The shop is tidy and welcoming, and there are small details (free coffee by the front desk!) that reflect careful attention to the customer experience. I brought in a large container of older stuffed animals in need of both cleaning and repair, along with a delicate corset top and a multi-layered skirt. Andre went through everything step-by-step and provided a detailed estimate. His focus was on providing the items the care he said they deserve. When it came time to pick everything up, the process was prompt and professional. The work was beautifully done - all the garments were clean and properly finished, and the stuffed animals were returned all sparkling and ready for many more years of being loved by our family. When I came in I tried my dress on she did the chalking and knew exactly what it is I was asking for. We discussed it for about 20 minutes. Trying to get it just right. Off the bat she told me it will be $150. As if that wasn't outrageous enough for him, she went on to explain textures and surgeon what we need to be done because of the material and how wide it is. And me being naïve I said OK. Even though my sisters spoke highly against it and we're a little bewildered at the price. They help me cover the cost. I go to pick it up today, later then I asked because I volunteer to do her a favor, due to the prom season. She was delighted to oblige. And offered a 10% discount for it and to pay cash. Anyhow, I pick up my dress and it's cut. JUST CUT! Oh I was trying to explain to her, has she let me know when I came in that a him was not possible I would have left my dress as is and went on about my business. I believed that what I asked could be done and that's why I left it there. She yelled at me. Going on about her level of experience and her following the natural fibers. It's cut. Just cut.. She was not getting the point I was trying to make. And kept yelling that I am the only one that's ever complained in her over 20 years of experience. That is not a good way to do business. I was charged $10 per sleeve, but upon picking up my order, I was told that the other sleeve wasn't so bad and I was being refunded for that sleeve. I took a look at the stitching when I returned home and was absolutely horrified at what I found. I'm not a seamstress, but I quite literally could have done this myself. The work was not high quality at all. It did not even remotely resemble the original stitching. It looked like she just worked the thread around a few of the original stitches and called it a day I could have done that at home with my own needle and thread instead of embarking upon nothing short of an adventure just to be able to find this place. This was definitely not worth the money and I do not plan to return.
