I ordered a butter chicken pizza and I didn't realize it was curry with Turmeric. I'm severely allergic to Turmeric. Thankfully I didn't end up in the hospital because I used my Epipen. What's not to like about a quick fast-casual pizza spot in the neighborhood? The service was quiet but friendly, and attentive for a fast- casual spot. Got the Sicilian and the BBQ Chicken slices warmed up and it took about 15 minutes from ordering to perfectly crispy crust gooey cheese pizza in my mouth. The location is clearly mainly intended for takeout pies but there's a little V shaped nook with counter seating for 6-8 people total or multiple small groups shoulder to shoulder that can do if you're hungry and want to eat the pizza fresh. Free parking in the surface lot right outside, and it even connects to an underground lot as well. Yum, highly recommend! read more

There's not a ton of seating inside, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot, which worked perfectly for what I needed. The pizza itself is generously sized and super filling, so I thought the $45 total (after tip) was a fair deal. The only small hiccup was a mix-up with my order. I placed it in person and was told it would be about a 25-minute wait, so I hung out in my car. When I came back in around the 20-minute mark to check in, the staff member at the register seemed confused and couldn't find my order ticket. It was time for lunch in West LA and my indecisive self was driving down Santa Monica blvd with no destination in site. I wasn't in the mood for anything specific, but when Prime Pizza popped up I pulled in and knew it was time to get some pizza. This shop looks great from the outside, is super clean inside, and has a pretty good looking menu and slice case right up front. I was pretty hungry so I decided to get a slice of the cheese pizza and a slice of the grandma style square slice cheese as well. The gentleman who took my order popped the slices in the oven and soon enough I was on my way with two hot pieces or pizza. The pizza looked really good, but when it came to the flavour department it just didn't do all that much for me. The slice of cheese was pretty standard for a basic slice of cheese, having decent enough but not strong flavour, while the slice of grandmas style was incredibly boring, had very little flavour, and barely had sauce on it either. Overall, Prime Pizza just isn't my type of pizza place at the end of the day. Would I pop in again for some simple slices if a friend wanted too? Sure, but it's never gonna be my pick. read more

For three of us we got the square meat lovers with added basil (free addition). The pizza was full of depth flavor wise and in size. It was full of sauce, full of meat, and full of cheese. The added basil was kinda lacking but the flavor without it was great nonetheless. Pick up was easy and in time. The docking of one star was even in that short time to pick up the pizza, felt like the person providing the pizza was a bit perturbed and annoyed which was kinda off putting. The pizza was heavenly when we sat down to eat (there are some small tables outside for customers to enjoy and a small bench top in the restaurant). The crust was perfectly crispy and chewy, the proportions of sauce to cheese to pesto drip was divine, and the extra lil Parmesan packets combined made this pie absolutely divine. I'm a bit of a pizza snob as I'm from Long Island and tend to compare all the pizza I've eaten to what I can get back home. Prime Pizza when it's fresh tastes just a bit like home. First of all let me start with saying the square pie here has been one of my favorite pies to get from this pizza place. But, the last time I got a half grandma half Sicilian it was disappointing. One of the reasons I order the square pie is the thicker, fluffier almost focaccia like crust, but this time the crust was thin much like the very round pie not what I ordered at all. I'm afraid to think that the quality control is going down hill since it seems this chain is focused on opening up more locations and not maintaining QC on their existing restaurants. We loved them all. The proportions for everything were great. The square slice wasnt too doughy or bready at all. My boyfriend thought the sauce on the spicy pepperoni wasnt very tomatoy, but i still thought it was good, a lot of spice! I dont typically like plain cheese or white pizza but the cheese was great and the white pizza garlic sauce was tasty. This will def be a place we return to. Treated to Prime Pizza for lunch at work. I don't understand the high ratings. The crust is too chewy, almost leathery. Noticed another reviewer described the crust like plastic. It looks good but is unpleasant and definitely not worth the carbs. Among the cheese, pepperoni, meat lover and mixed veggie pies, the veggies were shriveled from over baking. Sorry but the bell peppers looked like worms. I did like the mild spicy sausage on my Supreme (meat and vegetables) slice. The slice is thin, too the way a good pizza should be. The sauce was ok. Prime Pizza is more conveniently located to me than my favorite, La Monica's in Westwood. Since a slice is a lot cheaper than La Monica's I might try a fresh slice and see if it changes my first impression. read more

I usually get the same pizza every time- the Arrabbiata! It has spicy arrabbiata tomato sauce, mozzarella, fontina, red onion & parsley. I take out the red onion and add on red peppers tho. Just preference. It's soooo good! The pizza is thin, crispy perfection. But honey- let me tell you about the star of the show... the RANCH! I am a ranch with every bite of pizza kind of girl and the Prime Pizza ranch is the BEST!! They sell them on the side or by the bottle. Get yourself a bottle! I've been putting it on everything at home and life is good. This location has indoor and outdoor seating, paper plates and seasonings out to grab, and a really cool staff. We sat outside for lunch and it was nice! The view is a parking lot but when you're eating pizza this good ain't none of that matters. The prices are a bit on the pricier side but it's such a delicious meal and I see it as a treat ya know? Just a note, I would recommend bringing your own beverage. There is a parking lot but all the spots on top are 10 minutes max. We still parked right in front and just watched the car and no one came by. We were there for maybe 20 minutes. The pizza was cold and the dough was like cardboard as a result. I think unless you're close to the actual restaurant I wouldn't recommend as it was like a pizza that was sitting for an hour for our delivery in Palms area of LA. Maybe it's the delivery person fault but either way had to reheat and it suffered as a result. read more

We chose the "small" combo , which consisted of 3 small cheese pizzas, choice of two salads and a 12 pc garlic knot order. I subbed two of the cheese pizzas with more premium options, and added a topping to one and added some extra sauces. Total was about $100 and let me tell you, the pizza was no where near being small and it was more than enough food to feed 6 people. This spot was on my bookmark and found the opportunity to go there with my girlfriend. I thought it was going to be bigger, but there was space for us to sit there and give the pizza a shot. We went for the pepperoni and mushroom pizza and in 25 minutes, we were in for a treat. Eight NYC style slices and was I happily surprised when I saw they had oregano available to sprinkle all over. Taking my first bite took me back east so fast and it was incredible. I enjoyed three of them before I called it so I could enjoy the rest of the night out. They are very popular for carryout, as many cars rolled up and took off with pizza as we visited. I have been to the Prime Pizza in Little Tokyo, downtown LA and enjoyed it; so I was happy to see this one in WLA on busy Santa Monica Blvd. Service was fast and professional. I tried their Spicy Pepperoni Sicilian Pizza, Cheese Pizza, Arrabbiata Pizza, and their Pepperoni Pizza. My favorite by far was the Spicy Pepperoni Sicilian pizza (5 stars for this pizza). The crust is thicker and has a nice crunch on the outside, and the spicy pepperoni had a great kick. This pizza is not something you can find everywhere and is a unique and delicious pizza. As for the other round pizzas I ordered, the crust is thinner and has good texture where it's crispy but also softer inside. I would have liked more basil on all the round pizzas, and more onions for the Arriabbata Pizza. So the toppings seemed a bit lacking and didn't feel like there was unique flavor. The pizzas are pretty big and cost around $26-28. Overall, I would definitely order the Spicy Pepperoni Sicilian Pizza again even for $28, but I don't think the round pizzas are worth the price. read more

I'm struggling with my star rating on this review. I stopped by on a Sunday at 4pm craving pizza, but made the grave error of opting for slices. I didn't want or need a whole pie, but we all know fresh pies are better than stale slices. You would think they would be gearing up for Sunday dinner service or at least the hungover crowd that finally gained the courage to eat, but apparently not. There were no cheese slices, no vodka slices, some dry looking pepperoni and half pies of grandma and sicilian. I opted to wait for the fresh cheese and vodka that would be out in about 10 min. I ordered one slice each of: vodka, cheese, grandma and pepperoni. The vodka and cheese were on a thin crispy crust, which I enjoyed. The grandma is a thicker crust. The pepperoni was still dry and missing pepperoni on half the slice. Bonus: fresh whole pies are good Bogus: slices are dry and sad at $5/per slice Final Verdict: the vodka slice was my favorite. It does remind me of going to a slice shop back in NY. They'll even give it to you at display temp. What isn't NY style but I like is the spicy pepperoni, for that I don't get a slice. I get a whole pizza and slowly eat my way through it. The location here is a little different from the other locations I went to. Fairfax, Little Tokyo are storefront locations but the one here is in a strip mall-good thing about that is there's plenty of parking. I had to update my review because I've been back a couple of times for their Grandma Pie, which is one of my fave pizzas around. Love the thick slices and that Grandma sauce! I only wish that my family members would be down with getting the pepperoni or meat lovers. I always pick up my pizzas because they're pretty close and have a parking lot. They did just expand their delivery zone to 5 miles, so if you hadn't had delivery before because of their limited radius, it just got bigger! read more
