Breakfast burritos are my thing, and this place was the rage that we had to come try out for ourselves. They're located in a tiny shop that looks like a co-op of several restaurants in one. Street parking was ok considering we came fairly early. You place your order at the counter, and find a seat inside or on the side patio. The wait for the burrito overall took about 15-20 mins as there were quite a number of folks before us. The price is a bit high for a regular-sized breakfast burrito, but nonetheless, I'm still glad I got to try it. Since my friend and I were on a breakfast burrito run that morning, we split the chorizo and egg burrito. The filling was tasty and came with potatoes, and the overall flavor was very delicious. I also loved the honey chipotle and chilantro (aioli?) cream that added to the flavor profile. My only qualm with the burrito was that it wasn't wrapped well. Ugh it's been weeks since I had the Cali burrito from Sobuneh and my heart already aches for its return. Generous amount of avocado, perfectly warm n crunchy tater tots, surprisingly juicy steak, etc etc. $20 may seem like a devious price for a breakfast burrito but this thing is more filling than it looks! I had to fight with all my might to finish the last few bites and felt sooo big and bulbous afterwards. One thing I seriously missed about LA was the breakfast burritos so when I came back to visit a friend, I knew I just had to make sure I got my fix. Seating is pretty limited but usually there's quick turnover so by the time you get your order you'll most likely have found a spot so long as you're proactive enough. Btw with each breakfast burrito you get to pick between either honey chipotle aioli or cilantro-lime aioli. I got the honey chipotle and my friend got the other one so we both got to try both. We went there on a Sunday wanting breakfast burritos and honestly the price for the size of the burrito was not worth it. We got the Sig burrito the taste was good and the cilantro sauce was not bad but the price was just not it. If you like paying more for small burrito then this is your spot! We asked for light ice on our coffees and they asked us if it was okay to not have the cup filled all the way or to add more milk so our cup would be full which I've never heard before. We were forced to ask for more milk and the coffee just tasted like milk because we asked for light ice. The place was pretty unprofessional handled because they handed our food to another person and they realized it was a mistake. Our food was opened by another person and they didn't even do anything about it, they just apologized. The space was a real issue too! No one could walk around, everyone would just push each other around to get a spot. I understand they had limited space but I think they could handle the situation of the seating better by making people wait in line until a place opened up to be seated or something. I heard about this place every now and then on social media so after looking for breakfast burritos, I wanted to give this place a try. And oh boy, is everyone at this place super super kind. When I arrived and walked through the path to get to the order window, I was greeted with a friendly hello. At the counter, we had a conversation about what the best choice of burritos would be, filled with genuine kindness. Even when the food arrived, I was told a sauce I ordered wasn't available and offered a free tea in lieu of the sauce not being available. It was a really great way to start the morning and kept me feeling uplifted the entire day. You don't really find that too often when you go to any type of restaurant, so I felt that alone was worth the experience in and of itself. When picking out what burrito to get, I was told the bb burrito was the person who took my order's favorite, so I gave that a try. I loved how rich and creamy the burrito was, how the hash browns had so much texture and crunch, and how the beef bacon pulled it all together. The addition of the pickled onions really was a nice touch as well. The chamomile tea from sadaf was really good too. The ambiance is nice. They have a complimentary water station with really cold water, alongside an outdoor patio with a decent amount of seats. If you're early enough, you can hear the birds chirping away too. Sobuneh invited the neighboring stores to their soft opening and I'm so glad I went! It's right across from my workplace, which is dangerous in the best way. I've been paying $8 for matcha elsewhere that honestly tastes awful... but their ceremonial grade matcha? SO good. Smooth, rich, and actually worth it. I'll definitely be coming weekly for my fix. The breakfast burrito is HUGE and delicious -- easily shareable and super filling. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and happy to give recommendations. I've been to Sobuneh's ghost kitchen before, but this was our first time at their new West Hollywood location. The location itself is great, but the overall experience was a bit mixed. The food was honestly really good. With my current dietary restrictions, it was such a win to find a spot that offers a gluten free vegetarian breakfast burrito. My husband got their steak burrito, and he still thinks their Class B with beef bacon is the best. Safe to say, the burritos did not disappoint. The sauces, though, were a completely different story. The cilantro lime was super watery and way too heavy on the lime and jalapeño. It was really off and honestly kind of ruined the balance of the burrito. The chipotle aioli was better, but still not as consistent as what we've had from their ghost kitchen. We ended up tossing both, which was disappointing.Tater tots were fire as always. Perfectly crispy across the board, no complaints there. We also tried their café drinks for the first time, and that was such a nice surprise. I got the Persian iced matcha with Earl Grey, and it's easily one of my new favorites. Super flavorful and you can tell the matcha quality is there. That said, a few hours after eating, both my husband and I started feeling really off in a way that wasn't typical for us. This was the only meal we had that day, so it stood out and left us a bit uneasy. Now the biggest downside: the seating situation. It's honestly chaotic and kind of frustrating to watch. There's no system, and people just hover and jump on tables the second they open up. We saw a family clearly waiting get passed over by another couple who swooped in and grabbed a table mid-transition. It just creates a really unpleasant vibe. I never order burritos at trendy cafes/lunch spots in the city as I'm more of the type to prefer a bagel or avocado toast for reference. THE SIG 10/10: Oh my fricking goodness. I'm not the biggest fan of burritos BUT this one is so good. Yes, it is a bit on the pricier side but this is the kind of burrito you think about and crave and you treat yourself to it when you have been on your A game. Let me start by saying everyone that works here is so incredibly kind. The environment here is welcoming and lovely. It is a small space but they offer some tables outside to sit at with some umbrellas for shade and some water for everyone. I ordered the BB burrito and added avocado with the honey chipotle Aioli and cilantro-lime Aioli and a Sonnati Latte (Matcha). I will start by reviewing the matcha. It was good and sweet, it tasted like a sweet treat...best way to describe it is it felt as if I was drinking melted ice cream. For a sweet drink? Yummy! For a matcha? I prefer creamier and a stronger matcha taste, the drink didn't make it on my list of best matchas I've ever had so I'm okay with passing next time. My friend got their vanilla latte with their cloud cream top, it was a big too bitter for her and will be trying another signature latte next time. Now...their burrito was yummy. The tots were crispy, the eggs were creamy, great amount of cheese, the beef bacon was not too overpowering in terms of being too chewy or thick. The ratio of all ingredients was balanced and both aioli sauces were great! I suggest getting both sauces. So, this place is good...if you can find out. Söbuneh is a new breakfast burrito place on Melrose, a few blocks East of La Cienega. It's actually their second location; the first is on Santa Monica Blvd, not far from the 405. I ordered what they call "The BB," which, the menu says, consists of "pasture-raised organic eggs, beef bacon, cheddar, chives, tater tots, and honey chipotle aioli served with pickled onions." Though the pickled onions come separately. You can also ask to add avocado, which I did (and recommend for reasons I'll get into momentarily). Their breakfast burritos also come with a choice of sauces: cilantro-lime aioli or honey chipotle aioli. I went for the latter; haven't like the former when I've had it at other places. Regardless, "The BB" was really good. The eggs were light and fluffy, the tater tots were crunchy, it had big pieces of fresh avocado, and the tortilla was nicely toasted and seemed to be fresh. As for a beverage, I had an ice latte, which was heavier than I expected, more espresso-y than milky, unlike a lot of places. That said, it was a little small. Though only a little. As for the place itself, it was clean and had a handful of tables in a little courtyard, with more upstairs under a covering. So maybe don't go when it rains. I also found the staff to be friendly and attentive, and my food came out in a reasonable amount of time: clearly long enough that they made it fresh, but not so long that I was wondering what the heck was taking so long. Now, this is, as I said, Melrose near La Cienega, so it was mostly metered street parking. And while I easily found a spot at 11AM on a Wednesday, I could see it being tougher around, say, noon. It was also not easy to find the place itself. It really is a little hole in the wall. Or, more accurately, a long hallway. Though, to be fair, once I parked, and was on foot, it wasn't hard to find; it was more that it was hard to find when I was driving down Melrose, half looking for it, and half looking for parking. In fact, the only thing that was at all difficult about Söbuneh were the napkins. They were kind of small and thin. Had to grab a lot, especially after I started in on the honey chipotle aioli sauce. All in all, I really good place to get a breakfast burrito. read more

I went with a group of friends and we tried so the burritos -- including the veg, the Cali, and the sig -- and every single one delivered. You can tell there's real intention behind the ingredients and how everything is layered. The burritos are packed but not messy, flavorful without being overwhelming. Nothing feels thrown together -- it all tastes thoughtful and high quality. The tater tots are next level. Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and seasoned just right. They're not just a side -- they're something you specifically go back for. The sauces deserve recognition too. Each one adds something different and elevates the whole meal. We kept reaching for more. The drinks were excellent -- refreshing, well-balanced, and actually crafted with care. And the location is a huge plus. I found out about Sobuneh after seeing a reel proclaiming they had one of LA's best breakfast burritos so I decided to drop by and find out. I ordered their Sig breakfast burrito and I thought it was a solid 8/10. It's definitely better than Wake and Late's given they're the same price. I found Wake and Late's burrito's to be pretty mediocre. The sig was very flavorful and just the right size to where I wasn't feeling full but left content. There were a few cons during my visit in that they take a REALLY long time. I probably waited a good 40 minutes for my burrito even though there were only 6 people ahead of people in line. Their burrito's are also pricey but I guess the neighborhood justifies it as I noticed they tend to draw in a certain demographic so that was the least of my concern. But what irked me the most during my visit was how small their space was, and it probably goes overlooked but when you're waiting and standing in a small corner for 40 minutes waiting for your burrito it becomes evident. Everything from the long narrow hallway entrance to the makeshift "waiting area" across from the order window, to the small patio dining hangout area. It's CRAMPED. The tables they have are super close to each other so you're literally shoulder to shoulder with strangers and don't really have any personal space. When I finally received my burrito after 40 minutes i immediately sat down at a table that freed up to eat it only to find out that it was lukewarm to cold which was disappointing. Although their burrito was flavorful (I can only imagine how much better it would have tasted warm) I don't see myself coming here again. They also need a better loudspeaker. I did see that they had their soft opening February 2026 so it seems like they are fairly new. The actual place is very small and you will have to wait in line twice, maybe three times. You wait in line to place your order, then you wait in line to pick up your drink, and once your food is ready, you wait in another line.
