I took 3 of my kids here yesterday to check out the games. My kids love going to arcades and until now we had only been to arcades at the local casinos. I did appreciate not having to go through a smokey casino to get into the arcade! There was definitely more of an adult feel with the bar (I was glad it was separate from the main arcade room) and all the "retro" arcades - would be fun on a date night or out with a group of friends. Having said that, it was still family-friendly and I had fun with kids. There is a chicken sandwich place attached that I was hoping to try, but it wasn't open - had very limited hours. The place was clean and there was fun music playing. I liked using quarters instead of tokens/cards - was easier to tell how much the games cost to play, which was mostly 25 cents except for a few 50 cent or 1 dollar games. Awesome date night idea! My husband and I are in our mid-30s and always find it hard to find a fun date night where we won't feel like the old couple. This is the place! We ordered drinks and played old school arcade games. It's cheap too. We spent less than $20 (not including drinks) for about an hour of game time. It wasn't crowded and was very enjoyable. Only negative is that they only have street parking, and they had some homeless people living out of their cars right out front. But that can be said about most businesses downtown. It's hard to find something that is both affordable AND fun these days, but Press Start is just that. The games range from 25c to $1 per player, and provided us with endless amounts of entertainment. They have a great selection of beers on tap. I would also like to comment on how comfortable the seating is, that's not something I typically pay attention to but I felt like I could sink right in and spend the whole evening on the sofas they have. What a great place for a birthday party! If you grew up in the 80s this place is perfect for you. Tons of pinball and all of the games you forgot that you loved as a teenager (Paperboy). The Yelp Button Bash event was simply wonderful. Hubby and I had so much fun playing all the various pin ball machines. Truly a blast from the past. To make it even more fun... we enjoyed libations such as Fireball Whisky. I'll be doing that again! Had beer on tap and it was also wonderful. The atmosphere was electric, high energy and comfortable as well. Highly recommend this venue for an event if you want to treat your staff to a ton of fun. Place is dope as heck. Firstly great selection of video games but the games aren't overpriced. Quarter gets you in most games and I appreciate not being gouged, makes me want to support the business that much more. Place is gonna be packed in like 60 days when word gets out about this place. Who doesn't love getting hammered and aggressive with a pinball machine? Well... don't do that. Get casually buzzed and treat the machine's with respect, please. Fortunately, the good people at Press Start try to make sure that everyone there is having a good time, and that their games are operating correctly. I've had a moment or two where I've lost quarters to the machines, and they're quick to make sure I get it back. They regularly have special cocktails, they've recently re-organized the layout to make a lot more space in the building, and just as a rule I always have a good night when I stop in here. read more

Good times! Outstanding selection of old school games. All the favorites! Only 25cents. They have a change machine in case you forgot to get a roll of quarters. Bar had a good selection of bottles, tap, and the friendly, hilarious bartenders can work some mixology for you, too. Great music in the background, tables cleverly marked with player numbers for sitting and visiting or just to rest your drink while you game all add to the fun atmosphere. Love this place. I brought some first-timers here over the weekend, and you can't really beat an adult barcade. The bartender went above and beyond for our birthday boy; gifting him some birthday tokens and a drink. We all aggressively played Mario Kart, Rampage (95% of my attention), The Simpsons, Street Fighter, TMNT, and a slew of pinball machines. Most games took one or two tokens (one quarter each), aside from the highly sought after 'Walking Dead' gaming experience, which was $1 per player and full of crossbows and zombie bites. Many games featured cupholders, to prevent what could be an easy way to destroy expensive and irreplaceable machinery. The larger spaces were filled with a pool table and an air hockey table, and only a skeeball machine is missing, if I wanted to be particular. The bartender made killer bloody mary's without complaint, though the hour of their request was odd. The boys ordered pizza from the nearby Pizzava, and enjoyed it from the seating area adjacent to the window after walking over to grab it. The games have always shifted in position or swapped out entirely, depending on when I have stopped by Press Start, and I love the constant surprise of what's to come. Press Start is a great spot to get your game on and your drink on at the same time. A great selection of arcade games. A huge portion of which are vintage. The pinball selection is by far the best in the region and include some hardcore flipperhead favorites and some really good new machines. The staff was very friendly and helpful and worked hard at keeping the place clean. Alcohol prices are average for the area and the beer selection was good if not limited. This place is more an arcade than it is a bar as the bar is really small and there isnt a lot of space to hang out when you want to take a break from the games and socialize. I went for a great free Yelp event so I cant speak on game prices but I feel like I couldnt spend hours here on a regular night out as the alcohol prices mixed with game prices might add up really fast. 5 stars if the bar was bigger. read more

I came here with my Meetup group for a social event. The bar staff was fast and friendly and the drinks were reasonable. I prefer wine and their selection was scant but I survived. They have their own parking lot! They had so many games that I loved as a kid - Dig Dug, Centipede, Galaga, Pacman, Ms. Packman and what an awesome surprise, Tempest! They had a lot of pinball machines as well, maybe 20 or more! Bonus, air hockey and pool! My only complaints are that they don't have a photo booth (this place screams for one) and there was a bit of a funky/musty smell that was completely unrelated to the hipsters smoking pot in the parking lot. The art in the bathroom! Need I say more? Ok I probably should. This place is awesome. Alcohol, old and new school arcade games, all the pinball you could possibly desire, and a great billiards room in the back. I would recommend this place for dates, double dates, triple dates, and even a group hang! It is a little loud, so not the best for facilitating deep conversation, but you can always do that outside. Plus, you'll be so busy playing, the only conversation you'll be having is smack talk and boasting. The last time I was here I played a lot of the 6-person x-men coop game, Rampage of course, the Simpsons of course, Area 51, about 8 different pinball games, and a lot of pool. I guess they do this semi-regular basis. Atmosphere - If it was not for the bar, I would have said I walked back into an 80's arcade. Okay a few too many windows too for an 80's arcade. Drink menu has a game theme, which totally like for sure makes sense. It looked about 8 beer taps too. I skipped the beer as I was hanging with my daughter Games - Classic 80's arcade games and a few new ones along with pinball. I played Q-Bert, wow I lost my skills. It was still fun playing. What was cool was the games are the same price from the 80's and they take quarters. So you have to take you bills and have the machine break them down to quarters. I saw change buckets, I have not seen those in years, and typically in casino. Service - I really can not say anything about this. The only employee was the person behind the bar. A fun place to hang out and play arcade games from the 70s 80s 90s and 2000s. They do have a full bar friendly staff and great beer on tap. Went there with a friend stayed two hours and spent $20. What a great way to have some fun on a budget. Definitely recommend read more

What a fun place!! Pinball, air hockey, Area 51, Galaga, The Simpson's, dig dug, mortal combat, TMNT, and much more! I LOVE pinball and they have about 6 or 7 pinball machines! The bar is pretty small but I think that's how it should be in a place like this; everyone should be playing games and having a good time. There are a couple couches and small tables where you can sit and socialize, but this place as designed for people to be up and playing. Playing air hockey was one of the highlights if the night, bring on the competetion!! I think this might be our new favorite place to come on a night out. Cool bar concept! The place was packed and the bar was busy, but very fast. They had local beer on draft, lits of bottles, and a whole bar. There was a food truck out front and they have their own parking lot, which is a huge bonus in Midtown. The beer was cold, there is lounge seating, a change machine, and all the games I played were just a quarter! They have the classics like Tempest, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Dig Dug, Dragon's Lair, Toobin', pinball, and so much more. Glad we finally made it to a local arcade bar! Press start has a wide variety of games from Guitar Hero to our new favorite game called Ice Cold Beer. There's a pinball game that actually takes your picture while you're playing (with a lovely double chin angle lol). The Fireball room was really cool with a pool table, plenty of fireball memorabilia, and a vintage pinball machine called Fireball. Mixed Drinks were a little pricey at $10. The arcade bars in our last city had free games (with exception to pinball) as long as you were buying drinks so that was a different model. I will say that having to put the quarters in was kind of nostalgic to my Chuck E. Cheese days. The staff here were very friendly. There were posters for events held by the bar. My boyfriend saw an ad online for this place and we've been meaning to try It out ever since. What could be better than a bunch of adults, a full bar, and old arcade games? NOTHING! 21 and over only allowed in, plus the younger kids wouldn't even know our games! I zeroed in real quick on Galaga, which is one of the first machines. It's combined with the Mrs. Pac-Man game! The high score (apparently set by the bartender) was 204,000 something. So naturally, my boyfriend and I set out to beat It. A few quarters later and I am currently the reigning Galaga champ at 220,000 Points! Probably the best feeling during my experience at Press-start! They apparently have specials or free gifts if you beat the high score on a certain game, unfortunately It was Dig-Dug and not Galaga, so I only won bragging rights. The bartenders were fun, prompt, and informative. They've got quite a few options on tap and lots of local options. They've also got cocktails and mixes. My Tom Collins was delicious and helped my success in high scores. They've got varieties of pinball, arcade games, and air hockey! Tons to choose from and all equally fun. I took my friend here for their birthday. It was probably about 9p in the evening and it was packed. They had some super fun games. They were definitely old school. Everything was fairly clean and easy to use. I would have given it 5 stars if the chicken place was open. Food would be a great addition to this spot. We finally came in outside of a yelp event for the first time the other night. Since the yelp event they have reconfigured their game layout giving the bar a more open atmosphere, but unfortunately the way the games are set up now, they create little pockets of unusable space if there's more that two people playing games in that area. They've switched the mainly coin op, but some machines do still take tokens if you have any leftover from before. In my opinion, most of the games are very reasonably priced and there were only a couple that weren't in working order at the time. Although I do wish they had a better variety of first person shooter games and driving games, they have a HUGE selection of pinball machines. The bartenders are super friendly and they have a great selection of alcohol to choose from. They also have specialty drinks with fun game themed names that are $10 but come with the incentive of $2 in tokens for game play! You can also receive free tokens from ordering from Pizzava while you're there. read more

This place is probably the greatest thing in the history of the Reno. I loved so many of the games here!! They're all so well maintained, clean, etc. Drink holders at every game (so perfect), hand sanitizers everywhere. Drinks were good too, and unlimited soda refills (though my first bartender failed to tell me this). Most games are 25¢ or 50¢, and there's a coin machine and buckets for your coins. I hate carrying around a bucket of coins, so hopefully they implement some kind of card system in the future (like Round 1 and the hotel arcades do). But I'm really not complaining!
