Literally I am so disappointed in the behavior of the owners of this place. I have been having problems with my headlights and fog-lights since they were installed, and I have come back many many times and was super patient about it. My husband had his camera and headlights updated to LEDs on his truck, so then I decided to have mine updated as well. We spent $$$$ at this place. The original guy who installed them was John, an employee. Honestly, he was great. He helped me pick out which headlight bezels to buy and which LEDs to buy for the LED upgrade. He did the whole install and wiring. I did not mind paying good money for it. I came back a few weeks later to let him know that my High-beams were flickering, and sometimes wouldn't work. But I couldn't reproduce the problem while I was there so he told me to keep an eye on it and come back if it was still a problem. After a few weeks, the high-beams and fog-lights just stopped working altogether. I came back and John told me that he had cancer, so he was taking time off. I was like "Dude, totally fine. You take care of yourself. High-beams and fog-lights are not a critical problem. " Flash forward to 2 days ago... High-beams are still not working, my fog-lights are now stuck on and flickering even when the car is off, and now my headlights are flickering too. Now this is becoming a safety issue. I stopped by and one owner, the dad, was there. He was apologetic. He said that John was still out battling cancer, and that he himself didn't know how to do anything with install or electrical. He asked if I could come back the next day and maybe his son (the other owner) could take a look at it, but he told me that his son didn't really know how to do any of that stuff either. He could maybe help me unplug the fog-lights for now so that they wouldn't drain my battery. John was the only one who knew how to do anything. I came back the next day and the son was unbelievably rude, dismissive and condescending from the second I walked in. I told him that his dad told me to come back that day and asked if he could maybe come take a look at my car and give me his opinion. He flat out said "I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna even touch it. You need to go somewhere else. I don't know how to do any electrical, so I'm not even gonna do it" I was a little shocked. You won't even come out and take a look at it? Take a look at your own companies work? He said nope. "Don't you have a car guy around here? You need to take it to them." I said "You! You are my car guy! If I try and bring this car to someone else, the first thing they're going to tell me to do is take it back to the place that did the initial work, that's you! You seriously won't even step outside to come take a look at it and give me your professional opinion? I'm not even asking for a free service. I just pretty sure that there is a loose wire somewhere, and I want to make sure that my car is safe." He just said, "Take it to someone else." You had NO PROBLEM taking my money in the first place! I have been nothing but kind and patient. You are acting like a slimy prick! Now I know exactly what is going to happen when I take this to someone else, to fix the problem. They are going to ask me what happened when I took it back to the place who did the original work. And I am going to tell them that y'all basically told me to go f**k myself. Bottom line. If John is not at this place - don't bother going. They own a stereo and headlight shop, but don't actually know how to do any of the work themselves. First of all my fiancé purchased my faceplate, speakers, etc as Mother's Day gift. No weekend installs no problem. We got the system installed and I have to say it's literally JUNK! My stock system sounds way better. He nickel and dimed us. Long story short almost $1k later and the faceplate is defective, volume turns up and down by itself, sometimes doesn't want to play music. Glitch glitch glitch. The sound is horrendous. When I called the guy said he cannot give a refund, I would have to upgrade to get him to remove the system and pay for reinstalling. I told him I just want my stock stuff back because the stuff he sold me was no good. He basically said sorry you're outta luck. This isn't the way to conduct business especially when people are spending money. Makes me feel like he did a crappy job so we'd have to come back and upgrade. I do not recommend this business. You may as well take $1k and flush it slowly down the toilet so it doesn't clog up. No no no! RUN!! They will destroy your sound system cus either they're trying to make more money or just don't care cus they already made money. I now have to go to a REPUTABLE place to have my sound system fixed. You know those shops that you always hear about that will say anything to get you in and then hit you with "extra" pricing? Well this is the shop. I was going to make this short but after thinking about the way he treated me I won't hold back. I needed a basic radio install which I brought my own and he said this was a "piece of $hit". His words. He wanted to sell me on buying his stereos and that he owns some Alpine expensive stereo in his truck that he apparently never has time to use. Not sure his selling point but it was still rude. Not professional. I also had the steering wheel controls which I provided the adapter for. New in the box still. Last, I told him that I need to retain my factory back up camera. He says I can do it all and quotes me a price. I say okay. He says it will be done in about two hours. I gave him 4 hours. About 2 hours in he calls and says my factory camera cannot work with the new stereo. This turned out to not be true. A simple voltage adapter could have by passed this. I told him I needed this for a trip out of town and he is past his time frame and now he is telling me I have to pay more for something that he already promised he could do. He continued to sell me on different back up cameras. The quote he gave me over the phone was for everything we talked about including the camera. So that is what I agreed to. I get to the shop 4 hours after our first visit. I get there and he says he is not done. He says come back in 1 1/2hours. That's when they close! I said okay and came back before they closed. He said I am going to cancel the transaction for the original quote. I agreed. He then began to what I thought he was doing which was ring me up for my new total. What actually happened was he was charging me the original quote price and now the new price! More about that soon. So another worker takes me out to my car and shows me that he wired my camera to the right side. Wow great. But Isaac comes out and says oh your steering wheel controls don't work. You have to bring your car back so we can work on it more. MORE?! I said uh okay and left for my trip. So about the double charging. I called him immediately in the morning about this and he said I was paying for the original quote and the second charge was for the back up camera. What?! But that's not what we agreed upon Isaac. So now my steering wheel controls don't work. I double paid! And I have a camera that was not even necessary had they knew stereo work. (their wiring moved across my spare tire. Not clean work. He did not return my box for the steering wheel controls. I tried to dispute with my card but they were a credit union and did not follow chargeback laws. Had it been a major credit card then I would have got my double charge back. After all of this happened, would you trust them to go back? No. Not me. I am done with them. I just want to at least warn the next person who might need a stereo done and to avoid getting swindled like me. Please please stay away from this place. As far as knowing how to install car audio and electronic components, my skills are very limited. I would rather have someone else do the work than myself not connecting the right wires in the proper place. And after doing extensive research on Yelp for car stereo shops in the greater Sacramento area, I found this little gem in the Arden-Arcade area. Located directly on Fulton Ave., "Prestige Car Audio" is an impressive little shop that delivers quick service at reasonable prices. I called an hour in advance and asked if I could schedule a 5:00pm appointment on a Wednesday to have them install a stereo deck in my Honda Accord. The business owner was very polite and courteous on the phone as he was totally okay with me arriving an hour prior to closing time. I arrived at the shop at around 4:45pm. And I've got to say, their inventory and selection was quite impressive. I saw many different stereo decks to choose from. Many of them offer DVD, navigation, Bluetooth, and iPod/iPhone compatibility. Since I already own a GPS and have Bluetooth installed in my car, I opted for a basic Kenwood CD stereo deck. Luckily this deck also had a USB port (which is great for charging my iPhone/iPod) as well as syncing up with Pandora. What really had me sold was that "Prestige Car Audio" offers FREE car installation! This was a major beneficial factor as to why I chose this place. There were many shops in the area that offered the same thing; however there's a catch as many of those other places don't mention required accessories such as special wiring, a harness, and a casing which isn't necessarily free in my book. And after it was all said and done, the total price after tax on my new CD stereo deck was only $190.00. Do keep in mind that the prices on their stereos is a tad bit higher than what you'd find at Best Buy, Fry's, etc. But with the free installation, you're actually saving more money in the process. As soon as I purchased my stereo, the owners son took my car to the back garage area and started installing my deck. The installation time only took 45 minutes and everything was done in a quick, timely manner. The level of professionalism had definitely met my expectations as the owner as well as his employees were people that I can trust working on my vehicle. And that's not all; "Prestige Car Audio" also sells speakers, amplifiers, kickers, and car alarms from all of the major manufacturers. Additionally, they also offer window tinting for added privacy as well as HID Headlight Kits to truly let your vehicle stand out from the crowd. I did read a few negative reviews on this place; mainly based on the customer service and knowledge on the product. However, I did not experience a single problem as far as the customer service and overall car installation went. Overall, I will continue to support this small family-owned business to service all of my car audio needs. I had under glow lights put on my car. Not only was I charged double what they quoted me. I even gave them a thirty dollar tip. That night when I turned them on they were not installed right. The light is suppose to be under the car. The way they installed them they are in front and back, not under. They look stupid. I went back the next day and told them. They were very rude. Would not stand behind there work. Now the lights will come on, but wont shut off with remote. I had to unplug the wire they ran to the battery. Now They come on by there self. I let whoever answered the phone know I was not looking for remote start, but I am interested in the backup battery that the Viper system offers. So I took my lady's car in for a good car alarm with remote start; Issac and John hooked us up. Unfortunately, we were experiencing issues from the beginning because of the model of the vehicle, Ford Mustang and the cheap spare key we had for it. I purchased a car stereo system and had it installed by Prestige in Feb 2011. I spent $800 on the stereo system and installation. The warranty on the receipt clearly states that there is a guarantee on the installation as long as the owner owns the vehicle. I had to return to Prestige in March of 2011 because the back speakers would go out after about 30 minutes. They said it was a loose speaker wire and tightened it back up. I then had to return 2 months later for the same problem. At that time they said that a wire had acid corrosion on it from the car battery and they replaced that and charged me $40. I asked for the original part and they refused. Saying that they didn't know what the installer did with it, they can't find it. I made a point to make them aware there was no acid corrosion on my battery. 3 months ago, my passenger door speaker went out and only comes on when I am making a right turn. 1 month ago, I smelled burning plastic in my car. After inspection, I find melted, burnt wires on the amplifier directly located behind the back seat. I go to Prestige and inform them of the issue, and their response is that they are far too busy to help me at this time and they will have to call me back the next day. I did not receive a phone call. I call back 2 days later to follow up and was given the same run around that they are way too busy and they would call me back on Friday. I informed them that they have not called me back and that I was very unsatisfied with the installation issues. My 5 year old daughter sits in my back seat and the wires could have caught on fire and burned her! They said it is not an installation issue, that it is a parts issue. I am not happy with their customer service and that they will not honor their installation guarantee. They pass it off as if it is always a parts issue, yet they will not give you back your original parts when asked. I have received a professional second opinion and has been confirmed that the installation was sloppy. I have been quoted $200 for re-wiring and re-installation that I feel I should not have to pay for. If the installation was done properly in the 1st place, I would not have had all 5 of the problems that I have encountered read more

Scam artist I come here and spend $1797.00 on 2 12s L7 kickers And a T1500 watt Rockford Fosgate amp 2 days later my Amp kept cutting off so I called them back.The guy was cool on the phone and when I went in he Had his installer "WITH Experience of 35 years" looked at my beat and said I blew out my speakers he took them out send them out for some new ones I had to pay $200 and come back the next day when I came back the next day they put the new speaker in and said it should work now they turn the car on turn the music on and it still did the same problem then his installer of 35 years experience looked at it again and said it was my amp this time and that I need a new one then he looked around a few more other times and noticed that my ground wire WOW was loose so he tighten it up and it worked fine.Then the owner still charge me the $200 for the speakers that were never blown then I was driving my car for not even four days after and my beat cut off again this time the wire under my hood melted I go back to the shop again this time talk to the owners brother I told him my situation was going on and again his installer of 35 years experience was there having a very very bad attitude and very rude saying that he was not going to work on my shit his exact words into his brother of the owner told him to calm down and that they have to work on it then he told me that I had needed a new fuse and this time he was putting a switch of some king to replace of the fuse on the battery I drive home later on that day and it still keeps cutting off I called him back the next day after that and this time the owner answer I told him my situation and he stated that I need to pay for another fuse box better then the one that they installed in my car I don't know why it's not my fault that his installer keeps messing up I'm a customer not a installer why do I have to pay for you malfunctioning parts if you are looking for some music please do not go here learn from my mistakes their installer of 35 years is more like a installer that just got out of college and very rude and impatient they want the fast money and that's all they look forward to a not a happy satisfied customer their scam artists and that's it if you looking to get your beat hooked up I suggest you to go to Arden audio very nice guys and they'll get the job done. Unless you are having something very basic installed like a deck or some door speakers, DO NOT GO TO THESE GUYS. Don't be fooled by the prices they advertise and the "free installation" they offer. I bought an amp and deck from them and paid to have it installed. Three hours later one of my 12s was blown and interior components of my car weren't properly connected properly and are now hanging off. I have blown a 12" sub before, know what it sounds like when one of the two goes, and was positive that I did not bring it in that way. Low and behold, after I took it to another more professional and high end shop, they said my wiring was installed backwards which DEFINITELY led to the speaker blowing. These guys gave me a decent deal but in the end it came out costing even more because they blew one of my speakers before I even got to see my car and then tried to lie about it as if I had no idea one of my 12's was blown when it was previously installed in my other car. As I said, I've blown one of my 12's before, DEFINITELY know what it sounds like, and in the end got proof that Prestige did blow my speaker due to the wiring from the amp to the sub being completely backwards. If you have any serious installations needed for you vehicle: don't go to these guys, bottom line. read more

Just walked in the store to ask for a price on a fuse that went out on my car. The bass in my system went out so I needed to get that fuse replaced. The guy upfront was super rude when I asked him for the price. He gave me a price of $20.00 which I did not think was too bad if he was putting in for me. I used to be a car stereo installer a lifetime ago. Now I'm an electrical engineer. So I am quite familiar with the technical nature of this type of business. First of all, I came here after canvasing several other local shops. This was the only place I didn't feel the pressure of a hard sell. I needed an alarm, and several choices were offered with no emphasis on one over the other being better or worse. They were just described against each other feature by feature. I simply made my choice based on my needs. The young man in charge, Issac was very knowledgeable with the many product lines. He carefully explained everything to me. I made my choice and was pleasantly surprised to hear the price was 30% less than anyplace else I've checked. Not too long later that afternoon the install was completed and the alarm worked beautifully. I had a couple other issues with my vehicle unrelated with this installation. One of the establishment's staff, John, a gentleman with the profound knowledge of all things LED related, not only offered to help me fix my busted tail light, but also PERSONALLY FOUND THE PROBLEM and fixed it FOR me! He did this at no charge for no other reason than just wanting to help a customer out. He then noted that a previous installation of a subwoofer seemed odd. He patiently explained the nature of today's electronic devices and how different they were from the days when I did this stuff for a living. Eventually he showed me how much better the equipment I already bought from elsewhere could sound. He took the time to educate me about a thing of two I thought I already knew. I was blown away. My Fosgate P400 was not being used to it's full potential, and my 12 inch P3 was drowning itself in a box that was far too small. After placing it in a ported box, my P3, which I thought was very good, now hit so damn hard, began to vibrate loose pieces on my truck that never vibrated before! Suddenly the mid's and highs are now nowhere near enough to keep up with the bass. John's working knowledge of his craft and technical abilities are second to none in this business, in my humble opinion. When I'm ready, I know Issac with take care of me when I come back to get another amp for my mids and highs. I also look forward to discussing the finer points of automobile modification with John!
