The food is usually pretty good. I had been going here for more than 10 years. The owner, however, is just plain rude. When he's not there, the staff is very kind and enjoyable. I hadn't come to this place for a while because the last time I was there, the owner was very rude to me. He tried to charge me extra for "heavy garlic" ! The definition of insanity is to do the same thing again and again and expect a different outcome. Very tasty pizza. We ordered the barbeque chicken and the portobello mushrooms with sun dried tomatoes. I also got the Mediterranean salad with chicken and my kids got the fettuccine Alfredo and the spaghetti with Turkey meatballs. It is a lot of food and we could not finish it. It was average: good but nothing to go out of your way for. We got the works without mushrooms and it was good. The zucchini fries were 10/10 though! Perfectly crispy and delicious! Also, just a heads up, this place has a B health rating. That doesn't automatically deter me tho since I grew up eating at local chinese restaurants that didn't always have an A rating. The containers they hold the ingredients in look like they've been reused since the 1800's. They have a gimmicky "buy one get one free offer" that's obviously the same as just buying two pizzas. Love this place. We visit at least few times a week because it's so affordable (almost same price as Mcdonalds for 2 ) and food is very high quality . When you select two stars it says "Could've been better" and I agree from their ambiguous and misleading pricing to how they articulate quality it all feels a bit misleading. I gave this pizza place a chance after reading countless bad reviews and I'd have to say I was amused to encounter almost every Piece of feedback and critique was comically accurate. Made a point to stick to business (no small talk and waited mainly outside) but made sure to tip the tip jar. Hopefully the pizza maker gets the tip. Poor guy has to work there. Ordered today thinking this business was still located in Westwood, not the case as of a year ago. We were redirected to their new location on Pico. They are now operating alongside Cicceros Pizza. One location, two menus. I called in to order 1 large pepperoni, mushroom, and sausage pizza and was surprised when they said, you get one pizza free so for the 2nd pizza I got only pepperoni . The total was $32. Not really a "deal" however my family loved it. I personally loved the big chunks of mushrooms and sausage. I have already written a review for "That Pizza Place". This is just a quick update that they do have healthier options in addition to their pizzas and pastas. I like to get their Salmon Plate. It's a good size portion of salmon and they shower vegetables on it (mostly potatoes and beets). It's seasoned pretty well and the salmon is moist. I also like to get the Steak and Zucchini Sandwich. The sandwich comes with a pesto sauce but you can ask them to put it on the side. Fries usually comes with the sandwich but you can request a side salad instead. Just make sure you confirm the pesto sauce is on the side because sometimes they forget. read more

For salad, we decided to stay with Ambar's Cobb selection; this came stuffed, almost beyond capacity, with cafeteria level romaine, sliced avocado, chopped hard boiled eggs, chewy bacon bits, and saltwater injected chicken style chicken pieces. There wasn't much cheese on the pizza, and there wasn't much sauce, but the flavorful grilled veggies were more than sufficient to represent and deliver! Released from the confines of its plastic box, our salad filled a huge serving bowl past the brim and made several plated portions to go around. We did end up having to make a basic dressing for the salad though, because the vinaigrette that came with was just a little too randomly herby for us to appreciate beyond tasting. With our own dressing, the Cobb salad wasn't too bad, although we'll probably get another kind next time, but the real surprise was the grilled veggie pizza! Slices were pleasantly salty, light tasting and, with no meat, little sauce and cheese, less greasy than takeout pies we've ordered from other places in recent past. Tasty bites for adult mites! What a discovery! I am grateful to my friend Tom for introducing this place to me. I would have driven past this place a thousand times and never stopped. We had two chicken pesto sandwiches with a side salad. The two orders, a can of Diet Coke, tax and tip came out to $18. Doesn't sound like a big deal until you see my pictures.
