I've been a long time customer of Pasta Sisters, and it always hits! My favorite is the Salmon and Cherry Tomatoes Pasta. It's tomatoey, tangy, and very light. I also tried my friend's Clam Pasta, and if you like strong clam flavor, you should definitely try this one out. Overall, the quality of the pasta and sauce is always consistently good. Back in the day you would get endless high quality focaccia with the loveliest flaky sea salt. Now you're served the saddest dry baguette. I wish they would've outsourced to lees sandwiches for baguettes if they wanted to go this route. Back in the day the pasta was more affordable but alas, que sera sera. It was excessively hot the night I had dinner. I know i should've told the server but I am not exempt from the bystander effect. Everyone was avoiding the heat lamps & moving around to another table looking for respite. The lamps were on so high I could see flames blowing in the wind approximately 6 inches outside of the metal frame. The pasta is still delicious & my husband and I even got to try a new dish (the cacio e pepe). Bolognese papardelle add burrata 10/10 no notes. Ever since I had cacio e pepe in some restaurant in downtown long beach (around the dog haus & ross area), I feel unsatisfied with ordering cacio e pepe elsewhere. I wanted to try their featured pasta from the show but was bummed to find out it was discontinued. However their bolognese and their spaghetti clams were delicious! To add, there's tons of natural lighting to bask in and take pictures. No picture, not even the one I'm posting does their salmon & cream pasta justice. I typically enjoy my salmon very simply - pan fried with salt and pepper to season. But this dish was delicate, yet flavorful (giving a personal rating of 4.6/5). First ever Pasta Sisters experience!! Came for a weekend lunch and there wasn't much of a wait. It's one of those spots where you order at the register and then they seat you. I am a sucker for those spots that give you olive oil and balsamic vinegar with your bread so I was sold from the get go. The pasta also was soo good. We had a big group and they kindly accommodate 14 people. Huge comfortable outdoor area. Another place where you order at the counter first then find a seat. I had the tagliatelle with black truffle and roasted salmon. The pasta and sauce were amazing. Good taste and not overcooked. My biggest disappointment was the salmon. It was very much undercooked. I requested it to be cooked more but when it came back it was still undercooked. I was not happy with whoever had cooked my salmon but the waiter was kind enough to compensate me with the tiramisu which was to die for. I would come back but I would never get the salmon here. Fancy eating, quality Italian and without the pressure too! I've been wanting to try Pasta Sisters for quite some time, but just never found myself in this area of SoCal. After watching a play nearby, we decided to stop by for dinner and we happened to do so during their Happy Hour. There's plenty of parking in the structure in the back that the restaurant shares with the plaza. You order, you take your number to your table, and they bring out the food for you. They have a point system here and lots of customizability as well as weekly and monthly specials. If I were closer, this would definitely be a place that I'd frequent often. There's limited indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor covered seating and just in general outdoor seating. Loved that there was a small jar of tiny fresh cut flowers on each table. Made it feel cute and nice! For our dinner, we got the: 1) Ravioli of the week: -This was their homemade ravioli filled with sauteed spinach and ricotta cheese. -You get the option of choosing the sauce that comes with your ravioli (either tomato and basil, arrabbiata, or butter and sage) and I took the worker's recommendation and got the arrabbiata. -Delicious tangy tomato flavor with a kick that went well with the creaminess of the inside of the ravioli. 2) Roasted Salmon Filet: -Comes with your choice of 2 sides, we got the roasted broccoli and mashed potatoes. Both were very solid. Can never go wrong with mashed potatoes and the broccoli gave a nice added crunchy texture. -Salmon filet was super moist and buttery and went great with the squeezing of the lemon. 3) Black Truffle Pasta: -Simple Italian black truffle with butter. -You can choose the pasta, so we got the fresh pappardelle. -My brother made the comment that this is just the Italian version of hand pulled chili oil noodles you'd get at a Chinese place, and I'm like, "So true!". Again, another wonderful depiction of convergent evolution. -Rich umami taste made this dish super easy to eat and addicting. 4) Cold Cuts and Mozzarella Plate: -We got this with the mozzarella since the burrata was out, but still delicious. -Comes with some arugula and a mix of speck, mortadella with pistachio, porchetta, and salame. -Goes great with the complimentary plate too. All the pasta and dough used had the perfect texture, absorbed the sauces, and had wonderful seasoning. Definitely a place where you get to enjoy the quality of the ingredients and the food without being overwhelmed by too much. Each meal comes with complimentary focaccia bread and balsamic vinegar and olive oil or you can dip it into the leftover sauce. The waiter came by and checked on us constantly, making sure we had the parmesan and crushed peppers, to see if we needed anything, and to clear away our plates. We added 2 glasses of pinot noir to our order, which is $5 during Happy Hour, but we weren't charged, so I went up to the front to pay for it. I always see the Pico Arlington one on my way home and that one is a pretty small location. I was in the west side tonight so we decided to go to the Culver location tonight. I didn't know what to expect, I just knew this place had great reviews. The one here is located in the Culver Arts District area which means street parking along the main streets, but we saw there was a back lot for that building. We parked and walked towards Pasta Sisters and came through the back. There are 3 seating areas (front patio, inside, or back patio) and it's the kind of place where you order + pay first, and then get seated. All the employees we bumped into were so nice, the female employee at the register was so sweet and the general manager was super nice as well. I love me a good bolognese so I ordered that with tagliatelle pasta. We also ordered January's special, the seafood pasta, the prosciutto and arugula pizza on focaccia, and paired it with a bottle of the Bruni Poggio D'Elsa bc of my name Love the complementary soft focaccia bread with oil and balsamic even though I didn't eat much of it. The bolognese was just how I liked it. The meat sauce simmered to perfection with the right spices and flavor. The seafood pasta was also very good with shrimp and clams and a spicy tomato bisque sauce. I thought the pizza would have been good if it was fresh. It came very luke warm, but I guess that's not their main star of the restaurant anyway. Overall, 5/5 for the pasta and service. I also enjoyed the location of this one. Solid casual Italian eats spot! I got the porcini mushroom pasta with tagliatelle pasta and it was pretty good. The sauce was creamy with good mushroom flavor and I liked the al dente noodle texture. I got it with a side of chicken cutlet which was nothing special, just needed the protein. It was a bit overpriced for what it was at $12 though. I came back this time with a friend and loved the pasta again. We took the Metro E line to Culver City Station, about an eight-minute walk from the restaurant. I got spaghetti bolognese ($18) because I remembered how great it tasted the first time I visited. The spaghetti was wonderfully al dente, and I savored each the texture from each bite. I also enjoyed how the bolognese had a pleasant flavor with the ground beef cooked in red wine and tomato sauce. Also, they always do a great job presenting their dishes. My friend liked how they put shrimp on the clams for his spaghetti. Other than the pasta, the focaccia bread was tasty mixed with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It comes with a natural saltiness. It was a nice side dish before our pastas. Their cucumber water was also refreshing. I can't believe I haven't reviewed Pasta Sisters before! I've been coming here for years and it's always a reliable meal. I've tried both their fresh and dried pasta. I haven't tried all the sauces, but my favorite is the gnocchi and porcini mushroom. The other sauces are solid too - I've had bolognese, tomato basil, arrabbiata, pesto. I'm someone who prefers my pasta a little more cooked, so what they serve is a bit al dente for me. Their bread is also great, and I always end up eating a bunch of it because they make the orders fresh which takes a while. You can order ahead online too. They have a few tables indoors, but most of their seating is on an enclosed outdoor patio. The servers are attentive and the bathrooms are clean! There is a parking structure right next to the shop. We got complimentary bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar bread dip. You can choose what type of pasta you want in your meal. If you are getting a drink or dessert, or adding a protein or burrata to your pasta + sauce, including tax and tip, you easily reach $40 per person. If you get just a pasta + sauce, you could make it closer to $25. But overall, Pasta Sisters is good and I am always happy to dine here. I was very excited to try the truffle pasta but the truffle was basically canned truffle with tons of truffle oil. The truffle oil definitely hurt my stomach later because it was just wayyyy too much oil. I would not recommend the truffle pasta because i believe it's overpriced for what you get and you can tell its not up to the quality I think that the Uovo truffle pasta lives up to with a better truffle flavor and around the same price or even cheaper I believe. I placed an order for pick up through their website. We got the porcini mushroom tagliatelle which was good but didn't have very many mushrooms in it. The pesto gnocchi was delicious. Their pizza slices are surprisingly delicious. It's because the crust is their focaccia bread. The honey salami and prosciutto flavors were both great. The order came with 2 complimentary focaccia slices. What's annoying is that they use doordash for their pick up orders on their website, but it's more expensive ordering through the actual doordash app ($2 more per pasta and $1 more per pizza slice). read more
