Prezza is outstanding in my opinion. I took my husband out for a weekend in Boston for his birthday, and we decided to do dinner at Prezza. Reservation times were perfect, we got seated 10 minutes before our time. Seating was a bit tight, we shared a tight area with an unfortunate annoying duo. Waitress and bussboys were pretty aggressive, as soon as you took a bite they were on you like a vulture on roadkill, but I guess you could call that attentiveness. Food was absolutely to die for. I had the mushrooms risotto for an app... It was cooked perfectly, so creamy and delicious. Tough part is its a good sized portion so I was close to full after eating it. For my entree I had the special... Which fortunately I was informed I got the final one of the evening (mind you it was only 630 so if you want the special come early). The special for that particular evening was prime rib with Yukon mashed potatoes. Steak was cooked perfectly, good portion size and just about melted in your mouth. Potatoes were yummy also, well seasoned and creamy. The dessert menu looked superb unfortunately I was far too full to indulge in. Prices were a Lil high for our incomes, but on a nice occasion I'd totally go back anytime and recommend it to anyone looking for a great dinner in the north end. read more

I love the North End of Boston--arguably the best Little Italy in the USA. This is a beautiful restaurant perfect for all occasions except very large parties. I had the Raviolini appetizer made with Rock Shrimp and corn. For my main course I had Lobster Fra Diavolo which was wonderfully spicy and well prepared. This place is a block off of Hanover, and a real find. I cannot wait to return. read more

Oh Prezza, how I love you! I went here last night and got a seat at the bar with my bf. I have always sat in the dining room and was kind of skeptical about sitting at the bar for dinner but it was great! The bartender Lisa was outstanding and very friendly. We started with the short ribs and half order of pumpkin lobster ravioli both wonderful. I had the crispy pork chop stuffed with fontina cheese, yum! For dessert (oh yes I order dessert) I had the tiramisu parfait which is a must! All in all you can't go wrong when ordering at Prezza! The atmosphere and food is always superb! read more

Definitely my favorite "nice" Italian restaurant in the North End. The service is great, and the food is amazing. The atmosphere is trendy without being snooty, which is a hard balance to achieve. I had the gnocci with lamb, which was wonderful. I would say that their wine list is one of the tops in Boston, not just for Italian restaurants but for all Boston restaurants. My only complaint: they charged us for bread instead of having it free like every other italian restaurant I've ever been to. read more

The best modern Italian restaurant in the North End. The dining is very comfortable and the round tables are great for large parties. The bar fun to eat at and has a nice tv to watch a game. The wine list is the best in the city and reasonably priced. The raviolies are my favorite and come in half sizes so you can order one of many apps and still be able to finish you entree. Welcome home! Quick background: born and raised in Fall River, MA and now residing in NYC for the past 12 years, I had the good fortune of getting together with my father (now residing in Miami) in Boston this past weekend. Dining in the North End was a no-brainer the only challenge was determining which establishment to eat at. Thanks to a colleague's suggestion, we ended up at Prezza and what a great call! Pre-Dinner: We arrived approx. an hour before our reservations. Started off the night with a fig martini (w/plums stuffed w/blue cheese) that was phenomenal. Just the right balance between sweet and strong. Dinner: Per the waiter's suggestion, I started with the Wood Grilled Squid & Octopus which was hearty and extremely flavorful. My father started with the Sweet Gem Lettuce (plain, but fresh nonetheless). For my entree, I had the Chestnut Ravioli with Duck Confit, cooked perfectly and bathing in a pleasantly, rich sauce with shards of tender duck meat. The father had the Tagliatelle w/lamb ragu which he raved about as well. Service: our waiter was perfect in every aspect. Provided solid recommendations upon request, was extremely efficient and very pleasant. Thanks for making our homecoming memorable! Will certainly be back on our next visit. read more

Cannot understand why Prezza is not listed higher in rankings. It is a superb restaurant! Bruschetta, meatballs, tagliatelle bolognese and deserts: bread pudding and flourless chocolate cake were killer! Somebody has rigged the rankings algorithms! Prezza is underwhelming with all the other options available in North End. Yes it is quaint but for the price (quite pricey), the food was unimpressive. Neptune Oyster was far better. I had the swordfish with white beans which basically tasted like overcooked fish in pork and beans. My husband had the bone in pork chop which was decent. The bread pudding was the saving grace from two stars but if your dessert is the best thing on the menu.... not a must. read more

I just went the other week. I can't believe I have never been to this place before. Just when you think you've hit all the good places, not that there are many bad places in the North End. Hands down one of the best places in the neighborhood, and that's coming from an Italian. Their menu has quite a variety depending on your mood. The appetizers were creative & delicious. For the main course I actually got the sirloin, which isn't typical for me at an Italian restaurant. My wife got this halibut dish that was probably the best have ever tasted. I was happy she couldn't finish her food because then I got to enjoy surf & turf, ha!! Needless to say if you are looking for a new place to try in the North End then give this place a shot. Dont you love dinning when money is not an issue and extravagence is in? Me too! I heart Work Dinner's. We started with a bottle of White-Gavi, i ordered the spicy shrimp for apps, omg! a meal in itself. They were these jumbo shrimp fried in batter. My entree was scallops so yum, and dessert..sigh was cheesecake. Other food that i sampled on the table was lobster pumpkin raivioli,delish rissotto , creme bulee, another two bottle of red wine, sambucca and expresso. Yes this was a completly deccadent dinner. For once, i wanted to wear one of those elastic waist band pants. The atmosphere was ofcourse very north end. Nice elegant dinning area. Lot of suit types out for dinner. It was a week day. Prezza is special. I really couldn't find anything to complain about (and that is sometimes hard for me!). The menu was creative and exciting. I could hardly decide! We started off with their Beef Tartare with white truffle aioli and porcini mushrooms. All of the flavors sang together and what was a beautiful harmony in my mouth. We followed that appetizer up with the lobster arrancini with butternut squash/brown butter/sage mash. The arrancinis didn't actually have lobster in it. Rather, the lobster was served on top of the mash. Delicious chunks of the hot fresh lobster! Since I overdid it on the bread and apps, I went for the half portion of the gnocchi bolognese. Both gnocchi and bolognese are risks for me. I have had some of the best bolognese...so yours is going to have to be damn good to please this one! I also have a fear of gnocchi. I wanted to go out afterwards and have some cocktails. Gnocchi can sometimes turn out to be a gutt bomb! These were light and delicious. The sauce was brown and flavorful. I regretted not ordering the full portion because I would be eating the leftovers for lunch right now! read more

I probably would not dine here again. The food is just ok, and the service is terrible. The waiter we had was incredibly strange and not helpful at all. He didn't ask anyone in my party if we needed refills on our drinks the whole night and was unable to make recommendations from the menu. I don't mind paying top dollar for a nice meal in the city, but I do mind when the food is mediocre and the service is less than ideal. read more

Sat at the bar last night for a bottle of wine and dessert. We ordered the Qupe Syrah (fantastic...) and tried the bread pudding and italian cheese plate. It was relatively quiet being a Sunday night but the bar was still full of people who clearly love this place. We met some very cool neighborhood locals, including one couple who shared some of their wine with us. Good scene and very unexpected. bread pudding was yummy but I was more interested i the cheese plate, especially the sharp, tangy blue. Ah-may-zing. Must eat again. read more

Food was delicous but was too pricy for such small plates. We ordered the full portion of the Potato Gnocchi with Lobster Meat ($36) and the Swordfish ($34). My gnocchi was such little food, considering its high price. Ended up here because of someone else's decision, a friend's friend. I don't believe in paying twice as much for half the portion of food compared to all the other restaurants in the North End. My dish looked like a lot because each gnocchi was separated on a flat long plate, barely any lobster, probably a quarter part of a small lobster. The other dish was a decent piece of swordfish, with more tomatoes in the saice than the fregola (pasta) sprinkled on it and two small baby octopus. Recommend it to people willing to pay a lot for a little bit of food. read more

Everything we got was delicious. The egg ravioli's were out of this world. Portions were very good sized and not too outrageously priced. Perfect place for a special occasion meal. The restaurant was a bit on the smaller end, so our party of 8 definitely was a squish, but it was a very intimate spot. read more

Absolutely thrilled with this restaurant. The service, very clean atmosphere, impeccable food and extensive drink offerings. Great reason to dine off Hanover. Many places in the north end offer delicious italian specialties; Prezza surprises you with extra care to make every bite unique. We dined here on a Saturday night with no reservations we were greeted so politely and enjoyed the most delicate ricotta egg yolk ravioli, perfectly cooked fish and a plate of meatballs and sausage that melted in our mouths. It is always nice to see an owner taking care to speak with guests and make sure everything is working smoothly we observed this happening at Prezza. . I am sure you won't be disappointed! read more

LOVELY place in my beloved NORTH END . I have been there a handful of times . I will keep this review to essentially 1 issue- it`s grossly overpriced. $12 for an arugala salad is ridiculous . most of the appetizers are $16- ridiculous . i have travelled all over the world . i am a very fair and enthusiastic reviewer of hotels, restaurants etc . PREZZA is a lively booming environment when ever i have been there . but service and food does not justify those prices . power to the owners that the clientele goes along with it and i wish them continued success. . i have been in BOSTON over 40 years . i know the town , to say the least . Overpriced and underwhelming. Skip this North End restaurant where portions are small and prices are high. The fish stew was relatively flavorless; frozen cioppino from Trader Joe's is far superior. The $15 "buffalo mozzarella" appetizer was a simple Caprese salad with only 3 total slices of tomato and cheese that our waiter claimed would be sufficient for a table of 3. The full serving of pasta was so small that I struggle to imagine what could be removed to make a half portion. Two stars only for the otherwise great service. read more

I went to Prezza with a party of 10 people and not one person was disappointed with their dish. Between appetizers, entres, deserts, and drinks, everyone was absolutely in gastronom heaven! My mom is a super-strict vegetarian with a mushroom allergy. She couldn't eat anythigno the menu, so they totally put something together for her on teh fly and it was absolutely delish! We had an excellent dinner seated at the bar and enjoyed a nice bottle of Super Tuscan. I had the mouth watering gnocci bolognese and my sister had the lobster pappardelle. The pappardelle left a little something to be desired but the app we shared more than made up for it. The rosemary toast with a fried egg and a generous mound of ultra delicate and fresh mushrooms seasoned to perfection was a very unique offering. I would definitely go back. Lemoncello martini was fabulous (prosecco)- bread, olive oil and olives amazing... the app with buccata (?) with speck (cheese with smoked proscuitto) was incredible (could have used more fava beans and peas- personal preference. The gnocchi was just okay, but the bolognese sauce was fabulous. I am inspired to make white beans with arugula at home. The bartender (we ate at the bar) was attentive, quick and very efficient. Checked out Prezza with a suggestion from a friend that lives in the area. The North End is really a very interesting area in Boston. You really get the feeling of Europe there with the narrow street, Italian flair, small shops, and of course all the Italian restaurants in the area. You can find Prezza in an alley off the main road. I was lucky to be seated right away. The restaurant itself is very small. There are table for two in high chairs/tables and lower booth type seatings. I tried the meatballs, sausage, and braised ribs in tomato sauce. It was delicious and it wasn't strongly seasoned so the taste of the tart tomatoes and meat comes through. I recommend this! I also recommend the white chocolate rice pudding cake that was delicious. I would recommend Prezza off my impressions of the food, which was top notch and the service, that was also very good. read more

We ordered the pear ravioli with rabbit in butter sauce, mushroom risotto, wood grilled octopus in tomato sauce, and a side of white beans in olive oil and arugula. The food was perfectly prepared and so flavorful, especially the pear ravioli - the brightness of the pear paired perfectly with the richness of the meat and butter. So why only 2 stars you ask? Yes the food is a solid 4 stars no doubt, but the service was terrible for a restaurant at this price point. A woman who brought by the dishes was curt and unfriendly. Not a smile or an introduction when she served the plates, and at point even used a plate that she is trying to serve to shove the little bread plate out of way. There was a little thump when she laid down the plates because she likely dropped the plates last half a centimeter to the table rather than laying it all the way down on the table, gently. The menu specifically said they are happy to serve the food "family style". All of the food we ordered were appetizers, half order, and side, so naturally we wanted to share them as small plates. When the waiter told us he was going to split the risotto for us, we gently declined but he said "we will split it for you so that we have space to serve the ravioli at the same time".. ok.. then when the split plate risotto and the single plate of ravioli came, we had three giant plate on our two person table, each was half full. Totally unnecessary and not exactly how we wanted to be served. Since when does the waiter's idea of service trumped that of the patron? I don't get it. Anyways food was great and memorable, but the service was not good enough for us to want to return for the pretty high price you pay. read more

Had a really good experience at Prezza. Got to the restaurant about a half hour ahead of the reservation time hoping to get in a bit early. No such luck so I sat in the bar area for the wait. I really liked the feel of the place. People seemed to be having fun. While there was a definite buzz of conversation going on, it wasn't annoyingly loud like in some restaurants where the sound seems to reverberate off the walls. When I got to my table I had a glass of chianti and ordered the Crispy Shrimp and the Chestnut Raviolini. I saw that one of the meals came with a lobster risotto and really wanted that for a side. Kudos to the server and the chef for making that happen! Very tasty too! The Crispy Shrimp a great start to the meal; big shrimp that were not too soft yet still well cooked. Great texture and taste, and the slaw and aioli mixed very well together with the shrimp. Would definitely get it again. The Chestnut Raviolini was also excellent, especially for those of you that are duck confit fans. Very flavorful meat, sauce and noodles. Sorry, didn't get dessert. Definitely would go back to Prezza for great food and service. read more

Beautifully appointed North End restaurant! The pre-dinner cocktails were served quickly and were delicious; a beer and a Moscow Mule served right from a copper cup. The food...simply outstanding. We had to expedite our experience because we were heading to the Bruins game, so our waiter had a cab waiting outside for us when we were ready to go. I love the atmosphere here. My boyfriend and I had claimed this as our new place to go for a couple of drinks in the North End and avoid the crowds on Hanover Street. The reason this review is only 3 stars is from my experience last Saturday night. The bill was $40.66. I put three $20 bills on the counter, knowing I wanted to have proper change to tip the bartender. The bartender took it upon himself to give me $19 in change - keeping the 34 cents for himself. So I took it upon myself to leave 1/2 the tip I would have left. Yes, I should have said something at the time, but I was speechless. Mr. Bartender, don't steal other people's money. read more

Prezza was absolutely fabulous! We arrived on a Saturday evening on time and our table for 4 was waiting for us. The service was impeccable. Our wait person, Eric was very attentive, despite being very busy. We actually had another gentlemen as well as a server and water person. The food was delicious. The zucchini flowers and roasted figs were fantastic. The Pear Ravioli - oh so yummy. My husband had Crispy Pork Chop he said was fabulous. Our friends both enjoyed something that is not on the menu at the moment. We all shared a little of our dinners and were just in heaven. We are anxious to return for another fabulous meal.
