My wife and I had breakfast here this morning. We both had waffles with strawberries, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce. They put a lot of strawberries and whipped cream on, and the chocolate sauce is deep, dark, and intense, so much so that it almost became a savory element. As for the waffles themselves, I enjoyed the heaviness of the waffle, though my wife did not as much. The only real isse I had was that the waffles were not hot. They would be so much better if they were piping hot. So what if the whipped cream would melt, it would be a better experience. All in all, a good breakfast. read more

I hadn't been to this place in awhile and last time I went was when Legacy Food Hall had just opened and I thought their chicken and waffles were pretty good at the time so it was a no brainer. I ordered the chicken and waffles this time but I remixed it by adding the Nutella, Cookie Butter, and Fresh Strawberries! The waffle was magnificent but the chicken I had changed since my last visit. The chicken before seemed a bit homemade and this new chicken is more like a large frozen chicken nugget which is why I only gave three stars. This is one of the most popular food stalls in Legacy Hall and it's mainly because of the waffles which is popular with the kids. Waffle was warmed over not super fresh (so a little on the chewy side. The foodhall is chaotic and loud and kinda dirty even at 11pm. When I go out, I want to try something that I don't get at home, and this hits the spot. I tried the waffle that was drizzled with a combination of melted Nutella and Cookie Butter, then a layer of sliced strawberries was added, and it was topped with a hefty dose of whipped cream, which was then decorated with more melted Nutella (I presumed). The mixture of ingredients was very tasty. If I were to change anything, it would be to hit the waffle with a heavier dose of the initial melted combo of Nutella and Cookie Butter. That's probably just a personal preference, though. The time that it took to wait for my finished product was reasonable, and the employees were pleasant. Liège waffles are usually eaten fresh with the sugar caramelizing the outer "crust" and with a light sprinkling of powdered sugar. Any other toppings would be considered overkill. But, this is Texas, so we here to eat big or go home. I got the Elvis waffle. Again, the waffle itself I could take or leave; it was lukewarm. Wish there was more bacon (or fresh bacon?) instead of glorified bacon bits. Everything else was fresh (banana slices, etc). Bigger portion size but for $9, it should be.
