Even though this Sobuneh location operates out of a ghost kitchen, don't let that stop you from trying this breakfast burrito. It is LEGIT! The flavors and textures were absolutely perfect, and it was easily one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in a long time. Everything just worked. Highly recommend giving Sobuneh a try!
Söbuneh was a solid stop for breakfast. Got the BB -- pasture raised organic eggs, beef bacon, cheddar, chives, tater tots, cilantro lime aioli, pickled onions, and avo -- and really enjoyed it. Ingredients were fresh and clearly good quality, and what I appreciated most was that every bite actually tasted like a full breakfast. You could actually taste each ingredient and it all came together really well. The beef bacon was a first for me too, has a almost jerky-like texture to it, and worked better than expected chopped up inside the burrito. Tater tots were super crunchy and held up really well even sitting out for a bit. The OJ was perfectly sweet and surprisingly still cold without ice. Outdoor seating only which has a really cute vibe and the staff is super friendly! Just don't come on a hot day, we made that mistake and even the shady spots didn't save us. A little on the pricier side but the portion is generous so it evens out. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area.
Go to the West Hollywood location, the food and variety is better there. I got the BB breakfast burrito from here and I feel like it could've been better. The meat inside was tough and hard to chew which I didn't like. The burrito was overall good though, but it wasn't as ooey and gooey as the burritos I had at the WeHo location. For $21, this was not worth it. I was also disappointed to learn upon arrival that no drinks were available which were on Yelp and Beli, so they must've stopped serving them at this location. Sobuneh is one of many food options located at Colony, a food hall. You place your order on the tablets and you'll get a text when your food is ready for pickup. There's some indoor and outdoor seating and a bathroom available. Parking is street parking. Overall, the breakfast burrito I had here wasn't bad, I just expected it to be better. I probably wouldn't try this spot again.
I didn't realize this one was located inside The Colony and was a bit bummed to learn they don't serve any espresso/matcha drinks here. The only drink available aside from bottled and canned drinks was orange juice, and it wasn't very good. I'm glad I finally tried the burrito! Size-wise it's heftier than W&L, though not by a lot, and is a good, filling burrito. I ordered an extra honey chipotle aioli to try both of em, and both are good but I still prefer the cilantro lime. The beef chorizo wasn't for me and I think I would've enjoyed the meatless or Cali burrito more than this one. Sadly they were out of the Cali burrito here. I'll try the other location some time for the other burritos and drinks. The girl working behind the counter was super sweet and very helpful too! :)
Sobuneh (or "breakfast" in Persian) is an Iranian-owned spot that specializes in breakfast burritos. The concept was founded by three UCLA alumni and they started as a backyard burrito pop-up in late 2023. Currently Sobuneh has a location at The Colony (a ghost kitchen that serves over 15 businesses) and a new standalone location in West Hollywood. [Parking]: Metered parking or paid public parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood. There is a small parking lot behind the building, but it is mostly reserved for food delivery drivers. [Ordering]: Visitors can order via the kiosk at The Colony or place an online order ahead of time. I went with the second option and my order was ready for pickup in less than 10 minutes. [Atmosphere] The Colony has an outdoor patio area with tables or customers can sit at the limited indoor tables with a TV playing ESPN. [Menu]: All breakfast burritos are served with a choice of cilantro-lime aioli or honey chipotle aioli on the side. Specialty drinks, espresso, matcha, cold brew, tea, and refreshers are only served at the West Hollywood location. This spot serves only four types of breakfast burritos: The Sig (beef chorizo), The BB (beef bacon), The Cali (steak), and The Veg. *** The Sig (pasture-raised organic eggs, beef chorizo, cheddar, avocado, tater tots, black beans, honey chipotle aioli, and cilantro-lime aioli served with pickled onions - Honey Chipotle Aioli, $18): For an $18 breakfast burrito, the portion was smaller than I expected and I was able to finish the entire whole burrito in 5 minutes. The burrito itself tasted mediocre and the flavor was not exactly on point (not sure why a breakfast burrito needs black beans and pickled onions). The honey chipotle sauce was a bit overpowering to the point that it masked the burrito's flavor itself (not that there was much flavor to begin with). *** Personally I would rather order a breakfast burrito from Bad-Aaa Breakfast Burritos (part of Dog Haus) than from here. At least Bad-Aaa Breakfast Burritos has a larger portion, tastes slightly better, and is less expensive. For anyone who really wants to try the hype, maybe stick with The Cali as it doesn't have black beans and pickled onions.
Ordered through their website for pickup. My order was 10 min early, luckily I was already near so my food wasn't sitting there getting cold. It's operated out of a ghost kitchen with other establishments inside. They have indoor dining and a patio area but I took mine to go. The BB Breakfast Burrito - The eggs were so fluffy and the tater tots offered a nice buttery crunch. I added avocado but I honestly don't think it needed it. The cilantro lime aioli was divine and a nice addition to the burrito. Would definitely come back and try the rest of their menu! I noticed some breakfast burritos were only available on the weekdays so I'll have to come in for lunch one day!
I can only review Sobuneh as delivery. I've got two young kids, so these days somebody else bringing me a breakfast burrito is often the more realistic version of brunch. And breakfast burritos are notoriously bad travelers. Thirty minutes inside foil and a delivery bag can turn a perfectly good one into a warm, soggy brick. Sobuneh somehow avoids that. I've ordered their breakfast burritos multiple times now and they consistently arrive warm and remarkably intact. The tater tots still have texture, the avocado hasn't turned into mush, the tortilla holds everything together and most importantly the whole thing still tastes like it was made with some care. One piece of advice, get the chipotle sauce on the side. They always honor the request and I think that's part of what keeps the burrito from getting soggy during delivery. Add it yourself as you eat. The heirloom pico de gallo is excellent. It's a little wet, but fresh and flavorful enough that I don't care. I just wish they had a legitimately hot salsa. The available sauces don't quite get there, so I usually end up reaching for whatever nuclear option I have at home. Even the tater tots travel surprisingly well. They're obviously never going to be straight from the fryer crispy after a delivery drive, but they're still warm with enough crunch left to make them worth ordering. Is it expensive for a breakfast burrito? Yeah. There's no getting around that. But there's also something to be said for ordering the same thing repeatedly and having it show up the way you hoped it would. Sobuneh has managed that enough times that I've stopped wondering whether the last order was a fluke. A very good breakfast burrito and one of the rare ones I'd actually recommend having delivered.
This review is for their pickup experience which I am currently waiting to pickup from The Colony location. There is no signage or anything I saw on the website letting you know to go in the back alley and order online because The Colony is actually closed at this hour. I am here at 8:15am, 15 mins after they open, placed my order and have been waiting close to half an hour so far. There are like 3 other people standing here, bunch of other confused people keep walking by just as turned around as I am, a few people even just left. No team members in sight at all except briefly to hand out orders. I called the phone number a few times and the gentleman was very nice, but this is too annoying of a process for me to want to do in the future and took way too long for one breakfast burrito. Even if it slaps they already put a poor taste in my mouth. Update: the cali breakfast burrito was very very good, def one of the best in LA, but you guys have to get the ordering flow down here stat.
Placed an online order to save time and we still had to wait an additional 15min+ after our supposed pick up time. Portions are good and I don't have a favorite between the bib or the sig. Sauces complimented the burritos.
It is in my top 3 for best breakfast burritos. They come packed and are loaded with flavor. I had this delivered which it prob sat in traffic for at least an hour and still hit. Will definitely go in person to give this a try.
Started the morning feeling like a breakfast burrito! Went to sobuneh because of all the craze! Ordered online because the lobby opens at 10am Took about 20 minutes I got the Cali With both sauces Tater tots! I will say this is one of the most flavorful breakfast burritos! Every aspect of the ingredients are seasoned and complimented each other! Out of the two sauces I preferred the honey chipotle They are both goated The cilantro lime just reminded me of pesto and Vietnamese food! That I felt over powered a lot of the flavors If you're dining solo the burrito does have tater tots inside if you want to skip the tots!
This place has been bookmarked for a while and it was finally time to give it a shot! I wanted to enjoy the sun and warm weather this weekend while also taking my boyfriend out for a yummy meal. This checked off both of those boxes! Parking is a little tricky, but that's to be expected in this area. You'll find street and meter parking, as well as a very small paid public parking lot towards the back. This is a ghost kitchen with other businesses sharing the space so you enter and order from one of the three touch screen kiosks. Very easy and straight forward. There's some seating inside and a covered outdoor section as well. I received a text when the order was ready, but a kind worker called out my name and brought the items over to our table! What we ordered: The Sig breakfast burrito (one with honey chipotle aioli and one with cilantro lime aioli) - 4/5 Only reason it is not a full 5 star is because it was big enough for the price point! Coming in at $18 with no modifications or extra sauce. I think $14.95-$16 is a fair price. HOWEVER, let's get into WHY it's rated high. The tortilla immediately caught my attention for being notably sturdy and of great quality. It didn't fold or rip throughout the entirety of the meal. It was very structured and supportive of the contents inside. That's key! Also had a nice toasted side to it. Kept it sealed and looks good. The avocado was super fresh and not mushy at all. The tator tots and chorizo were crispy! The honey chipotle aioli is the winner for us. I didn't care for the pickled onions on the side. I really enjoyed that the burrito was flavorful and clean. Wasn't messy or greasy, unlike some other places. The ice cold tea pairs perfectly. It also has clean ingredients, no sugar added, and only 35 calories. They offer 3 flavors! Overall, this spot gets our approval and we would definitely return to support. I noticed the Cali burrito was sold out, so might have to be the next one to try. the BB looks about the same but just includes beef bacon and chives rather than chorizo and beans

Anyway, somewhere between downward dog and genuinely reconsidering my life choices I was like okay I need the best breakfast burrito in LA right now and google brought me here Sobuneh is Persian for breakfast. Very cute. It's a ghost kitchen inside The Colony. Order in person or directly through their site bc everything is marked up on the apps We got two signature breakfast burritos, beef chorizo with honey chipotle aioli, tater tots with cilantro lime aioli and their felfel hot sauce. Every single bite was the same as the first. You know how the last third is usually just sad tortilla?? Not here. There was so much delicious filling. The tater tots were sooo crispy too Staff is super sweet, counter service, easy pickup. Definitely the best breast burrito in all of la. My only complaint is that they need a location in every neighborhood
The hype is real. The breakfast burritos are fantastic. They taste great like corner cottage or Los feliz cafe but they're not heavy, like wake & late. Get both the chipotle and cilantro lime salsas. Get the Sig if you're in more of a chorizo mood, get the BB if you're feeling bacon or beef chunks. Both breakfast burritos. With both salsas. Trust. No cash accepted, you pay with card at the kiosks. read more
Sobuneh's pricey but worth the wait and I think one of the best burritos in LA. The Cali burrito has steak, super crunchy tater tots, fluffy, creamy eggs, and avocado. Wish it had some pico de gallo. The lime cilantro crema still rocks. Tried the honey chipotle aioli this time. I prefer more spice than a sweet/heat combo. The tortilla is beautifully grilled. Some of steak pieces were unchewable. Good thing it comes packed with meat. Service is very good and both the indoor and outdoor eating areas at this ghost kitchen are clean and comfortable. read more
I definitely prefer this location over the West Hollywood one. It typically doesn't have a line, and it's also a pickup spot for multiple restaurants, so there can be a steady flow of people coming in for different orders. I like ordering online ahead of time for an easy pickup and then just dining in once I get my food. There's tons of seating inside and it's usually pretty empty. I've tried some of the other burritos before, but this was my first time getting the steak. Flavor-wise, it was delicious, but I felt like there wasn't much steak, and the pieces that were there were a little tough. Next time, I'd probably go for the bacon burrito instead. read more

We didn't realize that this location was located in a ghost kitchen food hall. Unlike previous ghost kitchens that we've been to, this location has indoor and outdoor seating available for you to enjoy your meal. We've been hearing so much hype with this place with many people claiming it to be the best breakfast burrito in LA. The sign said the wait was 30-45 minutes, but it definitely felt faster than that. You can order online or via kiosks. The burrito was on the smaller side and starts at $18. It is filling for one person, but not enough for sharing. I liked the Cali burrito more, but I wish the steak was a little more tender and I didn't realize it was gonna be a little spicy. We did not realize this was a ghost kitchen until we looked into ordering, as we found out about Sobuneh though rave tiktok reviews! We were pleasantly surprised at how smooth and quick the ordering and pickup process was, especially after the long experience of waiting in the Community Goods line on a Saturday morning. It only took about half an hour for our order to be ready for pickup. These burritos are amazing -- well packaged, well portioned, and well flavored! The ratio of egg to potato to avocado was perfect, and the seasoning never lacked in any bite. I would absolutely come here again. I even considered taking one for the flight home! You have add Sobuneh to your breakfast burrito bucket list! read more

Residing in Colony, the 'ghost kitchen' in Santa Monica, Sobuneh has been one of the place I wanna try for awhile yet haven't had the chance till today. To my surprise, it still successfully kept the crowd hooked, which I could tell given the warning they gave at the order kiosk calling out 15-20minutes waiting time. Ordering process was efficient and flawless as I could do it via the multiple self-service kiosks. They also informed if the orders were ready via text messages so you could comfortably wait on your table. Plenty of cozy spaces provided for dining in, though I'd say best accommodate a group of 4 or less. The burrito size was filling for my preference, and the combo of stuffing was delightful. I got their signature one which featured beef chorizo. Really love how the elements complemented each other; from the eggs, avocado, tater tots, and cheddar! The honey aioli sauce was another highlight being so flavorful and elevated the overall taste. I now got all the buzz Sobuneh got from the reviews I read. read more

As a breakfast burrito fanatic this spot was on my list for a bit! Finally we were in the area and decided to give it a try! Let's talk price to burrito size! If you're looking to share with someone else this is not the spot! The burritos are on the smaller size for $18 a piece. We ordered two, The Sig and The BB. The Sig had eggs, beef chorizo, avocado, tater tots and cheddar cheese! This one was a bit too much for me! The chorizo was heavily spiced and too aromatic for me to enjoy! I will say the crunchy tater tots and avocado were a plus but not enough for me to like it enough! The BB had eggs, beef bacon, chives and tater tots. This one for me was the best of the two! It was well balanced with the egg, bacon and tater tots ratio. I did enjoy the beef bacon as it was something I hadn't had! The cilantro aoli that came with it was ok, a little too much lime! In all honesty I wouldn't make the drive again, the burritos were good but they weren't mind boggling! Now if you're trying to try as many breakfast burritos in LA give it a go and see for yourself! I have to preface this by saying I'm not a huge breakfast burrito person, but if I were I think I would've liked this one. The burrito was stuffed with eggs, tater tots, and a bunch of good fillings, so it was definitely hearty and filling. We also got an order of tater tots, and those honestly might've been the best part. They were super crispy and not too potatoey, which made them way better than your average tots. This is quite possibly the best breakfast burrito I've had...but it did cost me almost $20:/ give and take. The place is located in a ghost kitchen type establishment. It's one of maybe a dozen other restaurants brands offered here. There are places to sit inside and out, but very little ambiance. In fact, we decided to get our order to go. Service was good, but the burritos take 15-20 mins, so prepare to wait. Ordered: The Sig (chorizo) and tots, and all the side sauces. The chorizo was all beef and so yummy. Less greasy, so perfect for me! That culante sauce was TDF, but the other honey sauce was too sweet for me. Don't recommend. Finally, the spicy sauce was not super spicy and in fact, was more of a dry heat, which was not my fav. Tots were very crispy, which I liked. I'm not going to lie...I was a little skeptical pulling up because this place is tucked inside a ghost kitchen with what feels like 47 other businesses. Finding it felt like a mini scavenger hunt, but thankfully the breakfast burrito at the end of the journey made it worth it. I went on a weekday and managed to find parking, but I have a feeling the weekends are a different story, so may the odds be ever in your favor. I ordered The Sig breakfast burrito with beef chorizo, and let me tell you--this thing came to play. The chorizo was packed with flavor, and every bite had the perfect balance of savory, rich, and satisfying. What really sets it apart, though, is the cilantro-lime aioli and pickled onions. As someone who usually goes to Saby's for a breakfast burrito, I had high standards coming in. After eating this, I'd say they're running neck and neck. Saby's still has my heart, but this spot definitely earned a place in the rotation. It really comes down to what kind of burrito mood you're in. read more

Worth the hype! My party of four all ordered the B.B. burrito to go. Everyone gave it 5 stars. Full of eggs, beef bacon and tots wrapped in a grilled burrito. The only thing it was missing was nothing, because I added avocado (+2) to mine! Truly the best $20 I spent all week. read more
Sobuneh is an awesome breakfast spot inside of colony. The service is great, I ordered delivery so it got me fresh and fast. So I got the breakfast burrito. I'm a big breakfast burrito person. I love breakfast and this is the best breakfast burrito. I've had in such a long time. The bacon was nice crispy fresh juicy. The chives were good. The eggs great the burrito itself 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. And just when you thought things couldn't get any better, the honey chipotle aïoli oh my God, so delicious so packed with flavor, pears, perfectly with the burrito . Sauce was so good you could drink it like it was that great would definitely order the sauce alone to try on other things. And then, lastly the tater tots, nice crispy fresh flavorful melt right in your mouth once you get past the crispiness. Also delicious. This place is just okay, absolutely not close to the insane hype it's been getting all over social media. And before I even begin about the food, I think it's pretty scummy to charge extra fees when ordering at a kiosk inside the food hall. Fees for what? Not even being served or helped by an actual host/cashier/server? And just one food hall worker bringing out the food? Ya, that's not cool. Not even a warning or notice about it. I would've just ordered online where there are no hidden fees. The burrito is fine, nothing to write home about. The tortilla was grilled well, the tots were crispy, and a good amount of avocado. Located in The Colony, with parking available in the back or metered street spots. You order through a self-service kiosk. I ordered the Sig ($21), which took about 17 minutes to come out. Portion was a bit smaller than expected for the price, but the flavors were solid. The burrito had great texture, and the lime aioli paired really well. My favorite part was definitely the tater tots. A little on the pricey side, but I'd still come back to try other items. read more

Sobuneh makes some of the best breakfast burritos in LA -- seriously impressive from the first bite. The beef bacon and beef chorizo are both incredible -- flavorful, perfectly cooked, and balanced by sauces that tie everything together beautifully. You can tell there's real thought behind how each burrito is constructed. It's a simple concept done at an exceptionally high level. Definitely a must-try if you're a breakfast burrito fan. read more
