Just stopped by Bianca for the first time this weekend, after hearing about it for quite some time. My friends and I showed up to breakfast without a reservation, and thankfully, the hostess was able to seat us immediately. Since we got there early, we had our pick of seating and opted for a table on the beautiful outside patio. The breakfast menu is small but has all the classics - eggs Benedict, avocado toast, pancakes, etc. I was in a ravenous mood, so I opted for the ever decadent Croque Madame and a Spanish latte. The Croque Madame was as rich and indulgent as I'd hoped it be, with every bite oozing with runny egg yolk and creamy bechamel sauce. I liked that it came with a side salad of mixed greens, which made me feel slightly better about scarfing down all that buttery goodness. I really liked the Spanish latte as well, and I'm glad they were able to accommodate my requests for less ice and sweetness. Throughout the morning, the servers continually checked in with us to ensure we had everything we needed. The restaurant ended up getting packed as we were finishing up, so it took a while to flag down a server for the check. The restaurant is conveniently located near the metro station and the Platform mall, and there's a large parking garage across from the mall as well as metered street parking. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and overall experience at Bianca, though I was a little shocked by the prices for the portion sizes. With that being said, I would consider coming back to try some pastries, as I hear that the bakery is the real star of the show. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but after weeks of trying to resolve this privately, I feel obligated to share my experience. I had a Mother's Day reservation for my family when a family emergency came up. I called the restaurant within minutes of them opening that morning, giving them more than six hours' notice before the reservation. I explained the situation and even offered to find someone to take the reservation so the table would not go unused. The host I spoke with was incredibly kind and understanding. She repeatedly reassured me that I would not be charged a cancellation fee. I remember hanging up feeling genuinely grateful for the compassion and grace she showed during a stressful family situation. Imagine my surprise when I was charged anyway. What followed were weeks of emails and back-and-forth with management. Rather than honoring what I was told, I was informed that they could not verify that a refund had ever been discussed. To make matters worse, Bianca later acknowledged that they had charged me based on the wrong number of guests. My reservation was for six people, but I was initially charged as though it was for eight. Had I not carefully reviewed the charge and brought it to their attention myself, I would have been overcharged. At that point, the issue became less about the money and more about trust. I gave the restaurant more than six hours' notice on one of the busiest days of the year. I relied on the assurances given to me by their staff. I then had to spend weeks disputing both a cancellation charge and an incorrect guest count that I was forced to catch myself. What is most disappointing is that the host demonstrated the kind of hospitality I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber, while management's handling of the situation completely undermined that goodwill. The fuggazetta pizza was unique with a dough that was so pillowy and soft that was perfect with against bite of the onions and tang of the olives. The french onion soup was rich and cozy with the perfect cheese pull. The chicken sandwich was juicy with a bit of a kick which went well with the refreshing slaw. The pasta was solid -- a standard, textbook bolognese. The only miss for me was the olive oil cake which while nice and moist was a little too heavy on the olive oil flavor so it tasted a bit like you were eating a foccaccia with cream. Eggs benedict: Nicely done, excellent presentation. Although I recommend not sharing it, my yolk was missing. :-) Everything is just wonderful, it remind me of home and I absolutely love the plating. First off, the staff was incredible and so attentive. We sat out on the patio, and it was the perfect spot for sunset. They also have heaters available in case it gets chilly, which made the experience even more comfortable. The food was delicious! We started with the bread basket and the Argentinian prawn carpaccio. My favorite bread was the multigrain seeded loaf perfectly baked with amazing texture and flavor. The prawn carpaccio tasted so fresh, with bright peppers and a small piece of orange that really made the flavors pop. For our mains, I had the fettuccini special with asparagus and fried pork, while my boyfriend ordered the monkfish "poor man's lobster." Both dishes were packed with incredible flavor and cooked beautifully. We finished with an affogato and Grandma's chocolate cake, perfection! Everything was delicious. This is the second time I've had lunch at Bianca and I will say it is for sure not the last time. The first time I had lunch it was good but nothing that was too over or under whelming. Today Bianca was firing on all cylinders. Our server Brian was fantastic. He had good recommendations especially when I asked for the dessert choice. I'll come back to that. Today everything was on point. The service, top notch. Brian coursed our meal perfectly and checked in on us to see when we needed more time with something or if we needed our table cleared. The weather was so nice and maybe that added to the overall ambiance behind the hedge wall. I felt like everyone in and outside of the restaurant was enjoying their time. We shared the Tartare De Thon, very clean and refreshing. Using the lettuce cup instead of the bread was nice. We also shared the delicious burrata and peach salad. The freshest peach and creamiest burrata. A must get if you ask me. Brilliantly plated with lettuce cups to assist and a little kiss of a cherry tomato. Our main dishes were the Milanese and the Branzino. The branzino was shown table side then taken back for deboning. The flavor within that dish was to die for. A slight squeeze of lemon and muah chefs kiss. The Milanese looked great and was presented with a sunny side up egg on top. The mashed potatoes that came with it were nicely done. I asked Brian between three dessert, crème brûlée, cheesecake and the olive oil cake. He recommended the Cheesecake and I have to say I cannot Imagine that any desert could be better. It was light and creamy and perfectly sized to finish off a great meal. I was going to give the review four stars using a mix of my first and second times here. We had the Margherita pizza although it was more like 4" than the 6" the menu claimed, French onion soup (I've had French onion soup at other places where it was filled to the brim with a crust on top, and this had less, but enough.), New Zealand salmon was light and delicious the way I wanted it - thanks to our server who asked how we wanted our salmon cooked, Grandma's chocolate cake, and olive oil cake to top our 3-course meal. Service was excellent. We sat on the patio with heat lamps. Nice ambience inside and outside. Parking in the building was $2/hr where my friend parked. Bianca is our go-to for everything, local bakery, café, meeting spot, and caterer all in one. Federico is always there bright and early, and no request ever feels too small, his hospitality like a good neighbor really stands out. My go-to order? This is the sister restaurant to Madeo and more easily accessible to with their bakery and lunch menus. They were very friendly with their regulars. The appetizers: onion soup was okay. The fugazetta pizza was pretty good. The gnocchi was the star dish. The pillowy soft gnocchi in the tomato sauce with a hint of basil was delicious. The rigatoni was very good, but I kept going back and stealing gnocchi from my husband's bowl. The chocolate cake was good and very generous sized slice. Lemon tart was refreshing and light. Bianca is such a nice restaurant with a lot of sunlight that makes it really nice to sit and have a nice chat with your friends for a long time. Ordered the sandwiches (steak and ahi tuna) and they were very tasty! Came with a side of salad and was really filling. Also ordered their cappuccino as they offer coffee and that was really tasty as well. Definitely will be back here when I'm in Culver City for brunch. Reservations are recommended and paid parking is available at their garage. There are nearby shops and coffee places that you can visit near the restaurant. Went for lunch on a Friday for my daughter's birthday. Upon arrival, parking is easy and getting to the restaurant from the attached parking structure, no problem but they do not validate. It was $10, so not too bad. All the food ordered was delicious-no complaints. Service was excellent, the hostess was very rude and sour faced, but everyone has a bad day, right? We tried not to take it personally. I had the espresso martini-twice-and my daughter had the lychee martini but had the server ask the bartender to substitute the added cranberry juice with elderflower which is what should go in the drink. The gorgeously designed venue got me hooked the first step I made into the door. Located at the heart of Culver City, it added the growing list to places to dine at The Platform at Culver. You could sense the fusion of classic and contemporary French touch in the ambiance, which I totally admired. We went for Sunday brunch and started with their Croque Madame, which was mind-blowing. Yeah it might sound like pretty simple common brunch dish, but theirs certainly worth the price tag. Portion was filling, the bechamel sauce and cheese were flavorful and generous, the meat stuffing (prosciutto if I recalled correctly) was high quality, and the sunny side was perfectly runny. Being in French resto, we surely didn't wanna skip the pastries and cakes. We could hardly decide if to order the ricotta cheesecake tart or the almond and fig crostata. The server mentioned that the first was more popular and there we were ended up ordering both, and we didn't regret. They were both good in their own ways, and it would really depend on preference. The ricotta cheesecake served right balance of creamy and light texture, and came with nice crust. Whereas the almond and fig tart had delightful buttery tart and royal almond and fig blend. They did have tons other pastries and cakes on the showcase to try, not to mention their dessert menu as well.
