Deeeelicious! Me had the dragonfruit cheesecake stuffed donut, iced latte donut, s'more's latte and CTC cold brew! Cheesecake donut was the overall fav, but latte donut was very good too. The coffees were good, maybe not as sweet as I would normally like but I have a big sweet tooth, so probably a me problem :) We JUST missed the deep fried cinnamon rolls ): but we'll be back! I'm writing this review with keeping the time I went in mind. I went towards closing and ordered the 4 donuts that were left; strawberry, Oreo, everything bagel, and brioche cheesecake donut. The donuts themselves are good. Definitely brioche. The icing is also very flavorful. The everything bagel was a MISS. I love weird stuff so I thought why not, but everything bagel seasoning on a donut is not for me. The filled donut we got also was a miss because of its hard outer layer. This is the closest place to me that offers them, and I have to say that every time we've gone to get our sweet fix, they are so nice here. A couple times I've called ahead to verify they have Vegan Donuts available, and they always answer the phone (uncommon in the coffee/pastry industry). Their donuts are fair priced, menus are simple and easy to read, they always have plenty of seating and parking is never a problem. The vibe is quirky, bright, and 70's. We had some issues with their Loyalty Program for a while, but they fixed whatever backend issue, and now we're good ;) This is a solid place to get some tasty, big Vegan Donuts! read more

Popped in to Chin Up around noon. The decor is really cute with lots of orange 70's decor. I immediately felt like I wanted to stay. They have some fun coffees like smokes mocha and cinnamon toast cold brew. We tried the honey lavender latte and the super fun cereal milk latte. Loved the cereal milk latte, with actual cereal in it. The honey lavender latte was a little bitter but okay. We had a peek at the donuts but they were just out in the open and did look a little dry. I tried one donut hole that was okay. I know they do special donut flavors so maybe made freshly they are tasty. I think they should be in a case to preserve their freshness. read more

Can't get enough donuts and this is my favorite place to get them in the valley. The brioche bottoms are a total game changer. And they have very unique flavors- my favorite is everything bagel but I miss sriracha! The seasonals are also fun- I loved banana cream pie and next on my list is the caramel apple. Such a cute spot with some great donuts. I came across this place because a place in the same plaza was having some issues. The lady at the counter was so helpful and sharing some info about their business and goods. Then, a regular customer told me I had to get a breakfast sandwich because the bun is essentially a donut. So I did and boy, it was quite yummy - kinda seemed like a guilty pleasure. The regular also told me that all the donuts are made from scratch, rather than from pre-made mix shipped in somewhere. I'm glad to have some yummy places up on this side of town - Chin Up being one of those places. I love the idea of a brioche based donut and you can definitely tell these donuts don't taste like all the other donuts out there. I feel like regular run of the mill donut shops have become a dime a dozen. I also appreciate the unique flavors Chin Up offers and they always rotate some seasonal flavors to keep things exciting. The donuts have a great and unique texture - fluffy, bouncy, airy but still have enough substance. Every part of the donut is made in house which I also really appreciate. Donut flavors I tried are the sea salt caramel, seasonal fruity flavors, brown butter, and the birthday cake. For birthday cake being a pretty basic flavor, it's actually quite good. I like any of the brown butter/sea salt/caramel flavors. Those are pretty tasty! I also like the fact they have drinks here to that are also of pretty good quality. The staff is great and it is cutely decorated. They make most of their donuts at this location and transport them down to the Old Town location. read more

At first, I was delighted by the marketing, very clever to play on emotions of "cheer up, there's always donuts" something to that effect. Cause heaven knows don't we all love donuts?! The decor is pleasant , clean and casual. Bathrooms very nice and adorned with good amenities. The place is a nice place to sit, read , enjoy coffee and eat a donut. It would be even better if the donuts tasted good. The donuts are messy looking , as if a 5 yo decorated them after licking their fingers, they're dry and have a remnant flavoring of old frying oil. Many of the donuts are over fried to a very dark brown. The cinnamon bun donut was so dark it looked black. I ordered the Oreo cookie covered vanilla donut and I tasted sugar and oil on first bite. It was a very heavy cake donut, unlike the light airiness of a typical fried donut. I also had their mushroom iced coffee. That was delicious and worth going back for. So all in all, it's good for coffee, but in my opinion not great for donuts. Lastly, I found it expensive. $12+ for a medium specialty coffee and a donut ( a little larger than avg size). read more

We visited this shop for the first time on 1/4/25 at around noon or so. The service was friendly and efficient. The ambiance was a nice vibe with lovely decor and looked like a comfy place to sit and relax. We unfortunately were just doing a take-out order. My friend and I both ordered several donuts each. I was excited to try the maple bacon. I also ordered donut holes. Sadly, both donuts (and holes) felt stale and the brioche just had little flavor. I tasted oil more than anything and it just felt off. The maple bacon had chunks of bacon that just didn't taste fresh or flavorful and the texture seemed off. I don't eat donuts often because they are sinful, but this was supposed to be a treat. I was really excited to support an independent, women-owned business (I own one myself) but nothing wow's me. In fact, store bought donuts would have been a big improvement. I realize the brioche dough is supposed to be special, but it truly wasn't. At least not today. I got out of bed craving donuts.  Chin Up Donuts looked promising. Glazed donut with sprinkles was a rich brioche with glaze on top that had delicious sweet flavor. Vanilla donut had a vanilla glaze which had a mild sweetness so you could taste the flavor of the brioche donut.  Very tasty with the mild vanilla flavor, Lavender donut was full of lavender flavor and a blast of sweetness. Chin Up Donuts start with the same brioche base and have different flavor and sweetness levels based on the topping.  These brioche donuts are richer and denser than the yeast based donuts I usually eat.  My favorite was the lavender donut. Delicious but it was too sweet to eat the whole donut all at once.  The lady at the counter was very nice and helpful.  Very cheery considering it was before 7am. read more

I came into Chin Up Donuts for the first time a few weeks ago. I don't live near north Scottsdale, but I was in the area for the day and wanted to try it! I ended up getting an iced chai latte and 4 donuts to share with a couple other people. The store is in a great location, and the inside was super cute! I got there at 9am and there was already a sold out flavor, and I did hear that these donuts sell out fast. I decided to get 2 vegan flavors and 2 regular flavors. Out of all the flavors, my two favorite were vegan lemon poppyseed, and vegan sprinkles. The other two flavors were strawberry basil and lavender. I do like that the flavors are always changing with the exception of a few that are always there. But one thing I didn't like was that the donut bases were all the same, and the icing on top is what made the flavor. The actual donut base is good but a little dense, not as light and fluffy as I'd like. Also the icing didn't really stick to the donut, like it broke off from the base. I would come back to Chin up to try other flavors, but I think I'll wait until their new location opens! That one will be a little closer to me. read more

This place is beyond adorable!!! Stopped here for a quick treat and it did not disappoint in the decoration or vibe! I love the burnt orange and natural tones. It's cozy yet very trendy and the displace case for their donuts is beautiful. Now for the main attraction the donuts!!! They have the right amount of frosting/glaze. The dough is thicker, almost cake like. They weren't overly sweet which was nice as the frosting/glaze was very sweet. This place is definitely worth a try! What drew me here was a review about gluten free donuts - here is the lowdown: they CAN do GF donuts but require 48hrs notice to clean the kit h for production. You can order them online ahead of time and then go pick them up! Unfortunately we did t know that going in so we didn't get to try any but their regular donuts looked incredible! I wanted to pick up a vegan treat for my sister and I saw Chin Up Donuts was nearby. From the outside it seems pretty chill but once you walk inside you get hugged by a happy tangerine palette. The friendly employee gave me a brief introduction to their brioche donuts, which are just a little more bready than your average yeast or cake donut. I had a client who really wanted a doughnut so I told him the next visit I had I would bring them one. I did not realize that this would be harder than I thought they was not many donut shops. The one I found that was closest to them happen to be closed and there was a Dunkin' Donuts but it was quite a ways and to be honest I'm not a big fan of their donuts. So I found this place and decided to give it a shot. I got to meet the owner I believe her name was Alex. It was a busy day so they were running out of donuts. I've tried these donuts twice now and thought it's time to review this spot. My manager gifted me a half dozen donuts and I was excited to try them all. This business is known for their unique and unorthodox flavor combinations, such as Sriracha and everything bagel. I first tried the Sriracha one, being a big fan of the hot sauce, and found it to be intriguing. It had a kick to it with some red pepper flakes on top but being a donut, it was of course sweet. The everything bagel flavor tasted just like the bottle you get from Trader Joe's. My favorite out of this batch was the brown butter sea salt. Such a nice combination of sweet and salty, good stuff. The double chocolate was fine, had some chocolate chips on there for texture. And the lemon poppyseed had a lemon flavor to it but was on the sweet side for me. Overall pretty good, but I have to say I've been ruined by Mochi donuts. I now expect donuts to all be light and chewy and this wasn't the case; these donuts are more on the cakey/briochey side which accounts for the 1 star off. I had the opportunity to visit last month, what specifically caught my eye was the LAVENDER donut! I am game for pretty much anything and all things lavender, so needless to say, was very excited that I could pair a my morning lavender latte and a lavender donut! Let's get to the details though - This location is not in my normal stomping grounds, but alas, lavender pulled me in, the parking lot boasts ample, free parking and many other businesses, which I cannot fully remember, as I had my eye on the prize. They are about or just have opened doors to an Old Town Scottsdale location though, which is very exciting and allows me to visit a bit more frequently when the urge arises! They are opened daily at 7 and close mid afternoon at 3. The space itself is extremely roomy and boasts bright, retro, vintage decor and colors, think retro desert! I absolutely loved it and honestly felt a lot like my personal decor, hah! The great part about Chin Up, they do not only offers many flavors of donuts, including vegan options, but also a full coffee bar and breakfast sandwiches! It truly covers all your breaky needs, which I love, because sometimes a girl wants more than a donut. Because I have problem making decisions, my husband and I ordered a lavender donut, a cinnamon roll, a bacon breakfast sandwich and their Saturday exclusive, cheesecake stuffed brioche donut! In addition, to my lavender latte! The stand outs for both my husband and I were definitely the cinnamon roll and breakfast sandwich. We LOVE cinnamon rolls (Must have cream cheese frosting/I will die on that hill) and this truly was one of the most delicious one I have had the opportunity to try! It was absolutely delicious, the edges were a bit burnt, as their are so many delicious layers on the inside, but it was amazing! The breakfast sandwich was also STAND OUT! They use the same brioche dough as their donuts, but it is not sweet or glazed, so very soft and light, the inside is all scrambled together, which I really enjoyed. They also offer a chorizo breakfast sandwich, which i cannot wait to try. The cheesecake brioche was delightful and the lavender was very nice. They had a plentiful of flavors from birthday cake, lemon poppyseed, browned butter + sea salt, everything bagel, oreo, smores and many more. I believe they have a rotating special as well, including a creme brulee donut on Sunday! In addition, to an extensive and delicious menu, the value is absolutely there with many of the specialty donuts being around $3, some of them $4-$5 and the breakfast sandwiches around $6-7.
