Came here for brunch on Labor Day and had a great meal! There's street parking only as I didn't see a private lot. The place is small so maybe six tables max. It gets crowded but the food comes out quick. Their coffee menu was quite extensive but I didn't see that they had alternative milk so I didn't get any. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla with no added protein. My partner got the machaca. Both of our orders came out fairly quickly. The quesadilla had lots of egg and the salsa was really good. It was well balanced flavor and ingredient-wise. I would definitely come here again to try the coffee de olla and their lunch offerings.
Came here for the first time for breakfast after seeing the great reviews. The restaurant is kinda small with limited seating, but the workeds were friendly. I got the Calimex egg sandwich with sausage and a cafe de olla latte. The sandwich was delicious and filling. The latte was also very good. Loved the hints of cinnamon, and they offer almond and oat milk in addition to regular milk. Prices were also reasonable. My breakfast cost $20 before tax and tip, which I think is pretty good for Culver City. They also were giving out free candy to customers as part of the Halloween season. Very nice touch! I'd definitely come again.
Provecho Calimex is a small family-owned restaurant that originally started at the Mar Vista Farmers' Market during COVID and followed by the Marina del Rey Farmers Market. In 2024, Provecho Calimex ultimately opened this brick-and-mortar location. The restaurant blends traditional Mexican flavors from Oaxaca with American-style food. [Parking]: Street parking only, but not impossible to find an available spot in this part of the neighborhood. [Atmosphere]: This is a really small restaurant with approximately 6 tables. I was actually able to place an advance online order and pick up my order instead. [Menu]: The top three Yelp recommended items include Breakfast Burritos, Chilaquiles, and Quesadillas. *** Breakfast Burrito (Eggs, cheese, potatoes, bell pepper, chili poblano, and grilled onion - $17 + Asada $2.00): The burrito came with a mild salsa and a green salsa (Sriracha level of spiciness). The mild salsa was good. While the burrito tasted flavorful with an excellent tortilla, it felt more like a lunch burrito than a breakfast burrito as it had more potatoes than I would like. The order also came with an extra side of chips. The portion was big enough to split into breakfast and lunch portions. Cafe de Olla (Brewed coffee with notes of cinnamon and sweetened with unrefined whole cane sugar - hot $5.00): Not the best one I have had, but a solid cafe de olla. *** Solid breakfast burrito, but I personally like other breakfast burritos in Los Angeles / Orange County a bit better (e.g., LJ's Lil' Cafe, Phanny's, Wake and Late, etc.)
I would probably try breakfast if I ever went back. My friend and I both ordered the plates which come with meat, beans, rice, cabbage, guac, tortillas and tomato. My steak had great flavor but was cold. I think they grill it way before lunch time and it tasted like it had been sitting for awhile. They didn't warm it before serving. Still tasted alright. The beans and guac were excellent. The salsa was just ok. The service was just ok.
I ordered a Chorizo breakfast burrito, which was recommended by the person serving us at the register. This is a small location with nice artistry in the exterior and offering a homey vibe with the design on the inside. The waiter was friendly and handled our requests efficiently. The burrito was large! I did not finish it in one sitting, and it had a healthy amount of egg, chorizo, potatoes, and cheese on the inside. The order came with a side order of chips, green salsa, and red salsa. The green salsa was my favorite since it offered a slightly acidic taste, which cut through the saltiness of the chorizo in the burrito. If I am ever in the area again, I am definitely stopping by to try something else on the menu.

Great experience overall!! The service was attentive and welcoming from start to finish. We ordered the green chilaquiles with barbacoa, and it was excellent. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the green sauce had a perfect flavor. Everything tasted well-prepared and high quality. The café batido latte with almond milk and hazelnut flavor was also a standout!! It was smooth, flavorful, and a great complement to the meal. The ambiance is that of a cozy, family-owned spot, which adds to the overall charm and comfort of the experience. Would definitely recommend and plan to return and tell all my friends :)
Definitely not worth the price, I got 1 barbacoa chilequiles which tasted like birria not authentic barbacoa at all, it also didn't have Cotija cheese or crema like trueee chilequiles . I also got the huevos rancheros carne asada , soooo underwhelming in flavor the salsa tasted like something u get from the store . And the carne asada was more of steak fajita flavor not carne asada flavor . And the aguas frescas was watered down no flavor . Do not recommend this place I honestly don't know how it has 4.8 rating ...
Authentic flavorful Los Angeles Mexican food!!! A burst of flavor in every bite. Excellent service, quality so good you can smell it as soon as you walk in. Great for breakfast or brunch!
I saw their TikTok posts promoting a family-owned business some months ago, and I just happened to be in the area with my friend so I went ahead and tried this place because their TikTok posts looked good. I went with the chilaquiles and added barbacoa. Overall the plating and flavors were excellent. I added a little more of their green sauce which was some sort of avocado blend. The only thing I would change is to have it on a longer plate with everything spread out to preserve more crunchiness from the tortilla chips. Other than that, the barbacoa was tender with no chewiness (I've had barbacoa from Chipotle years ago and it was not that good like this place's). I had the eggs sunny side up to allow the yolk to be spread among the dish. I would come back again when I'm in the area. Service can be a little slow because it seems like one guy was managing the front area. But that's to be expected from a family business and I was the least of my concerns. My friend ordered a breakfast burrito. It looked well wrapped and came with some chips and salsa. I don't do burritos much but I would consider trying theirs next time.

Everyone ordered breakfast burritos to go. I ordered the Oaxacan chorizo burrito, which was really tasty and filling. It started to get busy as we waited for our burritos, they have inside and outside seating and it's definitely worth checking out. We all enjoyed our burritos at the beach.
I rarely give out 5 stars unless I'm truly impressed and wow this place was so good. It is super small with limited seating but it doesn't matter because the food all tastes home cooked. I got the carne asada plate which comes with rice and beans and everything was so good. The meat had good flavor and both the rice and beans were delicious! Staff was all nice and attentive. I finally got to try Provecho CaliMex, which is famous for its renowned breakfast burrito. They close right at 3 PM, so you definitely want to get there a little early. We arrived just before closing time, and the staff members were nice enough to roll one up for us anyway. The burrito itself is really good and stands out from the crowd. It feels very unique because it isn't just your regular, basic breakfast burrito packed with standard eggs and tater tots. Instead, it delivers a more refined taste with authentic Mexican flavors like peppers. They manage to elevate the ingredients while keeping a steady, well balanced flavor profile that doesn't overdo it. The house salsas aren't mind blowing on their own, but they add the exact kick the burrito needs to bring everything together. I'll definitely be back earlier in the day to enjoy it again.
THE BEST MEXICAN BREAKFAST SPOT I've had on this side of the 405. Really incredible food being served here. If you haven't stopped by, YOU NEED RUN HERE ASAP. I stopped by for brunch with my sisters and wife and we all agreed this was a new favorite of ours. We stopped by around noon and snagged up the last table as this place was busy. Service was good and very friendly. Menu is of a good variety but we ordered dishes such as there chilaquiles, Machaca con huevo and the breakfast burrito and they were all incredible dishes!! The Machaca con huevo was just phenomenal and the star of the plates. Quality and flavor and portion was truly a 10 out of 10. Thank you Provecho Calimex for the incredible food! Unfortunately, our experience here was very disappointing. The service was inattentive and disorganized, and we waited approximately 35 minutes for our food. When we mentioned the long wait, the servers seemed dismissive and gave us attitude rather than addressing the concern. The coffee was also very watered down. When we asked for it to be stronger,they just took out ice n added more water , but instead of correcting the coffee, it was simply diluted further. When we brought this up, we again felt that our concerns were not taken seriously. To make matters worse, our receipt was given as one combined bill without clearly itemizing the individual charges. We realized afterward that we may have been overcharged. I have called the restaurant multiple times over the past four days trying to get clarification, but no one has gotten back to me. The food itself was not the main issue--the customer service and lack of accountability were. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves both the organization of the service and the way customer concerns are handled. read more

I was in the Culver City area in the morning and definitely craving a breakfast burrito. Saw this place on Yelp and it was on the way home for me from the mall. I was able to park up front on the street. Little hole in the wall type of place with a couple of seats inside. I ordered it to go at the front with a staff helping me so. Ordered their chorizo burrito and my wife ordered their bacon burrito. Price wasn't too bad considering the amount of flavor/meat and the size of the burrito. It was a nice good size that was filling. I ended up sharing half trying each. I especially like the chorizo and would opt over the bacon. However, they both tasted good. Definitely would come here again as the portion is considerably good compared to other breakfast burrito places. read more

This spot is a thee perfect breakfast getaway, I absolutely love how tiny but mighty it is, Yes! First timer here! I was greeted by Ms Joy, such a sweet, pleasant, inviting host (we need more hosts like you) Background Spanish music was off the hook! Ordered my Chilaquiles, wasn't sure if I wanted the red or the green salsa. I was very happy that Joy gave me the option of having both. Whhhhha! Haha! In my perfect world, that is exactly how I wanted it! Thank you! and oh my goodness the Café de olla latte, w Oat milk (creamier) iced such a delight. I wish there were Free Refills! My visit was absolutely perfect! The Flavors. Food serving. Temperature. Service. All went Smoothly. A High 5 in my books! Oh and the Green Salsa... is Spicy. Red Salsa, just the right Medium Kick. This place is tiny! Probably less than 10 tables. But the food is BANGING. The barbacoa is the way to go. The plate comes with a huge amount of food. Burritos? Banging. But do NOT sleep on their agua frescas!! We usually get take out now so we don't have to wait in line and I always mix the agua frescas with some sparkling water and omggggg it's so refreshing and delicious. We've never had a bad flavor! They usually have 2 flavors and we will always try both. I almost don't want to blow this place up but I think they already have. I hope they stick around because it's one of my favorites! read more
Amazing family run spot in an unassuming location! Service is amazing as you can tell it's family run as they have the whole family working! You can tell they work hard and they deserve it! Food was great and big portions for the price. I got the chorizo breakfast burrito and it had so much flavor. The salsas that were provided could've used a bit more flavor but overall the burrito had enough spices and flavorings it didn't need extra salsa. read more

I should've visited this neighborhood gem way sooner! The inside reminds me of a senora's house and the nachos and taco were so tasty, fresh and just overall sooooo good! Their nachos have a lot of fresh flavors and their cheese is jalapeno infused! Mix in their fresh carne asada and you can bet I'll start becoming a regular here read more

Such a wonderful hole in the wall! This spot is a family owned business and you can really witness the family running their business. Small spot but has a good amount of seating inside and out. I ordered the breakfast burrito with barbacoa meat. The barbacoa was so flavorful and the tortilla was nice and thin but crispy and held the burrito well! It was $17 but hefty (only ate half). Love how they have the whole family helping and such a heart warming experience. They're fast, efficient, and super friendly! Can't wait to try other things on their menu! read more

Provecho Calimex is the bomb. They have one of the most balanced, melty, and tasty breakfast burritos. This breakfast burrito is for sure, A-tier. The tortilla has a crispy, grilled outer layer and a nice, fresh, and doughy inner layer. Inside the tortilla is a well-balanced blend of fresh meat, eggs, peppers, onions, and potatoes. All of the ingredients melt together wonderfully. I especially appreciate the fact that I could get barbacoa in my burrito. Barbacoa takes longer to prepare than your traditional BB meat of chorizo, sausage, or bacon. And the barbacoa here is fantastic. So juicy, meaty, and delicious. The joint is definitely a small, hole-in-the-wall type of setup. Nothing fancy. But plenty of flavor to be found. There isn't enough capacity to sit and serve a lot of people. So if you come during classic brunch hours on the weekend, I'd order ahead. We went as a party of 3 at 11:30 on a Saturday, ordered as soon as we got there, waited about 20 minutes to be seated, and then another 20 to get our burritos and lattes. If you have the time, then it's worth the wait. But I'd order beforehand if you don't care about being seated and eating there. Overall, Provecho provided a fantastic food experience. Excellent chilaquiles!!!! The best! Small space but worth the wait. Very high quality ingredients! Fresh whipped cream on the pancakes and berries. (Secret squirrel pro tip: don't miss the great bbq next door on the weekends. We always get some ribs to go for later.) read more
I tried their Asada breakfast burrito at the Mar Vista farmers market, and it was incredible! I can't even imagine how much better it would be at the actual restaurant, and I definitely need to go in as soon as possible. The breakfast burrito is so hearty, the Asada is tender, and it has the perfect amount of cheese, potatoes, and grilled veggies. I like both of the salsas that it comes with it. The red one adds a little bit of spice, I do wish the green salsa had more citrus to it, but it isn't a make or break to how good the overall flavors of the breakfast burrito are. read more

Please stop by this shop for amazing food and even more amazing service. I ordered takeaway breakfast. When I went to pick it up, the restaurant was very busy, but still felt cozy and welcoming. The servers made triple checked that I had everything and offered me water while I was waiting. The pancakes were super fluffy and very filling. The food was delicious. Burrito made fresh French toast made fresh . Server knows how to ask the right questions so you have the right order. The place is small has about 2 small tables to sit outdoors and eat. Just Wow! The food exceeded my expectations. Spot-on for breakfast burritos. Not large inside, decidedly homey, friendly service. The burritos themselves are tasty and substantial, the green salsa isn't very spicy. The food here was hot, authentic, and genuinely delicious. The warm tortillas were a great touch, and the portions felt like strong value for the price. Excellent excellent excellent. The food was very authentic. I of course had chilaquiles. I never pass on that brunch item! Ever!The green sauce is not mild but not too spicy. I had half and half and preferred the red sauce personally. My husband loved his barbacoa burrito. The way they toast the burrito on the plancha is a good finishing touch. The beautifully executed cafe olla was tasty and well worth with the price. Two meals, two coffees and tip was $54. The service was quick considering all the tables were full. This is a small spot, nothing fancy but so authentic I felt transported to Mexico for sure. read more
What a great spot. As you can see by the size of my plate, the portions here are big. Everything on my plate was delicious. The meat was tender and full of flavor. And the sides were just as good. My 1 year old daughter ate most of my beans lol. And the variety of hot sauces they offer were so good! Easy street parking. And the service was top notch. Great little family owned restaurant. Are the burritos actually $24? Does it come with sides?
Burritos are $16, $17.64 with tax. They come with chips and two salsas but if you’d like a couple more, we’d be more than happy to add them!
