the city (could use some more crunchy texture like some lettuce on the bottom maybe?) BUT still a solid contender. The sandwich was definitely my favorite and I would totally order that again with some of that saaaaauce. I'm interested to try their wings sometime too and maybe some other sauces. Solid chicken spot!

Soy Garlic Crispy Wings (sorry, messy after travel in the carry away box)

I had one of their rice bowls a while ago that did not leave me wanting to return. However, I had a few recent recommendations for their salads and wings that made me give them another try. I got the 6 piece soy garlic wings with fries. The fries were crispy and tasty. The flavor of the wings was very good, although they were not evenly sauced, so some parts were just dry. I also didn't want to continue eating them when I came upon a feather in one of the wings. I may go back to try the salads.

Chix & Wings is great! I've gotten the plain white meat a few times before and it kept me coming back, but today I tried the buttermilk white meat and it is delicious! The chicken comes in nice large pieces and it was dusted with some tasty powder(Im not sure if it was some kind of buttermilk powder or some seasoning blend but it was amazing!) I was confused about why there was an option for both plain and buttermilk since I thought they would be basically the same, but they are definitely different and I can't wait for the next time I pick up a 5 piece of Chix & Wings buttermilk white meat! The fries are nice and crispy and come in a little paper bag. There's not a lot included, but enough that I was full after 3 pieces of chicken and almost all of the fries. The to-go bag had a bunch of ketchup packets, some napkins and some plastic forks. There is also a self serve counter to grab all of these things, so I had more than enough after I grabbed everything without realizing it was already in the bag. There are signs on the window with covid guidelines, but while waiting for my food, someone else sat down pretty close to me in the waiting area and the employees didn't seem to care. The employees did have gloves, masks, and a plastic wall between them and the customers though, so they are taking some precautions. My mouth started watering just writing this review, so I'm going to go heat up my left overs now!

Jerk tiny wings

Wings were EXTRA SMALL AND the jerk seasoning was poured on instead of mixed. Not appetizing at all. Wasted my money

Excellent bowls and the wings are great too. The only Negative is their not-so-fresh veggies that come with the wings. If they are brown, they might be better off not including them with the meal. Will still come back. I hope they do a visual check in the future.

I ordered the double fried wing sweet chili style with onion rings to go. The wings were sloppy and not consistent. They lacked the crunch and even coating that bonchon has when you order the wings to go. The onion rings were also bland and tasted like onions rings out of a frozen package.

Grilled chicken salad with zesty cilantro dressing

During my year of school, I must have visited this spot a dozen times or more. I have tried their rice bowls, theirs salads and of course their double fried wings!! They have over ten different sauces for their wings... And their green cilantro based sauce is great as a salad dressings or for dipping fries. Honestly I use it on everything!! They are pretty economical and definitely give you a bang for your buck. Big portions of satisfying and savory food for your money. I have noticed you get more food when you eat in than take to go. Lastly the wings are indeed freshly made so expect to wait at least 15 minutes... Or call ahead for pick up.

Great food. Best wings in the area. Easy access from Jefferson Hospital!
Eric D.

Double fried wings are out of this world! Not a whole lot of seating so when its busy you'll be hard pressed to find a seat. Good selection of different foods and fountain drinks.

We ordered the crispy cheese curds (Wisconsin cheddar, smoked guajillo salsa, and charred scallion ranch). These were a unique take on the classic and I was here for it, definitely try these! I then had the wedge salad (blue cheese, nueske's bacon, cherry tomatoes, radish, pepitas, crispy onions, and thai basil goddess). There were no tomatoes on ours, and so we were given sliced avocado instead. This was an interesting attempt but not my favorite take on this dish, I probably would not get this again. However, the shrimp po boy buns came through to round off this meal! (crispy shrimp, smoky aioli, house made choppy chop, dill on two buttered potato rolls.) These were fantastic and absolutely fire. NOTE they are tiny, almost appetizer sized, which didnt bother me because after the salad and cheese curds I was feeling full already but I would go back and get two orders just for myself they were that good. All in all a great place, I recommend!

I paid attention to how the staff would handle the situation. After helping the current customer, the cashier gave him a cup of juice. I didn't see any payment, so I assumed it was offered to him. As he stepped outside, I asked my husband to check if he wanted something to eat. When my husband came back, he told me he had given him money. While that was kind, I honestly would have preferred to get him food myself just to make sure he actually ate. A few minutes later, the man came back in and sat at the counter. At first, I didn't see anyone approach him, but shortly after, the staff brought him a bag with food. I'm not sure if he ordered through the take out window then came in, paid the waiter, or if it was provided to him, but either way, it meant a lot to see. He took his food and left. What stood out most was that the staff didn't ignore him, rush him out, or treat him like he didn't belong. At one point, I even heard a staff member ask if he had received his juice, which made me think this wasn't their first interaction with him. In a world where people are often overlooked or dismissed, it meant a lot to see a business show simple human kindness. Treating people with dignity and empathy shouldn't be rare--but unfortunately, it often is. For that alone, Honey's Sit 'n Eat deserves recognition. Oh... and the food is always great!
