I will be having them cover the whole house where they come out Spring / Fall to inspect my HVAC (they check the capacitors in the outside condenser unit wich not very many HVAC Tech check this. Our (propane fired) Payne furnace was leaking water on the floor every 7-10 days and had been doing…read moreit for a couple months. I thought it was the evacuator pump but that was not the case. We called Allendale Heating as they had just replace the primary heat exchanger on the furnace 3 years earlier. We were told that they could not get there in the morning but it would be in the afternoon around 1 before they could. That was to work well as my wife had errands to run in the AM. The technician arrived at around 10:30 when neither myself or my wife were home. My father (who is hard of hearing and cannot get around too well) let him in and he went to look at the furnace. The tech was there a short time and made the assumption that the water that was showing up was coming out of our freezer and not the furnace. What he did not know was that the freezer had just been installed the day before he arrived. He left a write up and a bill with my father. My father immediately called to tell me that the guy had come to look at the furnace already and that he didn't find anything wrong but that the freezer was leaking. I asked him to put the guy on the phone to which he replied 'He just walked out the door'. I asked him to see if he was still there. When he got back to the phone he said 'He's driving out right now' I quickly called Allendale Heating and asked the receptionist if she would have the guy call me. Her response was very short saying "Our technicians don't call people. You can read the report he left and get back to us". I explained to her that the he simply didn't know that the freezer had just been installed and if I could talk to him I would explain. I told her 'He is driving down my driveway right now... please just have him call me" She said again "Our technicians don't call people and he's on another call now" Again quite rude. I said "please he's still driving down my driveway' She just repeated the same line. "Our technicians don't call people sir" I mentioned that he arrived early and if he had been there at 1 my wife could have given him the information. She insisted that he had not. I was getting frustrated at this point when I asked if I would be paying another service charge when they didn't do anything the first time. I then said I guess I'll have to call someone else. She hung up on me. I called Coopersville Heating and Cooling. They came out and pulled the blower motor out of the furnace to expose the heat exchangers. What he found was that the secondary heat exchanger was rotted out and the moisture was gathering in the blower motor case and then blowing the water out when the blower would kick on. Why Allendale had not replaced the secondary exchanger when they did the primary I don't know. I know sometimes things don't look to bad at first glance so I guess I understand that. Two weeks passed and I thought I would call Allendale again and try to explain. That despite the misunderstanding I wanted Allendale Heating to quote a new furnace for us. I spoke with the same receptionist and was totally honest and said that I did not plan to pay the invoice for the service call when they did not asses the situation correctly. Going on I explained how Coopersville Heating and Cooling had found the problem straight away. She said to me "I don't believe any of our salesmen will want to call on you considering you just told me you were not going to pay your bill" I explained again that they arrive early and left without giving any assessment on the furnace. She said I remember this call we did not come early and hung up again. ALL OF THIS could have been avoided if the receptionist had simply done what good customer service people do and helped me / us out. Communication is the key in all relationships. Whether it be personal or professional. Why she could not assist with a simple phone call is unprofessional and shows she does not want to help people.

I got a quote within a range and like all other things, I expected the final price to be at the higher end. The technician did a great job removing the old unit and installing the new one showing that he'd obviously done this many times. I'm always concerned because these guys are on the clock and my cynical self says it doesn't matter how long it takes because it just gets reflected in the bill. I was pleasantly surprised when the bill arrived the next week. The total cost was at the lower end of the quote with an excellent job as a bonus. Reliable is definitely very RELIABLE! Less then two years ago, they replaced our old worn out…read morefurnace with new unit... A mid range unit (Goodman) was selected to reduce some costs. The removal and replacement process was excellent all around. The unit ran well over the period. There some minor water leaks, but not their issue. They fixed these during the 1 year inspection they provide. All was well it seemed. Then earlier this month (December 2023) they had a deal to come out and inspect the furnace for no charge. They came out, and found the heat exchanger in it was cracked and leaking CO.... The furnace had to be shut down as a result. Goodman has a published 10 year warranty including the heat exchanger however, no labor was covered. Reliable contacted Goodman, but no luck in getting the labor covered and replacing the heat exchanger was not a great option. They went to work and provided us with an amazing solution...replace the entire furnace with a new better model....all at no charge. On their nickel!!! I am just absolutely amazed they did this for us, and further they were here with the new unit in a few days, and replaced the defective unit with the new Heil. Also amazing, they were able to remove the existing furnace and complete the new installation in about a half of a day!!! These guys are incredible and very professional. There was only one minor glitch and I called them late afternoon after they left, and again was amazed as they came right back out within a few hours and fixed the issues and all was well... This is a company that not only talks about great customer service, but they live it. Everyone from the fantastic techs that were here, to Kenton the owner, and the office staff went far above and beyond for us... I would only wish more companies provided such excellent service! If you need a few furnace and/or AC, these are the guys you can trust!

When we first moved to the area, our humidifier was not working, Roger came over and showed us how to get it going - at NC! We just had them put in a new AC unit for us. A large company came out and told me I had to leave the air off till it was replaced. Roger came over and explained how to keep it running till they could replace the old unit. While he was in the basement he discovered the hot water heater vent had come detached at the foundation, leaking small amounts of gas in the house and fixed it up.
