I met a friend here for a late lunch on a Sunday. We arrived around 1:30 PM and had no problem getting a table, but I hear there is a wait during peak hours! There is also free parking underground in the building! We started by splitting a bottle of Brut ($28) which came with 2 juices to mix. I'd probably skip the guava next time... it came as a super thick puree that didn't mix into the bubbly, even with stirring. But they offered orange, cranberry, grapefruit, lychee, and others I'm sure I'm forgetting! The food menu and drink menus were great, with almost an overwhelming number of options. I decided on the shrimp and ricotta frittata, my friend ordered the jambalaya, and we split the house-baked coffee cake. You can upgrade anything with bacon to include Jurassic Pork (thick-cut bacon cooked in brown sugar) so why not? Everything was beautifully presented and tasted delicious, and the portions were large. I loved the little details on everything... egg-shaped salt and pepper shakers and cute little chickens on my side dish of sour cream. We also noticed that the servers were all super nice, attentive, and they just seemed to enjoy working there and to be having fun. One of them recommended bars we could go to after they closed, and we saw a group of them hanging out at the same bar. We just picked up on good vibes overall. Chicken fennel sausage omelette - I was a little underwhelmed, won't lie. A little bland for my taste despite the peppers and seasoned sausage. Tried this place for the first time. We went for brunch. It's a nice little spot. Theres free parking in the building and seating inside as well as outside. I ordered the Bae Mac with scrambled eggs, jack cheese and Jurassic Pork. The Jurassic Pork was salty/sweet but I would probably have it again but by itself. In the land of good brunches that is Culver City, this place is pretty good. My friends and I have come here twice. It definitely gets crowded on Sundays. Luckily we've never had to wait more than 30 minutes. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. I like the variety of breakfast options on their menu. Portions, at least for their more signature dishes, are pretty substantial-- the couple next to me at the bar ordered three (chilaques, I think a strawberry pancake stack, and omelet) that were massive. As they had space at the bar I was able to bypass the wait for a table immediately, not sure how long that wait would have been? I went for more reasonable, a normal stack of pancakes and some eggs-- pricing on both was surprisingly reasonable, and quality was good. I ordered the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. For breakfast, I got the American, three eggs, house potatoes, bread, and your choice of sausage or bacon. I went with the chicken fennel-Asiago sausage and it was really good. We asked about the pancake options and were told we could substitute them for the bread, but didn't realize there would be an extra charge, so a little more transparency there would help. Service was friendly, though it felt a bit rushed even though it wasn't too busy. The atmosphere is welcoming and it's a great spot if you're craving breakfast. Parking can be tricky. Street parking is limited, but the Culver Garage about two blocks away offers the first hour free. The San Diegans did it again. Coming up north with their crazy ass breakfast spots and big ol' diabetic pancakes and inspiring sporty slogans. Really can't go wrong with this place if you have visitors in the area looking to satisfy their severely sweet tooth. Honestly i am a savory girl so I like getting a breakfast platter (get the Portuguese sausage as a substitute you'll thank me later) or my tried and true chilaquiles. Drinks? Bottomless coffee and cafe de olla! (I still think the cafe de olla is too sweet, so try half and half). The ube latte is overrated imo. They also have a small bar and they really push to try their prosecco if you're into that too. Seats are outside as well as inside. They have heated lamps for those brisk mornings. Not much cover from rain or sun though. Inside gets super loud btw, perfect for your screaming toddlers like mine! I felt like this meal took FOREVER to come out. I get that it's cooked fresh (I hope), but felt it was an excessively long wait time. People that sat down after us were getting their food. The good thing is it's surrounded by other shops, so we just wandered around and window-shopped until our table was ready. I came on a Saturday, but we placed a reservation ahead of time and it said 30min wait, however upon arrival, they told us it would be 1 hour and 30 minutes for a party of 7. I tried Breakfast Republic today and overall had a really great experience! I ordered the chilaquiles, and while they're not your typical super traditional Mexican style, I genuinely enjoyed them. Every bite stayed crunchy and the tortilla chips never got soggy even though they were drenched in sauce. Flavor-wise and presentation-wise, they absolutely delivered. We also tried the tres leches pancakes. They were definitely on the sweeter side, but the presentation was beautiful and they're perfect if you have a sweet tooth. The jalapeño sausage omelette was also very tasty. One thing this place does really well is portion sizes and presentation everything looked amazing and felt worth it. If I had to mention one small critique, I'd say the side potatoes could use a bit more seasoning and I personally wish they were a little crispier, but that's just preference. For drinks, we had the café de olla, which was good but I wish it was slightly sweeter. The strawberry lemonade was delicious though! I went to Breakfast Republic on a Friday for lunch, and having breakfast for lunch on a calm Friday afternoon was very comforting. The restaurant is situated in a nice area and it has several windows which allows plenty of sunlight in, which I love. I ordered the breakfast veggie tostadas, and my friend and I splurged on a full champagne bottles for mimosas. They have different flavored mimosas and we could pick more than one of the flavors to mix into our champagne. I picked guava and my friend selected the mango chamoy option. The guava was a concentrated syrup that I could made to my champagne and the mango was more like a concentrated juice. Both were delicious additions to the champagne. The tostadas came with black beans, egg, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese. It was a delicious combination of flavor that was still light so I didn't feel too weighed down after lunch. The plate also came with a generous portion of diced breakfast potatoes. I couldn't finish them because there were so many, but they were a fun addition to the plate. It came with house potatoes, basically small fried potato cubes. The food was fine, nothing special. I suppose the hollandaise sauce was a mildly buttery style. I also got a side of their Jurassic Pork, thick sliced pork, prepared like bacon. It was very good with a sweet preparation. My dining partner got the loaded mashed potato omelet and thought it was great. That also came with those fried potato cubes. When our food arrived in about 15 minutes and I saw the potatoes I asked for ketchup, our server brought a small container. By then I figured out there was Breakfast Republic branded ketchup on the table, thin off colored stuff that was still fine. This is such a fun brunch spot! I love the chicken decor & merch and overall fun vibe this place has. The waitress was awesome and attentive. I came here with some friends to celebrate a birthday. There are no reservations, so getting a table really depends on timing. Service felt slow, and it took a while before our order was taken. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations.
