I have never actually left a review on anything before but this place was disgusting with food and more importantly the customer service. I normally love their burritos! However, today there was a bug in my food. I asked if they could exchange it while the bug was still on the plate. I was then told, "a water bug? Uhh, sure". There was a lot of attitude and they acted as if I inconvenienced them. My other burrito took so long and was eventually thrown on the table. This location was awful. Very stylish place, new and popular. I especially appreciate that they have "to stay" cups and "to go" cups. It cuts down on waste and also helps to add to the atmosphere of the place. There is plenty of stuff on the menu, even some cocktails. My cappuccino was great, very rich in flavor, but not too heavy like some other milk heavy drinks which I have had at other places. Ordered a 12 oz cafe latte, light ice at 32nd St location about 10:15 today, Saturday, and was given about 6 oz. of coffee in the cup. About half the cup was empty. I politely asked the server to fill up the rest with coffee. He dumped in ice to the top. Not any more coffee. I nicely said I wanted coffee to the top. In a very dismissive, rude tone he said "That's not how we do it here" and turned his back on me and walked away. Ignored me. Guess you have too much business now with most coffee shops closed. If that is "how you do it" and the customer doesn't matter, then good luck. If it's not how you normally treat a customer, then please give this arrogant male employee some customer service training. Ok. A little disappointed in this location. There's a lot of weird rules here. Every question we asked the answer was no. Like, can you pour the coffee over ice? "no". Can I get a shot of screwball in my coffee? "No. You have to buy a whole cocktail". Ok, can we pay the cocktail price but get a shot of screwball? "No". It's our wedding Anniversary, and wanted to start the celebration a little early. "No". Ordered breakfast. By far the best coffee I've ever had. This new location is amazing. It can be a little loud at times with the roasters going but that's all part of the experience. If you're looking for an intimate space to share only with your significant other than go somewhere else. If you're looking for an upbeat atmosphere and, again, the best coffee ever...then stop in. The owner, Steve, is always very happy to chat and very personable. The employees really seem to love their job and are very knowledgeable. This was my first time experience at a Press Coffee and overall it was enjoyable. It's a new shop, feels very open and roomy with additional seating upstairs. Walking in, besides the heaven-sent AC reviving my overheated body (note to self: drive next time), the pleasant aroma of fresh-brewed wafted in the air. On a whim, I ordered a cold brew coffee and a sandwich off the menu. Unfortunately, it seems you can't get the sandwiches made to order, but must grab a pre-made one from the cooler by the register. I snagged the last turkey pesto and with cold brew in tow, took a seat a the bar. The service was fast and friendly despite me bugging them with my uneducated questions. The turkey pesto was decent, but on par with something pulled from an convenient store fridge and the cold brew average, but refreshing. I apologize to the millennials as I did not check for WiFi or USB outlets, but did notice a proliferation of electronic gadgets being used. I look forward to testing some delicious-looking baked goods in the future. read more

Place is attractive outside and in. Been meaning to try it for a while and finally made it in. I was planning to order an iced latte, but a 20oz was $5.50 and so was the 32oz cold brew. I opted for the cold brew. I was really pleased that they offered heavy cream as an option. I picked up the cup and coffee went all over the counter. I apologized that I squeezed it too hard and one employee said something about it not being me. Having picked up hundreds of 32oz plastic cups in my day, I assumed that they are saving some money buying pretty low grade cups. I generally wash and reuse cups like this for my own cold brew so I have a few at home. I made the comparison against some others and this one is extremely soft. No big deal. The employees were really nice about cleaning up my mess and offering a dish towel to assist me drying off my hand. Then, the taste test. Unfortunately, this cold brew is extremely bitter. I have actually never had any coffee that is as bitter as this. I honestly would question if it is steeped at all. I am very disappointed in the entire experience. There are too many coffee joints around for one to spend all kinds of money on a great looking establishment only to offer a sub par product. Sorry, I won't be back nor do I expect this place to be around for long. After posting this review, I looked through several others. It seems as though people named Mark do not like this place at all. Maybe it's me??? Also, my young daughter just pointed out that perhaps "Press" refers to the weak cups that can be pressed too easily due to their construction. Genius. read more

The good stuff: Again it's a Roastery on top of a coffee shop. The decor is pretty amazing. LOTS of parking. The meh: I ordered a double shot over ice. The wait was pretty long and the girl who ordered behind me got her chai before I got my drink. But the reason was because our drinks were being made at the same time, efficient, yes, but also my espresso shots were being left to oxidize () after they poured whilst the barista was doing all the steps required to make a chai. I saw her take my espresso over to the ice bin and put a scoop of ice over the espresso: ice over espresso. I ordered espresso over ice not espresso with ice, they are 2 different drink and changes the whole taste and make up of the drink. By the time I got my drink I needed to be rushing back to work so I didn't say anything but it was a bummer. I thought for sure a Roastery would have baristas who knew what this drink was, but hey ho. I guess if you have any doubts about them being able to make your drink, tell them without being pretentious. I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I would like to preface this review, by stating I am no coffee expert nor am I extremely particular about my coffee(sometimes I enjoy diner coffee). I heard amazing things about Press, including that they roast their own beans and serve speciality coffee, like pour over. However their expresó was horribly sour, a cup of straight lime juice would have been more palatable. Honestly to say the espresso was bad wouldn't even be enough, it is probably one of the worst things I have ever tasted. To say a Starbucks shot of espresso is miles better is extreme disappointing. Now, I understand that coffee making and pulling an espresso shot varies from barista to barista; however, I would expect the baristas at Press to receive some sort of training to at least produce mediocre coffee. I honestly hate to be so critical, but I know, if there was a review like this it would not have only saved me time and money, but also my stomach. read more

The pastries tasted like they were made the day before. They were stale, dry and hard as a rock. The cappuccino had no foam at all so not entirely sure what was made. Great Coffee....BUT, NOT worth the RUDE, SNOBBISH service. I'm a bit of a coffee aficionado and I used to really enjoy stopping in at Press for an espresso or a breve latte, or to pick up some Ethiopian beans for use in my commercial espresso bar. I'm not interested in the "Snobbish" barista vibe however that has unfortunately become this establishment. That may have worked 20 years ago in the coffee industry, but today, it just drives customers away. I stopped in this weekend to order a handful of drinks to bring back to the participants of a "virtual conference" we were participating in. I entered wearing my "mask," followed the "social distancing" guidelines while standing in line. At my time to order the cashier and I both struggled to hear each other as we were standing behind a large plexiglass window. After repeating my order at least 3 times I briefly took down my mask so she could hear me. As soon as I removed my mask a young male barista/shift lead? proceeded to come over, interrupt me and then scold me in front of the cashier and the whole busy café. "Sir, please put your mask back on!" (I appreciated that he said, please...but his TONE and VOLUME were dripping with disrespect and arrogance.) I looked around at all of the people sitting at their tables NOT WEARING MASKS (which is understandable if you're trying to drink coffee!) and proceeded to take my business across the street to 32Shea. (Of course, they were helpful and polite....and grateful for my $40+ order.) I've spent hundreds of dollars and bought many bags of whole beans from Press in the last couple of years. We stopped in to see the place after purchasing a bag of Press beans at Fry's. We wanted more beans and to taste the Cold Brew. The building is contemporary modern with a dash of rustic steel and earthy tones. I liked the upstairs option. However it was loud with no sound abatement whatsoever. It was like being in a giant metal canyon with every conversation echoing. It was hard to hear the baristas. The Cold Brew is top of the line albeit overpriced. It would be beneficial if Press offered a loyalty card. Now, the 12oz bag of beans. We were excited to have freshly roasted beans in the neighborhood. However, not excited the 12oz bag was $20! It was double the price from Fry's! The service was okay. We paid for our bean and 32oz Cold Brew. Then waited for the new Cold Brew keg to be set only to get a 16oz drink. That was the tipping point. We went back to the cashier, returned the $20 (seriously?? $20?!) bag of beans and they exchanged our 16oz for the correct 32oz drink. Overall, coffee is good though we will not be back. No drive through, tough parking, loud atmosphere and high prices all equal 2 stars. read more
