Ok..... just stop in your tracks right now!!! My wife turned to me tonight and said, let's go to Prime Burger Bar. I want a great burger. Upon arriving, I could not have been greeted by a nicer staff. Everyone was the Mr. Rogers of hospitality. So amazingly pleasant. From hostess, to waiter, to manager. (OMG they got it right). Then came the food. This is where I stopped in my tracks...... really, you can make a simple burger taste like fine dining???it was truly as amazing as the staff. No Bullshit!!! This place is so real! They are great and food was great. (Do you think I was pleased?? Are you getting this?) I have absolutely no ties to this restaurant other than to say.... Thank you for making my evening special. You guys rock!!!! read more

Love the outdoor eating option. Would suggest getting here early especially for the weekend. You do have to first go in to see the hostess but it did look like they moved her outside since today was a nice hot day out. They have a pretty large menu and something for everyone. We started off with the Bavarian pretzel. It comes with a spicy mustard, honey mustard, and beer cheese. The cheese ceased up quickly but it was good! The pretzel can come unsalted if you ask. We made our own burger and then had the lobster Mac and cheese. The burger was good but careful with the bacon jam- it was much sweeter than anticipated and overtook the complete taste of the burger. We did love the garlic aoli that the French fries came with. The lobster Mac and cheese was good. A fair amount of Mac and cheese to lobster ratio. It seems like it would not be filling but trust me it is. We decided to top it off with a sweet and salty milkshake. Trust me- it was more than enough to share! I could not imagine getting my own unless it was the only thing I came for. There was even life music! Great experience. All servers are wearing masks and they have a sign that you must wear a mask indoors unless sitting read more

Great food, service and atmosphere. The staff is really friendly and goes the extra mile. The food is fresh (homemade salad dressing !) and prices are good. All good. read more

This is place is a great find. The burgers are the best I've had at any restaurant, better than the other local places like Jackson's and the service is helpful, friendly and attentive. My friends and I had the cheese burger and fries which were delicious on the luncheon menu also coleslaw and well priced. Don't forget to try their homemade coleslaw it's great. Also the price even gets more economical if you sit at the bar during happy hour. I'll definitely be going back. read more

Came here for the first time tonight. I personally wanted to keep it light so I ordered a chocolate milkshake ($7) and classic Poutine ($11.95), the other two people with me ordered burgers with fries and onion rings. Where do I begin... The chocolate milkshake was the most watery milkshake I've ever had...it tasted like water with whipped cream on top. It was not thick and icy at all or creamy. The poutine was served cold and the fries tasted like they were old. Both of my friends said their burgers were undercooked and cold in the middle and the bread wasn't toasted and the beers they ordered were warm. Among the few redeeming qualities of this experience was that our waiter was nice and welcoming. The girl expediting the food from the kitchen wore her hair down which was a little unsettling, as no one wants hair in their food. The atmosphere was dark and gave an old pub vibe which I didn't mind. Overall this place was disappointing and I wouldn't eat here again. I wish we went to Five Guys. *** the bill was $92 read more

My kid's face lights up when we walk into this place- the burgers are excellent and the shakes are awesome! Great service, everyone was super nice. Tables are space far apart with dividers for covid safety. Will keep coming back read more

I've been doing outdoor dining here during COVID - and the food is just as good as ever! The Giant Bavarian Pretzel is great as an appetizer and the short rib poutine is great too especially if you're a fan of salty flavors. The fire island burger has a good amount of spice - not too mild and not too hot. My ultimate favorite from here is the Baja chicken sandwich! read more

Great menu, great happy hour prices, great food and nice employees Very friendly place, burgers are delicious Wings outrageous, great selection of beers n happy hour drink Worth a trip! read more

We ate here a few times pre-pandemic and really enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere (which was kind of bustling and loud, something that didn't always thrill me pre COVID-19, but that I would give a kidney to get back.) We have ordered curbside pickup twice since the lockdown. We got the family meal deals. This is a great great value. Between the 2 orders, we tried the boneless wings and mac and cheese appetizers, garden salad which was enormous and burgers and chicken sandwiches. We really enjoyed our meals and will definitely order again. read more

First time trying this place tonight! Ordered off of a delivery service so I was prepared for some of a let down (e.g soggy fries, cooked a touch too far from being steamed in the container), but I gotta say I'm very impressed by the quality of food that I got. Ordered a build your own burger (basically did a run-of-the-mill cheese burger, boneless hot wings, and the regular poutine. The burger was cooked well, was nice and juicy, and was served on a tasty pretzel bun with fresh ingredients. I chose onion rings on the side and they arrived crispy and hot as if I'd just ordered them in the restaurant. Boneless wings were a little tough, but a nice portion. Poutine- Out. Of. This. World. Gravy was delicious, cheese curds were melted nicely, and they definitely didn't skimp on the portion. Overall, a little pricy at first glance, but DEFINITELY worth it. Can't wait to order again and eventually visit post COVID. read more

We just had 7 burger entrees, as well as assorted apps "TO GO" Burgers were excellent, their sweet potato and house cut fries were delicious!!!! They do have outdoor/indoor dining but we took ours home Their milkshakes looked unbelievable as well read more

Was so excited when saw there was a new burger place in town, as we have far too many chain burger restaurants in the area. Results: Burger = meat was good but as others have said the bacon and cheese was skimped. Didn't even come with lettuce and tomato? Mac & cheese = I've cooked enough to know when something has been reheated. In this case it was exceedingly apparent - our Mac and cheese was sitting in a bath of oil. Was possibly good when fresh? Chicken = not sure you could over-cook it any more, and this statement is coming from someone who routinely asks me to overcook chicken. Fries = Soggy. Unfortunately another item that was likely good when fresh. Thinking these were also made awhile back and reheated. It's very possible the quarantine hurt the business/freshness and if so that sucks, but nobody wants to spend $60 on a burger meal then leave wishing you had gone to Wendy's instead. Truly wish you luck with the business and hope this feedback helps improve the product - fresh is key. read more

Sam was the quintessential hostess. Attentive and kind. The bar is quaint and comfortable. The food was delish! I enjoyed my Tex Mex burger since I'm a big avo fan! My hubs ordered the Great South Bay, which he thoroughly enjoyed with a side of onion rings. Onion rings had a 'kicked up' dip that was enjoyed by the whole family. Bacon on bacon and BBQ were the other favorites enjoyed by our two sons. No room for dessert! However, there's always next time! read more

This was our first time here as we had been driving past it for months and finally had time to stop. They have a cute outdoor dining section set up under a big tent with live outdoor music and entertainment. Our server, Jessica, was awesome and continued to be awesome even after the restaurant lost their power! Of course, it was not their fault and we were thankful that our food had finished cooking when the power went out. All the food we had was great although I would've been interested in trying one of their delicious-looking milkshakes so I'm looking forward to going back and getting to try more! read more

My quest for a juicy burger has finally been accomplished! Finally after much seeking and tasting I've found it! Prime burger bar I love you and your juicy burgers! They have an extensive menu of your bar favs, burgers, Mac & cheese, sammies and deserts, more on that later. Wine, beer and cocktails. The staff was very friendly and even though there were TVs and music you could converse and hear. I had a dogfish head 60 min IPA and opted for their proprietary blend on a challah bun with American cheese & pickles, that's all I need plus a little ketchup. First bite in and I was overjoyed! It was juicy, and flavorful everything I was looking for! With a side of house cut fries...aaah I was happy. Now they have these huge shakes and a brownie sundae, well I was with my sister and she says no meal is complete without desert, so bring on the brownie sundae! Yum o yum o yum! She said it's her favorite and she would know! It was nice to see a mix of families with kids, people at the bar and tables. I can't wait to go back! read more

This was my first time here and the burger was absolutely delicious. Service was great. I just wish the burger was wider rather than taller because I could barely get a bite. read more

Where to begin? Fresh, clean smelling. Well lit. Just the right amount of TVs. No games today, but still. Comfortable seating in the bar area, then a back area that's more kid friendly. Service (Matt) was responsive, eager, and attentive. My little one had special requests. They were met. The big one had detailed questions about one of the shakes. They were answered. 15 carefully curated burgers, lots of choices of meat (proprietary, added bacon, Kobe, beyond meat). A make your own burger option, but I will never get there. 3 kinds of fries. All great. Burgers cooked to order and delicious. Stylized $15 shakes were awesome. Don't judge me. It was my birthday. The manager seemed genuinely interested in helping. He brought my daughter a double side of pickles. Even the pretzel appetizer was awesome. Sometimes it's hard to write a long review. Not this time! Way to go. read more

Delicious burgers, the Merlot sauce is amazing. Went in to order and my food came out fast. The young girl at the register was nice and accommodating. The burgers are a little too big so it's hard to fit the entire thing in your mouth lol but so tasty! read more

The food is great here! The burgers are tasty so are the chicken sandwiches and the salads. They have pretty good milkshakes also!

All around great experience. Service was excellent. The burgers were all juicy and delicious while not making the Buns soggy. Pretzel appetizer with the cheese dip was great. The sweet and Salty milkshake at the end could only be described as an event. It was all wonderful and I will absolutely be back. read more

Went with my family, the food was mediocre. Nothing to go out of your way for. The Burger was incredibly salty and the fries were average. My sons chicken sandwich was good and my wife's salad was just plain, ordinary, cheap ingredients. I would not recommend or go back. read more

Tried Prime Burger Bar with hoping for a Wow. We sat at the bar first. Nice selection of tap and wines. Only complaint was the gentleman behind the bar was not the happiest bar tender. He was kurt and not very friendly. Not the happiest guy. We were also surprised the glass they serve wine in. Burgers were good but not great. The fries were homemade and very good. We left saying the burger was good but we didn't get that excitement that we cant way to go back. Theirs is a good burger which we have all over. We wanted to be wow read more

Nice addition to the neighborhood. My husband wanted to watch the football game on Sunday so we sat at the bar. All appetizers are $6.00 during happy hour on Sunday. We had the Fried White Cheddar Cheese curds and the Giant Bavarian pretzel for appetizers. Both were excellent. And the pretzel is giant! My husband had the Fire island burger, which is a little spicy. He loved it. I had the Ahi tuna burger. Which was outstanding. The tuna was very fresh, which is extremely important when it comes to tuna. Great fries too. The bartender was very accommodating and efficient and very friendly. We'll definitely be back. read more

Did a take out order last night. Everyone was very nice there. So I know the burgers cook a little in the to go box but they were bit overdone. My wife wanted her cheese burger on a lettuce bun but instead she got a overdone dry burger which they forgot the cheese and then gave her lettuce tomato and onion but never did the actual lettuce bun. Fries were very good and my great South Bay burger was good though bit overdone! read more

When this place first opened it was great but the last few times I have been coming here the food is not fresh and it kills my stomach after. The food is super gooddd but this is the second time I've been there for take out, and the second time they've messed up my order. Both times I repeated my order back and it was still wrong. It's expensive here so if I'm gonna pay $20 for a burger I'd like it to at least be correct. They forgot a few things on my burger and I asked if the burger came with fries and they said yes and I said can I just get a side of cheese sauce for the fries then they asked loaded fries I said no just cheese sauce and they gave and charged me a whole extra side of fries that I didn't want. read more

Finally a great burger place in Commack. I was beginning to think that you couldn't get a rare burger in America any more. I swear I was close to giving up buying a burger out since they are all lifeless patties. I went with 3 other people & everyone said their burger was delicious & juicy. My onion rings were also excellent as were the loaded fries that we tried. The waitress was super solicitous. She ensured that we knew what the restaurant's was all about & gave us a rundown of the menu. She checked on us several times. Of course, you get what you pay for. So - don't expect a great burger at a cheap price. However, this place hits the sweet spot in Commack. You get great quality food at reasonable prices when you compare what it would to eat at competitors. I highly recommend Prime Burger & it will be part of my regular rotation now. read more

This review is overdue, but we have been to Prime a few times and have had a consistent positive experience. The burgers are out of this world, and other food selections are good too (love the brussell sprout app). Great service, as we have only encountered the most welcoming and friendly people. It's a good crowd too, mixed with families, small gatherings of all ages. Great bar service too! read more

Saturday was my first time at this establishment. After seeing the News12 segment I just had to give this a try and boy did it not disappoint! We arrived at about 6pm and the place was already hopping. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar as there was a 30 min wait for a seat. So glad we made the choice to sit at the bar! Scott, our bartender was hands down the most entertaining and attentive bartender we've ever met. We were immediately greeted by Scott and took our orders promptly. He kept us laughing while we waited for our food. THE FOOD! the lobster Mac and cheese was to die for. LARGE CHUNKS of lobster!! Did I mention the lobster?? Wow! We also had the Great South Bay burger cooked medium rare. If you are not familiar with this burger, braised short ribs top off this perfectly cooked burger. AMAZING! We can't wait to return not only for the food but for the entertainment provided by our new favorite bartender, Scott! read more
