A group of friends and I stopped by at Calimex before heading to the beach. We got there a little bit before they opened and waited till they took our order. Everyone ordered breakfast burritos to go. I ordered the Oaxacan chorizo burrito, which was really tasty and filling. It started to get busy as we waited for our burritos, they have inside and outside seating and it's definitely worth checking out. We all enjoyed our burritos at the beach.

Great experience overall!! The service was attentive and welcoming from start to finish. We ordered the green chilaquiles with barbacoa, and it was excellent. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the green sauce had a perfect flavor. Everything tasted well-prepared and high quality. The café batido latte with almond milk and hazelnut flavor was also a standout!! It was smooth, flavorful, and a great complement to the meal. The ambiance is that of a cozy, family-owned spot, which adds to the overall charm and comfort of the experience. Would definitely recommend and plan to return and tell all my friends :)

This place is tiny! Probably less than 10 tables. But the food is BANGING. The barbacoa is the way to go. The plate comes with a huge amount of food. Burritos? Banging. But do NOT sleep on their agua frescas!! We usually get take out now so we don't have to wait in line and I always mix the agua frescas with some sparkling water and omggggg it's so refreshing and delicious. We've never had a bad flavor! They usually have 2 flavors and we will always try both. I almost don't want to blow this place up but I think they already have. I hope they stick around because it's one of my favorites!

Amazing family run spot in an unassuming location! Service is amazing as you can tell it's family run as they have the whole family working! You can tell they work hard and they deserve it! Food was great and big portions for the price. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito and it had so much flavor. The salsas that were provided could've used a bit more flavor but overall the burrito had enough spices and flavorings it didn't need extra salsa.

I should've visited this neighborhood gem way sooner! The inside reminds me of a senora's house and the nachos and taco were so tasty, fresh and just overall sooooo good! Their nachos have a lot of fresh flavors and their cheese is jalapeno infused! Mix in their fresh carne asada and you can bet I'll start becoming a regular here

Excellent chilaquiles!!!! The best! Small space but worth the wait. Very high quality ingredients! Fresh whipped cream on the pancakes and berries. (Secret squirrel pro tip: don't miss the great bbq next door on the weekends. We always get some ribs to go for later.)

Chilaquiles with barbacoa

I saw their TikTok posts promoting a family-owned business some months ago, and I just happened to be in the area with my friend so I went ahead and tried this place because their TikTok posts looked good. I went with the chilaquiles and added barbacoa. Overall the plating and flavors were excellent. I added a little more of their green sauce which was some sort of avocado blend. The only thing I would change is to have it on a longer plate with everything spread out to preserve more crunchiness from the tortilla chips. Other than that, the barbacoa was tender with no chewiness (I've had barbacoa from Chipotle years ago and it was not that good like this place's). I had the eggs sunny side up to allow the yolk to be spread among the dish. I would come back again when I'm in the area. Service can be a little slow because it seems like one guy was managing the front area. But that's to be expected from a family business and I was the least of my concerns. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito. It looked well wrapped and came with some chips and salsa. I don't do burritos much but I would consider trying theirs next time.

Such a wonderful hole in the wall! This spot is a family owned business and you can really witness the family running their business. Small spot but has a good amount of seating inside and out. I ordered the breakfast burrito with barbacoa meat. The barbacoa was so flavorful and the tortilla was nice and thin but crispy and held the burrito well! It was $17 but hefty (only ate half). Love how they have the whole family helping and such a heart warming experience. They're fast, efficient, and super friendly! Can't wait to try other things on their menu!

Asada Breakfast Burrito

I tried their Asada breakfast burrito at the Mar Vista farmers market, and it was incredible! I can't even imagine how much better it would be at the actual restaurant, and I definitely need to go in as soon as possible. The breakfast burrito is so hearty, the Asada is tender, and it has the perfect amount of cheese, potatoes, and grilled veggies. I like both of the salsas that it comes with it. The red one adds a little bit of spice, I do wish the green salsa had more citrus to it, but it isn't a make or break to how good the overall flavors of the breakfast burrito are.

I rarely give out 5 stars unless I'm truly impressed and wow this place was so good. It is super small with limited seating but it doesn't matter because the food all tastes home cooked. I got the carne asada plate which comes with rice and beans and everything was so good. The meat had good flavor and both the rice and beans were delicious! Staff was all nice and attentive. I was in the Culver City area in the morning and definitely craving a breakfast burrito. Saw this place on Yelp and it was on the way home for me from the mall. I was able to park up front on the street. Little hole in the wall type of place with a couple of seats inside. I ordered it to go at the front with a staff helping me so. Ordered their chorizo burrito and my wife ordered their bacon burrito. Price wasn't too bad considering the amount of flavor/meat and the size of the burrito. It was a nice good size that was filling. I ended up sharing half trying each. I especially like the chorizo and would opt over the bacon. However, they both tasted good. Definitely would come here again as the portion is considerably good compared to other breakfast burrito places.

Barbacoa Breakfast Burrito

Provecho Calimex is the bomb. They have one of the most balanced, melty, and tasty breakfast burritos. This breakfast burrito is for sure, A-tier. The tortilla has a crispy, grilled outer layer and a nice, fresh, and doughy inner layer. Inside the tortilla is a well-balanced blend of fresh meat, eggs, peppers, onions, and potatoes. All of the ingredients melt together wonderfully. I especially appreciate the fact that I could get barbacoa in my burrito. Barbacoa takes longer to prepare than your traditional BB meat of chorizo, sausage, or bacon. And the barbacoa here is fantastic. So juicy, meaty, and delicious. The joint is definitely a small, hole-in-the-wall type of setup. Nothing fancy. But plenty of flavor to be found. There isn't enough capacity to sit and serve a lot of people. So if you come during classic brunch hours on the weekend, I'd order ahead. We went as a party of 3 at 11:30 on a Saturday, ordered as soon as we got there, waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and then another 20 to get our burritos and lattes. If you have the time, then it's worth the wait. But I'd order beforehand if you don't care about being seated and eating there. Overall, Provecho provided a fantastic food experience. Its breakfast burritos are among the best in LA!

Don't come for a high class experience. Come for the breakfast burrito. Dine here because you enjoy the local community atmosphere. Come for the smiling host behind the counter where you can observe their restaurant supplies in the background. It's homey. Once the breakfast burrito was ready, it was time to head home to devour it. Oh yeah, so good. I'd order here again for more.

Are the burritos actually $24? Does it come with sides?

Burritos are $16, $17.64 with tax. They come with chips and two salsas but if you’d like a couple more, we’d be more than happy to add them!

It barely had any sugar in it, which I loved because coffee shops usually never have healthier options. He also really liked it, which is a win! I also tried the vegan chocolate chip cookie and shared it with two other people so we could all give it a try. We all loved it! I got the Iced 7th Inning Stretch, and mannnn oh man, it really shocked me with how unique the color and the taste were! Like I've said before, sadly some coffee shops have the looks but not the taste. This place has both, win win again! My boyfriend got the hot mocha latte, and that was really good too. Service: The cashier was super nice, and I told her it was my first time visiting. She explained every seasonal drink they had and even let me know one of them had peanut butter in it in case I had any allergies. I really appreciated that! Good thing I gave it a try because I usually don't like peanut butter, but this was so good (honestly, I couldn't even taste the peanut butter for anyone who's like me). I ended up going back and ordering another drink. This time it was another cashier, and she was just as nice! I asked for it without ice and explained how I still wanted it to taste really good and not watered down. She said she'd do me the favor of separating everything into cups. That kind of service is definitely memorable! Ambiance: Inside was super cute. I loved that there were small tables for people coming alone, and there was also a huge table in the back near the restroom with a big window that could seat at least 5-7 people. They had music playing but at a nice, comfortable level. Parking was super easy to find outside. I didn't ask if they have a parking structure, but they might. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no toilet seat covers in the restroom. It was super clean, but I always like to use those just to be safe. That's the only thing I'd say needs a little work. Overall, 10/10 for customer service, ambiance, and food/drinks! I will definitely be coming back!

As I was working through my message, I had the idea to include a visual illustration--a charcuterie setup to represent the abundant life Jesus offers. Right away, I thought of Alex and Olivia at Joliet Cafe. I've enjoyed Joliet Cafe for years-- whether I've come by in the day to get delicious coffee, or enjoyed the restaurant on a romantic night out with the wife - the food is always outstanding. Alex is truly a masterful chef! So just a couple of weeks before Easter, I reached out with this idea. Not only was he open to it, but he took the time to understand the vision and bring it to life. On the day of, Alex arrived early and prepared a beautiful, abundant "feast" that fit the message perfectly. It didn't just look incredible--it tasted amazing. I share all this to say: Alex's professionalism, creativity, skill, and flexibility make him an incredible choice for charcuterie boards, catering, or any culinary service. He truly delivers--and you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for helping make Easter such a meaningful and special day!

Menotti's coffee stop - you sure have me stopping by as a regular!…read more I feel like most coffee shops are a one and done for me considering how picky I am with my coffee, but this spot is always a must-visit after my Pilates session. They have a few shops in Los Angeles and Tokyo (with one opening dangerously near me in West LA), and I'm always drawn back to try their new, innovative seasonal drinks. While their coffee is a bit of a lighter roast than I prefer, their current spring special - a Sakura black sesame Hojicha latte is easily one of the BEST Hojicha drinks I've ever had, and I hope they keep it on the menu or introduce more Hojicha drinks to the lineup.
